Support for OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)?

Hi,
I gather that InCopy supports 10.6.8, 10.7 and 10.8. Is there any planned support for the new OSX 10.9 (Mavericks)?
InDesign already supports 10.9, so hopefully InCopy will also support it!
Regards,
Srijith

Thanks for the response. I am using CS6 (8.0.2). When I try to click on the icma files to open, I get a popup - Cannot open filename.icma   If I drag and drop the file into an open InCopy window I get the popup
What could be going wrong? Would uninstall-install do any good?

I see that Flash CS6 is not supported (http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/kb/mountain-lion-support-flash-professional.html ) . My coworkers and I are not able to see some fonts and the colorpickers are not working properly as mentioned at the URL.
Can you make the previous version of Flash available for download and use with cloud membership just for this OS X 10.8 issue.
It'd be more of a hassle for us to revert back to an older OS then to just get an extra older version of Flash on our system.

If I remember right there "may" be a problem if you have a proxie settings enabled.
System Preferences/ Network/ Advanced/ Proxies. Can't remember which one or if it was an issue in 10.7 or 10.6. Just make sure their all unchecked and try again.
You might try a search in these forums for more information. Different fix's for different issue's.
    Sorry I can't help more.........

  • Is exFAT OK for OSX

Is exFAT Ok for OSX - 10.9 Maverick.  Ive just got my first macbook (thankyou Santa)  and want to set up a wireless hard drive to serve both my PC and MacBook. I know FAT will work but understand there are issues with file size >4gb and it would be good to store DVD movies etc

Yes. Note that the formatting rules are different for network drives; only the device which the drive is directly connected to counts.

  • Problems scanning HP PHOTOSMART 5520 with OSX 10.9 Mavericks

    Hi,
I have recently download OS 10.9 Mavericks. And now HP PHOTOSMART 5520 SCAN is not working properly. In fact I cannot scan. I use the printer by wifi.
Do we need drivers for OSX 10.9 Mavericks?
    Alberto Bermejo

I should be more clear. Scanning with HP Scan, I can scan and see a preview. I can save the file ONCE but the image or docuement is garbled when I open the saved file. If I try to save again using a different format (and a different name), I get the error:
"An error has occured saving the file because it could not be written to. Check the proerties for the file to make sure it is not read-only."

  • Is driver for OSX 10.10 Yosemite available Laserjet CP1525nw?

I am getting ready to update my computers to OSX 10.10 but noticed that the latest available driver is for OSX 10.9 Mavericks.  Will the Mavericks driver work with Yosemite?  If not, will a new driver be released, and if so, how soon?
    Thanks--

    @rain007
Great question regarding the different naming conviention between the HP Color Pro Laserjet cp1525nw and the HP Color Laserjet cp1525nw. These are actual the same printer so please don't get confused by the word "Pro" being added.
You will also notice that you now get your Apple drivers via the Apple Software Update or ASU. Here are a couple of reference documents that should be of help.
Installing the Full Feature HP Print Driver in OS X v10.10 Yosemite with a USB Cable
Installing the OS X v10.10 Yosemite HP Print Driver from Apple Software Update
If the driver is not located in the ASU, then the dmg file is located on the printer page. It does say the it is compatible with both 10.9 and 10.10.
    cp1525 dmg file
Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Setup Error says "Contact Adobe Customer Support for Assistance" but that seems impossible. I'm trying to install CS3 on Maverick.  Shall I just give it up as hopeless, and kiss my Adobe software goodbye?

I've gone around and around the Adobe Customer Support website, and it only allows me to post a query in the support group.
I downloaded a dmg of CS3. I have my license number ready.
I try to install it, and I get the error message:
    Setup Error
Setup has encountered an error and cannot continue. Contact Adobe Customer Support for assistance.
But I can't contact them. Adobe support just goes in circles. Now what?
Maybe CS3 doesn't work on OSX Mavericks.  It would help if they would just say so.

some people have had some success, http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
you should run the cleaner and then try and install, Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
if that fails with the same nondescript message, check your install logs, Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC

I purchased a MacBook Air in July, 2013. I have later learnt that Apple has made iWorks free for OSX Mavericks users. However, the App Store still shows the package as paid for me. I want to know a way of downloading it for free.

  • HT201178 With the coming of OSX Mountain Lion, will there be support for a late 2006 iMac  (currently running OSX Lion

With the coming of OSX Mountain Lion, will apple be supporting a late 2006 I mac currently running OSX Lion?

Ahhhh. Well, now you have earned a "Slap Kappy" coupon good for one slap. Expires in 30 days.
The 64-bit kernel thing will leave a lot of use behind. My main machine is a 2006 Mac Pro on which I've spent some money putting in two 4-core CPUs and an ATI 5770 GPU in the past year. If I want to run ML I can't do so. The only options I have for a desktop Mac is either a newer Mac Pro model - post 2007 - used or refurbed or a recent or new iMac. This assumes the Mac Pro line may be dropped. Apple has been very mum on that.
Clearly, Apple wants to get users of older hardware to buy new machines in order to run ML now and in the future. Because it is possible to boot the older models with the 64-bit kernel via some hacking, Apple might have been able to install ML on them by adding some code and retaining 32-bit drivers where needed, but they've chosen not to take that route. I think it's a bit of a marketing ploy to help drive up sales of new Macs, but I appreciate that Apple has chosen to abandon legacy support in the past in order to avoid having an OS like Windows - bloated by support for older and older hardware.

  • Help! Some features of Mac OS X Mavericks are not supported for the disk "Macintosh HD"

I'm on a MacBook 13" mid 2010, OS X 10.7.5, I want to upgrade to OS X Mavericks. I have searched around for a few days, I find people with the same problem but can't really get the solution for it. I prefer not to reinstall OS X, I want to upgrade. I don't have boot camp or something just a 250 GB HD.
Well, while I'm trying to upgrade from the download from Apps Store, I open the installer, press continue then accepts the Terms.. then select Macintosh HD and click install, then an warning message shows up "Some features of Mac OS X Mavericks are not supported for the disk "Macintosh HD"
As I've read the article that is included in the waring message i did try to install anyway because it say that I would be fine, but when i did try to install the installer starts and after like 3 minutes a window appears, Install Failed.
I've even try to make a installer on USB, both with the command in terminal and with Diskmaker, but it does not help.
It seems impossible to upgrade. Please Help me.

First, see the heading "What to do if the installer warns that no Recovery System can be created" in this support article. If you use Boot Camp, back up and delete the Windows partition using Boot Camp Assistant. Try the installation again.

  • Mavericks support for ARD - when will this occur?

WHen being launched, ARD says it is incompatible with Mavericks - will this be fixed, and when?

None of us here know or can say when ARD will be updated for support for Mavericks. I would expect that Apple will have an update available at or shortly after the time Mavericks is released if not before, but we'll have to wait for Apple to make further announcements.

  • Windows and OSX support for Proximity

Is there an install for Windows and OSX support for Proximity.
I have upgraded all of my endpoints to TC7.1.2. (SX, C Series, EX) and Proximity is working great however most of my users bring laptops to meetings not iOS devices.
    Any timeframe ?

@dshumake; nice try ;) (thanks for being forgiving with us)
    @ablaisdell; agree!
@fcosgrove; we are currently starting a limited trial for Win and Mac clients (EFT, part of TC 7.3). The main feature for the laptop client is sharing FROM your laptop to the video endpoint, so you can skip the cable, dongles etc in the room.
We do have plans for supporting call control and content receive to the laptop as well, but that's later.
The first PC & Mac version has target for first half 2015, but is subject to change (as in: not yet committed).

  • Support for HP Colour LaserJet 2600n in Mavericks?

HP support website doesn't mention Mavericks support, but states that in everything up to Mountain Lion the way to install the driver is via Apple Software Update.  When I try to install my printer in Mavericks from the System Preferences, it can see the printer on the network but it says "The software for this printer is currently unavailable" when I try to add it.
Has anybody successfully got this model to work on Mavericks?  On my old Snow Leopard MBP this prints fine over TCP/IP.

I was able to get it to work via CUPS.
    First, I visited:
    http://localhost:631/
This gave me instructions to run the command "cupsctl WebInterface=yes" in the Terminal.  Once I did that, I was able to use the CUPS web browser interface to install the driver.  Once I did that the 2600n showed up normally in the rest of Mac OS X.
    Strange.
