Super slow internet and bad gaming.
Okay my dad is super occupied and he doesn't have enough time to fix this problem, so it's up to me.
We were trying to improve our internet quality so we bought a netgear modem. As soon as we did so our internet quality decreased by about 200%. Download speed used to be anywhere from 500-850Kb a second now its anywhere from 20-150. Online Gaming is also really bad.
So we gave up and decided to Return NetGear and but Airport Extreme. It's really no better. I think that in the switch from our old modem a setting got switched or something, I really have no idea.
Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone help?

Try running the Network Diagnostic Tool (NDT) while hardwired and then make sure to click the details and post them here.

Who can help to live, or slow internet and large packages
I have slow internet(mobile gprs 10 kBytes/s). Updating packages like "kde-wallpapers" or "kdeartwork-wallpapers" take a long time despite the fact that the contents of the package no major changes. If you do a binary diff, for example on the "oxygen-icons" you can only download about ~300 kilobytes. Can support in the pacman binary diffs of packages, and on the server generating diff`s of these files by utility xdelta3? Or make it a separate utility (such as yaourt) which will download the differences and generate packets, and pacman will install it.
Who now cant help me, please generate diffs(from testing kde 4.9)

Previously, I had a 100 Mbps channel. Moved to another house, now have only gprs. I do not want to change the distribution, and not on that. I think many people have slow internet and problem like my.

Super Slow Internet Browsing with Airport or LAN and networking activities.
The people at AppleCare are awesome and way polite. But I am a new Mac user and still in my 90 day apple care plan and have not been able to convince anyone that my internet connection on my MacBook is Super Slow. I have quantified it (350k - 550k download and 150k - 250k upload depending on my location), whereas at work right next to my older PC (which I am still using to go on line with since it is more like 3-5mb download) and my Desk Top PC and My Laptop PC are both more than three times faster for internet browsing and network transfers. The Airport on my MacBook seems to be faster than using the Ethernet cable (which I find weird), but they are both more than three times slower than my PC's no matter where I am working.
Which brings me to my next issue, simply changing channels on the router is not the solution because while I can do that on my router at home or at my office. I can not walk into Starbucks or into the school library or my friends houses and ask them all to "fix" their routers for me. These MacBooks need to get fixed.
This is frustrating and I am still waiting for a real solution.

Extremely slow internet and staying connected
I got Verizon internet almost 2 weeks ago. Ever since then it has been nothing but one problem after another. It cuts out so many times a day. I have to reset the modem 20+ times a day. Its very frustrating. I tried talking to customer service about it and they dont do anything, all they say is to go to the troubleshooting page and look around on there. I am ready to cancel because it is getting ridiculous. My modem is the Actiontec GT784 and it has built in Wifi, which cuts out as well. And the speed of the internet and the Wifi is extremely slow when it is connected. SOMEONE HELPPPPP!!!

Been noticing that my internet is slow, especially on websites that source a lot of small pictures (rcgroups dotcom for instance).
Tonight for the heck of it I went to see if there was a FW update and saw that Linksys has 1.21 available.
Was surprised to see my modem is at 1.20 as the last I remembered it was at 1.15 and working great. Read that 1.21 has bugs.
So, the question is:
- is 1.20 a problem with my slow internet? FTP's UL and DL are fast, and my VOIP testing is good, but internet pages are laggy.
- Why isn't TM pushing out 1.21?
- Should I go back to 1.15?

DaveWell, T-Mobile did push out 1.00.15 at one time and I certainly didn't put 1.00.20 on my router, neither did my 10 yr old daughter.
MTU is currently at 1365 when I changed it over a year ago.
Speed testing on DSL Reports gives respectable #'s. It's web pages with a lot of different content that is laggy. First the banner, then the headings, then the rest. Even this Linksys forum section is doing it.

Start with the manual and searching the online help system. Also search here and the creativecow.net for links to some fabulous Motion tutorials.
Super slow motion is not necessarily available, the term is relative. If you're shooting 30fps, you ahve only 30 discrete slices of each second and, even with advanced tools and lots of processing time, you can only expect to get mediocre slow motion. If you are shooting 120fps you have the temporal resolution, the basis, to process buttery smooth slow motion.

Super slow computer and doesn't shut down
Hi all,
I think it is only fair to come and share with you an issue I had with my 2011 Mac Pro runing on Lion 10.7.3. The computer is just a few months old. For a month or so I started experiencing a SUPER slow computer. To illustrate, it would slow down suddently and would take 10 minutes to give me the About this Mac info. After hard shutdown it would get normal again for a few hours. This happen usually while using Google Docs, and after trouble shooting and not getting anywhere... reseting power management (SMC), etc... Just to test I de-activated the Kaspersky Anti-Virus software for Mac, thinking that it may have been the cause while working on Google Docs... and it work!
One problem solve... but I run into another one. The computer would freeze after shuting down, and the screen would be gray with the little turning wheel... Every day from there I had to do the hard shutdown... not healthy for the computer of course... After re-installing the operating system, going back and forth with Apple Care Specialist (very helpful and nice people), and spending hours figuring the problem out... I decided to un-install completely the Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Mac, but downloading the 'free' version and using the un-installer from the package... After this my computer shuts down everytime and goes to sleep normally. This saved me from formatting the HD and doing a clean installation of Lion - which was my next step if things didn't work according to Mac support.
I still have the Kaspersky for the parallels side of the computer and that doesn't seem to be an issue. I hope this saves some people the trouble, the frustration and the MANY hours of trying to figure it what's wrong with the computer.
I have read many blogs, and articles and none of them pointed at Kaspersky... I found issues with Parallels, Office for Mac, etc but I guess after the last Lion update thing went south with the anti virus software... and of course my computer! Now we're all happy again!Something is causing it to not shut down, more than likely some process that refuses to quit. Do all of your applications quit when you shut down or do you have to force quit any of them? You also should look in your console messages and see if perhaps there is a clue there.
When you ran Disk Utility did you get the message that the "drive appears to be o.k." or did you get some other message?
Do you have problems with freezing in general or just when you are installing applications? When you say freezes do you mean you get the spinning beachball or does it freeze and you can't do anything including moving the cursor?
Do you use a lot of widgets in Dashboard? Sometimes they will cause problems. If you have loaded any of them recently you might try removing them and see if that helps with the shutdown issue. -
New computer = slow internet and email
A few months ago my Dell laptop motherboard died and since it was still on warranty Dell sent me a new laptop. I also use a wireless router. This computer has way more capacity and memory than my previous computer and so far so good. Except: When I try to delete emails in Outlook that come from a website, it takes FOREVER. It sits there and spins and sometimes I get the "not responding" message. I'm attaching some messages I occasionally get in Outlook. I also have that slow problem when I'm browsing web sites (Firefox). It's intermittent but especially toward the end of the day it slows down and sometimes just doesn't respond to anything. If I shut down my browser and restart immediately the problem goes away. Yes, my virus scan is working; I regularly clear my browser history and use a cleaner to remove useless files. I'm trying to give you pertinent information since I just am not technologically smart enough to even know where to look for the cause of this problem so please keep any responses as non-techie as possible. Can anyone help? It is so aggravating!! Thanks!!

Super Slow Internet paying for 75/35 and its slower than dial up
I switched from optimum to Fios to get the faster internet. It worked for a few days and then its almost impossible to even send and email.
I have switched out the router, had a tech come out and replace the ONT. the techs dont know whats wrong, i asked for credit since I'm not getting what Im paying for. When I told them this, they said they dont have a problem on their side so no credit. I really dont care about the credit I JUST WANT WHAT I'M PAYING FOR.
After 7 PM at night it's even slower. It crawls so slow, the service just stops and i get disconnected. Tech support never heard of this happening, but now another service tech is coming out.
I see alot of other posts on the web with customers having the same problem, so Verizon must know there is a problem,but doesnt have a fix. Am I wasting my time trying to get the faster speed???
Has anyone gone through this and had it resolved???? I sometimes have to go my local starbucks and send emails and work.

Super slow internet connection with time capsule.
Time Capsule wireless internate speed is insanely slow its super anoying, i have 15mb from comcast, and speedtest its scoring under 3.5mb down and 0.06mb up with a ping of 1025ms yees 1025ms this is unacceptable its almost impossible to use the internet please i need some help.
How can I get my time capsule to work like it used to?
Your TC is too old.. the power supply is on the edge of dying. The hard disk is probably also on its last legs..
The wireless card itself might be nearing EOL.. it is now 4years old.. or a bit more.. most stuff now is really not made to last more than 3years.. and the early TC tended to die in droves at 2years.

I have several suggestions. At various prices and difficulty.
I would replace the hard drive.. it is out of warranty and has run in a super hot environment that is outside its spec.. and still it refused to die.. at the very least run a full pass erase from the disk utility, and see if error come up or the drive is slow. It might be weak read areas of the drive.
Frankly .. unless you like the challenge, it is simply time for a new one. -
How do I fix super slow internet - all browsers are affected
There is some problem with internet connectivity with my MacBook Pro, but I cannot figure out how to resolve it. Speedtest.net is measuring my internet speed at download speeds of 0.88MBps and upload of .84Mbps. Other devices utilizing the same router also via wifi (my husband's MacBook Pro for example) are running at 4.08MBps down and 0.86MBps up.
I've tried many things, but I must be missing something and do not understand what is causing the problem. Please let me know what I need to do to resolved this.
Symptoms are occurring across multiple browsers (see list below), and I also tried the iTunes store and it was also extremely slow to load.

Mail program also exhibits a lack of getting and downloading new email that I know if should download, because it shows up on our iPhone. Attachments in Mail have also sometimes been blank with zero bytes, but if I restart Mail, sometimes those attachment then have data in them.
The Mail problem seems to be possibly intermittent, but the internet browser speed is really a significant and consistent problem.

Shut down computer, System Management Controller - SMC and Reset P-RAM. After restarting after this last bit, speedtest.net clocked in a 4MBps when I first launched Safari, but 2 minutes later, it was slow again at 0.93MBps.

15" MacBook Pro 2.8 GHz, late 2009 model running OS 10.9.5. Software Update - everything is up to date. Including the Security Update 2015-001. Internet was slow before this last update as well.Safari is not the only browser that's slow. Will Safari slow down other browsers even if Safari is not running? Right now I'm using Chrome after restarting and it remains very slow.
Nonetheless, in Safari:
In "Top Sites" of a new tab, I held down the Option key and clicked the "x" for every single top site so that the list is empty. No change noticed. I also emptied the folder for cache website previews in the library folder, but that has made no noticeable change after restarting.
What do you mean by "sharing your devices?" Do you mean a network? I don't have any podcasts, I don't know what you mean by this? I also don't understand refreshing automatically? I'm not running iTunes right now.
I have taken a screen shot of Activity Monitor after restarting and this is what shows for CPU. What data specifically are you looking to analyze in Activity Monitor? -
Very slow internet and email designated an "Apple" problem by my server
I have had my mac mini for about 15 months and recently it has become unbearably slow especially on the internet. I have DSL and only have one computer. Most of the time I am not able to send emails before it times out.
My provider, AT&T, yesterday did several tests and told me that their services are working fine as is my DSL box. The lights on the box also indicate that it is working fine. During yesterday's test with AT&T they had me go to another website to get the speed of my sending and receiving. Sending was 295.1 kbps and receiving was 373.1 kbps. The tech said this was extremely slow and was puzzled that it was so slow, but gave no help other than that the problem must lie with my mac. I don't know what to do. I am now using the local library's computer in hopes that someone will be able to give me more assistance.
As further information, last week when I first noticed problems I was having trouble shutting down the computer. It would take several times of initiating the shut down process before it would finally shut down. It appeared at that time that a program called "mirroragent" was my problem. It was causing the shut down to be terminated. However, I have been able to get very little information about mirroragent other than it is part of the idisk or .mac programs. I tried stopping all automization of idisk sychronization, but that failed to help.It sounds like you have plenty of free disc space.
The processes by root are important, there are many things that run in the background on the machine even before any user logs in.
You can sort the process list based on CPU usage, to see what is currently active and using up the most CPU power when the computer seems to be running slowly for no reason. Launch and quit an application and watch what happens to the CPU usage, does it go down to low usage when you have quit all other applications, or is something running pegging the CPU meter when you expect the machine to be idle?
Also, there is an internet/network activity panel that should indicate if there is any active upload/download activity on your computer that you might not be aware of.
ClamXav is a free file-scanning virus utility, not sure it can detect and stop an active virus running in your system, but you can scan previously downloaded files and documents to see if it finds anything, it's more of a preventative tool. I kind of doubt that is your problem though.

Photoshop Elements 13 is super slow, skippy, and has brush lag; please help!
I have used PSE 13 and PRE 13 on my laptop, which has Windows 8.1 and so forth and they worked very well on that system. However, when I installed Elements onto my desktop which is brand new and very powerful, it continues to lag/go unresponsive and slow my cursor down to the point of being impossible to really use , and if I do manage to get it to work remotely I have a 1-2 second brush stroke lag. So even though Elements 13 works fine on my laptop which is less powerful than my desktop, I can't get it to perform on my desktop.
I have tried uninstalling as well as updating and checking for catalogs, bad fonts, etc. although I have not been able to actually use the program to be able to really set up any of the sort.
I have tried solving this for hours and looking into forums, but can't find any answers. It's very frustrating and so I really hope I can get help on this!

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00 GHz
16 GB RAM

I also try to watch streams however it is usually constantly buffering every 5 seconds on any quality over 240p. I have tried restarting both my modem and router. I am sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with this. Has this happened recently? I was able to check the connection history and it does seem to be much better for the past week. If the issue comes back let me know, we might need to have a tech check this. -FC -
