Support for multiple Exchange postboxes in Snow Leopard

I have an exchange account on a external exchange server.
My account has several 'postboxes', all accessible trough this one account. (so email send to [email protected] and [email protected] all are visible in different postboxes).
I use Snow Leopard at home. Connecting to the exchange account is no problem, but how to I get access to the other postboxes. Apple Mail only show the 'main' postbox

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669 i'd look here first, if its not there some times manufactures make drives and for get to tell apple about it and they have the drivers on their web site. hope this helps

  • Need to Know:  Support for HP P1006 Printer in Snow Leopard

Hi: Anyone out there using a P1006 printer on Snowleopard?
Just bought a new iMac. I have a chance to pick up an HP P1006 printer at a great price, but am unsure if driver support is built into snow leopard or if I must go to HP to download. I checked HP's site and they are very vague about the specific Mac operating systems they support with this printer model. I looked on Apple's doc pages and it was unclear whether the driver is already on snow leopard or I must download it. I'd love to know before I spend the money.
Thanks for your help! I truly appreciate any advice you can throw my way.

  • Support for multiple Exchange accounts

I can't seem to get multiple exchange accounts to work in Mail. Everything I have read says it should work but no such luck.
I have 4 accounts on our exchange server so i need them all in Mail. The first one I set up works fine, but if I add others, the messages do not appear in the mailboxes anymore.
Has this happened to anybody else? I have tried it on my iMac and my MacBook Pro and the same thing happens on both.

    Same thing happens to me.
When I add a second exchange account, all of the mail (including folders) from the first account move into the second one. The first account that was added is empty. I have two other exchange accounts, but haven't dared to add them. For now, I deleted the second account and have just the one (that is used the most) setup in Mail.

I used Roxio VHS to DVD for Mac (have iMac with Snow Leopard) and the audio does not synch with the video when playing in iMovie.  Any suggestions to fix?

Thanks for the reply.  I tried playing with detaching the audio in iMovie, but with 20+ hours of video to correct, it would take too long.  After 28 hours, Corel/Roxio tech support replied that it is a known bitrate mismatch problem and they have no real fix.  I strongly suggest not to buy this product.

  • Best directory for isnatlling Unix Applications in Snow Leopard?

Can someone advise me on the best location for installing Unix Applications in Snow Leopard? Should I install them in /usr/local or create a new /opt directory for them? My understanding is that OS X 10.6 does not come with /opt. I prefer to install manually and not use third party software (e.g. Fink).
    Many thanks.

If you are downloading and compiling your own sources, then /usr/local/... would be the expected location.
If you are using the MacPorts.org already ported packages, then get placed in /opt/local/...
If you are using Fink.sf.net already ported packages, then the get placed in /sw/...
And for a few Unix tools at work, and I can not modify my host system, I put it in $HOME/local/..., which works for me because my company uses NFS to allow the use of my same home directory on multiple systems. This works as long as I do not exceed my corporate home directory storage quota

  • Feature request: Support for Multiple Libraries (like in iMovie)

From the threads, I can tell this topic was raised by many for many years. I would like to propose support for multiple iPhoto libraries -- or more specifically, the ability to distribute media across different storage devices.
There is a huge gap between my spacially limited MBP 250 GB SSD and my external 4 TB HDD. I am aware that I can juggle two separate libraries in iPhoto but it's just not practical and the moving of media between the libraries is not a simple drag and drop effort but involves exporting and importing with me having to clean up on one side or the other.
iMovie has had support for several libraries for a long time presumably because the sheer size of media in the video realm gave the iMovie team little choice.
I can't be the only one having this itch, right?

Again, you need to clarify your terms
Aperture can move master photos files around. With Aperture you can write additional metadata to the original file.
You don't need multiple libraries to thematically arrange photos, though. A simple keywordign system will do that.
So in Aperture I don't have to restart into different libraries?
You can have all your photos in a sinble library with the master files stored off-disk easily. You can relocate them from disk to disk too. However, if you;re doing presentations that is probably not necessary if you generate good quality previews. I'd ask about these things on the Aperture forum for more.

  • Support for multiple libraries...?

Hi, I have a question as how is the best way to manage y music libraries given my usage scenario.
First let me set the context of what I have. I have over 35GB of ripped music, that resides in an external drive. Currently this music is available through my iTunes application, but it is NOT part of my lybrary (meaning I imported but did NOT copy it into the library). I do NOT want to have 35GB of music in my notebook's HD.
My iTunes library is in my local HD (music folder). This is a small file that basically has the 'podcasts' and the 'artwork'.
What do I want? I would love to keep all my music and videos on the external drive, and have my podcasts in my local HD. This way when I am on the road, I can update the podcasts, without having to carry with me all my music.
This all works fine the way I have it now, except that every time I rip a new CD or buy music from the iTunes Store, they go to my local HD and not my external drive.
Any ideas on how to work this out? I would love support for multiple libraries, but I don't thnks it's possible as far as I looked into it.
    Thanks SO much!

This all works fine the way I have it now, except that every time I rip a new CD or buy music from the iTunes Store, they go to my local HD and not my external drive.
Set the 'iTunes Music folder location' (Preferences>Advanced>General) to the music folder on your external.
The next time you rip a CD or purchase music, it will be stored there.
Note: the 'iTunes Music folder location' is not the folder where your music is, but the location where iTunes stores imported music (and added music when 'Copy files to.....' is checked)
If you ran iTunes once with your external drive not attached/mounted, this location is reset to the internal drive.
iTunes 7 has support for multiple libraries. Press and hold the Option-key on launching iTunes until a window pops up which asks you to choose a library or create a new one.
Libra and iTunes Library Manager both work with iTunes 7 and older versions. They also save the preferences for every library you created.
    Hope this helps.

  • HP Instructions for Printing and Scanning Under Snow Leopard

HP has posted instructions for Snow Leopard users for printing, faxing, and scanning on HP printers.
While the scan button (and installed HP printer management software) may no longer work on the printer, you can still scan if you go through the Preview or Image Capture programs on your Mac to access the scanner.
I tried it on my HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless printer that was unable to scan after upgrading to Snow Leopard, and it worked.
HP has posted the printer instructions for Snow Leopard at: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01846935&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en &product=1153481
Hope this helps some of you. It worked for me.

You can download VueScan as a trial without paying for it unless you want to.
As for enabling scanning with Image Capture you need the proper driver. As a start I would ask HP's tech support if they can help you get it working. Apple does not write any printer or scanner drivers. They are provided by HP or other printer manufacturers. Apple packages them for distribution with OS X. It's quite possible that the current scanner driver for your model isn't compatible with SL.
If you understand modern technology then you have to appreciate the fact that most things become obsolete within months. This is certainly true of computers and their peripherals. Software developers cannot keep up the pace with the hardware. A two year old printer has been obsolete for more than a year already. Unless HP still sells and manufactures that model, they tend to lose interest with them. SL only arrived in October 2009 which is after your model was released. So HP needed to provide compatible drivers. If they have then perhaps the problem with yours is related to something else, but I don't know what that would be beyond completely uninstalling all the HP software then letting the OS figure out what to install. SL automatically discovered both my printer and scanner, then installed the drivers for each.

  • MacBook Pro keyboard drivers for Windows 7 guest under Snow Leopard

I am running Snow Leopard along with Vmware Fusion 3.1. MY guest machine is 64bit Windows 7 (I have tried 32 bit but have the same problem)I am unable to change the keyboard in Windows to anything other than 'Standard PS2' so the key mapping is hopeless. I have installed the bootcamp keyboard drivers but can't find them on the system anywhere. All I really want is a .inf file for Windows 7!!!
    Any suggestions gratefully received!!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
The Snow Leopard disc that came with the computer has got Boot Camp 3 drivers, and the latest drivers for your Mid 2009 MacBook Pro are Boot Camp 4. As you are using OS X Lion, you can download them from Boot Camp Assistant or from the Support page > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630

  • Best practice for iCloud across Lion and Snow Leopard

    Hi all,
I'm not going to bleat about SL not supporting iCloud. I understand the business model.
However, I'm wondering if any of you are in the same shoes as me and, if so, how you handle content management across iCloud compatible and incompatible devices.
I have Lion on our 6month old iMac and Snow Leopard on my 6 year old Macbook.  This Macbook is still incredibly fast and reliable. I program websites across both devices using software like Coda 2, Transmit, etc etc...
I'm a huge fan of the cloud and, while I can use dropbox on all my devices, I kinda like the inbuilt functionality of iCloud more.  (Plus I have more space there). Just wondering what workflows people are using to try and sync and work with content across compatible and incompatible devices.
    Cheers,

There are some hacks to using iCloud with Snow Leopard. One of the keys is you must use iCloud as your primary source for Contacts and Calendars. That is, when you want to make additions or changes to either your calendar or contacts you really MUST do it from the web interface to iCloud. Otherwise you may wind up with duplicates.

  • How can I get iLife for an older macbook with Snow Leopard?

I have a 2008 macbook. I just got Snow Leopard and was told I don't have the specs to upgrade to Mountain Lion. When I upgraded, I lost my whole iLife suite (I think because it was actually just a trial or sample), but I can't buy the latest version of iLife because it requires Mountain Lion.
I feel like Apple is trying to force me into buying a new computer, which really *****! They should offer support to all of their users, not just the most up-to-date ones....The whole reason I originally switched to mac was so that I wouldn't have to buy a new computer every few years!
And before anyone suggests anything with disks, I don't have my original install disks. I'm living abroad and it was 5 years ago...
    Any suggestions?

If you are unsuccessful in obtaining replacement disks for your Macbook you can purchase an iLife 09 disk for a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: iLife 09

  • Exchange 2007 and Snow Leopard Setup...HELP

I know this topic may have been covered in here previously but I have yet to find a solution.
Here is the background. Our CEO has a Mac Book and two weekends ago he updated to Snow Leopard and now wants to use the Mail client on his Mac rather than OWA to get his email. We have Exchange 2007 (I am the Admin) and have all the latest patches and Roll Ups installed. We run OWA without issue and have 10 iPhones working perfectly (i realized they use different technology to sync). I enabled EWS by following this link http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb201695.aspx and this is the actual command i used:
    Set-WebServicesVirtualDirectory -identity exchaname\EWS* -externalurl https://webmail.domain.com/EWS/Exchange.asmx -BasicAuthentication:$True
Seems to have run properly and there are no errors reported.
Now when I go to connect using the Mac it does not Auto Discover and I must enter manually. I enter what i think it needed and its not working. On the Account Information Tab I have the following:
    Description: generic name
    Email Address: [email protected]
    Full Name: The Person's Name
Internal Server: webmail.domain.com *Not sure what should be here
External Server: Webmail.domain.com *Again not sure if this is correct
Username: AD user name Also tried domain\username
    Password: AD password
Ougoing Mail Server: not sure what should be here
Next is the Mailbox behavior Tab:

    Advanced Tab:
    Internal Server Path: EWS/Exchange.asmx
    Port:80 SSL unchecked
    External Server: EWS/Exchange.asmx
