Super Laggy Gaming????

So I purchased a new airport express a yesterday and created a new wireless network. I've noticed that when playing games online (Call of Duty 4) and Counterstrike source (using crossover) my latency hangs around 100 (it used to be stay below 50) for about 5 minutes then it shoots up to over 500. The only way I have been able to fix is by restarting the airport. I never had this problem with my old belkin router and I have no idea what to try.
Any ideas?

You may have a hard drive problem. How full is it? OSX needs considerable room to operate; a rule of thumb is 15% free space.

Dreamweaver deletes objects (and is super laggy)

It took my 2 months to get rid of the slow laggy typing issue and now Dreamever decides to delete objects from my page. Every time I make a link, edit a photos properties, change a table, anything, as soon as it applies the change it deletes the object from the page. Luckuly I can "Command Z" it back but it is the most annoying thing in the world right now.
Also it goes through periods of being super slow to even select and highligh text or tables.
Please get a stable release out and forget all the fancy new stuff without making sure the basic functions work!

Why is my iPhone 4s super laggy?!

So I've had my iPhone 4s for about 2 weeks now, I upgraded it from the iPhone 3GS.
It was all fine and dandy at the start, (other than the price), but it's been starting to bother me since a few days back.
For example, it gets EXTREMELY laggy when I switch between apps.
Say, I end a call and it goes back to Music (iPod), there's still the green in-a-call indicator at the top of the screen. This has happened A LOT. Also, I was get that screeching distorted ringing tone when I call out and this comes and goes, but I am starting to get annoyed. My iPhone 4s is also not as responsive when I press the home or lock button. What's going on?! It was supposed to be an upgrade, but my 3GS worked better!
Also, Apple claims that the speed is faster than the iPhone 4, but heck, the speed of my 4s is about the same as my 3GS (after 2 whole years of usage!). So what's going on here?
Is it possible to ask for an exchange and hope that the new set is better?

No iphones at all work on the 4g network at all. none. No iphone at all. Apple does not amke an iphone that works on teh 4g network.
Not sure why you think that they do.
Look at your friends iphone and it will show 3g. There is no iphone at all on the 4g network.

Super laggy performance since last update

Ever since the last update my Final Cut Pro x has been seriously laggy. I open the application and literally can't do anything it just freezes and gives me the spinning beach ball. I tried reinstalling the application and still have the problem. Any suggestions?

Beachballing is by no means the general experience.
When there are issues, and although there can be multiple reasons, a few tend to stand out:
1) Corrupted preferences (see my previous post)
2) Inadequate hard drive - if you try more than just the most trivial tasks, especially if in HD, you need a fast external drive. The internal drive is constantly accessed by the OS; and an USB2 can't sustain a high throughput.
Use "Blackmagic Design Disk Speed Test" to test the speed of your HD. It will tell you how much it can cope with.
3) Insufficient RAM - consider 8GB minimum, 16GB if you can. You can get by with only 4GB, but as soon as free RAM becomes scarce, your mac will slow down to a crawl, and beachball constantly.
So don't assume that FCP X beachballs everyone every day - it does work wonderfully for a lot of people, of different abilities and needs. It is a great program if you give the resources it needs to work properly.

Super Laggy Playback Makes Editing Impossible - Help!

Hey all. I just started using Premiere a couple of days ago (switched from FCPX). I got my audio and video synced with PluralEyes and enabled multicam. Now I am trying to go through and edit the multicam footage by pressing play and then selecting the appropriate camera by pressing 1 or 2, but the playback is frustratingly slow and laggy. It's so slow, I can't see where I am editing. Premiere is basically useless for me at the moment.
My video files are .mov files from a Canon Mark II and a Canon Mark III. The audio files are .wav files from a Zoom H4n. I'm using a late 2008 Unibody MacBook with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB graphics, and 250 GB storage. All my video and Premiere files are stored on a 500 GB Toshiba external hard drive. I know this computer isn't ideal for heavy video editing, but unfortunately, it's the only one I have right now. I'm hoping to upgrade this fall to a more powerful MacBook. In the meantime, is there anything I can do to make playback in Premiere work so that I can edit my video? I tried setting the Playback Resolution to 1/8, but that didn't seem to help at all.

My first guess is that your Mac is underpowered for your footage. Perhaps your hard drive is not adequate, as well. I'd first try moving the video files to your boot drive to see if that might be the issue. If you still have problems, you might try transcoding to another codec, say, ProRes 422 or ProRes LT with Adobe Media Encoder.

Imac late 2013 laggy gaming when moving camera

Hey guys, on my 2nd late imac 2013 27 inch with the gtx 775m. I replaced my first imac because of yellow tinted screen....2nd screen has same yellow tint, if not worse so I decided to just keep it.
Anyways, with my first imac I got a week ago I noticed that in games on OSX, even with framerates of up to 100 (WoW, portal 2, TF2...) I would still get really choppy lag when moving the camera around my character, whether first person or not. I thought it might be fixed in my new one, but I get the same issue. looking at the GTX 775m specs there should be no frame rate dips at all in these games, and there isn't when running FPS monitoring. Is there a reason why the camera lags when turning it? I'm just confused, it really makes playing games difficult.
PS. This was happening on mountain lion and now mavericks as well.

How do I make video editing less laggy in PS cs6?

I'm using Photoshop CS6 to edit some video clips together, but it's super laggy. How do I make it so it's less laggy? Will putting my video files on an external harddrive work?
I'm using a MacBook Pro which is fast, but the video editor eats up my computer's speed like tiger.

Welcome to the forum.
First, what are the full specs. of those Video files? On a Mac, you can use the utility, Media Inspector, to get the full details.
What are the specs. of your MBP, and especially the CPU speed, and number of cores? The reason for this info, is that if you have any form of the H.264 CODEC in those Video files, you will need a very fast CPU to smoothly handle them.
As for the external HDD, that will depend entirely on the connection type/speed, and then the speed of the HDD itself - you want at least 7200RPM. For connection type, you want an absolute minimum of FireWire 800 (IEEE-1394b), and USB 3.0 (not USB 2.0), or eSATA will be even better. If you do not have H.264 material, then the I/O (Input/Output) will be the biggest bottleneck - with H.264, then the CPU is the biggest bottleneck.

4G online gaming doesnt work why? i need someone who actually cares to help me plse!!!

my modem is Pantech UML290 .i notice cannot play any online games...my old 3g modem works perfectly with the same games but this new service as far as online games or this modem apparently has issues...i have had nothing but problems, high ping rates and packet loss as well as jitter and no one with the exception of 1 service tech apparently cares...they only care that you can connect and brows web to a degree....i have spoke to 8 techs only one cares and states their is a problem....i have tested this on speedtest.com upload and download speed is fast remarkably fast but inconsistant, the ping is terible and jitter and packet loss is even worse...i am going to try to replace the modem as last form of troubleshoooting, if that doesnt work then 4g can go in the trash until they resolve the problem....they advertise online gameing and video streaming for 4g...i cannot do online gaming will not even connect to game host due to high pings and data loss...and yet the new service wich is supposed to be much better and support online gaming doesnt work and my 3g device works without a problem, can play games all day long without i hitch and no one from tech can explain why....sounds like a problem..i have spoke with several people on forums they have all said the same thing....release tech and dontr know how to fix the problems....the response you will get is all we care about is that you can connect and view the web!!! wow so when i buy a car i guess all they care about is the car moves, they dont care if the ac worrks or anything else does to...thats the way its been explained to me time and time again...except for 1 tech... the games that i have tried to play is BATTLEFIELD BAD COMPANY 2, CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE 2 , STARCRAFT 2, noNE will work, note been playing with old 3g device and service for over a yr with no problems!! I live out in the country and have no high speed internet so i bought the pantech UML290 and I have been able to play on the 4g network right out of the box. Plugin, install, and go. I Play Bad Company2 and my ping is usually 142. I connect to a chicago server from okc and my gameplay has improved so much more. I get 2 to 3 bars in my house and it flys on web pages. I had the at@t lightning 3g and my pings on the same server were 185 but spiked up to 999 and back down to 180's . I love this UML290 and do not have Idea why you are having problems. I would return the uml and get another one. You might make sure the other communication software is uninstalled and worst case scenario, reformat the hard drive and start with a fresh install. Can you give a description of your computer specs ? Is this going through a cradlepoint router ? I would be happy to try to help, I know how much it sucks have a laggy gaming experience.

WRT54G and multiple wireless machine (including gaming)

I had bought (as you can clearly see in the subject ) a WRT54G, as I wanted one to play online with the Wii and Playstation 3 (Mario Kart and Battlefield: Bad Company, in case you're interested ).
I also bought a Laptop (I was on a roll ), with <drum rolls> Wireless Support (duh) ... I was thinking though, comparing it to the Wireless-N series ... will I have any problems in games? Or will I have performance decreases? When someone is browsing and downloading via the laptop, and another person is playing a game ... will that affect each other?
What I mean to say, if you want something like this router for doing this stuff, is it a good router, or just acceptable? Will an N-router be a WAY better choice?
I still have a problem setting it up too, but that's a different issue. Sad isn't it ... starting CCIP, and having problems setting up a home wireless router .

I know a wireless N router can do the same.
What I mean is, is it reliable for online gaming? I have this WRT54G router, and I want to use it for gaming and a normal use of a laptop, but who knows, maybe also streaming videos (I tend to watch game and movie trailers). For me that's just "normal" use, I don't plan to download huge load of data with this connection, therefor I got a wired connection. And even if I had only a laptop, I'd connect it to a Ethernet port directly on the router.
I was playing Battlefield: Bad Company yesterday on the PS3, and I got sort of a laggie connection. With these console gaming, it's not usual it seems to connect to a server you want to connect to, but you're just connected to one. I have no idea what the ping response to this server is, and I can't see any troubleshooting methods on it either.
To be clear, for this use, and next year we'll be moving to a new house with concrete walls / floors, now it's wood ... what is best to do, to ditch the WRT54G and get a 160N ? Especially the gaming, I just don't want to get used to laggy gaming.

Xbox live experience

Can anyoneon BT Infinity tell me what their experience is with xbox live and in particular 1st person shooters like MW2 or Black Ops. I am currently with Virgin and their P2P throttling has completely ruined online gaming. Its super laggy and if your host (which you often are with the 5MB u/l speed) the game lobby is often terminated as the other players have terrible connection to you and awful lag.

Why is my ipod touch 4G unusually slow?

So I have a 4th generation ipod touch. I updated it to IOS 5 from IOS 4.3.5 a couple months ago. It's been really, really, slow and laggy to the point where it's something I despise! I upgraded from 4.3.5 because my ipod was pretty slow and applications always crashed; I thought IOS 5 would fix all that, but, I was wrong! With IOS 5 my ipod's battery life ***** (I charge it to 100% and then 15 minutes later it tells me there is only 20% left), it's super laggy (closing out of apps is painful and I have lots of problems with the lock screen. The screen freezes all the time), Safari is slow as a snail and so is other web-based applications, and apps crash constantly. Simply swiping from screen to screen is painful! Then I upgraded to IOS 5.1 hoping it would fix things but...no...
I've tried a clean restore to factory settings, which didn't help at all. I make sure I close the apps I'm not using. I do not have so many apps or music. My wifi/internet connection is quite good. I don't know what is going on!
My ipod is second hand from my cousin and it WAS jailbroken, but not anymore. My warranty is also up. I've noticed other people have been experiencing the same issues but the thing is, my friend also has a 32GB 4th gen ipod touch on IOS 5.1 that runs smoothly and is very snappy and responsive, unlike mine. She has WAY more apps, photos, and music than I. She's had her ipod for longer than I have.
So does anyone know what is going on? Any other ideas? Thanks a lot!

Maybe the solution is that you iPod is slow is because you are not closing your apps after you use them. To do this you must:
1. Press the Home Button to get out of that app
2. You will return to the Home Screen
3. Click the Home Button twice, (do this quite fast, But not TOO fast)
4. A bar with all your apps that you have come out of will be on the bottom of the screen
5. Hold down one of those apps
6. They will start to "jiggle"
7. A little red circle will be beside all of the "jiggling" apps
8. Press that little red circle and those apps will close (NOTE: This is NOT deleting your apps)
9. Now you apps are closed NOT deleted
10. Your iPod will now speed up in: Browsing, downloading, syncing and much more
11. (Bonus) - To DELETE an application do the same thing ( But not clicking the Home Button twice) and all of your apps which you downloaded will "jiggle" and there will be an black circle with an X in it, click that X to DELETE that app and a dialog will pop up and say: "Do you really want to delete this app?" If you want to: Click yes.

After updating my Ipad Mini to IOS 8.02 videos keep on crashing and getting constant lag

I have recently updated my Ipad Mini to ios 8 and it has not been cooperating. Whenever I try to watch a video on netflix or youtube it will crash after like 30 seconds or so. Also, when I try to click some buttons its super laggy to work. Thanks

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the nature and scope of the issues you are describing. If you are having multiple issues after a recent update to iOS 8.0.2, you may want to first try resetting your device:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If you are still having issues after a reset, you may want to make sure you have a current backup of your data in iTunes, then try restoring your iPhone to factory settings and testing it in that default condition to see if the issues persist before restoring the apps or your data. Why does my Macbook Pro run slow if it's not on the Charger?

My macbooks running terribly slow and I've tried everything. The only thing I've noticed is that it runs faster on the charger. The mouse is super laggy and it's been like this for a couple weeks now. I restored my whole computer, clear cookies, ran updates, cleared disks, etc. Has anybody else had this problem before?
