Support for Business One in a Virtual (VM) environment.

First post - if I have the wrong location let me know.
Given note 14920000 can anyone explain the statement below that I got from my reseller after contact with SAP Support?  I am told this was the statement from SAP Support.
unfortunately SAP Business One will no longer provide any support statements on virtualization software as we consider it the virtualization vendor#s responsibility to
ensure operating system compatibility. SAP Business One is running on virtualization software just as it is running on non-virtualized operating system platforms.
Thanks,
Scott McClure

Hi Omega,
The message is clear: SAP will only treat the OS on the VM as the same as the original. Whatever related to VM issue, that is not SAP's business.

  • Need design Docs for Business One.

    HI All,
Background: I  am from a SCM background and wanted to familiarize myself with SCM software of SAP specifically for the SMB market.
What I want to learn: As mentioned above, the SCM solution of SAP for SMB market...all modules related to WM (Warehouse Management).
My interest in Architecture/Application: Both - technical as well as functional aspects of the SCM with a focus on WM.
From my perspective for SCM all modules of WM - Receiving, Putaway, Wave, Cross-Docking etc.
Will it be possible for you to assist me find some relevant documents/ppts regarding the same?
    Thanks in advance,
    Harsh.

    Hello Harsh,
Good to learn about your interest in knowing the WM side of SAP B1.
SAP Business One (out of the box) does not really have a WM / WMS module to handle the different aspects of the warehouse function.
This is being supplimented by a few Add-ons which provide this functionality to SAP B1.
RadioBeacon is one such addon from a company called Accellos based out of Toronto, Canada.
CitiXsys also has a WMS solution for Business One and that apart there are a few.
Pretty much all software would handle the basic WMS functions of Receiving, Putaway, Picking, Cross dock, Replenishment etc.
Unless you work with the specific Addon you would not have anything to learn on the SCM / Logistics / WMS side right out of Business One.
Let me know if you need more details

Hi all members, I want to know, just like Sharepoint Portal which are other portals to connect with Business Objects. Which are other portals to be supported with Business Objects? Kindly any member guide here.

    Izhar,
I would suggest going to the Business Objects Support site and doing a search on "portal integration kit" (and before clicking on search, choose your product via the "Products:" indicator, as well as choosing the Document Types of "Kbase Articles", "Product Documentation", and "Technical Papers").

  • Supported operating systems for Business One

    Hello,
I was under the impression that Business One was a solution for smaller organizations and only was officially supported for the msft operating system.
Can someone clarify/confirm if this is correct?
There is a pdf on this SDN site that seems to indicate that Business One also is supported for 64bit Linux: SAP Business One Application General [original link is broken]
    Thanks.
    Mike

If you read the article carefully, it clearly mentioned It is not official SAP document.  Secondly, it is only talking about B1 2004 version.  That is very old version as now 2005 would be soon out of mainstream support.
You first assumption is correct.  Only MS Windows is supported OS and B1 is designed for SME.
    Thanks,

  • Poor Support for business....

When I switched from AT&T to Verizon I did so under the impression that for business the phone coverage would be better. Unfortunately I traded that perception of service out for a poor phone that I'm now stuck with (at least till my renewal comes around).  The Droid 2 Global is a buggy phone.
The resident client for corporate email is terrible causing calendar events to not sync reliably and  the need to delete the account and reinstall every few weeks. Ultimately on one call to support their only recommendation was to install a 3rd party app to use instead that now forces me to enter my company server password twice instead of once.
The bluetooth stops responding ever couple of days and forces me to reboot the phone or it won't turn off (or won't turn on).
When I call people, on occasion, they can't hear me and I have to reboot the phone.
The phone gets hot to the touch with any kind of web surfing.
    The battery life is terrible.
Sometimes the screen doesn't blank out when you put a phone call to your ear (like it should) and I end up hanging up on the person.
Sometimes the screen icons and screens start to move back and forth by themselves and (you guessed it you have to reboot the phone).
    And the list goes on.
I've been waiting for the software upgrade for a month now that is supposed to fix many of these issues.
It is posted on Verizon's site today along with PDF instructions (labeled Verizon wireless) on downloading OTA.  That did not work and I called in twice to technical support. In both cases the technicians knew nothing about the upgrade and insisted I had the latest software version on my phone. On the first case once they discovered there was an update they couldn't tell me when or if I woudl be able to download later. On the second call the technician continued to tell me I have the correct version for my phone regardless of what the verizon website said and that I would just have to wait and see.  Could be a week or two.
I'm done. I've never had anyone cut me off in conversation that much and be that rude.
I can honestly say when my phone is up for renewal I will be switching back to my old carrier.

+1 with the OP... I switched to a FOP account for a bigger discount from the State of AZ account. Nothing but issues and problems.  Technically my  account is in the FOP's name, but I am an authorized user. However everytime I call in I get some dope on the other line that tells me IM NOT AUTHORIZED and they refuse to basically speak to me, however my name is on the bill **bleep**?
I WOULD switch back to my personal account and loose a whole WHOPPING 2% but at least I will have FULL CONTROL and dont have to deal with the dopes when I call 611.  Only thing that is stopping me right now is I am waiting for a Supervisor's Supervison to get be back to a personal plan WITHOUT the new tierd data. I currenlty have unlimited, If I cant have unlimited cuz this whole 2GB for 30 bux is **bleep** and  I will go semwhere else.

  • Have to change card because no driver support for over one yea

Hello I have a extreme music and theres been no update to the driver for well over one year now, and I have all sorts of bugs and issues with the current driver.
Why on earth has there been no driver for over one year? I can play half my games and some other software as theres sound error, either in software or in "sound" clicks and pops and such.
Is there anyone in here freom creative that can shed some light on these missing drivers, or do you just stop supporting you customers and HOPE they buy your product again?.
I demand an answer, wheres the drivers updates?.
It's looking like I may have to buy a new sound card, just to get some software support! whats the next best thing to creative? I wouldn't have to ask this if you supported me with new drivers.Message Edited by itskrom on -07-200706:24 PM

  • XI PCK for Business One Integration

    Hi,
can I use the XI Partner Connectivity Kit (PCK) for SAP Business One to integrate B1 with ERP via SAP XI? What is DI API exactly?
I don't see the point implementing another middleware like B1i when I use SAP XI for integration with mySAP applications.
    Thanks in advance.
    Alex

    Alexander,
You can use XI as a connector instead of ALE to connect mySAP ERP to B1i.  The DI API is the connector for SAP Business One.  The DI API or Data Interface API is part of Business One and the Business One SDK.  B1i exists to easily connect mySAP and SAP Business One without typical coding that would be required simply by using XI to connect with SAP Business One and mySAP.  B1i contains all of the connections, pre-defined content, message handling and error correction for common business scenarios to connect these to systems.  Without B1i, you have to hand code everything.  If you are not connecting with SAP Business One, then you may not have a need or requirement to use B1i.  There are more detailed whitepapers here from the SAP Business One main page on SDN.  You should have a look at those.

  • Sample questions for Business One certification

    Hi
I am looking  some sample questions for SAP business one implementation consultant certification exam.
please Gurues , help me in this matter. I am going to write certification in next week
    thanks
    Preeti Sati

    Hi Preeti,
the test is not that easy, I found that I really had to read the questions carefully & the multiple-choice answers even more carefully. Some of the answers initially looked as if they were saying the same thing & I needed to look twice to discern the tiny difference. It's these tiny differences that made it difficult, in my opinion.
Generally, I thought it touched on most aspects of 2007, with particular emphasis on the enhancements from lower versions. But if you have a good understanding of the product, look at all the e-learning & also, very important, at the available ETS & documentation, you should do well.I found the e-learning a bit limited & definitely benefited from the other materials available on the SMP.
    Good Luck!
    All the best,
    Kerstin

  • Email profile support for Samsung Android (KNOX) devices in integrated environment of SCCM 2012 R2 and Microsoft Intune

    Hi,
I could see that lot of TechNet articles are being updated recently with the information on Samsung Knox.
Tried to check the email profile configurations in the SCCM console, could not find Android platform in the supported platforms.
I could see this option available when I login to the admin portal of Intune. Can any one confirm if the extension for enabling email profile support for Samsung Kiosk devices id released or planned to be released.
    Regards
    Leela

Configuring email profiles on Andriod devices is not yet supported via ConfigMgr integrated with Intune, see also:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn554226.aspx
It probably will be in the future, but there are no dates available yet.

  • Apple ID for business, one device for multiple users

My workplace has purchased 3 iPads for staff use on 3 departments, each department has multiple employees each will require use of the device.
We'd like to avoid one staff member signing in with their personal Apple ID as the device will then be passed to a different team member and therefore to access apps would need the password from the Apple ID user.
We'd like control over what ID is used, what apps are installed and how the device is used.
Is there a business option for corporate Apple ID? If not, what is the best solution for this scenario?

3 iPads for staff use on 3 departments
It would be a lot of work to do it the official way. Best to read the riot act to the employees.  Assign one person in each department to administer the device.  Set them up with an apple id.  Set activation lock to apple id.
Now if you want to learn the business way...

  • Support for OnePlus One smartphone

Hi,I have been browsing around the internet for a new phone now for a while and I have come across the Oneplus One. Unfortunately Telstra does not sell any of these models of phones in Australia, but I am however able to ship them into the country. Several forums on the internet say that the Oneplus One will be able to connect to Telstra's 3G and 4G networks, others say that the phone cannot connect to the networks. The network specs of the phone are:2G NetworkGSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 19003G NetworkHSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 21004G NetworkLTE 700 / 1700 / 2600 /2300/2100/1800SIMMicro-SIM  I personally no idea on what these numbers mean.... so my question is, will the Oneplus One be able to connect to the 4G and 3G networks and support Telstra sim cards? Thanks for your help,Jordan

    This is actually incorrect information.
The OnePlus One works on *ALL* Australian networks including Telstra on both 3G and 4G.
Telstra utilises both Band 3 (1800MHz) and Band 1 (2100MHz) for their 4G network. In addition, the OnePlus One will support the upcoming roll out of Band 7 (2600MHz) coming at the end of 2014.
