SuperLumin Nemesis - anyone make the move yet?

Hello all,
I was looking to see if anyone has made the move to SuperLumin Nemesis to replace their BM server(s)?
I am currently looking at replacing my BM servers with SuperLumin and was looking for any suggestions.
I am thinking I will removed the mirrored drives of my current BM server and replace them with 2 new drives and setup a SUSE Linux 64 bit box for SuperLumin and place it in my secondary location for initial testing.
Does anyone know of any guides to setting up SuperLumin Nemesis in a Netware environment? I would really like to take advantage of the 64 bit and moving forward with a Linux solution.
Our current setup is:
File and print servers: NW 6.5 SP8 and eDir 8.7.3.10
BM Servers (2): NW 6.5 SP7, eDir 8.7.3.10 and BM 3.9 SP2 - running in their own OU that is partitioned.
One of my BM servers has basic internet access out setup with NAT and one DMZ. The other BM server has Internet access with NAT (static and dynamic), VPN configured and 2 DMZs setup.
My thinking is I will just replace the simpler solution for testing with SuperLumin.
What other impact should I be looking for? I know when my 2nd BM server was down (water damage, time waiting for parts to arrive) - a lot of users get their eDir credentials confirmed through this server, I had quirky issues with dirve mappings not working perfectly but if I set their preferred server to a different server, everything worked flawlessly.
Any thoughts or ideas greatly appreciated.

Greetings from SuperLumin development. I wanted to comment on your questions about installing SuperLumin Nemesis, disk configuration, etc.
The SuperLumin proxy prefers individual disk spindles for the cache drives. This allows the highest throughput rate as we can control the disks individually. Many customers still want to have the OS drives in a RAID 0 configuration. In this case, we recommend that they mirror the first two disks for the OS and then the remainder of the disks are presented as a JBOD that the SuperLumin proxy can control individually. This is all assuming that you are doing hardware level RAID.
Also, our installation program lays down the SLES 11 OS for you. There is no reason for you to pre-install SLES 11 and then the SuperLumin proxy on top of it. Our install program does a complete reimage of the server and lays down both.
To install into a NetWare environment, all we really need is access to eDirectory via LDAP. Assuming you are using Novell ClientTrust, you would also want to manage the installation of the SuperLumin Single Sign-On (SSO) client. Our SSO client listens on the same port as ClientTrust (port 3024), so you would need to put some thought into how the users would migrate from ClientTrust to the SuperLumin SSO client. Our client can listen on a different port (e.g. 3025), so that may be an option for you.
To get the greatest performance out of the SuperLumin proxy, we recommend that you put 8GB or more of memory in the server (isn't 64-bit great) and at least 2 drives dedicated to the cache. Note that these two drives are distinct from the drive(s) used for the OS. So you would need 3-4 (or more) drives depending on if you mirrored the OS drives or not. Since this is a 64-bit platform you can add up to 16TB of memory and 64 cache disks. This allows us to scale very well.
One final note. Our VPN solution will not be complete until January/February of 2011. We have the VPN software in place. The ability to manage the VPN from our tools will come in January/February.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

How do you make the movie icons smaller in the new iTunes?

I recently updated my iTunes to the lastest version (11.0). In the previous version I could adjust the movie icon sizes to make the icon larger or smaller. I can't easily figure out how to do that anymore. Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the movie icons in the new iTunes?

If there is an option for adjusting the size of the movie icons, I haven't been able to find it.

How do you make the movie button a screenshot or miniature movie?

When my main menu comes up, I want to add the first 6 or so episodes of a TV show. But When I drag the movies onto the screen, only a text button shows up. I could have sworn that some time before I got the video to show up as both text and a screenshot of that specific video. I'd love to have it so all six episodes have both the text title and a miniature playing movie from that episode, but I wasn't sure how to do it.

Did you first click on the lower right button's tab and select the one button style you want and thereafter add your QT movie. You should be able to get all six QT movies on there but if not just come on back.

I am looking for the Justin Timberlake movie, In Time, but it doesn't appear on iTunes. Why is that? Is this common with other movies from certain studio/production companies?

However I selected to particpate in the Muse Private Beta program months ago, following the instructions that you have described here http://www.adobekb.com/participating_in_muse_beta.html, yet I have not received any communications and therefore cannot access the new Beta.
In an attempt to overcome this I have accessed Muse today, 'opted out' of the Private Beta and then back in, only to find a message stating that no Beta was available, and still no email notifications???

ENTER makes the movie skip around the timeline

I have a multiline text box for data entry. If the user hits
enter in there for a new line, the program jumps to a different
place in the time line. I checked to see if this was something I
had inadvertently programmed in by creating a new test program with
a few key frames and no text input. The enter key jumps me around
in there too. How do I get rid of this behavior?

I believe your problem is the Enter key under previewing
mode. When test movie, Enter mean play :-)
So, check if it also happen in published swf.

Bt Infinity - How best to make the move?

Some advice please. A FTTC cabinet has appeared in my street with an expected RFS date of 31 December. Currently, I have an ADSL2+ connection with an independent ISP and a phone line with Talk Talk. After considerable thought, I am ready to move to BT Infinity when the service becomes available but I understand that this will require me to revert my phone line back to BT. As I am keen on the Infinity Option 3, how should I proceed? Do I just place an order (with a MAC) and levae it to BT to sort things out with my ISP and Talk Talk or would there be any advantage in my moving my phone line across before Infinity becomes available? Thanks.

Ifinity option 2 is what you are after.
Do you transfer all now or later or split it up.
That has to be down to you. How long has the cabinet been there, is it powered up and ready for service. If not it can still be months away.
If you bring it all over now you can upgrade to Infinity at any time you want, it would just be a new contract.
If you decide to leave it till later, be aware that a lot of dual installs, Line and Broadband/Infinity fail with the Line being installed and broadband/Infinity having to be activated days later.
I have no doubt that some people will say that there dual install has gone okay, but there are many where it fails.
[edit] As regards the MAC, In your situation with the Phone line being with TT and your broadband being with another ISP and you wanting to come to BT, I can only suggest you talk to both BT and your ISP, but a MAC is free anyway, so i can see no problem in requesting a MAC and then giving it to BT if wanted.

You need to connect your iPad to your computer's iTunes. If the iOS 5 update isn't then automatically detected and you aren't prompted to download it, then select your iPad 'device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and on the right-hand side on the Summary tab click the Check For Updates button

Hey everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Davie Dynamite. A professional producer from Canada. I've been using a windows based system with Sonar for many years. Recently upgraded to X1 Producer, and I like it alot. I'm endorsed by OpenLabs so I use their Miko LXD exclusively.
Recently, I have been having a ton of problems within Sonar. I realize problems and bugs are inevitable and that isn't my problem. My problem is the lack of customer support for such issues. I have not been able to get Openlabs or Cakewalk on the phone for over a week. I have a deadline on this project and I can't get my rig to function properly.
In my personal use, I use Mac products. I have been thinking of a switch and running Logic Pro on a Mac in my studio.
I imagine this may be a biased setting considering lol But what would you recommend? Is Logic a professional grade product that you would recommend to someone who values the companies support for it's customers?

One more thing: of course Logic won't become "Garage Band Pro". Apple won't offer a lot of improvements in Logic 8 and 9 (new features, improved features, loads of bigfixes etc) only to remove pro features in Logic 10. Apple already has a 'dumbed down' product: Garage Band, built from scratch after the Apple takeover but sill based on Logic'd audio engine.
They may improve GarageBand, but I can't see why they eg. would send out a questionaire to Logic users about Logic wishes (in 2009 or 2010), or visit pro studios and discuss future Logic improvements if what they want is to downgrade it.
The FCPX situation seemed - more than anything else - like a communication problem: they didn't announce that the revamping of some of the features the original FCP had are still being worked on, and that if people needed these features, they should stick to FCP for now, and not assume that everything in they used in FCP was already implemented in FCPX.
Another reason it's very unlikely that something similar will happen with Logic is that Apple already did this with FCP, resulting in very negative response from many users.
Maybe there will me major changes in Logic 10 - for instance, if they are working on a merge of OS X and iOs, all the Apple apps may be heading towards a new user interface, touch screen ready and all that, but this would IMHO be a good thing. And even if a totally revamped Logic would be announced this month, it would still be a good idea - for pro users - to hold on before strating to rely on it, because all revamps/major changes come with a set of initial quirks.
You could still use Logic 9 for a year or two, even of Logic 10 would be announced tomorrow. And due to all the (10!) subreleases of Logic 9, Logic is in better shape than ever, also in terms of stability and bugs. I may sound like a fanatic Logic fanboy (and I actually am, and have been since version 1!), but both in terms of features, price and stabilty, this is a brilliant time to start out with Logic! :-)

Looking at picking up 15" High-res anti-glare, anyone do the same?

So I had the 15" 2011 2.2Ghz HIgh-res glossy which is a beauty all in its own right. But I sort of got hooked on using a 15" Anti-glare for work and looks really solid all the way around. One thing I always worry about with traveling with my MBP is the glass getting scraped or scratched or cracked, etc. ontop of some of the light glare.
I was curious did anyone make the trade off and pick up a anti-glare high res instead of the standard high-res glossy?
Do you like itmore or less? How is the color production for editing movies and playing games like portal or other steam games?
Is it less weight not having the glass panel attached in day to day travel use?

I don't need this question answered anymore because I found a flex model at office depot. I ordered it this morning because they give me 14 days to return it if I don't like it and they don't charge a restocking fee. It's very good that Lenovo doesn't have the same return policy. I'd probably order a number of things I don't really need, fall in love with them and wind up spending way too much money on things I don't need.
It's also a bit cheaper -- $600 for:

Seems inexpensive (if it's truly good quality). Very curious to see what you get for $600. (My lenovo twist cost $992 and it only has a 12.5" display). So...I'm not expecting much. I'm just looking for a backup laptop in case of an emergency. My desktop monitor and some hard disks are getting old. I'd like to be able to do something breaks.

I have Movies on my iMac that I want to share with Apple TV. How do I do that without also having them synch to my iPhone. The movies exceed the capacity of the iPhone.

However, when I synch my iPhone to to my iMac all of the movies try to synch to the iPhone and this exceeds the available capacity (32) of the iPhone. So the question is, how do I make the movies available on Apple TV but not synch to my iPhone?

I looked around some more on my iPhone and did find a video app. So all is well.

How to make the stage as a Matrix?

I want to convert the stage to a matrix.
I have an idea is to put a square movie clip (height and
width are unit(variable), all the sizes of the objects on the stage
are multiples of unit ) and make the movie clip the whole stage
with 2 for loop.
but my problem how to detect if there's another object that
hit my first movie clip.
I can't do it with hitTest because I can't make hitTest with
all the objects.
Is there another method that return if there's a movie clip
that hit a whatever movie clip

About to make the jump to lp7 from windows but......

newbie here needs some advice...about to make the move to lp7 and mac from windows pt 6.1 le....first question...i got lots of samples how do i get lp to recognize them(giga, akai)...what folder do they go in and can lp sampler recognize them......second arpegolator....can i make a guitar strum out of it?.......third..how much memory should i use for best results.....fourth..the g5 2.0 dual i want to get has cd burner in it...is there software on that puter which i can burn cd with which any cd player can read?..fifth..how can i make the internal instruments into a audio track...not midi..audio.....thanks.....last what genre of music r u using lp7 for?....

1. EXS24 handles Giga and AKAI formats (some-not all) well. You just have to make specific directories and then hit "Import Giga"-or whatever. Then you can keep it or save it in EXS.
2. Kind of. Yes and no. There is no preset "Strum" mode-you can kinda do a makeshift one but not really reliable or simple there.
3. well, the more the better. 1GB minimum, 2GB is recommended for many projects (I didn't write the spec sheet-which may differ). Depends on how much sampling, multitasking, effects, and speed you want.
4. Logic Pro includes waveburner-also iTunes. You should be fine unless you have a particularly finnicky CD Player.
5. Export track/Region as audio file... Then place the file on a free track.
6. Uhm, lots. Electronic (General) and Rock (General). Also lots of Sound Design and editing stuff.
