Support direct3D graphics, 3D PDF toolkit

It would be nice if in Acrobat's 3D tools, it would support both OpenGL graphics based models and Direct3D graphics based models.
I use Autodesk Inventor 2011 as my 3D application. Adobe does support some Inventor files, but none after about the 2009 (not exactly sure when OpenGL was taken out of Inventor support) release of Inventor. So now, as a work-around, I have to convert all of my Inventor files to STEP or IGES files first before creating 3D PDF's.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I had heard that...I kind of figured that add-on software sanctioned by Adobe would be to Adobe's specifications. Not sure how that works...
What about in Acrobat 9 Pro Extended? Who handles issues/patches with translation and import of 3D models?

CAD graphics in PDF-Forms (Adobe Forms)

Hello,
I have a question concerning big graphics in PDF-based Forms. A Customer wants to append graphics to an Adobe-Form. These pictures will be CAD graphics. The problem is, this graphic can be from 10 up to 25 pages! Is it possible to append such a big graphic with variable pages to an Adobe Form?
The format of the graphics can be either PDF or JPEG.
And if this is possible: will the performance of printing or sending the extended form be acceptable?

On the Options tab of the button properties dialog, set the Layout to something other than "Label only" (e.g., Icon only). You can then clock the "Choose Icon" button to select a source for the button appearance. It can be a page from an existing PDF or anything else Acrobat knows how to convert to PDF, such as an image.

Voice over can be used, but voice over is not a very selective setting. When enabled, voice over changes how you navigate the iPad completely. It does work though.

Remove filename of graphic in PDF

When hovering the mouse over a graphic in PDF file the file name of the graphic appears - is there a way to remove this filename?

Please go to the view where you have the PDF object.
Goto its WDDOMODIFYVIEW then type the code below.
data:

do it only once
If first_time = abap_true.
get the method handler
    lr_interactive_form ?= view->get_element( 'FINAL_PDF' ).

hide the toolbars
    lr_method_handler->set_hide_toolbars( abap_true ).
Endif.
Please make sure you type the correct name of the 'Interactive Object' in your layout. In my case,
my interactive form object name in the layout is FINAL_PDF.

Hi,
You need to create a UI element of the type BusinessGraphics. You then have to insert it in the view. Proceed as follows:
       1.      To edit the view click the view with the secondary mouse button and choose Edit.
       2.      In the Outline window click the default container RootUIElementContainer with the secondary mouse button and choose Insert Child.
       3.      Enter the ID BusinessGraphic in the field Name.
       4.      Select the type BusinessGraphics.
       5.      Choose Finish.
Finally the URL of the used Internet Graphics Server (IGS) must be defined for the inserted BusinessGraphics-UI-Element.
       6.      In the Outline view select the node BusinessGraphic [BusinessGraphics u2013 Child].
       7.      In the Properties view select the line Elementproperties of BusinessGraphics u2013 igsUrl and enter the URL of the used Internet Graphics Server.

Does Adobe Premier Pro CS6 and After Effects CS6 support the graphic found in the new late 2012 27" iMac?

Hi there guys! I´m very, very, VERY close to buy a full configuration iMac (the late 2012 27" model) but I have reed in different forums that Adobe Premier Pro CS6 and other applications from Adobe such as After Effects DO NOT support the graphic cards found in the new iMacs....
is this true??????
i really wouldn´t understad the logic behid the decission of picking a graphic card that is not supported by one of the leading video editing sofrware used today.... specially when this computer is suppoused to be an Editing Animal....
I hope this rumor is not real..... then I can be just... really happy and get my new desktop computer and work, work, work, work

Hi there Daniel, thanks for paying attention to this subject. Today I got an answer from Larry Jordan from his blog (I believe he is one of the "videoguys" from http://videoguys.com and he said that actually adobe does not support those GPU that we will find in the new late 2012 iMacs. However it seems there is a way to make that work out.....
here is his review on his new iMac, at the very botton you will see comments from people and his answers... one of the last coments is mine regarding this subject, this is what I asked and his answer:

Hi, I read that older MacBooks required a manual switch between the integrated graphics and discrete GPU.

The new MBP's with the Intel 4000 and the NVIDIA cards support automatic graphics switching. You can also use gfxCardStatus, which works with 2012 Mac's an Mountain Lion to make sure that auto graphics switching is enabled.

Draw OpenGL- or Direct3D graphics on IMAQ camera window?

I am making a vision-application to track the position and orientation of an object. Now I want to overlay OpenGL- or Direct3D graphics (or similar) onto the object in the image.
In other words, this will be sort of an Augmented Reality application.
Can I do this directly onto the IMAQ window that shows the live camera image? If yes - how? If no - then how? Do I have to show the image and the graphics with OpenGL or with Direct3D? Or any other ways?

Hm, well, I guess that does work, but then I have to figure out for myself what pixels need to be changed. I would rather like to just call some OpenGL-/GLUT functions like glutDrawSolidSphere() etc. Then I only have to worry about position, orientation and size of the cube - not as low-level as changing pixels.

If I understand the problem correctly (I’m not sure I do) you would prefer ‘iii’ to be read as “eye eye eye” rather than “three”? The alt text property is the only way that I know of to make this happen. Hope this helps.

AutoCad Supported NVIDIA Graphics Card for AUTOCAD 2013

We are an IT support company who have a client who has a HP 8200 elite with an Intel Core i7 Processor, 8GB RAM, a 1TB Hard Drive and requires to run AutoCAD 2013. We are struggling to find a graphics card that is supported on the 8200 elite, please see below for a list of support NVIDIA graphics cards, could you please advise if any of the ones from the list would work on an 8200? Ideally dont really want to spend more than £150 - £200.

Reduce File Size in Acrobat Pro (9.5.5) Corrupts Graphics in PDF Documents - shows up as black image

Whenever I use Reduce File Size in Acrobat Pro (9.5.5), sometimes some of the images (not all) get corrupted and show up as a black image in the new document.
Actually, the new reduced document looks okay when viewed in Acrobat, but the problem shows up when viewed in the Preview application on the Mac.
I'm using Acrobat 9.5.5 with Mac OS 10.8.6
I've tried re-importing the graphic into a new graphic box, which didn't work. Thinking there may be some type of corruption with the actual graphic file, I then tried viewing the graphic, then taking a screenshot of it to create a completely new file, and then re-importing the new graphic file into the original document (created in Adobe In Design 5.0.4). I then export the new document as a pdf, and brought it into Acrobat Pro to do the Reduce File Size. Same thing happens - black box appears where the graphic was.
I then tried using the Reduce File Size within the Save As function of the Preview application on the Mac - while the graphic remains intact, many of the other graphics in the document are "reduced" too much, to the point where the image quality is seriously degraded, and therefore not usable.
Any other ideas?

Some XML customizing not displayed correctly in graphic in PDF form

we have following problem: We want to create a read-only PDF with an integrated graphic with analytical data.
The PDF form is created with SFP. Data is extracted and the graphic rendered with the class CL_IGS_CHART_ENGINE.
We used SAP chart designer and transformed the XML into our string.
The graphic is displayed in our PDF, but some customizing settings in our XML are neglected, especially the font type, her only courier is displayed. Also some manual positions of legends don't work.
When I display the chart in the SAP GUI using cl_gui_chart_engine everything works fine, so I assume that the XML and the transformation is correct.
So where is the problem: Mime type? codepage? printing job?

What MIME type (picture type) has your generated picture? JPG for example is ok, but for exotic types please check in your LCD (place Image on the layout and open the dialog for picture assignment, you can see the allowed picture types in there).

p.s.: What is the mentioned XML customizing? XML is the form of the femplate, but I have never customized anything IN THERE. Did you change the XML source manually? Or what type of changes are not managed correctly?

Problem convert word 2007 acrobat 8 graphics to pdf

Having difficulty converting certain graphics from Word on Windows 7 Professional PC to Adobe PDF.
The same problem exists on the same PC regardless of whether Word 2007 or Word 365 is the originating software. So it is not a problem with the version of Word being used as some blogs have suggested.
Adobe Acrobat Professional 8.1.4 is installed, and Adobe 8 Distiller is configured according to the settings required.
PDF is created by using Word: File > Print > Adobe PDF Maker

The issues all seem to stem from Word 2007.
Things to get urls working seem to be as follows :
all links in word can't have a trailing /

When you add a url, each url must have a Screen Tip. You should have this anyway if you're sharing your word doc. It is all for the visually impared and audio I believe.
You have to use tables and not word art for boxes.

Does ExportPDF support conversion of a PDF to Word in RTL languages?

I have used my free conversion trial on a pdf document in Hebrew. The conversion conserved the entire document's text and structure, the problem is that each word was reveresed. The order of the words in the sentence was correctly converted, but the letters in the word were reversed. Could this problem be fixed? This is the only problem preventing me from using this product.
