Why dont you help people who are facing problems using your IDE.
People expect more from you and after all its your product. I do agree the pain you had in developing this IDE. But atleast take a look and try to rectify the problems facing in using IDE.We all have faith in you and leaving this message to take as a grant.Please do favour in calendar component problem. IF I am not wrong there should be any object and event in the triggerring event field of the task.
Try to replicate the same oject and event present in the tasks triggerring tab. Activate the event - task linkage for the new task. so that task gets triggered successfully and gives the workitem id in the export parameters.

Help -- Who has experience with ant and build.xml files ?

A lot of people here use ant. But not all of us can read your mind, and those of us that can are sadistic bastards that like to force people to provide details of their problems just for the hell of it.
So please do the following:
* Go through an ant tutorial or other introductory docs, doing an example or two if present.
* Set up your build.xml according to what you've learned.
* If it still doesn't work, post the relevant portions of it (hopefully you'll have a small, representative sample that reproduces the problem), along with your relevant directory and file structure, the command you're running, and what error messages you're getting.

TS4268 HI I started using imessage today to send SMSs from my computer, after downloading a the Lion OSX operating system. All was working well, but it seems now I can't SMS EVERYONE, just ppl who are registered with iMessage - is that right?

Would be great to be able to message ANYONE through this app. Also is it possible to receive messages sent to my phone number on the macbook? That would be handy if I left my phone somewhere accidentally (which happens semi-regularly LOL) thanks

I'm not sure that Whatsapp is any good to me in that case unfortunately. My goal is:
to be able to send and receive SMSs (to everyone - not just those who also have imessage) on my macbook PRO (with OSX 10.8.2).
Basically I would love to use my macbook as an alternative to my iphone on occasion. I would like to be able to leave my phone at work (and job home) and then when I get home log onto my macbook and find out if anyone has SMS-ed me=. Maybe not possible but I thought with iClould and all this other device-compatablity there might/must be a way??

If you have gone through Oracle 9i documentation , you will see they have mentioned about MULTIPLE BLOCK SIZE Configuration.
Is it really possible?
And secondly my database block size is 8K and DB_CACHE_SIZE is 24M. Then what is the significance of defining DB_4K_CACHE_SIZE or DB_32K_CACHE_SIZE?
Can anybody clear my doubts? It will be really appreciated.

It has to do with row packing and the number of blocks to read. If one can create a larger block -- say for a data warehouse project -- the database has to make fewer block reads to get the data. However, for an OLTP application, you may want to go with a smaller block size to prevent contention between different users.
We are still in the experimentation stage, but it is nice to get away from the one size fits all mindset.

Boot the laptop while holding down the ESC key. It'll beep at you and display 'Check system. Then press [F1] key'. Press the F1 key. This gets you into bios settings. The keys to navigate through this are shown at the bottom of the screen.
There's four things you want to change from their default settings.
In the 'Peripheral' section:
Set 'USB-FDD Legacy Emulation' to 'Enabled'
In the 'Boot Priority' section:
Set 'Boot Priority' to any option where 'FDD' comes before 'HDD'
Use the PgDn key to move to the next screen.
In the 'Configuration' section:
Set 'Device Config.' to 'All Devices'
In the 'PC Card' section:
Set 'Controller Mode' to 'CardBus/16-bit'
The boot priority option is only needed for the install (and you may be able to boot from CD if you set the PC card controller correctly .

Well, as far as I know the USB-FDD emulation is needed if you use the WinNT on your notebook. This option has no influence on WinXP or on other Windows OS.
You need a Toshiba Mobile PCMCIA - CD-ROM/DVD compatible drive to boot or to install the OS from CD.
If you want to buy one so I recommend to order this part from the ASP because you will be 100% sure that you can boot from this drive.

We're using the term 'master' as in the final stereo file which is to be put on disc - not the master output object in Logic. Frankly, (again, IMO) you should not be slamming or clipping any bounce. ever. There's a time and place for it (assuming you want a master that loud) - it is the mastering stage, and your ME would not appreciate a 2 track that is already clipping and squashed. So, the idea of a beat that is used in a multitrack session falls outside the 'hot dog waveform' zone.
As far as the -4 dB comment, feel free to provide references. You'll need to clarify whether you are talking about the final master of a track or simply components or stems of a multitrack production. For components or stems, I have previously posted what I shoot for:
my definition of healthy is an absolute peak between -6 dBFS and 0 dbFS (avoiding clipping)
That's all there is to it.
If you're talking about the mastering process that's a different beast altogether -- I read 'Sound of your beat' as a component of a multitrack session, rather than the 2 track master. The only thing I can think of for -4 as a finite maximum is when mastering, while using a limiter which does not compensate for intersample peaking (which is still not an absolute maximum itself - hehe). Otherwise, it should be more accurate to shoot for the range I mentioned earlier.

Trying to help a friend out with scripting problems in PS CS4

My friend at work has a mbp-c2d. He has scripting errors come up in photoshop when using Contact sheet II, photomerge, or HDR. He has recently upgraded from CS3 to CS4 and has had the same problem in both. He can goto the scripts in Applications- Photoshop CS4- presets- Scripts and click on the actual script icons and they will work but not through the program. Reloading programs doesn't seam to help. He is useing leopard.

I see that there are a lot of people who are experiencing the same problem I am when renting a moving from iTunes. I keep getting the 5103 error. Anyone ever receive a solution? System Clock is set correctly.

Has anyone ever received a proper response to the dreded itunes 5103 error after downloading a rented movie on iTunes? What's even worse is that I now can't delete them. They just show back up when I check for downloads. This has been going on now for over a month. Any help is greatly appreciated.

To those of you suffering with ATV

This is my story that might help some of you...
My colleague and I each bought an Apple TV two weeks ago and had very different experiences.
I plugged mine into my network and it worked immediately, syncing with my Alu iMac on 10.5.4
His, however, was another story.
We spent a whole week experiencing all the issues mentioned in this forum...
Sync then disappears, Invisible, port3689 error and so on
We went through all the usual stuff and still no luck until I went around there on Saturday determined to make the frickin thing work beore my colleague lost the plot.
His imac is a bit older than mine, the white intel one, by the way.
He had upgraded to 10.5.4, iTunes7.7, etc etc
I went through everything, router settings, etc etc then it started to click into place
Downloaded Bonjour browser and saw that there was a TCP entry for Itunes-ATV but not one for the ATV itself (on my system there were two TCP entries) so i reasoned that the problem was the Bonjour service
Also, no ping on ATV IP address from iMac.
I reasoned that the Bonjour service has been corrupted by a previous version of iTunes so even though he was on 7.7 we cleared it out completely, downloaded it again and fresh installed and reboot, all the while with ATV on ethernet to router.
On reboot and itunes restart there it was in the devices list, whoop! and indeed there were two TCP entries on Bonjour browser, and it started to sync, I then unplugged the ethernet and it also continued on wireless.
At time of writing, 24hrs later, even following a power cut, it is still on the devices list and syncing, my colleagues is considerably happier with life.
I think a previous version of iTunes or upgrade corrupted his Bonjour services and, try everything else as we did, it was never going to work unless that was resolved.
I hope this is of some help to some of you who are struggling with ATV. I really think that most of what is said about these issues are red herrings, for those that have tried everything else, I am convinced Bonjour service is at the root of the problem.
Good luck, because it's a great bit of kit when it is working and I am really enjoying mine.
And come on Apple, I shouldn't have to be resolving my friends technical support issues with your products!

I just wanted to respond to this thread one more time to note that everything seems to be working fine for me, now. I put all the suggestions here to use, but I went well beyond that, because things still weren't working.
My computer was constantly locking up, with the Dock freezing and the Time Capsule not doing its thing. After running Tech Tool and Disk Warrior, things still weren't right on my G4, and much the same on my wife's iMac.
I took the somewhat drastic step of reinstalling the original Leopard OS on both computers, then did all the updates to the latest versions. I reconfigured the wireless network with Time Capsule, too, but it still wasn't working right. Further digging around the Apple Support site led me to a very recent Airport update that I didn't know about, and that my Software Update didn't recognize. After installing this update (June 2008), the Time Capsule seemed out of commission for good, but it churned and churned, finally showing a green light. I then used the Airport Utility and set up the Airport Express, and all was finally well.
Now, the ATV syncs like it should, fairly quickly, and my wife's iMac is able to access the 'net at normal speeds.
I don't know absolutely what fixed everything, but I think the Time Capsule (Airport) update was crucial in my case, and I don't think it hurt to reinstall Leopard on both computers (which would also reinstall iTunes, for those who were considering doing that, as suggested by Vincent.
I really hope others who are having troubles will reach a similar level of success. ATV is such a neat device, and it really should be so much simpler to get it to work.

I am still persevering with JSC2 due to functionality. However my patience is really wearing thin with the app server. How many times in a sesion do I have kill it !! at least twice and hour. I have a top end PC and still it doesn't play ball.
Any chance of giving us tomcat or something that works?
I use both Eclipse and JSC2, and Eclipse(with another app server) has never given me a problem.
I am very, very frustrated with JSC2.

All I want is the ability to do at least one hours piece of work without having to kill the appserver and Creator. I don't think it is asking too much.
Coming from a background over the last 10 years of using GUI RAD tools, I expected too much from JSC when it was launched. Although SUN did hype it as the best thing since sliced bread!! Time has shown a different story.
It was very niave of me to think JSC could achieve the same of ease of use when putting together a web app. I have championed this product up until now and other of my "low level hmtl" colleagues have expressed an interest. They would laugh if they started using JSC. It is simply not commerical or professional standard as compared to Eclipse, etc.
Until the pefromance issues of JSC are sorted out, I will remain unconvinced about the products viability in the "real life" world.
And before anybody gets on a rant, I am trying to write a fairly sized commercial project of which I am getting well paid. Hence the frustration. This is not some novice putting together a hello world.
