Sunray not connecting to VDI server externel DHCP server
Dear all,
my VDI server is ready. and having ip address as 172.25.40.39/24. my sun ray client is in the network having ip 172.25.30.83/24. as you can see both these ip address are in different networks. i mean it is not the same subnet. both the systems get ip address from same DHCP server. i am using our office DHCP server. in other words sun vdi is not configured as private interconnect.Does it mean that there are two scopes created in the DHCP server. and i can ping above systems each other. but sun ray client is unable to find 172.25.40.39 i.e VDI server.
as per our router administrator ip traffic is relayed between two scopes. then why it is unable to connect to vdi server.
Thanks

Server 2012 DHCP Server Failover - Hot Standby
Hi There
I'm running two Windows Server 2012 R2 servers, they are configured in a Hot Standby mode for DHCP Failover. ServerA, is the local server at the site and is configured to Failover to ServerB. But I'm having an issue where after the state of ServerA changes
from Normal to Communication_Int and then back from Communication_Int to Normal that it's no longer leasing any IP address to my Windows 7 clients until you restart the DHCP service on ServerA. I've replicated this in my lab environment as well.
1. Disable Network Adapter on ServerA or disconnect Network - State changes from Normal to Communication_Int. ServerA and ServerB loses contact.
2. Enable Network Adapter on ServerA or reconnect Network - State changes from Communication_Int to Normal. ServerA and ServerB re-establishes contact.
3. Connect new computer to LAN, or release IP on client computer, and then try to obtain an IP address\renew.
4. Client computers time out trying to communicate with DHCP server, but as soon as you Restart the DHCP service on ServerA the client machines obtain an IP address.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so is there a fix/workaround for this?
ThanksHi
Sorry for only replying now.....
Disabled firewall on ServerA, ServerB and client machine. Issue still occurring..... -
Hello,
we are currently migrating from Windows Server 2012 to 2012 R2 and are not able to get the new Direct Access Service up and running. Our goal is to establish DirectAccess connection for a handful of clients using the IPHTTPS-adapter on the default port 443.
Errors:
There is actually no error showing up. It seems the infrastructure tunnel cannot be created but none of the IPv6-transition adapters is connecting (teredo and 6-to-4 are down) and the IPHTTPs adapter gives no informations about a problem:
>Get-DAConnectionStatus
Status : Error
Substatus : CouldNotContactDirectAccessServer
>Get-NetIPHttpsState
LastErrorCode : 0x0
InterfaceStatus : Failed to connect to the IPHTTPS server; waiting to reconnect
Setup:
Our setup is a virtualized Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard running on Hyper-V. It is located behind a NAT having the Port 443 mapped to the server. The only role installed after the basic install is RRAS including DirectAccess and VPN. The assistants completed
successfully (running the configuration for DirectAccess and VPN). Operation Status says everything is green und working (for multiple days in the meanwhile). A previous direct access installation (on a different machine running Windows Server 2012) has
been removed before installing the new server. The new installation is using a different router, so this might also be the cause of a problem.
The client is a Windows 8.1 notebook located outside the company network accessing the internet through another NAT-device. The client has been able to connect to the previous DirectAccess setup but has never been able to establish a connection after the
setup of the new Direct Access server. The device has no outbound constraints concerning the NAT-device and is only running the integrated Windows Firewall.
Diagnosis:
So far I've done some basic DNS and connectivity checks. The DNS-name can be resolved correctly and the router even responds to pings. The port forward is working and HTTPs connections are generally possible (temporarily routed the port to
access the NLS-Website located on the server, which worked fine).
Network monitor shows that both computers are communicating, traffic on the expected Port 443 is incoming on the server and responses from the server reach the client.
Opening the IPHTTPs-url and in an endless page load. Sometime the browser page closes but I've never seen any result. Using telnet on the port shows that the server is accepting connections. I've even build a small test application that does a GET-Request
on the URL returning HTTP-200 and no content.
I'm currently running out of ideas what to do and since no error occurs this is kind of a bit frustrating. Any help appreciated.

Sunray unit connected to Linux Sunray server and Solaris Sunray Server
Hi,
Currently, I work in a development environment where there is two Sunray servers.
One server is running on Linux ubuntu and the second one is running on Solaris.
In order to connect to the wanted sunray server, the dhcp server is configured with the list of the mac address of the sunray units. So one sunray unit connects always to the same sunray server.
I would like to know if it is possible to have the two sunray server available from one sunray unit. And make the choice of sunray Server in function of the sun card inserted in the sunray unit.
- from my sunray unit A, if I insert my sun card AC I can open a session on the Linux server.
- from my sunray unit A, if I insert my sun card BC I can open a session on the Solaris server.
ThanksYou can do this by using an SRSS feature called "Automatic Multi-Group Hotdesking", or AMGH for short. For details read the "Regional Hotdesking" section in the SRSS Admin Guide and the manpages for utamghadm, ut_amgh_script_interface, ut_amgh_get_server_list and ut_amgh_free_server_list, and/or read the AMGH entries in [Bob Doolittle's blog|http://blogs.sun.com/bobd/].

PXE boot problem: guest VM DHCP request packets not able to reach DHCP server
Hi Gurus,
I'm wondering if anyone could help me with this problem. I wanted to install Linux on Oracle VMs using PXE. I set up a DHCP server and the OVM running RHEL6.4 box. The DHCP server worked fine since other PHYSICAL servers could get IPs from this DHCP server. However, DHCP requests from Oracle VMs was not able to reach the DHCP server. So I suspect this is a VM-specific issue.
If I type in "dhcp net0" on gPXE prompt on the OVS machine(sappire), I can see the requests were being sent from the OVS server (sapphire):
gPXE> dhcp net0

Window DHCP Server is not allocting IP to Voice Vlan
Hi,
I HAVE 3560 Switch, Over that two vlan configure Data & Voice respectively. Voice id Vlan 1 and Data Id Vlan 2.Routing is done on this switch and work as L3
DHCP Server is member of Data Vlan which is connected to another 3560 Switch L2. DHCP Server is reachable. On that both vlan configured.
Switch Port configure fr both Vlan ( Switchport access vlan 2 , Switchport voice vlan 1, Switchport mode access)
WHILE Connect any pc to port DHCP server assign ip frm Data Pool while Cisco Ip phones are not getting IP. OPTION 150 is configured in DHCP.
Over both interface IP Helper is configured and pointing to DHCP Server.
For testing point configure DHCP service on switch with voice pool range ;at that moment Cisco IP phone got the IP fron switch DHCP.
Now not able to understand why window dhcp server not assigning ip for Voice.
Both Vlan are in different subnet and having / 24.
Please guideHi,
Checked all configuration in network, apply packet tracer and found DHCP not responding on DHCP Req.
Replace DHCP server and now working fine. :) -
LAN was down ie Users are not getting ip from DHCP server after enabling DHCP snooping
Hi All ,
Enclosed file has network connectivity diagram.
1. L3 vlan's ie 2,3,4,5 and 6 are configured on ACC-CR1 and ACC-CR2.
2.Trunk is configured between Core switches ( CR1 and CR2) and access switches .VTP mode is transparent on all switches.L2 vlans are configured on all access switches.
3.DHCP is server is located at different location and is reachable over MPLS.
Without enabling dhcp snooping , users connected to access switches (Sw1,sw2,sw3 and Sw4 ) are getting ip address from DHCP server without any problem and everything is working fine.
But users connected to Sw3 and Sw4 are getting ip address from rouge DHCP server which is not pingable from any one of the switch.
So we have configured DHCP snooping for all vlan's on CR1 , CR2 , SW3 and SW4 and "trusted uplink ports" which are connected to WAN routers from CR1 and CR2 and also "trusted uplink ports " of Sw3 and Sw4 which are connected to CR1 and CR2.
As soon we have enabled DHCP snooping and trusted respective uplink ports , users are not getting ip address from remote DHCP server and even users connected to Sw1 and SW2 are facing same issue.
Note : DHCP snooping is not configured on SW1 and SW2.
Why users are not getting ip address from remote DHCP server as soon as we enabled dhcp snooping on Core switches and two access switches ie sw3 and sw4 ? what could have caused DHCP packets to be dropped ? Any idea would be appreciated .Hi,
as you say: " HSRP is configured between CR1 and CR2 and Vlans are active on CR1" does it mean there are L3 intrefaces configured in each VLAN on your CR switches and ip hepler-address pointing to the remote DHCP server is configured on each of them?
I know it's difficult in a productive environment but IMHO you need to find out where are the DHCP offers dropped.
Either by enabling DHCP debugging or by capturing packets via Wireshark, e.g.

DHCP server not running on startup
Hello,
I installed Solaris 10u7 on my fileserver:
SunOS sunshine 5.10 Generic_139556-08 i86pc i386 i86pcI configured DHCP as follows:
dhcpconfig -D -r SUNWbinfiles -p /var/dhcp -a x.x.x.10,x.x.x.11 -d example.com -l 86400
dhcpconfig -N 192.168.0.0 -m 255.255.0.0 -t 192.168.0.1
pntadm -A 192.168.0.2 -m myhostname -y 192.168.0.0where x.x.x.10 and x.x.x.11 are my ISP's DNS servers.
At this point the DHCP server works beautifully. But when I reboot, the in.dhcpd process is not started (or quits immediately, I can't tell), and DHCP is:
DHCP server enabled.
DHCP server stopped. No combination of starting, stopping, or restarting the service with svcadm or dhcpconfig -S can start the server. The commands report success, but when I query, the serviceis enabled and stopped.
But if I just try running in.dhcpd manually, everything works again, until I reboot.
I'm new to Solaris so I'm not sure how to debug this. Any help would be appreciated!

Could not connect to my sql server second instance
connection problem in sql server 2008 . i installed second instance
but it does not connect1. Make sure SQL Server Service is running
2. If a named instance, make sure SQL Server browser service is running
3. Make sure SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections
4. Examine the SQL Server error log for messages confirming that SQL is listening on the expected network interfaces and ports
5. Test server connectivity with PING from the client machine
6. Test port connectivity using TELNET or PowerShell to the server and port (from step 4) from the client machine. For example
a. TELNET <server-name> 1433
b. PowerShell: 1433 | % { echo ((new-object Net.Sockets.TcpClient).Connect("YourServerName",$_)) "server listening on TCP port $_" }
7. Check firewall settings if step 5 or 6 connectivity test fails

IPhone not connecting to Yahoo incoming mail server
My iphone is not connecting to Yahoo Business mail incoming server. I have checked the address, the host name (pop.bizmail.yahoo.com), the user name, and the password and they are all correct. I have tried using server port 995 and 110 and neither one worked. The exact message that I received after trying to check my mail is: Cannot Get Mail- The connection to the server "pop.bizmail.yahoo.com" failed. I have been able to connect just fine in the past and nothing has changed since the last time I was able to check my mail. I am also still able to check that same e-mail account from my computer.
If anyone has any ideas on what the problem may be please help because this one has me puzzled.I tried it, but it didn't do anything. It just stayed in the mail after the sliding screen went away. I have noticed something else to add to the problem; the mail app on my computer isn't getting the e-mails either and again it is the same issue as the iPhone so I am convinced that it is something with Yahoo, but I can't figure out what.
I should probably go into a little more detail, what I have is a regular yahoo account with e-mail. To go with this e-mail I have a business e-mail for my website I am hosting through Yahoo. I need to receive the e-mails from that business e-mail address. I am able to log-on to yahoo.com, sign in and get the e-mails from both of the accounts, it would just be a very nice convenience to go to my mail to check it and be able to use my iPhone when I don't have access to my computer.
I'm hoping somebody out there has an idea of how to fix this because I'm sure that I'm not the first one to go through this. -
DHCP Setup across multiple VLANs on RV325 - DHCP Server only working on VLAN 1
I have multiple VLAN subnets defined on my RV325 - when I try and utilize a DHCP Server on each VLAN, it only seems to be issuing IP Addresses to clients on VLAN ID 1. When I first set this up months ago, I thought I had tested it providing IP Addresses via the other subnets. Now that I am trying to do so, it isn't working "as expected". Example - I am using VLAN 25 as the GuestWireless subnet utilizing a separate 802.11n WAP that is set to Bridge connections to the IP Address of the VLAN interface. Devices are able to connect to the WAP, but end up with a self-assigned IP Address 169.x.x.x address. There has to be an easy fix to this, but I seem to be "stuck" figuring out what it is…pointers/redirects appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks - I've already reviewed that information before I posted. I've been working with DHCP since the mid-90's, so I'm comfortable with the settings/configuration I need to leverage to make this work via other means using various Network-based OSes.
I'm wondering if there are other options in configuring this device that can impact the ability to dynamically serve IP addresses on a VLAN/subnet-by-VLAN/subnet basis.
As I did more testing, I discovered when I reserved an IP Address via the IP & MAC Binding option within the DHCP Settings, those devices would receive their static reservations and work as expected, so the problem seems to be leveraging the DHCP Pool for devices connecting to VLANs other that VLAN 1.
Any ideas as to why the DHCP Pool's are "non-functioning" for the other VLANs is greatly appreciated...

WLC 5508 Internal DHCP server issues
Hi,
I am hoping to get your feedback around the dhcp issues I am facing with Two Centrally Switched Wireless LANs. I have tried to explain the setup and the problems below and would appreciate it if anyone can suggest a solution for the problems I am facing:
The setup is as follows:
- I have a WLC 5508 which has been configured with 4 SSIDs, out of which 2 are using Central Authentication and Switching.
- I have an LWAP connected to the WLC in HREAP mode.
- WLC is configured as the DHCP server for clients connecting to the SSID 'Guest'. For the rest, I am using external dhcp server.
- Only one scope for Guest Interface is setup on the WLC.
Problems:
1. As far as I know, for WLC to act as internal dhcp server, it is mandatory to have the proxy enabled, but the Clients connecting to SSID 'Internet' are
unable to get an ip address from the external dhcp server, if dhcp proxy is enabled on the WLC. If i disable the proxy, it all works fine.
2. DHCP does not release the ip addresses assigned to clients even after they are logged out.
3. If a machine which was earlier connected to 'Guest' SSID connects to the 'Internet' SSID, it requests the same ip it was assigned by the WLC which it was assigned under 'Guest', but gets tagged with the Vlan configured on the management interface.

I have a similar issue where Wireless clients are not receiving automatic addressing from an internal DHCP server. I have multiple interfaces configured on the WLC which are connected to separate VLANS. The manually specified DHCP primary server entry is the same on all interfaces. Some clients are able to authenticate and receive automatic IP configuration but some clients are failing the address assignment process. I have checked connectivity between the WLC and DHCP server, this is confirmed as working. When I carry out a "debug dhcp packet enable", I get the following outputs which seems as if the DHCP discover request from the client is skipped. Your thoughts and inputs on this are appreciated.

WRT160NL built in DHCP server and WEB server stop to work
Hello all!
My home network based on the WRT160NL with one wireline PC, two wireless PCs and wireless printer works with no problems - connections are at full speed, no drop outs, wireless and wireline QOS is perfect. But then quite regularly every two or three days suddenly the router internal DHCP servers stops to work - I see with the wireshark that my wireline PC sends the DHCP requests to the router but router does not reply to them. If at the same moment the other PC's are allready in use and got theirs IP before they can surf the internet uninterrupted. Only router reboot helps to solve this situation. After the reboot DHCP server immediately acknowledges DHCP request from the PC and assigns him his IP number.
Sometime this situation occurs when IP address is already assigned, I can surf the internet, routing works, I can ping the router but I can not access the router's built in web server. Neither via IE, neither via FF.
I do not use P2P programs, IP traffic over the router is very light - no internal traffic between PCs, no file transfers to the USB flash key and WAN internet connection is 1Mbs. I have upgraded to the latest firmware Ver.1.00.01.17. Nevertheless problem occurs quite regularly about every three days.
I try to reproduce the problem more frequently and there is the way how to do that - I start to watch IP TV on my wireline PC (usually I watch my IP TV via the STB connected directly to the DSL modem) so IP TV multicast now goes through the router. It is about 5 - 6 Mbs and about 500 pps of IP traffic. This IP TV stream very often causes internal web server and DHCP server to stop. So although I can watch IP TV and surf the web on my PC with no problems, if other PC's are powered up during this situation they will not get theirs IP addresses.
I see in other posts on this forum that similar behavior can be triggered also with the heavy read/write traffic to the attached USB flash key.
So my conclusion would be:
- are the problems above known to Linksys/Cisco, do they acknowledge them, do they work on them
- when we can expect new firmware release - can we expect new release for this model at all
Best regards

Message Edited by srus on 02-12-2010 04:14 AMRidcully thank you for your post, I did not execute the procedure you suggested. Prior to execute it I want to get more background on it? Why do you think that reconfiguring from the factory defaults would solve my problem? Are you 100% sure that this is the solution or are you just guessing?
Router offers backup and restore functionality where you can store current configuration into file on PC and latter restore it. Can I use this functionality in your procedure or should I reconfigure all router settings manually?
