Super 8 camera effect

i using final cut pro 5.0.4 and im looking for a certain type of filter. i have it on my pc, with a pinnacle editor. it makes the film look like it was filmed with a super 8 video camera, like from 80s where it has the lines moving across the screen, with random shots of black dots and what not. it looks like its from a projector. i know that nattress has one, but thats 100 bucks, is there any other solution. let me know if u need a better explaination of what kind of filter im looking for.

you can use the cheesy film damage effect that is built-in to quicktime. but, if you're going for cheese than quality counts and i'll offer up a third voice of complete endorsement for nattress film efx. a hunnert bucks is cheap, CHEAP for this great set of plug-ins and while you're at nattress spending money, also purchase set one as the G Super Levels alone is more than worth the purchase price.

IPhone camera effect suddenly doesn't appear on album

I have had my iPhone 5s for about half a year now.
I take A LOT of photos especially with the "chrome" effect on, and until now, it worked just fine.
But I have noticed very recently that even when I take a photo with the effect,
when I actually click on the photo in my album, the effect would go away;
so it would appear that the photo was taken just with the original camera.
And when I send the photo through messages, the effect would not be there either.
What's funny is that when I just scroll down the album, the preview of the photo would appear to have that effect.
Plus, when I import the photo through iPhoto, the effect is still there.
It's just when I actually click on the photo to view it or send it that the effect suddenly disappears.
I have no idea why this is happening because it worked perfectly about a few days ago.
Now, all my photos – even the very, very old ones that used to be fine – have become that way.
I have tried resetting my phone two times now, and the software is up to date (iOS 7.1.2).
Is anyone else having this problem?

If you are having issues with your iPhone not applying camera effects correctly, and it sounds as if you have already tried resetting the phone, you may want to try restoring the iPhone as a new device. See this article -

Thank you for your reply. Sorry to bug you again but can I ask some further questions? Pls excuse my lack of knowledge on these things.
In relation to your points:
1) In the ftp publishing settings, public_html is acutal in where it says "site name", where it says "URL" I have http://www.gippmed.com. I was advised to put public_html in "site name" from my hosting. If I put anything else it publishes the entire site to a folder with that name on the server and is not viewable online?
2) I have removed the spaces in the album page name and will reupload soon. In relation to the image file names, am I correct in saying that iweb is naming them from the captions? Do you really have to use one word captions or use underscores, it looks a little odd? I have read troubleshooting articles about iweb and spaces and it also recommends similar as you are, suggesting that all page names should have underscore instead of spaces. Problem is, if for example I change the page name "About Me" to "About_Me" iweb automatically changes it in the navigation menu and this looks silly to have undescores in the Nav Menu. Is there a way around this?
Lastly, a new problem that I have never had before:
Previously, iweb would remember what I had published and only publish new site changes. Now, every time I turn my computer off and on, I open iweb and it doesn't recognise any of the previous publishing, ie it republishes the entire site.

As an Oracle trainer, I consider the OBEs to be very important. I doubt that Oracle will get rid of them.
However, it takes time to make them. I suspect that they are created when a new feature needs to be demonstrated and the product management has the resources available.
I just wish they would make the original set from Oracle8i available. They provided some very important basics which have long since hit the archive pile.
I'm sure that some of the ACEs would be happy to upgrade them to Oracle10g/11g level. I know I would be willing to contribute to that effort.

Hand held camera effect

I think i've worked this out but i wondered if there were any other tips.
I want to create a hand held camera effect in differing amounts from a very subtle one that looks real and would work well on say a talking head that has been shot on a locked off camera. to a more extreme version that could be used for a more edgy effect and when you don't mind nauseating your audience.
i've got it looking ok by changing the footage to 3d and using a camera. then using wiggle on point of interest with a few manually typed in z rot changes.
has anyone got any tips for this kind of effect. even mentioning what magnitude and frequency you use would be useful. as well as the kf animation types to get a natural feel

For the keyframes: Short intervals and linear. Even the best hobby filmer will not be able to hold the camera perfectly still for more than a few seconds and when your hand goes into a "fall", reaction is mostly abrupt and aimed at retaining the original centering. For the wiggle, you usually have two types interacting: A general, soft and slow swing for your entire arm, where the elbow or shoulder are the pivot, and then a more rapid jitter from your wrist and hand, further influenced by your pulse... At an average pulse of 85 bpm, this would be about 1.3 Hz. Your wrist can move vertically (hand aligned with body's vertical axis) about +/- 30 degrees, horizontally about +/- 80. Depending on how far the object is away, this can translate to just a few centimeters or meters based on how much jitters you have. You should however consider, that far shots are more stable due to how it better serves stereoscopic perception. And of course just like any other camera, wind and tremors e.g. from passing cars would also add an ever so slight variation... Generally there is no recipe, though. I would not overdo, as exactly this may look fake. As so often: subtlety is key.

TS4436 Problem with camera effects.. Browsed my gallery all my photo effects gone ?

Just noticed before uploading pictures that all my effects I'd applied on camera shots have returned to natural or no effect when I browsed the gallery , when you click edit however the picture is with the effect I started with and you cannot re apply it unless you change it ... Anyone else having this problem ??

I have te same unfortunate problem. Only happens in iPad. cameraRoll.browseForImage() opens a new window but wherever I touch (on folders, or anywhere on the window or out of the window) it dispatches a Cancel event and closes window.
I tried to dispatch flash.events.Event.DEACTIVATE, from nativeStage and from cameraRoll, before and after calling cameraRoll.browseForImage() , but still it was behaving same as above.
I tried setting displayState as:
Starling.current.nativeStage.displayState = StageDisplayState.NORMAL;
But no help neither.
It doesn't show any error, I don't have any other solutions to come up with. I feel that somehow I need to invoke application to deactivate, to let my touches focus on CameraRoll window, but I don't know how to do this actually (I tried to dispatch DEACTIVATE event from various sources but I dont believe it is an effective way of doing it).
I use AIR 16.0 with Starling, test on iOS 8.1.

Camera Effect

If anyone has seen 300 or any recent action movies there will be these fight scenes that have a particular camera setting or effect that is achieved with the frames. Its almost like they are converting the frames down to 15 frames per second or adjusting the shutter speed. Any recommendations on how to achieve this effect?

You might want to hunt down a user forum for that camera to explore the settings with people who know the machine, never heard of ti myself.
If great photography of great choreography of great fight simulations could be easily faked, there'd be no need for those well-paid artists or high-end technical resources like variable shutter speeds and frame rates and the people with the skills to make the adjustments.
Video is hard. Good video is really hard. anyone can shoot home movies.

IOS 7 Camera Effects

With the new IOS 7, When i try to transfer photos with different effects available while capturing the photos, they dont get reflected after transfer in my computer. The photos are transfered without any effect. Please suggest me proper solution. Is this a BUG.

I have the same issue it, had to email it to myself. iPhotp not even seeing it on the camera roll.

Hi Forum, I want to make a scene where you see a part of the screen as through a camera lens that gradually comes into focus. With a cross in the middle to mark the focuspoint.
Is there some simple way to do this?
Is there maybe an ready made effect to do this?

Oh, what a wonderful simple world we live in!
Sometimes - yes. PrPro's Titler is a very powerful feature. It does some neat things with Text, Shapes and Lines.
Add the power of animating Effects, like Gaussian Blur for your footage, and you can have some major fun.
One thing that Titler lacks, however, is a full alignment function. For tasks like that, I will either do the Title in PS (maybe even starting off in AI), and then bring the Title into PrPro, as a PSD. In your case, there are two icons in the Toolbox, that will be very helpful, Center Vertical & Center Horizontal.
Or, I use something like the "Grids" described, and attached in this ARTICLE. For PiP, I will do "alignment grids" for my PiP locations, so I can hit those perfectly every time.

I have had my iphone since 25th dec 2013, Christmas day basically! When i went onto my camera to see is it good quality which is very. I tryed to look for the effects at the side that come with the ios7? People have been telling me upadate to ios7.4 so now i am uppdated to that i still dont have the effect some body must know why please help.

How is it not working ? The kit is listed as only working with copying photos/videos to an iPad, but it can be used to copy photos from an iPhone to an iPad.

Mmh, yeah, it looks like the glider has simply been cut out, the background panned like a photo, then the surfer morphed into the new shot's start position. Not impossible to do, just labor intensive. You'd have to extract the person from the last frame as a still, then place and position it. Additional refinements would then be done with displacement effects, e.g. the Puppet Tool. For "real" morphing, some of it is possible using the Reshape effect, but if the shot gets too complex, then RE:Flex from Revision FX would be the way to go, but apparently it costs a lot of dough. The background is possibly just a sped up version of the real pan with some Directional Blur thrown on. If one could see the original footage, one might even detect some remnants of the original surfer... Otherwise of course it's easy to patch together a few photos and have them move this way to cover up the original source. Nobody except the original shooter knows what palm trees really were day on the day, if you get my meaning, and that being so in the video seems a convenient circumstance, don't you think? As I said, the biggest trick wil lbe to get a clean handover between the two instances of the surfer, the rest should fall into place much easier.

Keep camera effects in iOS 8

Anybody managed to do this except mailing it to yourself (which is not a viable option)? In iOS 7 I was able to do this after re-saving the picture in iPhoto (the effect remained permanent). But now, in iOS 8, iPhoto is no longer supported.

Advice on hand held camera effect

hi there,
I'm after some advice on creating a hand held camera wobble.
let's say i have a scene with a locked off camera shooting a talking head. i assume i make the footage layer 3D and then introduce a camera layer. but what kind off parameters should i look to animating? and also what kind of kfs (linear, bezier?), durations and amplitudes etc.
i suppose i should use the wiggler to randomise these.
I have asked this before and got some helpful advice about how the arm and wrist move, but i've tried to put these ideas into practise and i'm not quite happy with the results.
so, has anybody introduced fake camera wobble that they're really pleased with, and could give me an idea on how they did it?

I think i've installed it correctly using the pdf instructions, but the videos on the site won't play for me. missing QT plugin apparently, but my pc is telling me there is not a suitable on the site?
i've given it go with some footage in AE but it doesn't seem to be doing anything and no sign of any expressions.

Camera effect quality?

I'm using a Canon ZR 20 and a firewire cable. I recently noticed that the footage from my digital camera is much better quality than my camcorder. Sometimes I edit miniDV footage from other people's camcorders. Here's my question: Will quality be lossed by transferring their tapes with my camera into FCE?

No, it's a simple data transfer.
The difference between tapes will be rather the quality of the cameras that were used to capture the material, particulaly the lens and ccds.

Sure just don't have invert colours set to ON in settings/general/accessibility because there is no camera setting I know of to take negative pics unless of course you have an app doing that for you
