Supervisor 2T Internal Bootdisk

Hi everyone I have Ordered The Supervisor 2T (VS-S2T-10G=) is going to be shipped with MEM-C6K-INTFL1GB (Internal 1G Compact Flash) which is an on-board Compact Flash (CF) Boot Disk, so the question here will it come loaded with the IOS (ex.S2TIBK9-15001SY) or do I have to load it my self ? And When Migrating from Supervisor 720-3B to Supervisor 2T what should be the recommended way of doing that: 1- Copy the saved config from 720-3B to my PC using TFTP as a file and then copy the same file into SUP 2Tbootdisk (using Console connection) and issue command copy bootdisk:saved_config system:running_config or 2- Copy the saved config from 720-3B to my PC in Notepad and then copy that and paste it into the running config of Sup 2T I'm more aligned with the first method since the SUP 2T new Image will parse the old config and convert the command if needed Note: I don't have the External compact Flash

Depends if you specified the IOS you want loaded on the Bill of Material.  If not, you'll need to download the IOS and upload it yourself.
I don't have the External compact Flash
I recommend you get one (or two) from your nearest electronics/camera shop.  >8Gb would be more than sufficient.

    Regards,

    Hi Sabih,
For a Nexus 1010 pair to form HA redundancy, the communicate with each other via the Control VLAN. You would have specified this during your installation.
Can you verify that they are both utilizing the same Control VLAN.
    n1010# show svs domain
Furthermore, ensure that this vlan is defined and forwarding, on the relevant ports, on the upstream 6509s.
    Thanks,
    Michael

  • Nexus 1010 HA Error

                  Hi,
While I bring Up Secondary Nexus 1010 I am getting this error on primary
Error in getting supervisor and internal state of other supervisor.
    sh redundancy status
    Redundancy role
          administrative:   primary
             operational:   primary
    Redundancy mode

Internal state:   Active with warm standby
    Other supervisor (sup-2)
        Redundancy state:   Standby
Error in getting supervisor and internal state of other supervisor.
On the redundant (standy ) unit I am getting this message
%SYSLOG-2-SYSTEM_MSG: Did not receive supstate notification in 180 seconds. Still waiting
What could be possible reason ? can this be a firmware mismatch ? Both are having same configuration for management control and packet vlan. Both are on same L2 network. If I disconnect the standby unit management cable, it will boot. But if management cable is connected, it will be stuck in the above phase.
    regards
    Prasad K

    Prasad,
This means that there is some sort of a communication issue between the two Nexus 1010 switches in the control VLAN. You should probably check the upstream configuration on the ports that connect to the 1010 links carrying the control traffic and also the links involved in the control path.
    Thanks,
    Shankar

  • 6509 - 720 Supervisor Module Failure after Password Recovery

    Hi,
I attempted to perform a password recovery on a 6509 with dual WS-SUP720-3B modules running 12.2(33)SXI2A.
After changing the configuration register to 0x2142 and booting, I am getting a major error on the supervisor modules. I've changed the configuration register back to 0x2102 and am still getting the same error on both supervisor modules. I've also tried it with one module removed and one module installed.
I have about 30 seconds in where I can run commands before I get booted to rommon.
    Any thoughts?

    To answer your question:
A Is there any different procedure to install line modules in supervisor slots?
    >>No there are no special configuration you need to do when inserting a line card in slots that normally would be for supervisor.
B Switch is having previously removed linecard (i.e, fastethernet module)in running configuration. Will it create any system crash?
    >>No, it will not cause the switch to crash, when you see the configuration of a line card even after it was removed is quite normal, it's cold module provisionsing, you would not want to keep putting in a configuration for any line card after just resetaing them do you?

  • Loop Internal Table Performance

Hi I am from BW and not much familiar with ABAP. I have written the following code in BW. I have around 1.5 million records coming into BW and the code I have written needs to go through 1.5 million times. Hence the data load is taking long time. I would like someone to please go through the code below and suggest if any for performance improvement.

How larger are these internal tables ?
    If large, then
    > sort i_begda by employee datefrom descending.
    > read table i_begda with key employee = i_datapackage-employee binary search.
    the resorting and
    the nested loops
    => will kill your performance
Please reconsider the whole logic, I have only some hints
+ Binary search does not help anything if you have to sort everytime you use it.
+ Never use a sort of a larger table inside a larger loop, it is always avoidable!
+ Check whether you can break down the big piece into smaller one, try to
do the break down in the database already to save memory
=>  Please provide your code in better layout, and explain what you actually want
          to do.

  • I can't get to BIOS if internal HD is plugged in

    W520 running BIOS version 1.35
If I remove the hard drive, I can get into the BIOS just fine (I am talking about the internal HD, Intel 320).   I wanted to change the boot order.  However it makes no difference once I reconnect the hard drive, it wants the hard drive password first, won't let me boot from anything else or get to the BIOS, and I've either forgotten it (honestly I never had it set to my knowledge, only had a Supervisor password, but now I am getting prompted for a HD password after Windows froze and I had to force shut down while plugged into Ethernet cable;  I think some Wake On LAN settings caused a BIOS bug to occur or something because it changed my boot order and tried to PXE boot... can't understand it, no PXE environment on my LAN, it's just a regular router).
It seems like the BIOS is actually stored on the hard drive? (And since when is BIOS stored on hard drive?!?)  Is there any way I can actually get into the BIOS with my hard drive connected?  What is going on here?
I'm trying to boot from USB so I can run a disk utility and check the SMART status on the Intel 320 SSD.   I believe I'm deal with a BIOS bug even though Lenovo refuses to acknowledge or look into it.  All I can think to try is make sure the disk is not faulty.
I've also tried flashing the BIOS but it seems to make no difference... if the hard disk is connected it won't boot from any other media, and if the hard disk isn't connected, it doesn't seem to actually flash the BIOS as the version never changes from 1.35.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The drive pw is needed at power up, whether you boot into the bios or an os. It is not needed on a restart, assuming it was entered at power up.

  • Verizon bill showing I texted 8012222269 internationally and I did not

      Good evening,
    Some back-story:
Ever since the "premium messaging" debacle I was involved in with regard to text messaging on my LG Env3 I have reviewed closely all text message charges on my Verizon bill. On the LGE3 I received some spam text messages from some number and ignored them; not understanding I was being charged for these messages I was receiving. I had contacted Verizon before about this issue several months ago because I thought my phone bill was unusually high. The customer representative said it was my premium messaging. Foolish me was thinking ok maybe I sent some high mgb texting or something but the Verizon rep didn't go into any other explanation than that. This went on for a few months more then I finally got ticked seeing $9.99 on my bill for the past few months and I contacted customer support again and this time this Verizon agent informed me that somehow some way my number was obtained from a third party even when I was not aware of it and I must have signed up for some service. I informed him I would never authorize someone to charge me $9.99 on my Verizon bill if I had no idea what service I was getting. He said that this was considered premium messaging which is a nice fancy way of saying 3rd parties can bill you via your Verizon bill for "services" you may not even know you are receiving just because somehow your number got in a roster of contacts that these scheming places use. I googled the number of where the messages were originating and it said something about "Fonesocial" or some such I had never heard of before. The Verizon rep this time said that they could place a block on all premium messaging on my phone and they agreed to credit back six months of these charges because I had called about them before and was offered no assistance or explanation by the customer agent i spoke with several months back when the charges first appeared. (Normally I get good customer service support from Verizon but there are times I get people who are not worth wasting my breath on) Another thing Verizon doesn't state up front is that your phone isn't automatically set to default of blocking third party messaging. You have to take the initiative to do it rather than it being set up that way to begin with which I think is a huge inconvenience and unfair to the customer because you shouldn’t have to go through a mess and receive extra charges before realizing “premium messaging” in Verizon language means “we are going to let 3rd parties text you absolute junk and charge you crazy fees then pay them while we charge your bill oh and by the way we don’t really bother to ask you if you are aware of how you got signed up for this 3rd party’s service or if you even know what you are getting”
Now....to my current issue that I wonder if anyone else has...In October I upgraded to the Apple Iphone 4. I was reviewing my recent bill and noted that I incurred $2.50 of text message charges when I have an unlimited text plan. The bill charge details gave off the appearance that these were international text messages. My thought was that when I switched to the iphone and changed data plans my block of premium messaging got removed and I was incurring text messages from this number. I called and spoke with a Verizon customer service rep today and she said that the messages were sent from my phone. I informed her I did not send the messages I do not know anyone internationally and I would not be texting internationally. I asked if I had the premium message block on and she said that yes the block was still on and she could block me from receiving text messages and calls but that she could not place a block on a text message I sent. I said again, ma’am I did not send these. She said she would try to get me some type of customer courtesy credit for the $2.50 and I said it is $2.50 that’s not a lot but my point I’m trying to make is that I did not text this number I do not know this number and you can’t tell me what was said to this number in text messages that are stated to be originating from my phone number. The first text message from my bill began on November 26th. I was flying that day…landed in Orlando Intl. airport. Then the 4th of December, two on the 13th of Dec, one on Dec 16th one on the 23rd 3 on 12/24 and one on 12/25. I asked Verizon rep if someone could have hacked my phone and she said if my number was cloned I would have incurred all sorts of phone charges on my Verizon bill so my number would not have been cloned. She said maybe someone got my phone and sent the messages I told her I keep my phone with me at all times and it’s locked. I expressed the concern of what the messages may have said given my current employment situation the thought of having messages fired off to a supposed international number referencing my number as origination point and my not knowing what the messages said causes me great concern. I could tell the Verizon rep was getting irritated with me and I was getting irritated though I kept saying I was not upset with her personally as I knew she was just doing her job but either there was a data validity issue with the Verizon billing service or someone was able to somehow send text messages referencing my number and that was what concerned me how my number could be co-opted like that and Verizon just bill me. She said that I would have to get court order subpoena for them to see what the messages said. She said that at first she thought I was just crazy and then apologized for telling me that but then she realized I must really be upset based on the tone in my voice and I wasn’t just trying to get out of $2.50 charge. I said I was very upset because there’s no explanation being provided as to how Verizon records show I sent texts to a number and I didn’t send them. These were a quarter a pop. Next month what if there are even more $$ involved.  She said she had not had any other complaints like this before but did grant me the $2.50 credit after speaking to her supervisor. Still no explanation from Verizon and I had to say over and over again to the representative that I did not send these messages and there is no way anyone could have just picked up my phone and sent them. I understand that customer agents have to be skeptical of callers saying they didn't do something to incur a charge but I have been a Verizon customer for almost ten years now and I have better things to do than engage in an argument over $2.50 without good reason. I Googled the number 8012222269 and found several people complaining about receiving messages from this number but no one stating that they have been accused (via billing) of SENDING messages to this number. Has anyone else been saddled with charges of text messages to a number they did not send and HOW technically speaking is this allowed to happen? How is this NOT a data validity issue? I am well aware there are people who will take a phone and text but based on the dates and times referenced on my bill detailed charges it is just not possible. I was in a plane in the air when the first message was sent on 11/26 and I had my phone off.  To add insult to injury I think the Verizon rep still things I'm just making a big deal out of this and I MUST have texted this number and just didn't realize it or someone obtained my phone and did it. In other words...no problem on their end I'm just a nut but they appreciate my patronage so they will extend a courtesy credit for $2.50. I have to say...as much as I like to laugh at the AT&T people in my office that have service bars when I've got this great Verizon coverage...I feel a bit kicked in the teeth. Otherwise I would have never signed on to this forum for discussion.  And look, I want honest people who have been having issues with this please if you want to come on here and spam/flame me about how I am too stupid and need to read fine print blah blah just jump off a log I am not going to respond to you and you will not get a rise out of me. The issue here is text messages coming from MY number showing up on MY bill that I DID NOT and could not have sent.  Thanks.

You said "The messages i received when i did not have signal are not showing up."
How do you know received them?
If the sender got a message that the Messagers were not delivered than they were never delivered and the only way for you to get them is for the sender to resent them

  • How do I migrate my itunes library from an external hard drive to my mac mini's internal hard drive?

I have my iTunes library on an external hard drive because my macbook pro's internal hard drive didn't have enough room.  I would like to migrate or transfer the itunes files while continuing to keep my playlists.  Is there a way to do that with the migration software?

Thank you for your help.  My biggest concern is losing all of my sorted music into playlists. I have 124GB of music and resorting it will very difficult.  When I moved the itunes library with the help of a supervisor at apple tech to the external HD I had to resort it.
Will it move the entire library and setting as they are now?

  • No international data plan for one year-???

Here is the background.  I moved over to Verizon about 4 months ago from Alltel.  I did this because I wanted to be able to have a blackberry with international BBm'ing.  I did not go with ATT because there coverage was spotty in my area.  Since the move, I would say my Alltel coverage was 3x better then the cuurent verizon in my house even with the network extender ( BB don't work well with network extender compare to droids, according to the VZW reps).  I did not stay with Alltel because they did not have the storm2.  I needed 6 lines and a mifi and the local verizon rep told me no problem that they could do one primary line and 5 additonal line plus the mifi but after I signed up they realized that I maxed out at 5 lines on one account and they made me make my 6th line a primary line and then added the mifi to the 2nd account.  More costs per month.  Within a month of having my VZW account, one of my kid went to China and we were able to add the international data plan for her trip so she could BBM us.  No problems.
Here is the problem.  I am going abroad in 2 days and would like to put the international data plan on 2 phones for the trip.  The rep says he cannot do becaue the polciies have changed with the "xerox" buyout and they won't let me do it for the following reasons.
    1.  I have not had my phones for more than one year even though I paid a deposit on them
    2. I have 7 lines on one account- not true I have one account with 1 primary line and 4 additional lines and I have another account with one primary line and the mifi account.  they are all billed on the same statement.  If they are all "one account" then VZW owes me a refund on the 2nd account's primary line as they cannot have it both ways.
We came to verizon for the purpose of BBM’ing when going international and now we cannot use it.  I am paying over $500.00 a month and have not been late on any payments, paid a deposit on the phones, am paying for 2 primary lines and did this a few weeks ago for my daughter and now I cannot add the international option again for a week of vacation abroad?  This is really upsetting and pretty much the last straw if it does not get resolved before this trip.  I should have stayed at Alltel or went to ATT and got an I phone because this is no better.    The rep I talked too was bedeviled by this policy and went two levels up in supervisors and was denied.  They are supposed to call me to resolve this issue tonight or in the morning.
    {word filter avoidance}

    Update:
I got a call from my local rep at the store where I bought all the phones.  She said they called corporate and all blocks on my international data plan have been removed?  I will stop by this afternoon and confirm that it has all been done???? I still cannot believe how many hoops I will have had to jump through to get this done as it was done 2 months ago, if it actually gets done.
If it does not get done then i will be requesting to be let out of my contract for breach of contract on Verizon's part as it was never told to me that I could not have international service for one year after signing up and we were able to do it within a month of signing up initially.  Will post updates

I bought my toshiba satellite L755 5 months ago but the windows just crashed down and when I try restoring the windows factory setting by holding the 0 button while turning on the laptop it requires a supervisor password which I didn't set !
please help me what should I do ?!

    Hi Alex,
    any chance that the password (WPA or WPA2 I assume) contains special keys/characters like * / and/or also international ones like ä ü ö ß ?
These can be troublesome with using different operating systems.
Such characters can be coded differently on different operating systems like OSX or Windows so that the pass-phrase isn't compatible anymore.
Since the PSK is stored in the router, using such a PSK with different operating systems can lead to a scenario where you can connect to the router with OSX but not with Windows, for example.
I personally avoid such special characters and instead use the full length of the PSK and mix numbers and upper/lower characters.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Outbound Numbers Not Showing in Supervisor Desktop

Running UCCX 7.0(1)SR05 with Supervisor Desktop 6.6(1).  All outbound called numbers (whether internal 4-digit or external PSTN) are showing as <Unavailable> under "Agent Contact - Active Call" on the Supervisor Desktop. Anybody know what I have to change in CM or UCCX to have the called number appear?  Inbound calling numbers appear fine.
    Thanks,
    Todd

Did you ever get a solution for this? - I have a customer with a similar issue.
    Thanks

  • Using Whatsapp  to call incurred international roaming charges

Please permit me to introduce myself
    Account Number: [removed]
    Executive summary:
I used an Iphone App called Whatsapp that allows users to exchange online messages and even calling. I used that app to make an app to app call to a friend in India.
And I was shocked to see that Verizon has billed all the talk time to international roaming and the bill is a HUGE amount close to $775
    Issue in detail
    Total minutes talked - 296
Billed - $775+ (at international roaming rate $2.30/minute)
    Please consider the following facts
-I used Whatsapp to talk to Iphone app to app call
-I had called same Whatsapp number in india
-A few times all happened with in a month/same billing cycle
-First time it happened in my history with Verizon
-I don't have  international plan so I did not know my cell phone can make international calls through Verizon (Have never made one via cell phone/verizon)
-I have no way of knowing that this is being charged to my account until I see the bill (I saw and reported this within a week of the ebill date)
-The app clearly says this //Using WhatsApp while your phone is connected to Wi-Fi should not incur charges from your carrier. Please note that some Wi-Fi networks may have charges or usage fees.//

Please consider the following as a LOYAL verizon customer
    - 15 year LOYAL verizon mobile customer (customer since 2000 since I landed in the US)
    - Never left Verizon , not even once
    - Always paid my bill on time (automatic payments)
    - Have converted MANY customers from other carriers to Verizon
In this background I would humbly request you to put yourself in my shoes and see this issue as a mistake/software glitch which I had no way of knowing until I see the bill.
I request you to do the needful to see it as what it is , a mistake , that was not done by me but a software of which I have no knowledge of.
Being a long standing LOYAL Verizon customer , I beseech you to do the right thing and reverse all the charges related this incident.
Following is the log of my efforts to work with Verizon customer support
Dates called April 5th 1 hr
    April 6 - 4 hrs
    Ian did the right thing
He converted the calls to regular international long distance from 2.39/min to 29 cents a minute , convenience plan.
I agreed and he said its waiting on supervisor's approval which is 24 hrs.
I called again April 7 I was told it might take 48 to 42 hrs
I called again on April 10 and I was told the supervisor did not approve.
I spoke to many and finally reached Ms.Brooke  who introduced herself as the top most supervisor in the building (Employee [removed],Kentucky call center)
Personal information removed as required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service

    Hi JJKAY,
The EXACT same thing took place for my wife. She used the WhatsApp to make calls and it ended up going to a number in Turkey. Verizon sent NO Alerts at all that this would be International charge OUTSIDE of our International calling plan.
My wife made calls using the SAME app to Mexico and it went through without charges.
We have also been customer for numerous years.
I called Verizon to see how this occurred and got the technical folks, who first told me as they told you, they could change to the Global plan and then pay a reduced $/min. However, then the supervisor stepped in and would not approve.
Verizon seems to think they have no responsibility to send ALERTS or allow for ALERTS when it goes well beyond the ordinary.
Did you get Verizon to provide a credit as a customer?
I would like to know, as I am about to switch and then make this a case of Verizon and show how much they care about customer retention. Thanks in advance.

  • OWA for Iphone and international calling card

    Hello,
I work as the Supervisor for a company that has just purchased many iphones.  The group that is in charge of email at my company will only allow "OWA for Iphone" to be used because in this way, nothing is downloaded to the device.  All email, calendar entries and contacts/people entries are web based.  Because nothing is downloaded to the device, the Iphone app for any international calling card company like Reliance or True Roots will not work.
When I say, "will not work" this is why.  All international calling card companies apps that I have found, access the local downloaded contacts on the Iphone itself.  I have not found any that can connect to the people in the  "OWA for Iphone" app to make international calls for cheeper prices.
Is there an international calling card company whose app will work with "OWA for Iphone" and not the locally stored contacts?  Or one that I can make the choice, choose the contacts from the local Iphone and or people in the "OWA for Iphone" app?

International calling apps allow you to call an entry from your contact list.  When you make a call from your device using this International calling app it will hang up, dial a 1 800 or 1866 number, then redial the international number you dialed and complete the call.  This allows you to call for example, India for $.06/minute instead of $.50/minute or what ever your provider charges you.  It basically make it so your international calls go through your international calling app provider instead of your phone provider.  You still use your phone provider minutes, but the cost is rerouted to your international calling provider/partner.
    1. I know, its so hard to do anything.  Yes all smartphones (Iphones, Androids, Windows, etc...)  The email admins will not allow anything to directly download to the device from the company.  The OWA for IPhone app uses the web browser but changes the view of the email to look and feel user friendly.  Basically, OWA for Iphone is using the web to look at all email, contacts, and calendar entries.
    2. The international calling app (Reliance and all others I have found including Skype) will only look at local downloaded contacts.  Because we are using OWA for Iphone there are no downloaded contacts. So, the international calling app does not see the contacts to be able to call.
If I go into OWA for IPhone and go to People and call somebody internationally +44 XX XXX XXXXX it works fine, but the international calling app does not activate becasue the app can't see the number.  This is because its looking only at the local downloaded contacts list, not the contacts on the web using OWA for Iphone

  • Internal Verizon Network problems - How to escalate tickets

Does anyone have a number other than the standard technical support to contact to escalate a ticket?  I have had two experiences where first line support opened an automated test ticket which supposedly found a problem that a technician needed to be dispatched.  Both were closed, and no technician ever came to the house. Last night a third ticket was opened by a rep who was not willing to transfer me to a supervisor.
I have done extensive troubleshooting and determined the internal Verizon network is experiencing 14-22% packet loss on server nsrest01.verizon.net which happens to be the primary served DNS for my area.  This occurs especially when sending ping packets 512k or larger.  Incidentally the first two hops are not having packet loss that I can detect.
If you have a Windows box, drop to a command prompt and do ping -t -l 512 nsrest01.verizon.net  and let it run for 20 minutes and see how much packet loss it receives.  Even from other broadband providers the pings are lossy.
First line support is looking at my end of the circuit as the problem.  I have been told that I can not email any logs to support, which is rediculous.  I have spent hours of my time opening tickets, waiting for automated tests,  and waiting for technicians who did not show up.  How many of these does a customer need to open with first level support before they can be helped?

While I do not know the answer to your question, #1 I point can tell that you can test the DNS Servers http://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm #2 And I point you to the post by "Kerry Liles" said at "news.grc.com" in the "grc.techtalk" area in a thread titled "Problems Accessing A Couple Of Websites" X-Url: http://www.GRC.com/groups/techtalk:231784 Xref: news.grc.com grc.techtalk:231784 http://12078.net/grcnews/article.php?group=grc.techtalk&id=231784 Quick quote ** Many ISPs cannot configure and run a proper dns service. Although it is not an easy task, it is possible to do so **

  • "Internal Problem" message when attempting to log into BO 6.5

EDIT The message windows states "Internal Problem" not "Internal Error"
I'm getting this simple message box when trying to launch BO 6.5 and/or Supervisor 6.5. There is no other information provided and nothing entered into the event viewer. It's happening from all workstations with BO installed so I presume the issue is on the server and not with the individual workstations.
Any ideas as to where to look?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
Following solutions might help you to resolve the issue.
    Solution1:
Add the problematic user to the administrator user group.
    Solution2:
-search and back up old *.key and *.lsi
    - run supervisor.exe directly on server
    - if able to see login page do a save recovery of the bomain.key
    - scan repair repository if able to log in
    Solution3:
Alternatively copy a bomain.key created from a different computer
Copy a "*.rss" file and save it under the database folder.
The RSS file can be located by going to C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Data Access\
Under the Data Access folder, locate the folder which corresponds to the database you are connecting to. Within that folder you should see an .rss file.
If you still cannot see the file, close Zabo and then re-launch it and open the report. This should recreate the *.rss file that is needed to run the report.
I hope this will help you.
