SunDS 5.2 patch level 6 and RHEL5

Does anyone know if DS5.2 is supported on Redhat AS5?

We had the same question regarding 6.x and was told support for RHEL 5 would be available with the new DSEE 7.x release.

DB space history not updating in DB02 after upgrading to NW7 patch level 11

We upgraded our NW04 system to NW7 patch level 11 and now when I go into DB02 and click on DB space history there is no new data since the upgrade. SAP_Collector_For_PerfMonitor runs every hour without error. I've checked st22 and there are no shortdumps and I can't find any timeout issues. Ideas?

You may need to a newer release of saposcol. Saposcol comes with your kernel, if you haven't updated your kernel recently that could be a conflict with your saposcol.

Problems with install 710 Patch level 15

Hi,
i have installed patchlevel 15 of GUI 710. Istallation was OK. When i check the Installation,
with tweak SAP GUI i get two error:
File not found: C:\Programme\Java\jre6\lib\ext\VERSION.ini
and
File not found: C:\Programme\Java\jre6\lib\ext\VCTK.ini
Has enyboby installed patch level 15 and get the same error.
How can i solve this problem?

If your running Windows 7, this patch will not work however 14 will. The updated patch will be available 1st quarter of this year from what my understanding is.

ACS with patch L 6 and Name column issue

Has anyone experienced the following?
My customer has used the migrate tool to migrate users from the ACS 4.2 to 5.3. He has also applied the patch level 6. However under the Identity Groups listed names (the Name column)- from some - to half of the name is missing [e.g lets say the name contains the following information: “Dimension Data”], after migrating only “Dimensi” to be seen. He then removed the Patch Level 6 and reapplied with no success. Any advice or do I need to run to the TAC ••J

Patch level 26 to 28

Hi,
Currently we are on patch level 25 and we are planning to move on 28th patch level.
Can anybody have idea what to be check properly in QA client in all the area, or any document.

There is no specific thing which u can check but i would say go through the patch details and check the functionality which is applied via patch level

Identification of headstart patch level

Hi
I inherited Headstart 5.x and Designer 6 repository, that I am supposed to migrate to 6i repository. Headstart migration guide states that Headstart 5.x must be at Patch level 11 and 12. I have media for patches 11 and 12, but I don't know if I should apply those patches or not i.e. how do I identify on what patch Headstart is.
Another question.
I do not have 5.x client installation. Since the old repository is already there, how do I install only the client without affecting the repository?

many thanks for your Replies.
As I see it now, there is no way to get this Information "out-of-the -Box".
I made copies of every old EXE Folder, so I took this Dates for the Kernel Change Day.
So I pay my penny and will write the next changes of the Kernel Patch into a Spread Sheet to keep this Informations.

Hi Sudheer,
On a Windows Operating Systems you can check the “Programs and Features” in control panel.You can see a list of both the Name and Version number of SAP BusinessObjects that is installed.
option 2:
Open CMC go to Settings. In the properties, you will find the Product Version.

Abap and java patch level

Hi,
I have a portal installed on a standalone java based on sp13. I also have a backend ECC5.0 on a web as abap (sp9). If I want to connect the portal to the backend ecc, do I need to upgrade the abap to the same patch level as the standalone java (ie. sp13).
Also, I have installed the portal via rapid installer, which has also created a new sld for me. If I want to add the abap as a new technical system in the sld, is it required that both the java (of which the sld is based) and the abap be of the same patch level? thanks!

If you want to connect to the backend system , both the Portal and ECC (Back end System ) need not be of the same pacth level. And you can also add the techincal system in SLD of diffrent pacth levels.

BI Content patch level on BI system and source system

Hi all, hope you can help
our BI and ECC6 systems are separated. My question is, do we need to be on the same BI_CONT patch level in BI and ECC6? Our current patch level in BI is 7.0.3 level 9 and in ECC6 we have not loaded any patches, however we have BI content which was delivered with the install.

Plan on applying the Linux and Solaris versions of all applications patches to the respective servers.

your filesystem, you must also apply the corresponding database and generation

You can see what patches have been applied to which nodes in OAM on the Applied Patches page. Oracle will not advise you to have patch differences, otherwise supportability comes into question due to partial patch application.

BI_CONT Patch levels and Transports

Our BI development and test systems are on a different (lower) BI Content Patch level than our productive system is.
Can this cause problems (errors) when transporting to production?

My transport included only specific and no customizing, just infocube, objects,... not Business Content developpments.

Diff Patch Level on External web and Source Server

Version - 11.5.10.2
We recently setup our external web server in DMZ on Linux while our source system
is running on Solaris.
We followed 238276.1 doc to migration the middle tier to linux. We were asked to check
both systems should have same Patch level.
I have doubts here
o Since we have only one DB Tier, and we copied APPL_TOP from Source solaris and
convert the files to linux. we installed IAS and 8.0.6 home from Universal installer
Is it possible to have diff patch level on both instances. as we have only DbTier
and the only way [ I know ] to check whether we have patch applied or not is
query to database or using OAM as it would show the same patch.
o if there is possibility to have diff. patch level then how can we detect this and what is the way to apply patches on one server [ Adadmin ? ]
o Can you please point me to any DOC which can give clarity how diff. type of patches
we can have in Apps.

DB6 is a SAP abbreviation for "DB2 for Linux, Unix and Windows" .
The DB2 version and FP level of your database server can be found in SAP transaction ST04 or DBACOCKPIT.
In SM50 you can view the work process traces to display the server and client level

we have checked for the status of support package in Transaction SPAM traffic signal is still red and in the Phase RUN_SPAU_? it is stuck and even after restarting import it shows clean-up phase is left and it ends with same error mention above
the support package name is SAPKB70014 size is 116266 MB now after restarting the Import the following error message comes
The import was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase RUN_SPAU_?,
which the Support Package Manager is unable to resolve without your input.
After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the
import by choosing Support Package -> Import queue from the initial
screen of the Support Package Manager.
The following details help you to analyze the problem:
- Error in phase: RUN_SPAU_?
- Reason for error: TP_CANNOT_CONNECT_SYSTEM
- Return code: 0255
- Error message: Could not connect to semaphore server
we run all the phase in background, and even after entering the support package number in transaction SPAU there it is showing
"No objects within selected filter parameteres"
Q.1 Any idea what went wrong and how to fix that?
Q.2 Is there any problem if we run the all four phases of support package in background or it should be run in dialog
