Support for Canon M80 backup device

I have a Canon M80 backup device that I have used in the past with a mac that had OSX 10.4 but I have since purchased a new computer that came with OSX 10.5 which does not appear to support the M80. Problem is that I just got back from 7 weeks of shooting and I need to import the pictures in to aperture but the OS is not mounting the backup device.
Does anyone have any tricks that I could try to make this work
Thanks

Thanks John,
Very interesting.  I already tried to request a change using the feature request form but it wouldn't let me log in for some reason.
I just now tried the first thing you suggested (changing the driver to "legacy") and surprizingly it works well enough to recognize my camera as a capture device now.  Unfortunately, it does not show video in the capture window but it is capturing HDV video.  I am good with that!  I really want to see how well the software burns high def footage to standard DVD's.
Thanks for your help!

  • Lost camera raw support for canon 1ds markI in mountain lion

I seem to have lost system support for camera raw files for the original Canon 1ds (what you might call the markI). There's been two recent raw support updates, and I'm not sure if it occured with the first for those two updates or with update to Mountain Lion itself (which I recently clean-installed). I noticed it after the first raw support update (Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 4.01) but it could have happend with Mountain Lion install and I just didn't notice. In any case, I definitely don't have support for the camera raw files, finder shows only the generic TIFF icon thumnail (the raw files from the markI 1ds were of the extension .TIF, before canon moved on to .cr2 format..). Preview and Aperture can preview the file but without any custom white balance or other info stored with the raw file from camera.
Anybody else experience this or know fix?
    Thanks!
For anyone wanting and willing to test on their machine, I'll post a link to a test raw file.... hmm, apparently this support forum does not allow for the linclusion of a link to an image file, but I'll see if it allows for a link to a zipped folder with image inside... I suppose I wouldn't download a .zip file myself but for anyone braver than I:

    Lane,
That latest raw update also shows supported devices. The EOS-1Ds is still shown as supported by Mountain Lion in the knowledge base article that accompanies it. Bump!
I wonder if using Disk Utility and verify/fix permissions may restore your RAW capability.
    Don't have Aperture or Lightroom.
I installed the recent raw updates into 10.8.2. The DB5W2360.TIF file has a generic Preview icon. Graphic Converter 8.3.1 opens .cr2 files, and it opened this TIF file nicely as well. GC is willing to modify white balance with a condition that it cannot be done in place, and must be exported to a different format.
    Not much help, I know.

  • Lack of support for Canon G7 and G9. Alternatives?

I am really disappointed about the lack of support for the Canon G9, and looking at the list of compatible cameras (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306835) I notice that Canon G7 - even if it does not have a RAW format, is not supported either.
I am thinking that the purchase of the G9 may have been premature and that I may need to sell it and get another cam that is supported by Apple/Aperture.
What would you guys do? Is there a cam out there similar to the G9 at the moment that has a Apple-supported RAW format?
    Best regards,
    Kjell Are Refsvik

I think the camera closest to the G9 that has RAW support from Apple are the Panasonic DMC-LX2/Leica D-Lux 3 twins. Don't know where you are, but in the US, the Panasonic costs about $400. 10MP, 28-112mm (35mm equivalent) Leica lens, very compact body, and RAW output. The Leica costs $599, and has that classic look.
I don't know much about that cameras, but you may want to investigate.

  • Support for Canon G9?

Does anyone know when Apple will support the Canon G9?
Just got my new camera, plugged it in and iPhoto '08 (v7.1) did not want to know about the CR2 files. It accepted the jpegs from the G9, but not the raw files.
    Thanks everyone.

Okay, off topic now, but anyway...
The G9 is a great little camera. I personally think the 12Mp sensor is a bit optimistic for the sensor size, but so far the pix are excellent. I try and keep the ISO to 80. This is a lot easier than it was with my old film camera (EOS 30) shooting Fuji Velvia at ISO 50, especially with the G9's image stabiliser. I was surprised at the edge to edge sharpness especially after a little sharpening in PS. I only bought this model because it supported RAW format, my first point and shoot digital camera. This camera has been built for the photo enthusiast as many of the controls eg, fstop, shutter speed have on-screen sliders that look very similar to the graduations on a 35mm camera. Also I love the live view histogram and the manual focus is now a dream. So many nice features about this camera. I will still use my EOS10D for 'serious' landscape work, but I am sure now that I have this little item I will be taking many more photos and not missing out on those 'once-in-a-lifetime' shots.
It's a real pain that OSX does not yet support this camera. I find that iPhoto is a really neat little program for storing all of my images, even though I process all my stuff in PS. I also have Lightroom, and I am particularly peeved that Apple has 'consolidated' the iPhoto database into one package. I was using Lightroom to reference the older version of iPhoto, and now it (LR) cannot access the database.
I know you can open the iPhoto 'package' but this is a manual finder operation. Don't know how to make Lightroom get into it...yet.
Before you ask. Tried out Aperture. Yes, I would love to use it, but contrary to what Apple will tell you, it does not run with any ease of use on my 2GHz G5 iMac. Gave up after two weeks of frustration with it. Far too slow to the point of being unusable. Annoying really, because I really like the tight integration of Apple products. If Adobe can make Lightroom run on my 'older' machine, and quickly, why cannot Apple make Aperture do the same?
Enough ramblings. Apple will probably terminate this thread now anyway, Too many off-topic items.
    cheers

  • Camera Raw Support for Canon 7D MkII

Just trying to get some idea if I should spend the $99.00 to buy Aperture from the Apple Store.  This might sound a little over the top, but the work flow I miss by not having RAW support in Lightroom is worth the expense of buying Aperture.
I do find it very disappointing that Adobe have not as yet provided support for the new Canon 7D MkII.  This will be a VERY popular camera.
More importantly I find this tardiness on Adobe's part very disappointing because they market CC buy saying "You will always have up to date software".  When you consider Apple and Google Picasa have both already supported the Canon 7D MkII.  I might add they both had support for the camera within days of it's release on 31 of Oct.
    So after my little rant.
Can anybody from Adobe advise when we will see Camera Raw support the new Canon 7DMkII?
Even if it is in Beta form I would be very happy to be a Beta tester.  I have very extensive experience in testing software and would be prepared to do structured Beta testing.  I would be very happy if someone from Adobe Labs would contact me for the purpose of Beta testing Camera Raw support for the 7D MkII.
    Kind Regards
    Tom Croll

Thanks ssprengel, you have clearly put into words what is currently reality at Adobe, and confirmed my suspicion of Aperture being a dead product.  Although Google's Picasa is not dead.
I do realize Adobe Products are very well developed and software does take time to perfect before it gets released.  I have been in the software development game for 35 years
But Camera RAW is an adjunct to Lightroom, Photoshop, Premier Pro etc.  As such the support for new camera models should be a relatively simple exercise and should not be held up by other R&D on the products that Camera Raw plugs into.  I believe they have in the past released updates to Camera Raw that essentially was just for new camera models.  I do realize I could be wrong on this point, but I fail to see why they can't achieve this outcome.
Also, as I said Adobe Market Creative Cloud membership saying you will always be up to date. Or words to that effect.
To have an Adobe support person get upset because he has a large number of people pestering Adobe, and not him personally, trying to get ans answer as to the timing of the release of support for a new camera model, quite frankly is totally unacceptable.  Not acceptable to the customers and not acceptable to the poor support person who has to handle disgruntled customers due to poor planning on Adobe's part.
In my original post I made a very serious offer to do Beta Testing on support for the Canon 7DMkII Raw files.  But when i last checked with Adobe Labs the current Beta does not include support for this camera.
There maybe extenuating circumstances around the timely supply of this support.  Like when did Canon provide the Specs for the 7D MkII and are those specs so different from other currently supported models.   Even some feedback as to what the problem is, would help us understand.
I hope I have expressed my thoughts objectively and hope this discussion stream will get to management at Adobe.  In fact I am very inclined to ensure it does get to senior management.  I don't want to start writing a personal letter to the Chairman of Adobe's Board, but sometimes things do need a shake up.
    Kind Regards
    Tom Croll

  • How can I get support for Canon Powershot S110 in CS5 Photoshop?

Does anybody know how to get support for using raw files created by Powershot S110 in PS CS5? PS CS5 does not open them and requires an update. However, this camera is not listed in the description of Camera Raw updates (the top model of this series is S100 in the list) and the latest update is also not compatible with CS5.

Which operating system are you using?
Since photoshop cs5 can only use up to camera raw 6.7 and that camera needs at least camera raw 7.3, you'll need the 8.6 adobe dng converter to convert the canon s110 camera raw files to dng copies which then photoshop cs5 should be able to open.
For windows xp, vista or mac os x 10.6.8 use the 8.3 adobe dng converter

  • Premiere Pro CS5 native support for Canon 5D/7D

So now that the newest version of Premiere Pro will offer native support for HDSLR like the Canon 5D and 7D, does this mean that editing will be much faster??  Meaning, is there no reason now to export to an intermediate codec like Cineform for faster editing because CS5 will be able to edit the h.264 files without lag?  I was just curious as this will make up my decision of upgrading from CS4 to CS5.

Through history, Adobe has promised a lot of things that have:
    - Caused many to experience that it's not so, and therefor a lot of screaming/complaints. Most of which (screaming/complaints) has been because people are doing something that is not correct, or installed stuff that screws things up, and so on.
    - Caused many people to get great benefits from the new features, and they (many people) have computers that they keep clean and follow needed specifications.
    - Sometimes things just don't work, or stop to work (Clip Notes in CS3).
The funny thing is that I have CS3 and edit the video footage from my 7D natively without any problems whatsoever. OK, maybe not quite realtime playback without rendering the timeline, but pretty close. My PC is quite ordinary, Q6600 CPU, 4GB RAM, and 8800GT w/1GB RAM, no over-clocking or special treatments done.
The little extra funny thing is that if I apply MB Looks to my 7D footage, it gets to be more or less realtime playback, probably because Looks forces the GPU to be used.
    Bottom line:
Whatever Adobe promises, you'll have to make sure you have the clean gear for it if you want it to work. Except for that, some just are lucky.

  • RAW support for Canon SX-50

I use Photoshop Elements 10 and I have a Canon SX-50 camera. When is Adobe going to add RAW support for the Canon SX-50?

You need to upgrade to PSE11 as PSE10 will not get updated. Or use canon DPP to convert CR2 to tiff and then use the tiff files in PSE10. But you will find PSE11 has a much better raw engine, notably for adjusting highlights and shadows.

  • Email profile support for Samsung Android (KNOX) devices in integrated environment of SCCM 2012 R2 and Microsoft Intune

    Hi,
I could see that lot of TechNet articles are being updated recently with the information on Samsung Knox.
Tried to check the email profile configurations in the SCCM console, could not find Android platform in the supported platforms.
I could see this option available when I login to the admin portal of Intune. Can any one confirm if the extension for enabling email profile support for Samsung Kiosk devices id released or planned to be released.
    Regards

Configuring email profiles on Andriod devices is not yet supported via ConfigMgr integrated with Intune, see also:

It probably will be in the future, but there are no dates available yet.

  • BlackBerry Enterprise Cloud Services - MS Exchange Online Plan 2 - Support for Legacy 7.1 Devices and Costs?

    Hello.
All questions below relate to the MS Exchange Online Plan 2, and BlackBerry Enterprise Cloud Services (BBCS).
         -  How much does it cost to install the BBCS service?
         -  Is there support for legacy 7.1 BlackBerry devices?
I have searched online for these answers but I've been unsuccessful answering these two questions. I'm aware that BBCS is available
for the Exchange Online Plan 2 but I cannot confirm if there is a fee. Likewise, I've been unable to find out if legacy 7.1 OS BlackBerry devices are support on BBCS.
    Many thanks.

  • RAW Support for Canon G9

Looked at the RAW Support page this morning after the website was updated and it appears there were no updates to support the Canon G9. Is this correct? Or have some of you received software updates this morning.
    Thanks

I've downloaded the Lightroom demo (my 3rd time) and imported 266 D300 RAW photos from a Sunday morning shoot. I prefer Aperture, but I'm giving LR another chance. It's not that bad. My problem is that all our Macs are on Tiger and I really don't want Leopard (I also run many programs simply not compatible with Leopard), so in all likelihood will have to switch to LR/PS, which is rapidly becoming the standard anyways. I have to say performance is much faster but the 5 workflow separations in the user experience is inefficient, an artificial "silo" approach. Apertures UI model is much more flexible and transparent.
I'll wait this week out and see if anything happens...

  • RAW support for Canon PowerShot SX1

    Hi All,
In the absence of Apple support for the Powershot SX1 IS any suggestions on how to work with this camera easily in a workflow shooting RAW?
I have seen a few archived posts with some suggestions such as the Adobe DNG converter but unfortunately the camera is not supported by the converter (just Photoshop CS and Elements).
Would LOVE to get some apple support here but at the moment I am going to have to find a workaround or go the Adobe application path...
    Thanks in Advance.

Adobe converter works fine if you haven't adjusted the file.
I was using LR2 and DNG files and anything that has been cropped or adjusted won't show in aperture 3 even after going through the converter.
The only way it worked way to open it in Photoshop and change it to a photoshop file. Then Aperture 3 recognizes it.
I wish apple would just add the SX1 IS to it's raw support.

  • Support for Canon raw files in panther and iPhoto

I can't get iPhoto 6 to import the raw files (.cr2) from my Canon 400D.
I can use image capture and also Elements 4 with Raw support, so I am not sure if its the operating system level (panther) or something else.
I did use iPhoto with my previous Canon with .CRW files and that worked fine to import them, organise them and then edit etc externally in Photoshop.
Is there any way out there to do this without upgrading the OS or iPhoto, I appreciate I have a way to continue working but miss the convenience of the easy import.

Suggest you buy (about $10 - $20) a USB memory card reader. Just plug your camera's memory card into it & copy the pic files to your Mac. Quicker & easier than interfacing the camera for pic transfer.
     Cheers, Tom

  • Camera Raw CC and CS6 and Lightroom 5 Support for Canon SX60 Canon 7D Mark II

I have just bought my wife Canon SX60 and loaded pictures into Bridge and saw that Camera Raw does not recognize Canon SX60 CR2s. I checked the supported cameras and saw SX60 is not in the list. I will be purchasing a Canon 7D Mark II on Tuesday and see that it is also not supported. I saw in a forum post that the 7D is not in the current Camera 8.7 but will be part of the Camera Raw 8.7 "production release". I currently have Photoshop CC, Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 5 will both cameras be supported in the next "production version" of Camera Raw and Lightroom 5 and when is it scheduled for release (I saw some thoughts that it would be by the end of year but was hopefully we can get a more definitive date).
    Thanks

It has been indicated that both of those cameras will be supported in the final release of Camera Raw 8.7. But there is no announced release date. There never is. I assume it will be before December 31. But that is only my guess based on the fact that the release candidate expires then.

  • RAW support for Canon EOS 70D in Lightroom 4.

I have LR 4 and now I have bought a Canon 70D.  Lightroom said it was unable to interpret the RAW files and directed me to get an update.  I have updated to 4.4 and still have the same problem.  How can I get my RAW files into Lightroom 4?

That camera was added in Lightroom 5.2. Download the trial version and give it a try. Then you can purchase from Adobe and they will send you a serial number. All you have to do is activate the trial version. The trial version will be 5.3, so your camera will be supported. You can use it for 30 days without restriction. You can purchase your serial number any time during that period.  You can install the trial version and try it without interfering with your present Lightroom installation at all. There is no risk, both versions run independently. You can remove Lightroom 4 whenever you decide to.
