SunBlade 1000 crash - software lost permissions

Our SUN Blade 1000 crashed and the drives were put in our backup system.
Now the permissions on some directories are off ( getting Permission denied on some directories ).
Did a 'mount -p' to look at the mounted disks and found that all the disks are in a panic state(?), listed
as onerror=panic. Is the only fix reloading the OS again with all the patches of is there another way to
fix this problem.

If you registered the software, your serial number should be listed in your account at Adobe.com.

HD crashed & I lost my whole iWork folder

I received a 2nd user permission to a friend's iWork software. When my iMac HD crashed I lost EVERYTHING. My Apple Care plan got me a new HD, but now I don't have iWorks. Any suggestions as to how I can get that back?

Hi,
What happened which causes the lost?
If you cannot do the step "undo move", the files may not be retrieved. You will need to get a data recovery tool to recover it.
Please understand that generally data recovery tools are not free. Also if you decided to use a recovery tool, do not write any file onto your drive C or the original file location will be overwritten and you will not able to recover.

Sunblade 1000 will boot from CD-ROM or DVD-ROM

I have Sunblade 1000 with a pre-installed Solaris 8 OS. I originally purchased the workstation without a CD-ROM. I bought an old Sun 411 CD-ROM. After installing the 411 CD-ROM, I entered "boot cdrom". Somehow it will not boot from the CD-ROM drive. When I do a "probe-scsi-all" I will often get "fatal scsi errors", but sometimes the SCSI info will be displayed, bizzare. When I type the explicit or long device name with the boot command, it still will not boot. After looking for solution in the Internet and exhausting a few UNIX friends from my questions, I called Sun. According to Sun, the only compatible CD-ROM for the Sunblade 1000 is the DVD-ROM, which is OEM by Sun,and usually ships with this workstation.
After, getting over the shock that Sun sold the Sunblade 1000 without providing backward compatibility, and suffering the humiliation of spending much need company resources for a potentially useless CD-ROM, we broke down and bought the DVD-ROM.
After spending $500 dollars for the DVD-ROM, the Sunblade still cannot boot from the DVD-ROM. If I boot from the disk, and after the system comes up, the DVD-ROM shows that it is mounted, I can browse it's content, etc.
I currently have the Solaris Installation CD in DVD-ROM drive. I also tried booting off the Solaris 2.51, and 2.7 CDs. Here are some info that comes back when I entered the various commands:

Lost permissions on WWV_FLOW_FILE_OBJECTS$

We seem to have lost permissions in APEX 2.2 to some of the internal tables. As seen below we can access a table in SQL*Plus with SQL but not through a procedure.

When I compare the object grants in our APEX instance and my fresh XE install on my laptop, there are a lot of grants in my XE instance that don't exist in APEX. Some of those grants are to the flows_* schemas. Could we have lost a bunch of grants somehow, and if so how can we get them back? Is it safe to copy the grants from EX to APEX?

I conclude that you have Application Express 2.2. You either installed it fresh or upgraded from an earlier version.
You also have Application Express on your XE database.
You observe differences in privileges (those you describe as "lost") between 2.2 and some earlier version, between 2.2 and XE or between 2.2 and the same 2.2 at some earlier time, I cannot tell which you mean.
The correct configuration is that no select privileges are granted to public on wwv_flow_file_objects$. Users are to use the apex_application_files view (wwv_flow_files) while using the SQL Workshop or from developed applications in workspaces. Access through SQL*Plus is not supported.

What is it you need - Windows installer disc or something else? Your question is unclear. Could you be more specific?

You should have been sycning them with your computer all along. Sync them from your computer back to the iphone.

Hello, Currently we are seeing this issue with a couple of our Lenovo T420s laptops with a Solid State Drive. ruffly about 10 or so. The Reboots happen randomly and do not create a dump file. We have contacted Lenovo and they are
not sure why its happening. Since this Crash I set it for Minidump this did not work my next steps will be to Disable Automatic restart on System Failure to see if it brings anything up. I am also looking at using Procmon to dump to a file as well.
If anyone has any other ideas please let me know.

We have tested and checked both the Bios and firmware of the SSD Drive's
Bios was up to date and no issue
Firmware was also up to date as well.
Users are still experiencing random Reboots.   I tried to capture the issue with Procmon but since the PC shutdown (Goes to a black screen no power at all even when turning the "Automatically
restart" off under Startup and Recovery) No dmp files as of yet. Unable to configure Procdump due to not knowing where the issue is and what is causing it to happen.
Going to replace one of the PC's with a New one with different hardware to see if this resolve the issue. If anyone has any idea's to be able to capture what maybe happening that would
be great.

Hm ... I guess I can't edit the post above. Anyway, I seem to have solved it by ...
Quitting iTunes.
Going into Home / Music / iTunes, and renaming the file "iTunes Library.itl" to "iTunes Library (corrupt).itl".
Entering Time Machine, and restoring the "iTunes Library.itl" file from a few days ago. I went back two days, which seemed far enough back to be "before" the problem but not far enough back to have trouble with recent acquisitions.
Re-opening iTunes - and everything seemed to be back in order.
So that's fine for now. We'll see if the solution is stable.
Very, very tentative assignment of blame: I believe iTunes crashed earlier today after I'd synced photos from my iPhone to iPhoto, and then iTunes crashed while iPhoto was closing (and taking its sweet time doing so). If that was indeed the case, that's at least the second time in the past couple of months that trying to sync iPhone photos to iPhoto has caused me significant problems. (The last time led to 80% of my iPhone suddenly being occupied by "Other", and a full restore of the darn thing.)

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, not good, then you can redownload some purchases in some countries.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I don't know how to fix the xml file or prevent it's damage except to keep a current backup copy of the domain.sites2 file. You can do that on an hourly basis with Time Machine or use a backup application like Synk Standard which can do incremental backup (i.e. copy just those new or changed files) at any time.
As for separating the sites into their own domain files I use iWebSites to manage over 75 individual sites. It lets me create multiple sites and multiple domain files.
If you have multiple sites in one domain file here's the workflow I used to split them into individual site files with iWebSites. Be sure to make a backup copy of your original Domain.sites files before starting the splitting process and move it to another location on your HD until you're satisfied the separation process is completed and what you want.
This lets me edit several sites and only republish the one I want.
There is a downside to this method if you're publishing to MobileMe. When publishing multiple sites to MMe from their own separate domain file the last published site will be the default site when using the default URL for that MMe account: http://web.me.com/MobileMeAccountName/. That could mess up any CNAME forwarding if you have a domain name pointed to your default MMe site.

How do I determine SunBlade 1000 Model Number?

I have a SunBlade 1000 for which I need to purchase memory. A couple of Web sites I have accessed require me to designate the model of the SunBlade 1000. The machine I have was given us by our customer and did not include hardware docs. It looks like the model choices are SunBlade 1000 Model (1600, 1750, 1900, 2750, and 2900).
Is there a way, somewhere in the Web world of SUN, given a serial number and/or a part number I can determine the model? I have been looking around and have not yet located such a page.

A Sunblade 1000 is a Sunblade 1000.
"(1600, 1750, 1900, 2750, and 2900)" are references to
single-600MHz-cpu
single-750MHz-cpu
single-900MHz-cpu
dual-750MHz-cpus
dual-900MHz-cpus
... respectively.
They're all Sunblade 1000 systems.
Compatibility may be more dependant on how current the OBP might be.
I suggest you flash-update it to the most current before adding any RAM.
