Sun Workshop Analyzer Function/Modules corrupted

I am trying to run the Workshop analyzer on C++ code. However, the error message "Functions/Modules information corrupted" appears in the window of the analyzer and the time spent in each of the functions is listed as being 0.0000 seconds. I only get a general overview of the time spent waiting by the program.I compiled using the -g flag for debugging before analyzing. I'm sure the code is not this efficient. Does anyone know what the source of this problem could be?

Hi,
thanks for your answers.
I'll list what I did in case it helps someone else:
I tried the update first through "NetBeans update center".
I selected everything but that didn't solver the issue (I didn't see any explicit reference to dbx in the packages added).
Then I uninstalled sunstudio:
cd /opt
java -cp . uninstall_Sun_Studio_12Then I uninstalled netbeans:
cd /opt/netbeans-5.5.1/_uninst
./uninstallerAfter that, I noticed there was a second uninstall folder (my guess from sunstudio). So I uninstalled it too:
cd /opt/netbeans-5.5.1/_uninst2
./uninstallerAll 3 uninstall completed without errors.
There were some leftovers (mostly some netbeans modules and prerequisites) so I renamed the folders just in case:
mv netbeans-5.5.1 netbeans-5.5.1_old
mv prepare_system_prerequisites prepare_system_prerequisites_oldAt that point, I ran the installer again.
It tried to install but failed. Here's a small part of the log:
/tmp/installQIayVk/checkinstallSIayVk: /tmp/response.SPROfdxd: cannot create
Processing package instance <SPROfdxd> from </tmp/install-intel-S2/packages-intel-S2>
Sun Studio 12 X-Designer GUI Builder
(i386) 12.0,REV=2007.04.11
pkgadd: ERROR: request script did not complete successfully
Installation of <SPROfdxd> failed.
No changes were made to the system.
Error: pkgadd failed for SPROfdxd
...I was running this as root so I'm not sure why it failed.
I was reusing the installation files I extracted from the pkg.tar.bz2 under /tmp so I deleted everything and extracted it again from a different place.
I also deleted the .sunstudio, .netbeans and .java in my home folder.
I was previously using cygwin XWin to run the installer with the UI.
This time, I did it from a shell terminal (putty) and used the -nodisplay option.
It installed successfully.
Then I go back to the ui and sunstudio starts normally now: no missing modules and I have the dbx options in the menu
Again, thanks for your time.

  • Data Services XI3.1 function module files for SAP R/3 is not working

    Hi guys,
Thank you for the quick response so far. I am very grateful to you all.
I got an issue and will try to explain as detail as I could and
hope ur guys won't mind. :P
I pass the functions module to SAP tech guy to install to SAP using CTS
method, and using 900086.R63 file type because my chinese client is
    running SAP on unicode environment.
My DS installed on my laptop client; job server plus db2 is on HP
unix. SAP is on another HP Unix server. The function module I used is
    supplied from Data Services XI3.1.
Anyway, the installation is successfully done with GUI wizard windows of
SAP Workbench instead of tp command line method.
1)However, I checked the ZAW0 function group, I opened and can't see any functions
listed under it, although the table structures ZACTA, ZTAB2048 and other items
    were created.
2)So I tried to create SAP Datastore, Transport Target, etc and tried to
extract file. It failed and log said "can't open file ---
/db2/temp/curcode.txt". I checked and SAP working directory /db2/temp didn't have
curcode.txt, because the result file supposed to be extracted and stored there.
The SAP tech guy checked SAP and cant find generated ABAP program of
ZCURCD is running anyway, although my local CURCD ABAP program is
    created.
3)Is it the 900086.R63 not complete? Is my function installation correct? I could view data
on datastore, but just cant run job to extract. Another non-unidcode 900200.S08 group
has larger file sizes. Should I try to install also this 900200.S08 files? Will it corrupt SAP
    and cause system errors?
4)After that, I had tried to install the functions manually into ZAW0
one by one using cut and paste, however after that, I cant view the data view anymore with
error. Besides, I tried to run Check on the functions and they all returned
syntax errors, so I cant Activate any of them with SAP. Maybe dependency is missing??
Then, I deleted the manually installed functions and can view data again, but just cant extract
    data by job.
5)Another side issue is all these SAP datastore creation and viewing is
through DI 11.5 old installation. The new Data Services X3.1 unable to
create datastore with database error, although the function module
installed is came from Data Services. Does anyone know the issue?
Thank you very much to read it patiently. :P

    Hi,
Thank you for the informative link. It did help a lot in solving the problem.
    (1) to (4) --- The Sap tech guy didnt install the function programs correctly, and he redo the transport again using CTS. Now I can see all the functions inside the function group ZAW0. While for the problem of cannot generate extracted file to SAP working directory for downloading, it is due to unix directory access permission setting. And also have to include the ftp username into SAPSYS user group as the help link suggested.
    (5) For this problem, I reinstalled again the DS with all required components like Server Manager. The network technical guy helped me with the first installation, and the installation was not complete. So now the issue is solved, I can create R/3 Datastore with DS.

  • Use HIDE in Function Module.

    Hi expert,

    Pls advise. Thanks.

    <b>UCCHECK</b>
    <b>ABAP Unicode Scan Tool UCCHECK</b>
You can use transaction UCCHECK to examine a Unicode program set for syntax errors without having to set the program attribute "Unicode checks active" for every individual program. From the list of Unicode syntax errors, you can go directly to the affected programs and remove the errors. It is also possible to automatically create transport requests and set the Unicode program attribute for a program set.
Some application-specific checks, which draw your attention to program points that are not Unicode-compatible, are also integrated.
    <b>Selection of Objects:</b>
The program objects can be selected according to object name, object type, author (TADIR), package, and original system. For the Unicode syntax check, only object types for which an independent syntax check can be carried out are appropriate. The following object types are possibilities:
    <b>PROG Report</b>
    CLAS Class
    FUGR Function groups
FUGX Function group (with customer include, customer area)
FUGS Function group (with customer include, SAP area)
    LDBA Logical Database
    CNTX Context
    TYPE Type pool
    INTF Interface
    <b>Only Examine Programs with Non-Activated Unicode Flag</b>
By default, the system only displays program objects that have not yet set the Unicode attribute. If you want to use UCCHECK to process program objects that have already set the attribute, you can deactivate this option.
    <b>Only Objects with TADIR Entry</b>
By default, the system only displays program objects with a TADIR entry. If you want to examine programs that don't have a TADIR entry, for example locally generated programs without a package, you can deactivate this option.
    <b>Exclude Packages $*</b>
By default, the system does not display program objects that are in a local, non-transportable package. If you want to examine programs that are in such a package, you can deactivate this option.
    <b>Also Display Modified SAP Objects</b>
By default, SAP programs are not checked in customer systems. If you also want to check SAP programs that were modified in a customer system (see transaction SE95), you can activate this option.
    <b>Maximum Number of Programs:</b>
To avoid timeouts or unexpectedly long waiting times, the maximum number of program objects is preset to 50. If you want to examine more objects, you must increase the maximum number or run a SAMT scan (general program set processing). The latter also has the advantage that the data is stored persistently. Proceed as follows:
    - Call transaction SAMT
    - Create task with program RSUNISCAN_FINAL, subroutine SAMT_SEARCH
For further information refer to documentation for transaction SAMT.
Displaying Points that Cannot Be Analyzed Statically
If you choose this option, you get an overview of the program points, where a static check for Unicode syntax errors is not possible. This can be the case if, for example, parameters or field symbols are not typed or you are accessing a field or structure with variable length/offset. At these points the system only tests at runtime whether the code is sufficient for the stricter Unicode tests. If possible, you should assign types to the variables used, otherwise you must check runtime behavior after the Unicode attribute has been set.
To be able to differentiate between your own and foreign code (for example when using standard includes or generated includes), there is a selection option for the includes to be displayed. By default, the system excludes the standard includes of the view maintenance LSVIM* from the display, because they cause a large number of messages that are not relevant for the Unicode conversion. It is recommended that you also exclude the generated function group-specific includes of the view maintenance (usually L<function group name>F00 and L<function group name>I00) from the display.
Similarly to the process in the extended syntax check, you can hide the warning using the pseudo comment ("#EC *).
    <b>Applikation-Specific Checks</b>
These checks indicate program points that represent a public interface but are not Unicode-compatible. Under Unicode, the corresponding interfaces change according to the referenced documentation and must be adapted appropriately.
    <b>View Maintenance</b>
Parts of the view maintenance generated in older releases are not Unicode-compatible. The relevant parts can be regenerated with a service report.
    <b>UPLOAD/DOWNLOAD</b>
The function modules UPLOAD, DOWNLOAD or WS_UPLOAD and WS_DOWNLOAD are obsolete and cannot run under Unicode. Refer to the documentation for these modules to find out which routines serve as replacements.
    <b>REWARD IF USEFULL</b>

Hi, I have a similar situation.  Within VBA I am calling the RFC 'RFC_CALCULATE_TAXES_DOC'.  This RFC is used to communicate with external tax software like Taxware; it gets applicable tax rates, amounts, etc. based on tax jurisdiction code and other data.  The RFC is remote-enabled (has to be to talk to Taxware).
This RFC requires an RFC Destination in order to work.  Within VBA, I have not been able to figure out the syntax required to enter the Destination name.  I saw Shreeram's post saying to use CALL FUNCTION 'PRGN_GENER_EXECUTE_URL' DESTINATION <RFC Destination Name>.  However, this looks like ABAP syntax and not VBA syntax.
Does anybody know if this is possible within VBA?  Sounds like it's not but wanted to double-check.
    Thanks!!

    Hi! Rams,
I think the issue is related to Authentification Issue..Even though u did correctly please check once the below
    1) Check any Typo Erros are there while configuring or giving names in Lookups.
    2) please check Authorizations like ID and PWD and Sufficient Roles
    3) Also please check did u given paramters correctly while doing RFC look up I mean paramers , Binding parameters and RFC channel name and adapter type or Simple type it must be an  adapter
    4) In ID part while configuring Interface determinaition you need to give your RFC look Up name there also..Hence check whether u given or not if yes correctly or not
    5) Also remember one thing if your scenario is correct mostly you can know the result in mapping itself it seems while testing Message mapping and Interface mappings give your RFC look up paramters in the parameters tab present in TEST tab and later in Document tab give Input...and execute it works if it doesn;t works and if there is an issue with RFC you can get there only..ok
Also go through the below document::
I hope this will give u brief idea...
Also check with basis while taking SAP_ALL authorization so that first u ill came to know whether issue is related to authentification or RFC module itself remote enabled and also do SXI_CACHE also ocne to refresh ESR and ID objects..

  • Calling Function Module in Update Task

    Hello Experts,
Can anyone let me know about
Calling Function Module in Update Task.
Why do we use this " In Update Task "  ??
    How do we Use ??
    What is the Use... ??
    Kindly let me know....
    Thanks and Regards
    Pramod

    hi,
Why do we use this " In Update Task " ??
The main update technique for bundling database changes in a single database LUW is to use CALL FUNCTION... IN UPDATE TASK.
    How do we Use ??
A typical R/3 installation contains dialog work processes and at least one update work process. The update work processes are responsible for updating the database. When an ABAP program reaches a COMMIT WORK statement, any function modules from CALL FUNCTION... IN UPDATE TASK statements are released for processing in an update work process. The dialog process does not wait for the update to finish. This kind of update is called asynchronous update.
    What is the Use... ??
Asynchronous update is useful when response time from the transaction is critical, and the database updates themselves are so complex that they justify the extra system load
    Real time scenario.
Suppose a user wants to change an entry in a database table, or add a new one. He or she enters the necessary data, and then starts the update process by choosing Save. This starts the following procedure in the ABAP program:
Firstly, the program locks the database entry against other users, using the enqueue work process (or the message server in the case of a distributed system). This generates an entry in the lock table. The user is informed whether the update was successful, or whether the lock could not be set because of other users.
If the lock is set, the program reads the entry that is to be changed and modifies it. If the user has created a new entry, the program checks whether a record with the same key values already exists.
In the current dialog work process, the program calls a function module using CALL FUNCTION... IN UPDATE TASK, and this writes the change details as an entry in table VBLOG.
When the program is finished (maybe after further dialog steps), a COMMIT WORK statement starts the final part of the SAP LUW. The work process that is processing the current dialog step starts an update work process.
Based on the information passed to it from the dialog work process, the update work process reads the log entries belonging to the SAP LUW from table VBLOG.
The update work process passes this data to the database for updating, and analyzes the return message from the database. If the update was successful, the update work process triggers a database commit after the last database change and deletes the log entries from table VBLOG.
If an error occurred, the update work process triggers a database rollback, leaves the log entries in table VBLOG, flags them as containing errors, and sends a SAPoffice message to the user, who should then inform the system administrator.
The corresponding entries in the lock table are reset by the update work process.
Hope this is helpful, Do reward.

  • Questions regarding update function module

    Hello experts,
I am on customer site to help them investigate one issue: they have a background job which runs periodically.
In the report database table A is changed firstly ( new entries are inserted ), then a update function module is called via keyword CALL FUNCTION ... IN UPDATE TASK.
Inside the function module database table B is updated. ( existing entries are updated )
    Customer issue:
sometimes they find A is updated as expected, however B remains unchanged at the same time.
customer could not find exact steps to reproduce the issue. However the issue does exist there and occur from time to time.
the issue could only be reproduced in their production system, but works perfectly well in dev & Q system. It is difficult to debug in their production system for trouble shooting.
After analyzing related code, I have one doubt: according to ABAP help on CALL FUNCTION aaa IN UPDATE TASK, I know the function module aaa is called in a new update work process. I wonder whether there is any possibility there this issue might be caused because the update function module fails to get called at all? ( perhaps due to heavy system load so no free update function module could serve the table B update ? )
If update function module fails to execute, is there any system utility to record this? That is to say, will it be recorded in such as SM13 or SM21?
Looking forward to your expertise on this topic!
    Best regards,
    Jerry

    Hello friends,
Thanks a lot for your interests on this issue. I update all my findings:
    1. issue background: this issue occurs in SAP CRM Channel manageement Solution, software component CRM-CHM-POS.
    2. due to some limitations, the table CMSD_CI_HISTORY and history table are not updated in the same LUW. Instead the first one is updated in normal work process while the other is done in update work process. Since I am not the original developer I didn't know the whole complex scenario ( I did see this is done delibrately in note 1764006 - CMS:Sell In Release creating PB with zero available quantity ).
So for the moment we have to accept this design.
    3. during our testing ,we ensure COMMIT WORK is always called.
    4. So why sometimes the first table update fails, however there is no hint at all for this failure in the system like ST22 and SM21 ?? ( forget SM13, since it is updated in normal work process ).
The root cause is the flaw of SAP code below.
The code has planned to raise exception if insertion failed due to duplicate records to be inserted.
Unfortunately, the fact is if we use "INSERT db FROM TABLE xxx" to insert records into database and some record already exists with the same key, it will result in a termination but SY-SUBRC is STILL 0; Just compare it with single insertion using "INSERT db FROM <work area>", in the same error situation, processing does not terminate, and SY-SUBRC is set to 4.
As a result in this case even the insertion fails, line 29 will never be executed as sy-subrc is always 0. Since the insertion fails and the exception is caught without any notification, so customer sufferred because they do not know what has happened.
    Best regards,
    Jerry

  • How to call function module from IP

    Hi
I need to trigger the process chain from the input ready queries in Bex analyzer. I figured out that I need to call RSPC_API_CHAIN_START.
How do we go about in calling the above function module in IP.
    Thanks in advance
    I

    Hi Matt
Thanks for your response, it was very productive at the right time as we saw our process chain running indefinetly. With selecting all chars to be changed, it ran just once with no errors.
what is TA ? I know rsplan- transaction code for the planning modeler.
Can you tell me how can we call function module in custom exit planning function.
Where should I embed the code
    CALL FUNCTION 'RSPC_API_CHAIN_START'
                   EXPORTING
                     I_CHAIN             = 'ZPC_CCATOPCA'.
                   I_T_VARIABLES       =
                   I_SYNCHRONOUS       =
                   I_SIMULATE          =
                   I_NOPLAN            =
                 IMPORTING
                   E_LOGID             =
                 EXCEPTIONS

  • Multiple call of update function module

    Hi Everybody,
I have made implementation to the definition MB_DOCUMENT_BADI( material Document creation).
While executing this BADI I am getting short dum with this error  Multiple call of update function module.
    Here is the short dump--
In the FORM routine Buchen_Ausfuehren (program SAPMM07M), an error
message was issued by a Business Add-In (BAdI) or function module.
This is not permitted, because it could lead to data
inconsistencies. For this reason, the update of the material
document was also terminated with a termination message (dump).
Note that this message (M7 372) is not the responsible error
    message.
Please any body suggest the way forward.
    Regards,
    Sandeep.

    Hi Kiran,
    Thanks for the reply.
I have created one implementation to the BADI MB_DOCUMENT_BADI. This badi will hit while creation of material document.I have write the code in method MB_DOCUMENT_BEFORE_UPDATE such that it will act only for certain movement types specially for t-codeMb1a and MB31.
What problem I am facing i have used a error message "MB_DOCUMENT_BEFORE_UPDATE" in this method. If we got the erroe message then we dont need to post the material dcoument, but here problem is that if the material document could not posted then it corrupt the material and when we performing 261/101 we got error message like " Inconsistency between MM and ML for material and plant"
I have used following things like-
1-while updating the customized table using " Commit Work".
2-Call function vb_change_batch for updating the batch and not in update task.
    3. Dequeue the table after updating the table.
Will thos things can create any inconsistency to  the MM and ML.
    Please suggest me uor thoughts.
    Thanks
    sandeep.
    Thanks ,
    sandeep.

  • Use of input parameter of function module

    Hi,
we implemented an enhancement of a function module with a new inputparameter.
Now we would like to do some follow-up to see if our developers are starting to use this new parameter.
Is there a way to find this out? We can do a program scan on the name of this new parameter, but this does not seem to be enough.
    Thanks for the advice.
    Kris

    Hi Kris,
as described, you can do a where-used-list and expand the nodes.
This will not cover any dynamic calls.
If you want to know the real use of the new parameter, then you can implement a LOG-POINT in the function module, like
    FUNCTION xyz.
    IF NEW_PARAMETER IS SUPPLIED.
      LOG-POINT ID YOUR_LOG_POINT FIELDS sy-uname sy-uzeit sy-cprog NEW_PARAMETER.
    ENDIF.
You can create, activate and evaluate LOG-POINTS with transaction SAAB. It is extremely helpful for a lot of analyzing purposes as you can switch logging on and off for users and servers on the fly. If you know what you want to know you can leave the log-points in the program code and just deactivate logging.
    Regards,
    Clemens

FILENAME_GET     popup to get a filename from a user, returns blank filename if user selects cancel
FORMAT_MESSAGE     Takes a message id and number, and puts it into a variable. Works better than WRITE_MESSAGE, since some messages use $ as a place holder, and WRITE_MESSAGE does not accommadate that, it only replaces the ampersands (&) in the message.
FTP_COMMAND     Execute a command on the FTP server
FTP_CONNECT     Open a connection (and log in) to an FTP server
FTP_DISCONNECT     Close the connection (and log off) the FTP server
FU CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ     You can use this function module to display simple material BOMs. You cannot display BOM groups (for example, all variants of a variant BOM). as in transaction CS03. Current restrictions: You cannot display long texts. You cannot display sub-items. You cannot display classification data of BOM items for batches. You can only display one alternative or variant. You cannot enter an alternative for module CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ, so you always see alternative 01. The following example came from a posting on the SAP-R3-L mailing list.
    Example:
data: begin of tstk2 occurs 0.
              include structure stko_api02.
    data: end of tstk2.
data: begin of tstp2 occurs 0.
              include structure stpo_api02.
    data: end of tstp2.
data: begin of tdep_data occurs 0.
             include structure csdep_data.
    data: end of tdep_data.
data: begin of tdep_descr occurs 0.
             include structure csdep_descr.
    data: end of tdep_descr.
data: begin of tdep_source occurs 0.
             include structure csdep_source.

I suspect that the IOP directory tree has files that override the system libraries in /usr/include or the compiler's own C++ headers.
Try this: Add -H to the compiler options and direct standard error to a file. The -H option lists the path to every included file, indented to show what file causes an inclusion.
If you find that files with names corresponding to system headers are being picked up from an IOP subdirectory, that is a likely reason for errors like siginfo_t not being defined.
Another possible source of errors is providing declarations of standard templates, types, functions, or data in your own code. User code should never declare standard entities, but include the appropriate standard header instead. The reason is that implementations are allowed some leeway in how standard entities are declared, and the declaration you provide might not match the one provided by the implementation.
Another aid to investigating these problems is to replace the -c option with -E, and direct standard output to a file. The file will show the result of all file inclusions, expand all macros, and show where every line of code comes from. Given an error message about about a declaration, you can scan backwards in the file to find an eariler declarat on that causes the error message.
