Superspeed road traffic effect in flash

Hey all,
Ive seen this effect a few times around on the web and on TV
commercials.
Its road traffic moving at super fast speeds (super fast
forward). Just wondering if anyone out there has any tutorials on
how to do it. I presume it would be something like bluring the
objects you want to move and then tweening them to move quickly.
Any help would be great.

Well that's a bummer, I wish they'd have notified of this on their script before selling it to unsuspecting people like myself.
As I'm not actually wanting to connect with this script directly to paypal though, it's just to showcase a shopping cart in the flash site, would this not mean I can still try to integregrate this dynamic shopping cart flash script and see whether it will give me what I need?
If so, can you help me to pull it in from the dynamic script file on to my own flash file / sites stage at all please?
Do you know of any more recent flash compatable shopping cart scripts by any chance? As I need to get this included and the assignment is due in next Wednesday

Preset effects in Flash CS4

Hello
A while ago I made a created a basic effect in Flash CS4 whereby a selection of logos on my web-page gradually disappeared (in the same spot, not shrinking in size first or any other of the effects displayed in the motion presets).
I think this was done by some kind of preset but it doesn't seem to be in the motion presets panel. I can not seem to remember how it was done and I can't find the relevant settings. I don't know ActionScript so it was definitely a preset.
Enclosed are some screen shots of the effect that I mean (stages every few seconds until they completely disappear).
If somebody could remind me how this effect is applied again that would be great! Thanks.

Export after effects to flash?

Hello,
I am very new to both after effects and flash and need some help with a few things.
I am trying to put a flash background on my website that will loop over and over.
I created the file in after effects but understand that it is best to export to flash to keep file size down.
I have tried exporting from after affects using F4L, FLV, and XFL and always seem to get a file size of 2-4 MB.
My video is only 8 seconds long and I exported at half resolution so I am unsure why it is so large.
How can I reduce the file size?
When I import F4L and FLV to flash and then export as an SWF file, the file does not work on my website(nothing shows). It seems to only work when I import as an XFL and then export as an SWF.
Also, how do I get the video to loop? Do I do this in flash or in the object tags in my website?
If anyone could please help me out that would be much appreciated.

You lower the data rate in the FLV output settings (possibly at the cost of quality going down).

Whichever you prefer, but since you seem to want to produce a self-contained BG element and not a conventional player, you would preferably do it in the Flash code inside...

Importing Illustrator with effects into flash

I was curious if there is a way to import Illustrator files seamlessly into flash. My project in Illustrator has a lot of effects like drop shadows

so as you can see it is pretty complex. I want to import as much as I can in vector so that it saves on load time since i already built it in vectors. is it possible to import most of it in vector then just rastor the stuff that might not translate like gaussian blur etc?

answered my own question, I just pasted it in and it asked to use some illustrator import tool, works perfect.

360 Degree Animation Effect in flash

Hi everyone,
I have to create a 360 degree animation effect on 2d image in flash. Basicaly its a product image and has to be animated in 360 degree. Presently I am working on Flash CS4 and it has 3d tool, but i was unable to make it. Now the thing is coming in my mind that, Is this the right software to create such effect, i m worried . Pls help me out from this problem.

I just watched the youtube 360 degree animation in flash and it is very nice. However i do have a question, While this make the animation, it only does the switching between a picture and another picture. There is no transition between them or any blend.
Is there a way to have a blend added to this so that the picture more look like a real 360 panoramic view ?
I love the idea of the mouse controling the view and i know i can place the picture back to back and build them so it is one huuuuuge picture, however in that case it will be nearly impossible to put them all in 1 frame..
I can easely create the 360 panoramique picture in photoshop, but then it is in flash thati have the probleme. I want to apply the mouse control idea. but because the result will be a lot larger than the stage, i don't know how to deal with that...

behind it like a ball has been kick and it is flying
through the air how can i make the swoosh look llike it is
following the ball without using a wipe filter, because i tired
a wipe filter and it wipe part of the "swoosh" where it is
not wanted...??? Let me know if this makes since and is there
an options for this creation in flash. thanks!!

Lighting Effects in Flash

I'm currently trying to find out as much as I can about the lighting effects that are avaialble in Flash, but so far all my searches have come up with absolutley nothing - is there any such thing in Flash? I'd like to be able to create spotlights/point lights/etc. If this is even possible I'd highly appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of some tutorials or even just tell me the names of the classes I should use and I'll look into it myself... so far searching the Flash help files for "lighting" has returned no results.
In the event that this is not possible, I'm going to need to use masks instead (this is what I am currently doing, but it seems the 'man in charge' wants it done differently...) and was wondering whether it was possible to create a 'blur' effect at the edges of my mask layer? I think this could possibly be done by making the alpha value of my mask shape gradually get lower towards the edges (Is this possible either?) but again I'm not really sure where to begin.
To sum up what I need - basically just some way of making it look like a light is shining across a 2D plane (the background), illuminating a portion of it before fading away into darkness.
I'm really struggling with working out where to begin here, so any help at all would be great. Thanks in advance everyone.

You won`t be able to have real Lights in Flash, so If you want to hold on to Flash, you would have to fake them -as you guessed right- with Alpha Masks.

Abstract moving effects in flash

Hi
I am new to flash.
I am now trying to make a flash intro for my web site.
I have downloaded some free templates for the same and examined them.
Some special effects, means colour abstrract moving effects or explosion like effects are in that 'fla' file.
They appear as movie clips. I can export them as flv also.
How they are created? Is it in flash itself or from some other programs like after effects or something?
I would like to create such effects for myself. If it is not in flash, then there is no point in wasting time figuring out the methods by myself.

Filter effects in Flash 5

Hi all,
How can Filter effects be given in Flash 5?

If it is a shape that you know you can create a shadow in a graphics program like Photoshop, save it as a png, and then import it to Flash.
If you are doing something like a dialog box with round corners and straight edges you can chop up the png for straight parts and the rounded corners and then using rotation and scaling only use two little bits for the shadow.
There are many, many tricky ways that people have learned to fake it over the years. Only limited by your creativity and your artistic skills.

Using the Illustrator scribble effect in Flash?

In the app I'm building, there are 5 pie pieces that act as
progress bars. The design idea is to have them fill from 0% to 100%
based on the completed status of the section of the app they refer
to. In the design comps, the fills are created in Illustrator and
use the Scribble effect...Depending on the percentage of
completedness, the styles of the scribble effect change (stroke
width, curviness, spacing, etc.). Is there a way to simulate this
type of action in Flash, or do I need a MovieClip with 100 frames
each with an export of the Illustrator equivalent fill?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What may have happened is that one or more items within the iPhoto application package have had their permissions changed so you do not have access. Run Disk Utility and repair disk permissions. If that doesn't help try moving the application to the desktop and making a duplicate of it-select it and type Command-D. Now move the duplicated to the applications folder and rename to just iPhoto. Now see if the KB controls come back.
Next would be a reinstallation of iPhoto. You'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder. Now reinstall iPhoto 5 and immediately update to the latest version. Then repair disk permissions.

That's seems fairly complex, know what you're going for but
You might try simply dropping a series of duplicate MCs along
the balls path and scaleing them, blurring them and alpha(ing) them
down until they get removed. I'd put that code into a duplicate of
the MC and attach a new instance to the current position as the
ball is moved at an interval, then each 'blurry balls' code takes
over and runs the operations on itself until it reaches a limit,
like 0 alpha or a cetain scale then it removes itself. I would also
increase the blur as it gets smaller.
All this together should give the effect ... maybe. Probably
will take some messing with the parameter to get it to look
right.

No I don't believe it's the footage, as I've been able to transfer the same files on my school computer and use it with ease.It's just any type of footage, if I attempt to drag any of my imported files (whether they're images of any kind or .mp4, .mov, .wav, .mp3) just as I would click and hold the file, my cursor turns into the Mac loading ball. Perhaps is there something these programs require such as Java? I'm not sure if it's related, but I've also not been able to play some games via Steam that I have been able to play in the past with the same system.

Liquify Bloat effect in Flash as3

I am looking for a technique to create a Liquify Bloat effect as in Photoshop. I need to create some tool which makes a person's face look a bit broad or you can say make him fat. The Liquify Bloat tool in Photoshop does almost the same of what is required but I was not able to find a technique to replicate it in Flash AS3. I have tried using the Perlin Noise and other liquify effects but not able to get what is required. Blurr effect in Flash

Hi,
I was wondering if someone would be able to point into the
right direction as to achieving this type of blur like they have on
this webpage? I would like to create something similiar where a
user would be able to see some pictures but as the pictures move
out of the masked area they appear blurred?

That kind of effect is usually created in a video effects
editor and then imported into Flash. The only tutorials you could
look for is basic video effects tutorials. That effect has nothing
to do with Flash. Now, Flash "can" help you to create similar
motion effects (although nothing compared to the real thing), but
using various transparent layers of graphical items and
individually tweening them.
