Support for Short Messaging Service (SMS)

Hi all,
Currently Beehive will only support sending SMS via the SMPP protocol, is there any other protocols available or planned in future releases?
I know sms if a faiding tech, but it's still the thing to notify mobile devices.
I tried creating a Clickatell account as recommended, but those test accounts are no good for SMPP which relies on a minimum volume of 5000 sms! not good for small/medium size users.
Regards,
david

Current release supports SMPP and XMS. More information is available in the Admin Guide
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E16671_01/bh.200/e16648/subscriptionsnotifications.htm#CHDJFJGI
Clickatell does support XMS.
We are working to replace our support for XMS with support for our SMS partners HTTP based APIs.

You will need a SMTP to SMS gateway to be able to use SMS with Siebel.
    Have a look at:

  • How to send short message services(SMS) from PC desktop to Mobile  with the

sir, i want to know " how we can send the free SMS from PC desktop to Mobiles? this is my project part of final year project and till now i m in confusion. what r the various tools and technologies will be in used for implementing the SMS system. In fact, i m a new user of wireless java. so, pls give ur valuable hands for this topic.

First of all PC as a "stand-alone" machine does not have ablity to send SMS since there is no necessary hardware in it. You can achive this in two ways: first, connect your mobile (method depends on model) to PC and use it to send SMS. Ofcourse it won't be for free - mobile owner will have to pay for it. Second way involves using so called "SMS gateway" provided by GSM suppliers via internet. Most of them, at least in Poland, are well protected against using by machines.
This is all I know about it. Hope it helped in some way

  • How to send SMS ( Short Message Service ) from java code

    Hi
How to send SMS ( Short Message Service ) from java code.
    Thanks
    Gaurav

Do you need to receive SMS? If you need to receive SMS, you will need to host your own GSM device or modem so that people can send you SMS.
If not, you can just use internet SMS gateways like clickatell as mentioned above will do the work, and post to them by HTTP, XML or email. The cost is about 6-8 cents per SMS. There are cheaper services, but not always reliable. If you need to host your own GSM device, you can use software like http://www.kannel.org (GPL Open Source) or http://www.visualgsm.com. Alternatively, you may obtain a shortcode from your Telco - but these come with monthly subscription of maybe one or two hundreds.

  • Conversation View for short messages?

I'm using Nokia features phones for a little time now, and something that I always felt like missing was a “conversation view” for short messages, instead (or aside) of the antique Received/Sent model.
Today, I watched the promotionnal video for the Nokia 301.
And it seems that there's finally a proper way to display discussions!
    That's really interesting!
    Now I'm wondering:
Is this really the new SMS interface from the S40/NokiaOS system, or a specific application for chatting or for Facebook or something else?
I'm currently using a Nokia 2700 “Classic”, using version 07.80 (18-08-09). Is there a way to update my system to the version with this new conversation view?
Starting which version of the OS is this view implemented?
If the 2700 is not compatible with this, is there any third-parties (.jar or something) applications for managing (safely) my SMS in a similar way?
I plan to update to the C2-01 or the 301 one day, but not right now. For the first one, is this interface also available?
    Thank you for your answers,
And I'm glad that's the only thing that was wrong with this OS seems to be fixed!
    Have a nice day,
    ~ nicolas

Like on most other modern phones (including iPhones, Androids and Windows Phones) the conversation view is now the standard messaging view and cannot be changed. The old way of sorting messages in sent and received folders is pretty much a thing of the past.
All you can really do is get used to it or find a basic phone that still uses the old sorting method. If you are upset about this I suggest you blame Apple as it was them that pretty much forced it to become industry standard.

  • Multi-language support for ABSL messages

Is there some best practice or feature for multi-language support of ABSL messages (as it exists for the UI since 3.5). Currently we are maintaining messages in several languages (one message entry in the BO per language) and depending on the current user language we raise the respective message. However, with an increasing number of supported languages this becomes quite tedious.
    - Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
unfortunately there is no other way than the one you described. One thing that may make your life abit easier: In a business object you can refer to messages from another business object. This means you can create one business object "messages" that holds all messages so that you have all messages in one .bo file and not spread across all your BOs. The translation process is easier, if you have all your messages in one file.
    Best regards,
    Thomas

  • Watch for " premium messaging service "

I thought Verizon is serious company and would not allowed such companies like " premium messaging service "  to fraud their customers . They charged me $60 for four months
After having a 5 hours phone conversation with Verizon‘s customer service and fraud department they agree that this service was a scam / fraud from a third party company and they gave me back the credit for April, march and February and also they blocked the so called premium messaging service . they did not gave me the credit for the fourth month for which I am still waiting

I have been a strong proponent that it is the subscribers actions that cause these issues. I believe most are due to user mistakes. However, There are articles coming out that a company named Jawa would send out a message with a comment to opt out, to reply STOP. That actually opted one in.
VZW has sued them after three years of this occurring. The defendents answer to the lawsuit states VZW and ATT allowed them to do this as they made 30% off of these premium messages.
I think this will grow into a larger issue.

To do this with JDeveloper you need a SMS gateway that provides a Java API for their SMS services. Then you should be able to easily integrate that API with your JDeveloper/ADF project.

  • Support for Creating Web Service from pl/sql package in JDeveloper 11

We have been creating all of our web services from pl/sql packages in our Oracle database using JDeveloper 10.1.3.1. I understand that this capability is not supported in Jdev 11. We have been mandated to either move up to JDeveloper 11, or consider switching to eclipse, or even VS2008 and run .NET services from IIS. I have seen work-around solutions using TopLink and Jdev 11. Are there plans to revive this feature in the near future? We're now looking at switching to .NET since we could scrap our OAS instances and use IIS to publish web services. The only reason we were sticking with Oracle was the ease in converting all our existing package to web services with Jdev.
Is anyone else in the same situation. If so, what solutions are you considering?

    Hi,
there are a lot of option to make plsql web services .
First you can stay with jdev 10.1.3
    Use the xmldb servlets
use jdev 11g tp4 to create plsql ws and upgrade to jdev 11g production
And I think in the next release of jdev it will be back , there are more options which disappeared like the adf bc sdo ws or jmx datacontrol etc.
    thanks Edwin

  • HTTP Probe support for ISE guest service

    Hi all,
I am currently trying out the guest feature of the ISE and I noticed that clients won't get probed via HTTP when accessing the guest portal and I am curious why? The WLC is currently running version 7.0.116.0 and thus is only able to support Local Web Authentication.
I configured the Layer 3 authentication of the SSID to use External Web Authentication with the link https://ISE:8443/guestportal/Login.action where ISE is the domain name of the appliance. I also ensured to use the MAC address as the Calling-Station-ID.
I successfully get to the portal, but when I check on the endpoint afterwards, no user agent is recorded.
Is there any way to instruct the ISE to fetch this information via local web auth?
    Thanks in advance!
