Sunray 3+ client cardreader and  Smartcard Login

[http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/Personalizing_Smart_Cards_for_use_with_the_Sun_Ray_Ultra_Thin_Terminals|http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/Personalizing_Smart_Cards_for_use_with_the_Sun_Ray_Ultra_Thin_Terminals] [http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/BzInIlGpwedVBJTjbgy5#uYC5bpypNXnzp0y|http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/BzInIlGpwedVBJTjbgy5#uYC5bpypNXnzp0y] I use Solaris 10 on 2 x X4450 with SunRay 4.2 sofware, and sunray 3+ dtu.
I want to setup the Smartcard Login for Secure desktop environments.
However, I don't see a connection between the Solaris Smartcard features and the SunRay smartcard.
Is it possible to combine this ?
Now the smartcards for the SunRay contain a User name, but is not connected to a unix user ID.
The Solaris Smartcard software does not recognise the smartcard reader of the dtu. Or at least I don't know how to make it work.
Kind regards,
Rene.
Update 30-11-2012.
I found a wiki link:
http://wiki.sun-rays.org/index.php/Personalizing_Smart_Cards_for_use_with_the_Sun_Ray_Ultra_Thin_Terminals
However, this is rather old.
Additional I found A contradiction:
http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/BzInIlGpwedVBJTjbgy5#uYC5bpypNXnzp0y
This is all Old stuff, but I did not find any newer info about this.
Is there someone who can put me on the right track ?

The utxsun script should be executed by the X Display Manager, which on Solaris 10 is dtlogin. So check that dtlogin is running. If it isn't, start it by doing svcadm enable cde-login.
If dtlogin is running and you still don't get past 26D then look in dlogin's error log file, /var/dt/Xerrors, for clues. Also examine SRSS's main log file, /var/opt/SUWNut/log/messages, for information about how SRSS itself is handling these sessions.

    Hi Pavan,
    Thank you for details,
I checked hostname for all PI systems and FQDN are maintained for them in "hosts" file.
Also one more point, it shows exeception when clicked on ESR or ID links:

  • Can I get password for client 000 and user SAP*

    Hi Experts,
Can get ur help for getting password for User SAP* for client 000 i.e SAP std. client.
    please it's urgent.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi ,
<b>If all the users are locked, they can be unlocked by</b>
a)Try this command at ur sql plus query level
    Go to cmd prompt.
    Sqlplus /nolog
    conn /as sysdba
this will take you to the sqlprompt.
Just execute the earlier commands there.
sqlplus><b>UPDATE SAP<schema>.usr02 set uflag=0 where mandt=<CLNT NO> and uflag=64;</b> this statement actually unlocks the users of that particular client. So, try for every client in that sap system.
    b) You can delete sap* user
    Go to cmd prompt.
    Sqlplus /nolog
    conn /as sysdba
    sqlplus><b>DELETE SAP<SID>.usr02 where mandt='CLIENT.NO' and bname=SAP*;</b>
    <b>Note:-
After doing this restart the system. So, that a new user with the name "sap" gets generated with password "pass". Provided the parameter is set login/no_automatic_user_sapstar= 0 (Automatic user SAP is permitted).</b>

  • ACC, File Realm and Default Login Module

    Dear Community,
In my first attempt at using ACC with File Realm, I discovered the following problem.
The container posts the login prompt as expected, and when entering a valid user name and password, this works as expected. However, if I should click the Cancel button or press the OK button with invalid user name or password, an exception is thrown.
I am uncertain if this is a bug in the container or a bug in the documentation. I have been studying Chapter Eight of the Developer's Guide. It says "Authentication techniques are provided by the client container, and are not under the control of the application client component. The container integrates with the platforms authentication system. When you execute a client application, it displays a login window and collects authentication data from the user. It also supports SSL (Secure Socket Layer)/IIOP if configured and when necessary. "
Based only on what I find in the Guide, this must be a bug in the container.
If anyone can shed some light on this symptom, please respond.
    Thanks,
    Gary

    Thanks, Tim.
I am using SJSAS Platform Edition 8.1 2005Q1.
I am looking in chapter eight of the Developer's Guide for specifics about four cases regarding the authentication thru the ACC where the ACC prompts the user for user name and password.
    1. Successful login (this is working OK).
    2. Incorrect user name or password.
    3. The Cancel button.
    4. Dismissing the prompt via the close window button.
There seems to be no information provided on these cases, so I expect the container to handle this on behalf of my component.
Here are the stack traces that I get for cases two thru four.
When I try an incorrect user name and password:

  • Network Shares, Mobile Clients, Kerberos and Single Sign On Woes

    Hi anybody,
I'm sure there is a really simple answer to my network share problems but I just can't seem to get them to work. Does anybody understand OD/Kerberos/SSO?
I am running 10.4.10 with DNS, AFP and OD.
My DNS is correctly configured, I can resolve IP into name and back again on server and client machines and it's not using a .local domain.
My OD is set up as a master with the correct LDAP search base settings, Netinfo is off for some reaseon but I can't turn it back on even if I wanted to. I have directory binding enabled as well as requiring clients to bind to directory.
My AFP is set to enable Bonjour registration and Authentication is set to Kerberos.
My client computers are able to access network accounts and my mobile clients are able to sync their home directories.
All seams to be working exceptionally well except for access to the shared network folders.
I am convinced that the network folder is set up correctly as I have RTFM many times and if I play with the acess settings such that anybody has read and write permisions, clients are able to access the data.
However, I wan't to reach my networking Nirvana where I can control access to the network share depending on group id. This shouldn't be difficult but it does seem unatainable for me .....
Having done a bit of trouble shooting and more reading, I can see that the clients are trying to access the share as an unauthenticated user ..... which is where it all goes wrong for me.
I thought that Kerberos SSO would have sorted this out but I don't think the clients are even trying to authenticate with the server as thay use the local Netinfo database to log in.
How do I get clients and mobile clients to do a Kerberised SSO at login?
    Anybody !
    Thanks in advance.

  • The mail server responded: sorry, the sender name and auth login doesn't coincide (#5.7.1)

I get the following message on trying to send emails from my yahoo account
An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: sorry, the sender name and auth login doesn't coincide (#5.7.1). Please verify that your email address is correct in your Mail preferences and try again.
    Help!

Check if the client connector used to connect with the 587 port is allowed to accept authentication on Plain Text.
Try a relay connector if you want to send the email without the authentication.

  • Mavericks server and network login

I try to set up a new Mavericks server with Open Directory so my clients can login through the network.
On Lion it worked very good and was easy to implement.
My computers are all on a large network and get their Ip-number fron a central DNS server. Because of that I do not want the Mavericks server to work as a DNS server, so this function is not turned on. (the same as on my working Lion server).
I set up my client computer and joined the open directory server, light is green, so it seems to be ok.
The problem is that I cannot login with a nework account.
    Clients are all 10.8.5
Is there a solution for this problem?
    Regards,
    Martin Bartels

    markuna wrote:
So far, so good. What puzzles me is the dot behind the hostname in the second query. Is this the root of all evil?
If so, how to get rid of it?
The trailing dot is actually a standard part of the DNS domain name.
It's been omitted or suppressed by web browsers for many years, so most folks don't realize it's even around.  The dot represents the root DNS servers.
These DNS root servers are the root of the DNS hierarchy.
DNS parses and traverses from right to left, from root to com to example to www, for instance, for the www.example.com or www.example.com. domain.
You'll sometimes see this syntax — with the trailing dot — referred to as a fully-qualified domain name (FQDN).
(There are some common parsing behaviors that can arise when a domain specification is not an FQDN too, but that discussion is probably best left for another time.)
If you'd like, you can enter the trailing dot in most any web browser — it'll be accepted.

How to configure an Alert or Notification, if the Client (SCC4 and SE06) is open and in modifiable state, we have spoken to our solman team and got the confirmation that there is no MT Class for SCC4 and SE06.
If this is possible through any z program, please do help and provide your comments and suggestions.

    Hi r,
Make sure you close iTunes before shutdown.  And you're quite welcome.

    Hi r,
It sounds like you're running Lion?
Have you tried running Verify and/or Repair Disk?
Have you tried running Repair Permissions?

  • Screen Sharing and Remote Login suddenly stopped working

I have had Screen Sharing and Remote Login turned on on my iMac for several weeks and they have been working fine up until now. I have been accessing the computer via VNC programs and command-line ssh logins from other computers on the same local network. When I tried to connect today, i was given the following error message.
ssh: connect to host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port 22: No route to host
I have all of the required settings turned on in System preferences and there are no firewalls or router settings blocking it. I connected the two computers together via ethernet cable and the error message still occurred.
I can ssh from the machine to 127.0.0.1, so the ssh server is running. I can ssh to other locations from the laptop i am attempting to connect with, so that's not the problem either. I just spent an hour on the phone with the apple tech support line and they couldn't figure anything out either. Can anybody figure something out?

have you tried the obvious - restarting the computers involved and the router?

  • Client dependent and client independent in ALE

I am going through pdf learning of an ALE scenario,i couldnot get wat is meant by client Independent and client dependent.
    How can i conclude
    Create message type (WE81){color:green} Client independent {color}
To create a new message type, follow these next few steps:
u2022 Enter transaction WE81 (ALE -> Extensions -> IDoc types -> Maintain message type for intermed. Structure -> Create logical message type)
u2022 Choose Create logical message type by double clicking on it
u2022 Click on change icon to enter change mode
u2022 Click on New entries to add a new type
u2022 Enter the required message type, in our case it is ZINVRV and an appropriate description
    u2022 Save and exit.
Your message type has now been created. The next step will be to link it to the IDoc.
    2.2.1. Link message to IDoc type (WE82 & BD69) {color:green} Client independent {color}
To link the message type to the IDoc type follow these next few steps:
u2022 Enter transaction WE82 (ALE -> Extensions -> IDoc types -> Maintain message type for intermed. Structure -> EDI: Message Types and Assignment to IDoc Types)
u2022 Click on change icon to enter change mode
u2022 Click on New entries to create the link
u2022 Enter the message type ZINVRV and the BasicIDoc type as ZINVRV01
    u2022 Save and exit
u2022 Enter transaction BD69 (ALE -> Extensions -> IDoc types -> Maintain message type for intermed. Structure -> Assign message type to IDoc for ALE)
u2022 Click on change icon to enter change mode
u2022 Click on New entries to create the link
u2022 Enter the message type ZINVRV and the BasicIDoc type as ZINVRV01
    u2022 Save and exit
Your IDoc is now linked to your message type. We still need to link object types and add the message to the model before we can use the message.
2.2.2. Maintain object type for message type (BD59) Client independent
The ALE objects are used to create links between IDocs and applications objects, to control the serialisation, to filter messages in the customer model and to use listings.
For our own message type and IDoc you must maintain object types for the links.
If you want to check the serialisation for the message type, then you must maintain object types for the serialisation. If no serialisation object has been maintained for a given message type, then the serialisation will not be checked for this message type.
To add an object type to our message type, follow these next few steps:
u2022 Enter transaction BD59 (ALE -> Extensions -> ALE object maintenance -> Maintain object types)
    DOC NAME: ALE_SCENARIO_DEVELOPMENT_PROCEDURE
    Version 1 Page 6 of 16
    ALE Scenario Development Guide
u2022 Type in your message type ZINVRV and press enter
    u2022 Click on New entries
u2022 Enter your object type, LIFNR (We need to use the vendor as a filter object), the segment name where LIFNR resides, Z1INVRV, a number 1 for the sequence followed by the actual field name LIFNR
    u2022 Save and exit.
You have now created an object that weu2019ll use as a filter object in the customer model to direct the flow of messages to the various logical systems based on the vendors in the filter of the message type ZINVRV.
We now need to add our new message type to the distribution model.
    2.3. Configuring the Distribution Model
This task is performed on your ALE reference client.
    2.3.1. Manual Configuration (BD64) {color:green}  Client dependent {color}
To manually configure the customer distribution model, read the ALE configuration procedure, and follow these steps:
u2022 Perform the Maintain customer distribution model directly function. (ALE -> Distribution customer model -> Maintain customer distribution model directly)
u2022 Specify the customer model you want to maintain and the logical system that is to be the sender of the messages OR create a new model. (Create model ALE with logical system ALELS1C400)
u2022 Choose the receiving systems to which the sending system must forward message type ZINVRV to.
u2022 For each receiving logical system allocate the message type necessary for communication to the receiving systems as per ALE configuration procedure.

A client is an independent business unit within an R/3 System, Data in the R/3 are classified as cleint-Dependent and client-independent.
Client-independent data such as ABAP Programs, R/3 repository objects throught the entire system. Other data is client-dependent. meaning, it can be viewed from one client. Cleint-dependent data includes customizing application and user data.
    Eg.
Scripts are client dependent, means the changes done to SAP scripts in particular client will not be reflected in other client.
Smartforms are client independent, means changes done in one client will be reflected in all the clients.
    Server : ECC6
    Client : 100 , 200 , 300 , 400
Now suppose you have developed report in DV server client 100.
Then you will be able to see that in all clients.
Hence this is called as client independent. You can change anywhere and changes will be reflected to all ...
Now suppose you have developed a script in DV client 100.
You will not be able to see that in client 200 or 300 or 400 unless ytou copy that from client since it is client dependent.

  • Client Copy and System Restore query

    Dear All,
I have few major doubt regarding client copy and system restor.
    1. In my Quality system there are 2 clients: 100 and 200.In my PRD there is only 1 client 300(other than the standard default clients). My doubt is during remote client copy with SAP_ALL profile from PRD to QUA why the space increases only in MB.
I have been asked the same question by my management. They are saying PRD is 300GB and QUA is 220GB then why the space increases in MB though all data is copied in client 200(QUA) from client300(PRD)
    2. If I delete client why the space is released in MB. Because according to them it should be in GBs.
    3. Now my third query is I have to restore PRD backup in QUA.So I said that this requires same <SID> and Same sapce in the sapdatafiles(OS is HP-UX 11.31 and DB is Oracle 10g).So I have to explain them why these two things are contradary to each other. In case of client copy space required is only in MB and in case of System restore of PRD in QUA sapce require is in GBs.
Your suggestions will be highly obliged.
    Regards,
    PG

Response > Because during client copy your customizing and other objects are copied.
The database structures, tables etc are already present.
    2. If I delete client why the space is released in MB. Because according to them it should be in GBs.
Response > Since client deletion is not same as deleting database /customizing tables .If you delete complete dataspaces/tables then there will be sizeable difference.Similar logic as Response 1

Response > Since in a system copy you will copy data files (which includes tables, and all otehr strucutres ) hence the size required will be similar to PRD.
