Sun Webserver 7.0 Tech Preview - Provisioning VSs with extra variables.

Hi,
In my environment, I need to set an additional variable 'siteroot' on each virtual server. This is used with some pfx2dir directives in obj.conf.
Is there a way to do this via the CLI (i.e. wadm). I note there's a set-virtual-server-prop command that has an argument of variable, but can't find any real documentation on how to use the variable argument, or even a real guide as to what it is.
From the manual, it is: "variable - Defines an obj.conf variable for the virtual server." which I hope means it would do what I require, however, I can't actually manage to successfully use it. Everything I try, with the exception of just the single word 'variable' fails with an
i.e.
set-virtual-server-prop verbose config=hosting --vs=https-vsname variable 
returns
CLI201 Command 'set-virtual-server-prop' ran successfully
whilst
set-virtual-server-prop verbose config=hosting --vs=https-vsname variable=siteroot=/webdocs/vsname
(and anything else I've tried) returns
ADMIN3808: Error while setting the property 'variable' of element 'virtual-server':siteroot=/webdocs/vsname
Any suggestions on where to look for more information, etc are welcome..

Currently there are no provision in the administration interface to add a variable.
I will raise a bug for this and it will be fixed in a future release.
