Support for PeopleSoft 8.8 sp1
Does IDM 7.0 adapter support PeopleSoft 8.8 sp1? I have a cusotmer that is upgrading to 8.8 SP1 and we need to know if this is going to effect deployment.
The only "known" issue is Imaging on a 64-Bit Linux Platform, AFAIK.
Other than that, it's just a matter of finishing verifications.

SAP Support for Windows 2008 R2 SP1
How can I find out if SAP supports Windows 2008 R2 SP1?
We have ECC6 enh4 running on Win2008R2 servers, our admin would like to apply SP1 to these. I'm trying to find documentation to verify SAP Supports SP1. So far I've come up empty.
ThanksHello Laurie,
The up to date kernels support Windows 2008R2
SAP supports the following 64-bit (x64, IA64) Windows Server 2008 R2 editions:
Standard edition, Enterprise edition, Datacenter edition, and for Itanium-Based Systems edition
Windows Server 2008 R2 Server Core is not supported by SAP.
See url
SAP on Microsoft Windows
Hope it's work for you,

TIDAL support for PeopleSoft 9.2
Is TES 6.1.0 compliant with PeopleSoft 9.2 ?
Nicolas-
I have seen the previous thread, as it was for 9.1 thought if we have any updated documents for Application 9.2 with the latest tools 8.53, we are planning for the upgrade and want to build the new hardware, Just want to make sure we have good hardware resources in place before starting the upgrade process.
Regards,
DMAC -
Hello,
Am trying to upgrade a SCOM SP1 environment to SCOM R2( 3 MGT servers, 1 GW and 2 Web console boxes )
The prerequisites are failing and it is stating the following ;
Operational Database SQL Version Check - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the operational database
Data Warehouse SQL Version Check - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the data warehouse
The SQL servers are running SQL 2012 SP1 64 Enterprise, which is compatible.
All other pre-upgrade tasks have been done.
Help appreciated!I'm having the exact same issue, I believe. I think that Tubble has problem with SCOM 2012. Not 2007.
I've checked the compatibility list for both SCOM 2012 SP1 and R2. All newer Windows Server and SQL versions are supported. We're running the SQL 2012 SP1 x64 Standard edition on a Windows Server 2012 Standard.
I even tried to move the database from SQL 2012 to an older SQL 2008 R2, but that's not supported either. Only upgrading. Not downgrading.
So, I started checking the opsMgrSetupWizard.log file for clues. And the error message was there as well. But the reason why it says not supported is that it can't get the info about the OS version, so I guess it assumes the OS version is to low. The RPC
service can not be reached.

So, in our case this was just a FW that was blocking some high ports between management server and SQL. I believe TCP port 135 also needs to be open.
Let's hope this fixes your issue as well, Tubble.
Have a great day! -
I received the above error reinstalling SQL Server 2008. I have tried all suggestions. This error also appears when I install any version of SQL Server.

PeopleSoft - Backup and Restore scripts for PeopleSoft implementation using MS-SQL 2012?
I am working for a county government as a consultant for PeopleSoft using SQL Server. When they restore a DEV instance from PROD, they have to manually stop the web server, app server and batch server, then they do the restore. Afterward they have to change
all references to PROD in the cloned DEV instance. Everything is done manually and takes a couple of hours.
Can anyone point me to scripts for PeopleSoft restores that automate bringing down/up the web, app and batch servers and all the other tasks so they don't have to be done manually?
Life is hard, but it's harder when you're stupid! John 'Duke' WayneThis question should be posted on PeopleSoft support forum. That being said, a quick search on the internet will provide helpful links like below: http://www.erpassociates.com/peoplesoft-corner-wiki/peoplesoft-administration/cloning-a-peoplesoft-database.html

Hi,
Problem to generat an report on an SSRS for SCCM 2012 R2 SP1. I got error has occurred during report processing.
In general it is no problem to generat SSRS reports, but an custom one i get issue with.
The Error:
An
error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Query
execution failed for dataset 'DataSet1'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)
ExecuteReader:
CommandText property has not been initializedHi SaiTech,
According to your description, when you render report on SCCM 2012 R2, you got the error message.
According to my knowledge, the issue can be caused by following reasons:
Select permission not granted to ConfigMgr reporting account. We need to open the SQL management console and open the properties dialog box of configmgr db, grant select and execute permission to ConfigMgr reporting account.
Reporting Services Web Service URL or Report Manager is false. Make sure Web Service URL and Report Manager URL are correct. Restart SMS_Executive service and reinstall Reporting Service Point, then please render the report again.
Report timeout. Increase query and report timeout.
If the problem remain unresolved, please provide detailed information of SRSRP.log (default location: %programfiles%\Microsoft and Configuration Manager\Logs) and reporting services error log(default location: %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\<SQL
Server Instance>\Reporting Services\LogFiles), it will help us move more quickly toward a solution.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Dell Equallogic SAN HIT Kit support for SAP in Linux 11.2
Hello Everyone,
I would like to use an Equallogic SAN as storage in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11.2. Is the Equallogic SAN supported in Linux when using the HIT Kit to provide MPIO and snapshot support? The article from thorsten.staerk describes Equallogic SAN + Linux + native iSCSI (no mention of the HIT Kit). I understand that there are restrictions on using third party kernel modules.
My understanding is that the Equallogic MPIO driver will provide a faster, more efficient, connection to the SAN along with additional features.

From the documentation "Installs a compatible prebuilt kernel module, if available. Otherwise, the installation script loads the Dynamic Kernel Module Support (DKMS) package and compiles the Dell EqualLogic-supplied kernel module."
EqualLogic Integration: Installation and Configuration of Host Integration Tools for Linux – HIT/Linux
The Dell EqualLogic HIT/Linux MPIO software consists of two components:
1. The EqualLogic Host Connection Manager daemon, ehcmd, which monitors the iSCSI session state and the configuration of the Linux server and PS Series group. Running in the background, the ehcmd daemon uses the Open-iSCSI management tool (iscsiadm) to add, remove, or modify iSCSI sessions to maintain an optimal number of iSCSI sessions. It also gathers information on the volume layout from the PS Series group.
2. A loadable kernel module, dm-switch, which implements a new Device Mapper target to the multipath devices. Based on the volume layout on the array members, the dm-switch module routes each I/O to the optimal path within the PS Series group.
SAP Note 784391 - SAP support terms and 3rd-party Linux
kernel drivers
The use of binary-only Linux kernel modules or drivers on the same server as SAP software is not recommended by SAP.
Thank You,
KevinI'll take a moment to provide an update on the solution. There were some issues with the initial configuration of the in guest iSCSI volumes. If I had to start from scratch, I would run all the storage through VMware. The last round of software updates appears to have resolved a potentially serious issue with iSCSI disconnects. iSCSI has run perfectly for two months now. I'll consider the issue resolved once I have six months without any iSCSI issues.
One remaining issue is that LVM won't initialize properly without implementing a custom init script. The init script work-around is simple and it works.

I’m trying to assess the browser situation with respect to Microsoft.
I need to provide input to my management about the browsers to be supported in future.
Came across some information on MS site which I’m pasting below.
What I’m trying to understand is that from Jan-12, 2016, will Internet Explorer 9 & 10 not be supported on Windows 7?
Pasted below is an extract from site:
“Beginning January 12, 2016, only the most current version of Internet Explorer available for a supported operating system will receive technical support and security updates.”
And the oldest they’ll support for Windows Desktop OS is IE9 on Vista SP2; for Windows 7 SP1 it’ll be IE11.
Their guideline:
Windows Platform
Internet Explorer Version
Windows Vista SP2
Internet Explorer 9
Windows Server 2008 SP2
Internet Explorer 9
Windows 7 SP1
Internet Explorer 11
Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
Internet Explorer 11
Windows 8.1
Internet Explorer 11
Windows Server 2012
Internet Explorer 10
Windows Server 2012 R2
Internet Explorer 11What I’m trying to understand is that from Jan-12, 2016, will Internet Explorer 9 & 10 not be supported on Windows 7?
Pasted below is an extract from site:
“Beginning January 12, 2016, only the most current version of Internet Explorer available for a supported operating system will receive technical support and security updates.”
Correct!
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2014/08/07/stay-up-to-date-with-internet-explorer.aspx
(in the blog article, directly below the table which you've sampled, is a paragraph which exactly answers your question)
After January 12, 2016, only the most recent version of Internet Explorer available for a supported operating system will receive technical support and security updates.
For example, customers using Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9, or Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7 SP1 should migrate to Internet Explorer 11 to continue receiving security updates and technical support. For more details regarding
support timelines on Windows and Windows Embedded, see the Microsoft Support Lifecycle site.

Support for document and documentwrapped web services
List,
Are "document" and "documentwrapped" style web services supported in WSL 8.1 SP1?
The
documentation referenced below [1] [2] indicates that these styles are supported,
but in the
Unsupported Features section of the Web Services overview [3] states the RPC literal
style and
Document encoded style are not supported. It is my understanding that the style
attribute
values of the servicegen ant task map to the SOAP encodings as follows:
RPC -> SOAP RPC
documentwrapped -> SOAP RPC-literal
document -> SOAP document-literal
Is this correct?

[3] http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webserv/overview.html#1074641So is it a true statement that if I use the documentwrapped style, I don't have
the restriction
of having only one void method while gaining the scalability and performance benefits
[1] of
SOAP document-literal encoding? Does the documentwrapped style have any restrictions
regarding out and in-out parameters? If so, what is the correct way in Java to
specify a
parameter as "IN" only?
Thanks again,

So in the style, you can only have one void

not enforce this. Which I think is a bug.

How do the restrictions apply to methods that do not have any paramters?

What am I missing? BTW - I am using Weblogic Server 8.1 SP1.
Also, how does the weblogic documentwrapped style map to the SOAP encodings
SOAP RPC, SOAP RPC-literal, and SOAP document-literal? Are the messages encoded
SOAP doc/lit, but the programming model allows for multiple parameters? Is
the documentwrapped style specific to weblogic webservices?
And finally, given Java is a pass by value language, do I need to
do
anything
special to the webservice method signatures to specify the parameters
as
"IN"
parameters?
Thanks for all the help. From looking at the list traffic, your

Hi Kent,
There are restrictions on the doc/lit style of encoding, such as
the
methods that implement each operation of the Web Service can have only
one parameter and the methods that implement each operation cannot use
out and in-out parameters. The documentwrapped generates a resulting
Web Service operations that can take any number of parameters, although
the parameter values will be wrapped into one complex data type in the
SOAP messages. Manoj has an example of documentwrapped [1].
We do not support rpc/lit. You might want to review this note by Yasser

Support for Shared Variables in Third Party XP embedded based TPC's?
I have deployed an application in an XP embedded based Touch Panel (Third party). The application is working fine, but the shared variables hosted on an RT (sbRIO Board) are not getting updated in the application on TPC
1. The TPC is part of the project as Windows XP Embedded Touch Panel
2. NI TPC Service has been installed on the TPC and the application can be deployed remotely from the development PC through ethernet. (Hence network connections and communications are OK)
3. By using Distributed Systems Manager in the development computer, I can see that the shared variables are getting updated on the network
I believe that the problem can be solved if the following programs are installed on the TPC
A. Support for shared variables for XPembedded
B. Shared Variable engine
I have tried installing support for shared variables from Program Files > National Instruments > Labview 8.6 > PDA > Utilities > Variables > x86 - but am getting an installation error "Unable to find application manager for Pocket PC applications".
Shared variable engine has been installed from ve220 folder. The program is getting installed. But the Variable Engine is not started Control Panel > Administrative tools > Services in Xpe, the service is stopped and cannot be started. When I try to start the service, I am getting the following error on TPC
"Could not start the National Instruments Variable Engine Service on the local computer.
Error 1053. The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."
Please suggest solutions for the above or alternate locations for the following:
1. Support for shared variables for XP embedded TPC's
2. Shared Variable engine installer program.
Thanks

Go to Solution.Problem solved!
Update for interested folks working on XP Embedded TPC's
Just to make sure that Shared Variables were indeed accessible to the TPC, I wanted to install Distributed Systems Manager 8.6 on the TPC. However since the TPC was having only 1 GB of DOM (Disk on Memory) and with all the software I had tried, there were only a few Megabytes left on the system. I had to add another DOM of 2 GB.
All the products of the Installation went fine, with the exception of NI Logos (Version 5.0). NI Logos installation failed repeatedly. I tried installing NI Logos separately, with the same results. Then I had this gut feeling that NI Logos had something to do with the issue.
I then downloaded the new version of NI DSM 2009 SP1. Although this was supposed to get installed on any fresh system without Labview, the installation would not proceed beyond the setup stage. I tried installing NI Logos from the products folder on the new download separately and it worked like magic!
Once the new Logos (Ver 5.5) got installed, the Shared Variable Engine started automatically and the Shared Variables were finally unleashed - free to rise and shine! Thank God Almighty!!
On the lighter side, come to think of it - for running an application of around 400KB, we need XP embedded, NI Run Time, Logos, DSM .......... (all around 900MB). Can we make it any simpler?!! Inviting your comments .......
Thanks
