Supplied PDF has text as 4 colour black

I've got a PDF supplied with body text as 4 colour black.
Anyway to convert the 4 colour black to just 100% black?

Unfortunately, that will convert all text to black, won't it?@
That's correct.
but you can set in the acrobat minimum and maximum size of the text to be changed (I hope your color text blue and red are different sizes from the body text) .
for example, if the body text has 10 pt you can set min 10pt and max 10pt.
if for example titles are blue but have 15 pt they will stay blue after conversion.
in the example screen shoot the titles blue and red have 15 pt and they remained in blue and red after conversion (I set maximum 14 pt and without minimum).

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • How can I restore the text selection highlight colour to the default black colour in indesign CC ?

How can I restore the text selection highlight colour to the default black colour in indesign CC ?

Manish Shama, thanks for your speedy response. I was able to get into my MAC settings and change the background from the black to whatever color I like, so that helps (THANKS!). But the real issue is that the selected text does not turn white (even though that's what's specified in my MAC settings), it remains black. I really want to have the selection reverse out as it always has for years and years going all the way back to PageMaker Any ideas?

  • My iPad 2 screen has turned a weird colour. The background is black and the letters are white instead of the other way round and colour photos look like negatives. How do I change it back.

My IPad screen has turned a weird colour, the background is white and the letters white instead of the other way round.  Colour photos look like negatives. How can I turn it back to a white background.

    Dear Steve,
You are wonderful! You are the best! I'm Stephania and I recently purchased a refurbished ipad2. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and updating & fixing it so my liking. The only thing that I couldn't correct were the photos that looked like negatives. Every photo, even on the internet, on apps, everywhere! I just couldn't figure out how to fix it. I contacted Apple Care and its too difficult to get in touch with them. I had looked through support before but didn't put in the right question. Well, today I got lucky. I did the two things you suggested and turning the "White On Black" off did the trick. I'm so happy! I had a feeling it was something simple and this is not even in the manual!

  • Does anyone know of an e-reader app for the iphone that has text to speech capability? I have a Kindle 3G that can read whole pdf documents and books but I cannot figure out how to do it on my iphone 4.

Does anyone know of an e-reader app for the iphone that has text to speech capability? I have a Kindle 3G that can read whole pdf documents and books but I cannot figure out how to do it on my iphone 4.
All of the apps I have found on the App store either do not have the text to speech capability or if they have it they will only read a page at a time or simply read the text you paste into their window. I really do not understand what is so difficult about having this feature as Kindle provides it--though Amazon does not make the feature available on its iPhone 4 app.
    Please help.

thanks. yes i am aware of the VoiceOver feature but it is NOT the solution to my problem. as you said, it is a solution to a different set of issues. i want the text to speech ability because i there are books i need to read but do not have the time to sit down and read them and have become used to listening to them read to me either by a professional human reader or with the text to speech software on the Kindle.
I think Apple makes the best audio devices but i am really disappointed in this inexplainable shortcoming. if apple can give us siri they ought to be able to design a nice little button that i can push to turn on text to speech while i am in a document, book, magazine or webpage. clearly it is possible as apple has added the "reader" button in safari to have web pages dropped into the reader format.
thanks for your suggestion though, it is what everyone suggests but it does not address the issue.

Sounds like you have a stroke on it. Select the frame and set the stroke to none.

You will need to find a forum for MS Word since that is the software that you are trying to manipulate in this.  If you think the processing/creation of the PDF plays a role then you should ask in the forum for the software that you are using to create the PDF.
This forum is for issue regarding downloading and installing Adobe trial products, so in any circumstance, your issue does not fit in this forum.

  • CS3 export to PDF jagged text

My file is just text, and it looks beautiful when I print directly from InDesign. However, when I export to PDF, the text has noticeably jagged edges.
I've tried all the included export settings. I've tried printing to a PDF directly. These all look fine in Acrobat, but lead to the same disappointing results when printed.
PDF files that I didn't produce, print perfectly from Acrobat.
    What am I doing wrong?

"I changed the color from "leave unchanged" to "RGB" and the file printed pefectly."
When you "leave color unchanged" you are effectively telling InDesign that the printer will interpret the color values in the document. When you change it to something else (ie: RGB or CMYK or greyscale) you are letting indesign decide what color values to send so that the printer will print closer to what you see. The caveat is that your monitor must be calibrated so that you are seeing color values consistently. And as far as your monitor is concerned black is a color (RGB 0 0 0).

  • How do I convert my book cover pdf and text pdf to grayscale?

1 ) How do I convert my photoshop book cover pdf to CMYK and remove all color and 2) How do I convert my Indesign text pdf file 'to grayscale for all black and whit images'?

Hello Mylenium, thank you for responding. My query has to do with the fact that it is already in pdf mode and it needs to be sent to the book printer. They will only accept the file in grayscale for the text matter file and the colored cover file needs to be in CMYK. I can't seem to correct the issue with everything internally that I've done. I currently have Acrobat XI and the tutorial creation files are in an earlier screen. So, the flow is not the same. I do not see the flow of conversion in the Ac. XI as they show in their creation file demands. Does this make sense?

  • Prepress query about supplied PDFs with ICC profiles

    Hello please help
Working at a print company we get a lot of print ready PDFs supplied
We have our own press colour profile which we ideally apply to all PDFs
My question is what to do with a supplied PDF which contains a none standard ICC profile on either the full PDF or embedded in the images or text.
Is there an industry standard for changing the colour profile on CMYK images?
We can strip the ICC profile using pitstop, but doesn't this create problems with images that have been converted from RGB to CMYK using under colour removal etc?
If we would just convert the total PDF into our printing colour profile (by placing it into indesign or using distiller) it tends to mess up images which are already CMYK with an embedded ICC profile.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you very much

Thanks for your reply, we have actually been advised not to use this setting on our RIP. We are trying to get in contact with our RIP supplier tech guy to sort out why we aren't using this, to me it feels like this would maybe save us a lot of hassle yes. I will get back when we know more, thanks!

  • How cna I change the text and background colours in iTunes?

Can anyone tell me how I can change the text and background colours in iTunes? I am a visually impared user and my main requirement on a PC is to change the colour schemem to white text on a black background. Most software adopts the settings of your colour scheme but iTunes goes it's own and has everything on white backgrounds. I cannot read from white backgrounds (dazzle - that sort of thing). I have never used iTunes for this reason. I have always been a devotee of by far the best media player out there Musicmatch Jukebox, who allow you to edit skins in every detail. However, recently Musicmatch was taken over and users were forced to migrate to the ridiculously poor Yahoo Music Jukebox. A massive downgrade in so many ways.
I want to use iTunes but will not be able to if I cannot sort this issue out. I downloaded 7.5 before discovering that if you want to use Multi Plugin for skins you need to go back to iTunes 7.02. I've done that, but the skins available are completely pointless to my eyes. They don't change the colours of the main components, just the graphical bit at the top.
What I need to do is change the background of the main browser windows so that they are black and the text is white (you know the track lists and tree views, etc). This must be a very simple case of just changing the codes somewhere, but I can't find where. I read somewhere that you need to hack into something call ResourceDB inside a file called iTunes.jar. There is no such file on my PC. Could that be a Mac thing?
Please help someone if you can. I would like to become an iTunes user. There seems to be more music available than on Napster which I currently use.
    Thanks in advance
    Z

In my opinion, it seems that Apple has decided to sacrifice usability so that iTunes would look more like a Mac application. You are probably already aware that using Windows' built-in high-contrast settings do not work in iTunes.
I did some hacking at the resource file a while back, but I was unable to figure out how to change the color of the background. IIRC there was a resource whose description indicated it would change the background color, but when I changed the resource, nothing happened.
I was, however, able to figure out how to make the "large" font much larger (any size you want, I suppose). Will that help? See
    http://home.comcast.net/~teridon73/ituneshacks/index.html
You should provide feedback to Apple:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
I don't think it is too harsh to call it "shameful" that Apple has chosen this design path. Where I work, we are required to make ALL applications (or any computer interface, such as a website) section 508 compliant. Of course, I'm being a bit of a hypocrite, because I've made no effort to make my website compliant. If you have trouble reading it, please let me know.

  • HAVE NEW 13.3 MAC AIR AND when using it to open sites in safari I have no issue until I go to a link page that is a pdf file or I am trying to save the screen info as a pdf. I only get a black screen with no data, cannot find solution in help menu

HAVE NEW 13.3 MAC AIR (previously, still have 13.3 MCbook pro which works captures what I am looking for an answer to)
when i open sites in safari the page opens fine if it is not a pdf based page.
Once i open a site that has a link to another page that is a pdf based page the page comes up as a black screen with no info showing
If I open a site that gices me an open to save a file to a word, excel type document or a pdf , everything works fine until I try to save the information to a PDF and again the screen goes black
I have tried the safari help site but to no avail, does anyone have a solution to thid problem. (I do have the abode ofr mac program loaded)

If you delete all the Adobe Reader stuff it will probably fix this. For almost everything, the Apple pdf handling works better.

  • I have a 2 x spot colour file in Illustrator CC and need to save it as a PDF for printing in spot colour....

I have a 2 x spot colour file in Illustrator CC and need to save it as a PDF for printing in spot colour, which option do I choose in the 'save as' menu?
and how do I check it?
The overprint panel is open and I can turn off the cmyk ( there are no separations for the cmyk anyway)
Have looked at the tutorials which tell me to print as PDF7 but that utility is disabled and has been for ages.
it is a simple need but can find no simple information so think I must be missing something!
    Thanks in advance!

No magic required. You simply save it as PDF-X from AI. If the spot colors are based on correct swatches and tagged accordingly, they will appear as separate inks/ plates in the PDF, which you can verify in the ink manager in Acrobat. That's pretty much all there is to it and the print facility should handle this file correctly.

  • Is PDF to Text Fixed in Lion

When Apple released Snow Leopard they broke Preview's (and all other non-Adobe) ability to correctly convert PDF to Text. Has that been rectified in Lion?
    How to test:
Get a (or create) 2 column PDF with a multi column Table imbeded in the middle. Select All and Paste it into TextEdit.
In Leopard, and before, the result would be each 'entire' line of the PDF would be a line in TextEdit, so the first line in TextEdit would contain line 1 of column 1 AND line 1 of column 2 from the PDF. When you got down to the Table, all the rows of data would remain on a row, so you might have line 15 of column 1 AND columns 1 to 8 of row 1 of Table 1 AND line 15 of column 2. Because of spacing issues, the TextEdit version would not be an exact replica of the PDF, but the actual text, row for row, would be EXACT.
In Leopard, and before, if you held the Option Key down whilst selecting text in a PDF it would enter 'smart mode' (or column mode) and automtically attempt to determine the columns of data on a PDF page. This was fine if the page was simple 2 or 3 column text as when you pasted it into TextEdit, you'd get column 1 followed by column 2 followed by column 3, etc etc. This was completely useless if you had a Table, especially if any of the cells were blank, as each column of data would be rendered one after the other.
In Snow Leopard this 'smart mode' was turned On by default and can't be turned Off! More often than not the result is stupid, pointless and lacking any smarts.
This effects ALL PDF applications, such as Skim, and even Adobe Reader.
Currently the only way to correctly render a PDF to Text is to use Adobe Reader and select Save as... Text. ie if you Copy and Paste the text from Reader to TextEdit you get a different result than if you Save as... Text.
Unfortunately Reader is not AppleScriptable so the process can't be automated so the only option I have to convert 1000s of PDF to Text is to send them them to an old G5 running Leopard where Automator converts them and sends them back to me when finished.
Still reading too many bugs with Lion so waiting for 10.7.3, unless PDF is fixed in which case I'll upgrade now.

I may be the only one with this issue and if so then I apologize for mis stating the question.  However, my iMac is less than 2 weeks old and as soon I upgraded I had the issue.  I also saw the same issue listed on MacRumors which lead me to believe that others are aware of the problem.  I just downloaded flash 11 beta and am no longer having that issue.  Perhaps it is specific to the 21.5 inch iMac's i'm not sure.  Hopefully others with similar issues will try the beta and at least be able to surf content without crashing.  Thanks again for everyones quick responses.
PS.  I don't care about Flash either and wish it would go away.

Okay ... that is usually caused by a problem that also makes the iTunes Store go black too. So even though Drgoo's post about fixing it in the following post is about fixing the iTunes issue, fingers crossed it should also help with your Safari problem too:
