Support for Intel SE7501Wv2 SCSI server board

I see in HCL on Sun's page
that SE7501Wv2 mother board is reported to work,
but will the version with SCSI controller
SE7501Wv2 SCSI work too? The SCSI controller
on that board is I think from Adaptec.

You can also use the "stock" 0.7.2 install CD on the 965 chipset.  Just pass in the following parameters when booting from the CD (at the GRUB boot line):
arch all-generic-ide irqpoll
That will allow the kernel to detect the JMicron controller and use it.

  • Support for Intel's EM64T processor?

Will Sun add support for Intel's EM64T processor? The AMD64 version of the VM does not work because it contains 3Dnow! instructions, which Intel's EM64T processor does not support.

I have seen this answer and link many times but I
cannot find 1.5.0_011.5.0 update 01 has not been released yet. Updates for the major releases (1.4.x, 5.x, etc...) typically ship about every 3 months (barring showstoppers or unforseen problems). That has been the pattern for the past few years.
Can you run the jdk-1_5_0-windows-i586 (32-bit) bundle in the meantime?
    Hope this helps.

  • Why does MSI P4N have no support for Intel Preslor and Asus Nforce 4 does??

Well as you've probably guessed it im new to the forums (howdy all  ). I currently own a MSI P4N diamond motherboard and quite frankly i most dissapointed with what has been called (by too many reviewers) a great board.
First off i see very little changes taking place with each bios update, of which does not seem to happen regularly at all. (lets face it no board is perfect especially the Nforce 4 range from MSI for Intel CPU's).
Secondly overclocking a Pentium D 830, which i may add should be capable of overclocking very well on an Intel Nforce board, can barley reach 3.4 Ghz (i know its mobo issue as the CPU is water cooled and overclocks to way beyond 3.7 on an 955X board).
Thirdly the North bridge fan was poorly stuck on my motherboard in that on installing my motherboard into my case it popped off like the lid of a pringles tub by a slight movement of my hand  .
And last but least... why does the MSI P4N diamond motherboard not support Intels latest 65nm CPU's when ASUS's and Gigabyte's Nforce 4 motherboards work well with the Pentium D and the 65nm range of Intel CPU's. Upon also reading about the next gen of Intel CPU's the Conroe, the 975X motherboards will support the future CPU via a bios update and it has been said that the same is likely to happen for the Nforce 4 range... however once again due to the lack of support for the MSI P4N diamond by MSI i believe all of us owners of this pathetic (an over statement really but its going to be that way if MSI keeps this up) over hyped motherboard will get a simple NO in the CPU support table for the next gen range of CPU's.

Where did you get the information regarding the MSI P4N diamond's release date?
Are you in the United Kingdom? As it was released at the same time as the other Nforce 4 boards here (i was on the edge of my seat waiting for the Nforce boards to be released on overclockers.co.uk for sale) In the end though i bought my mothreboard in October, which is a good few weeks after release.
Is there any kind of SLI 32 on MSI's plans? this is what worries me as they have made a move in the 975X department but have not made any further developmentes in the Nforce range for Intel, which to the average joe kind of indicates loss of intrest in this field from the company.
I am overall pleased with my motherboard, when using a single core CPU, as overclocking was a sheer joy, but as soon as the dual core CPU went in the mothreboard behaves like a drunk man coming from a pub. I am aware that the Nforce 4 chipsets struggle with the dual core CPU's but surely Nvidia were informed by Intel about the dual core CPU's being released in the future.

  • Client support for Intel Mac

Does anybody know if and when there will be support for MacOs on Intel Macs for the client libraries?

Unfortunately not many people who use Oracle also use Macs (let's face it, Macs are a small percentage of desktop usage in most business spheres). Combine this with the fact that the Intel Mac is a recent innovation and so currently represents a sliver of Mac usage compared to PowerPC, and you'll see that Oracle clients on Intel Macs must be quite low on the priority scale for porting.
I agree that this is frustrating for you and your clients, but Oracle have to make hard commercial decisions. One of those decisions is to favour the mainstream OS flavours over the niche ones. They never supported Macs until Apple switched to a Unix-based OS, because the previous OS would have been too much work for too lsmall a market segment. They never supported BeOS either, for precisely the same reason.
I guess they will eventually port the Oracle clients to Intel Macs, but not just yet. Still,Any word on MacIntel support? you're not alone.
    Cheers, APC

  • Support for Intel Driver 10.18.10.3496

I'm trying to upgrade my driver to the latest Iris driver from Intel:
     https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23714&ProdId=3712&lang=eng&OSVersion...
My computer is an X1 Carbon 3443.  The new driver just came out last month.  However, when I try to run the installer, it gives the error "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer.  Please obtain the appropriate driver from computer manufacturer".
So I checked the drivers available from Lenovo, but the latest version there is 9.17.10.2875, which is not new enough.  I attempted to uninstall the Lenovo driver and install the Intel driver manually, but the installation failed with "This operation requires an interactive window station.".
How soon will the new driver be supported through Lenovo?  Or is there a way to install it directly that I haven't tried?  Thanks!

  • Video support for Intel

    Hi all,
I have Solaris 8 for Intel installed on a Dell Dimension XPS t750r desktop machine. It has a Nvidia TNT 32 MB video card. However, during and after install, the install didn't recoginize the card. I then attempted to select it from the list and test, but Solaris generated an error. Because of this I was forced to select VGA only.
Is there a workaround to this?

    Wonder if this might help?

  • GLSL support for intel x3100 video cards?

I recently purchased a Lenova Thinkpad T61. I opted for an Intel integrated graphics card (X3100) since I had heard Intel had good open source drivers. Recently, I tried to play with some GLSL (OpenGL Shading Language) programming, but was greeted with segfaults at every turn. I finally downloaded and ran the examples from the bottom of this page: http://www.lighthouse3d.com/opengl/glsl … glexample1
Much to my surprise, they told me "No OpenGL 2.0 support" and "No GLSL support", respectively.
I am using xf86-video-intel-2.2.0-2 and the "Driver" in my xorg.conf is "intel".
Does anyone know anything about this? Am I out of luck hardware wise, or is this just a driver thing? Is support coming anytime soon? Am I using the wrong driver?
    Thanks,
    Jeremy

The GMA X3100 really doesn't have OpenGL 2.0 support, only OpenGL 1.5 support.
    See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_GMA# … d_chipsets
I really don't know if the GLSL support can be implemented by the driver without OpenGL 2.0 hardware support.

Just want to share the news that I was able to install the new Intel Chipset drivers that add OpenGL 2.0 support to their integrated graphics chips, such as the X3100.
This driver was released in December 2008 and even though Intel recommends waiting for OEM versions from Toshiba, I decided to try theirs.

Maybe someone will try the exe file installation and report back -
I followed the manual installation instructions and for now everything works fine.

    Hi mate
First of all thanks a lot
Ive got a U400 and I have installed a Intel graphic card driver from the Intel page too.
I didnt execute the exe file but I updated my driver in device manager.
    This worked fine.
Also I read here in the forum that drivers from external pages can be used only at the own risk because such drivers are not tested and not certified by Toshiba
However, my U400 run trouble free till now.

  • OpenCL support for Intel HD 4000 Graphics

I have a colleague who uses a Mac Mini, late 2012 model, with a Intel HD 4000 graphics processor, OS X Mavericks 10.9.3. Even though the processor supports OpenCL, PP CC (2014) does not use the Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (OpenCL). Can anyone give any feedback, if this is possible, or when this will be possible? Thanks. Peter

i was chatting with a support person
i dont think he knew what it was talking about
my problem is that i understand that this card was not available before the premiere cc version came out
but fromwhat  i understand afterwards some cards were available for mercury playback accelaration even though they were not certified
the intel hd card is available for use in premiere cc and adobe media encoder cc as well
i just need to know (like the person before me) if there is a way to make my gpu available for that new version now
or if this is something in the works for later
