SUP Evaluation System

Hi all,
i want to evaluate SUP 2.0 as part of an academic thesis.
Can anybody tell me if and how it is possible to get a SUP 2.0 evaluation license ?

I am also interested in it, since weeks I registered on their website, compiled several times the 'Request Personal Developer Edition' module, phone-called them...

Evaluation system with Solution manager

has anyone added an evalaution system where a user who logged a support message can evaluate the Solution given, with Solution manager. Basically the same thing like SAP have. When you close a call you have to rank the messageeg in regards of qaulity of answer etc etc..,
Anyone that might have any ideas how to do this, could you please give me some direction to how I can implement an evaluation system.
I thought of having a URL added to confirmation message, where the user can click on to take him to some area where he could evalaute the message. This systems is then linked to Solution manager so that I can report on these messages and the evealuation received for these support answers.
I will appreciate any feedback and any ideas would be most welcome to help me to get to a method of implementing such a evaluation system or developing such a system.

Dear Johan,
Firstly the kind of scenario that you are trying to implement is not possible via the standard configuration of Support Desk.
What I can think of is probably creating an action while closing the message which generates a form for the user to be filled and saves the values into an custom table for questions based on evaluation of the solution.
Later you can generate reports based on this table.

Evaluation System

Hi All ,
I have created project and assigned the logical component which includes 3 systems with DEV, Test and Prod roles .
When I define a Business Blueprint in SOLAR01 it opens by default a project with an "evaluation system" role.
My question is which one of the systems in my system landscape supposed to be an evaluation system, Dev , Test or Prod ?
What is the best practice ?
I know that is Evaluation system is designed for Business Blueprint phase , but what is really meaning ?

I've had the same issue with regards to getting the error below when assigning transactions to a Blueprint business process.
"No system found for component and Evaluation system in the Project"
But I think I have solved it and seems pretty simple to change the system role from Evaluation System to any other that is relevant in your landscape.
Go to transaction SOLAR01 > Click on the first level of the Project Name (Under Business Blueprint Structure) to select the Project.
Click Business Blueprint in the Menu > System Role > Choose the relevant System Role (in my case Development)
Click Copy
This should replicate to all nodes and then you should be able to assign transaction to the business processes.
Quite strange and seems simple, I checked the Solution Directory, Solar Project Admin etc etc but couldn't find the solution until this which should work.
If not, there is a similar work around which also works.
Go to transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN
System Landsacpe Tab
Systems subtab
Click System Role Assignment
Remove the Evaluation System (or all those not relevant to your Project and Logical Components)
Save Project
Go to SOLAR01 and it should reflect it in the Blueprint.
You can always go back to this and add the System Roles you removed and the Blueprint will reference the correct Role.

Hi Folks ,
Im facing this problem when im trying to Execute the T-codes from Solar01 of the Transactins Tab by Selecting the Line item and clicking on Execute button. Following is the Error and there no logs for it.
No system found for component and Evaluation system in the Project
Even i have checked with the RFC settings and Logical components are right
Please do suggest me - This is PRD issue . Try to do the needful .

Super duper system recovery

Has anyone used the Super Duper system recovery software? Any pros and/or cons to report?
Is it considered a necessity to have a bootable backup?

I assume you mean SuperDuper! which is backup software not system recovery software. You can use Google to search for reviews of the software as well as search the forums.
Yes, a backup should be considered a necessity. A bootable backup is a very convenient type of backup.
Basic Backup
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial - not yet universal binary)
2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
5. PsynchX 2.1.1 and RsyncX 2.1 (Freeware)
6. Carbon Copy Cloner (Freeware - 3.0 is a Universal Binary)
7. SuperDuper! (Commercial)
8. Intego Personal Backup (Commercial)
9. Data Backup (Commercial)
The following utilities can also be used for backup, but cannot create bootable clones:
1. Backup (requires a .Mac account with Apple both to get the software and to use it.)
2. Toast
3. Impression
4. arRSync
Apple's Backup is a full backup tool capable of also backing up across multiple media such as CD/DVD. However, it cannot create bootable backups. It is primarily an "archiving" utility as are the other two.

All you need do is remove a case cover, mount the hard drive in the enclosure and connect the cables, then re-attach the case cover. Usually the only tool required is a small or medium Phillips screwdriver.

Super slow system

I accidentally installed Leopard instead of loading the Mac OS X Install Discs 1 &2 that came with my iMac. Does this effect the speed of my computer?
I'm having some serious speed issues when using LimeWire or other programs.
Also, I have an external firewire 400 drive attached to my iMac, it seems to react and then "sleep" during use. Any ideas?

Not much. I didn't notice any significant speed difference after upgrading
to Leopard, except that a few things run much faster because they've been
upgraded to use native Intel code -- rather than PPC code via emulation.

Disable the disk-sleep option:
*System Preferences > Energy Saver > Put the hard disks to sleep when possible*
There are mixed opinions here, but I believe disk-sleep reduces the life
expectancy of hard drives. It certainly makes disk I/O less responsive.

Maximize LR CC Performance - Evaluating system info

Hello,
I have a fairly powerful Windows 7 machine and really appreciate the performance gains in LR CC. After taking a look at my System Information, I'm wondering if I'm making full use of my hardware. Below are some excerpts from my LR System Information and a few questions:
Logical processor count: 12
Processor speed: 4.0 GHz
Built-in memory: 65477.5 MB
Real memory available to Lightroom: 65477.5 MB
Real memory used by Lightroom: 754.9 MB (1.1%)
Virtual memory used by Lightroom: 728.6 MB
Memory cache size: 0.0 MB
Maximum thread count used by Camera Raw: 6
You can see that I have 64 GB of physical system RAM. Can I have LR use more than 1.1% of this?
Should I care that the "memory cache size" is 0.0 MB? Would a memory cache size greater than zero improve performance?

Actually all HDs and the % amount of space used may be useful. If any drive is getting quite full, then the entire system can slow down in my experience. A few times when my OS seems to be grinding to a halt, I've realised I need to free up some space on my storage drives. Macs seem a bit more sensitive to this it seems than PCs. Even if I have 150G of space left on a drive, if it's a 2TB drive, that is only 7.5% free space left.

Super-slow system clock on Acer Switch 10 (Atom Z3735F)

Hi folks,
I managed to install 64-bit Arch Linux on my Acer Switch 10. I noticed a problem with time (which may cause other problems like sluggishness of LXDM startup and switching between console and graphical ttys). Clock ticks VERY slowly, about 1 second per 4 second in real time. How can I fix this?

Problem is gone after installing xf86-video-intel and/or compiling a newer kernel (3.19) with make localmodconfig.
Unfortunately now I have another problem with tablet freezing at some point. This only happens in GUI - lxdm+lxde+chromium.

Vendor Evaluation

Business Requires that for Vendor Evaluation, the scores to be at material level for the same vendor which means if they put the vendor number in the report parameter , the system will give them the vendor performance at material level .
Example :
Materials A and B were purchased 10 times from vendor 100001 so the system will give:
The on time delivery for Material A as 100 % ( if he did good performance )
The on time delivery for material B as 50% ( if he did bad performance ) ,they donu2019t want the system to give the on time delivery for both the material as 75% (100+50 )
The benefit of this is that SRS can find out another resources for the material with bad performance .
Any Thoughts on that?

Hi Tafanzas,
The Vendor Evaluation system actually collects data on material level and then accumulates it for display in e.g. trs ME65. The data are collected in LIS and you can run the analyses from there using trs ME6H.

Error in Solar02 " Error - No system found for component SAP LEARNING.....

Hi,
I have selected the Business repository from the Tcode Solar01c, and i can see the list of configuration under Business Scenario,
when i am trying to execute any Tcode,(My understanding is that this Tcode must execute in Development system) it gives the following Error,
" No system Found for Component SAP Learning Solution and Role Evaluation system in project ZPROJ.
In SMSY i have created Two systems Dev :100 and Qas:300 Which are assigned to one logical component whose producted Version in SAP ERP.
Please advise by reviewing above scenario.

Is there an easy way to replace spry menus with jQuery menu system?

I just learned that Adobe is no longer using spry or that spry does not work on mobile devices. My entire site (built in CS5.5 moved to CS6) is built with 3 different spry menu systems. I have been told about jQuery, and many other menu system options. I work in design view and can copy and paste code, read code etc...but cant write it to save my life. I cannot seen to understsand how a different menu software system will integrate with DW especially when I use design view. My question is, is there an easy way to change my spry menu's? I have 2 spry menu bars, spry tabbed menus on EVERY page and a spry accordian menu that repeats on all pages. I am working with a template I built, so hopefully it is an easy fix.

Vendor Evaluation in SAP

Hi SAP Experts,
We want to implement the vendor evaluation system for all material and service vendors in SAP. We have evaluated the standard functionality in SAP and most of the requirements are met if we use the standard system. But we are facing few major problems.
Firstly it is regarding the evaluation level. The purchasing team wants to do the evaluation for each purchase order raised for the vendor. As per my understanding, we can do the vendor evaluation at the most at the purchasing info record level. This might not be sufficient for us.
Secondly, we have a lot of cases of Service POs where we dont have info records since materials are not involved. I am not sure if the standard system would work in evaluating such cases at each PO level.
Appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Evaluating the vendor at PO level meaning we want to evaluate the performance of the vendor for each PO / Service PO. We want a provision to enter the ratings for each criterion for each PO. e.g. Quality of material for PO 45_01 and PO 45_02 would be evaluated seperately. Then we would like to consolidate the data at the vendor level.

Vendor Evaluation Plant Wise

Hi Experts,
We have a problem, we have multiple plants against one purchase organisation. When we are doing vendor evaluation, system gives evaluation report at purchase organisation level, but we want vendor evaluation at plant level.
How can I get this, is there any work around available.

That's also true - but you'll get more power - and this is only a one-time thing to do.

Logger ConsoleHandler strangeness on System.out

Hi all,
I have been scratching my head all day trying to work out what is going wrong with the following code. It's the minimal test case I could come up with to replicate something we're seeing in our codebase. I'd be greatly obliged if somebody could please offer some insight.
In this code I am using the java.util.logging API to create 2 loggers. In the first Logger I am adding a custom handler which inherits from ConsoleHandler but redirects the messages to System.out instead of System.err. It's very simple, but I suspect there is a subtlety here which is the cause of the problem.
Both Loggers should inherit the parent logger by default... which should also spit out logs to System.err
However, if you run the code you will only see one piece of text output in your console and not 4 as expected. Basically, none of the System.err messages get printed! I've tested this on Java 5 in both Apple Leopard and 64bit Ubuntu.

Thanks for the Java 6 report. I thought perhaps it was fixed in Java 6 because I only seen this when I backported. Perhaps I just didn't notice it before now.
My preferred solution is still to copy the entire ConsoleHandler code into a new class and change the reference from System.err to System.out. The point of my class is to have logging on stdout through this handler, I don't want to see anything on stderr*
*actually I do want to see output on stderr, but only if the Level is high enough. By using a stdout handler, it can be set to capture at Level.CONFIG and then I have a ConsoleHandler (i.e. stderr) listening to Level.WARNING and above. But that's besides the point. I also have FileHandlers and all sorts for use in tomcat. It's best to have each Handler only output to one location.
