Support for SONiC SAP Office Notification Connector

Hi there,
we may be looking to implement SAP Office Notification Connector
(SONiC) to our portal system (NW7 ehp 1).
I can see that the connector is valid for NW 2004s, so should be
supported for our version of the portal?
Also wondered if this is a fully SAP-supported connector and if there
are any other support implications eg conditions on versions of portal,
business packages, backend systems etc?
Many thanks for your help

Hi Nicholas,
The official stance on the SoNiC connector is located in note number: 945484.  Please have a look because support is not valid on the release you are using.  The note specifically states the following:
This connector is not supported by SAP for the mentioned releases in the
note validity. (Note validity shows the following: Not supported for:
UWLJWF 700, 701, 710, 711)
"There is no support if any problems or side effects
appear from this connector. Usage of the connector is only on your own
risk in unsupported releases.
The connector is part of the standard delivered software and it is
supported by SAP in upper releases."
So in other words, versions lower than 702 and 720 do not contain the connector, and the customer can implement this at their own risk, but it really shouldn't be used for productive use.  In the newer versions this connector comes as standard implementation with the UWL.  I hope that this is helpful to you.

  • Regarding SAP Office Notification Connector

    Dear all
We are on EP 7.0 SP12. We want to bring the SAP office mails to UWL.  Earlier we had deployed SONiC in our EP 6.0 and is working fine.
I this [Link to SONiC download|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/8525afd0-0d01-0010-aaa0-ac6b9e3a2907] the supported releases for EP 7.0 is given as SPS07
Can I deploy the same for SP12? Otherwise when will the connector for latest SP's will be released?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Aparnna

If its anything like with EP6 then the SONIC part CAN be a different version to the UWL deliverables since its a different depoy file anyway.
Since the SONIC connector is not officially supported (as far as I know) it is unlikely to be up to date SP for SP.  I would guess that this implies you should be using at least EP7.0 SP7.

  • Continued support for Oracle Open Office?

Following the announcement by Oracle that Oracle Open Office won't be on offer anymore
    http://www.h-online.com/open/news/item/Oracle-OpenOffice-org-to-become-a-Community-based-Project-Update-1228831.html
users like me who come from StarOffice 9 and are now using Oracle OO are highly interested to know for how long Oracle is going to offer support (patches and updates) for Oracle Open Office 3.3.1.
Are there any news on that point?

    Monday, April 18, 2011
I am not worried at this point because the service contracts remain in place. Since the latest update for StarOffice 7 was the middle of March (these may or may not be the patches announced at the end of last week by Oracle), I expect OOO patches to appear for a while.
At this point in time the only thing that I certain of is that the commercial milestones which have only existed since OOO 3.3 will end. This is a return to the state of affairs with StarOffice 9 which did not have a separate milestone from the OOo milestones.

  • Generic Sync. support for non-SAP backend

    Hi
Does Generic synchronization allows mobile applications to call function module residing in any non-SAP backend.I am not sure about this.
The documentation for MDK says we have to use Business Connector for this.
Where can i find the Business Connector for this purpose.
Which non-SAP backends are supported by Generic Sync framework.

  • MI Support for Non SAP Backend

    hi all,
Theoritically,it is said, MI will support NON-SAP Backends.
But in our <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/cc489997-0901-0010-b3a3-c27a7208e20a#q-5-9">FAQs</a> i find the following,
<i>Can I use SAP Exchange Infrastructure for integrating MI with with non-SAP backends?
No, this is currently not supported (see release restriction note 717510).</i>
<b>If we are using SAP Business Connector, can we integrate non-sap Backend?</b>
So, As a consultant, what should our stand be if a client asks if we can integrate Non-SAP backends with MI 2.5?
    Regards
    Ak.

    Hi Arunkumar,
Sorry, I cant make a closed statement that SAP does not support integration of MI with non SAP backend systems. The reason is this is a restriction because of some failed tests & also another reason is we are currently working on taking this restriction out.
So we will surely get back to u with a positive response very soon.

  • Considering buying a Mac Mini but I need to know about support for dual monitors using DVI connectors.

I have a couple of DVI monitors and I'm looking to replace my Windows desktop with a Mac Mini.  I found an article that says it supports dual monitors with Thunderbolt, but I can't find any discussion of using it with existing monitor, or running multiple DVI displays off a single Thunderbolt port.
Has anyone done this?  If so, what's the best way to achieve it?

Yes, the Mac Mini has both an HDMI and Thunderbolt/MiniDisplay Port and supports dual displays in either Mirroring or Extended Desktop Mode.
It ships with an HDMI to DVI adapter that you can use for one DVI Display.
For the second DVI display you will need to buy a > Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter and plug that into the Thunderbolt/MiniDisplay Port.
see the spec's > Mac mini - Buy Mac mini Desktop Computers

  • NAC Support for Trend Micro Office Scan 10

    Hi Guys,
Does any one know when will Trend Micro Office Scan 10 be supported on NAC?
    Regards,
    Adrian

    Adrian,
If you are running the 4.8.0 NAC Agent we should be releasing a new compliance module within the next week or so.  I am not sure what AV software will be added but there is a good chance this will in in that compliance module update.

  • SAP office messages can't be opened in UWL

    Hi,
I have installed and tested SONIC (SAP Office Notification Connector). I have a SAP_ALL profile. When I receive a SAP office message, I can either open it in the SBWP or in the UWL notification tab (all my messages show up and I can display its content).
I have created other users with no SAP_ALL profile. These users have the right to access to the SBWP and see their messages. When they log on the portal, they are able to see the list of messages, but when they click on display to see their content, the message is empty. I think I am facing an authorization issue, but I have no idea what are the necessary authorization objects I should add to my users' profile.
Any help would more than much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thibault

Did you look what SU53 say? Did you do an authorisation trance with ST01? That will tell you the details if you are facing an authorisation issue.

  • OIM - SAP Employee Recon and SAP User Management Connectors vs. OC4J

In reading through the SAP connector documentation I've found that we cannot use OC4J to run OIM if the 9.0.3 SAP User Management Connector or SAP Employee Recon Connector is used. This is all related to a conflict in JDK versions supported between the SAP JCo (Java Connector) library and OC4J. A thought we've had is to use a Remote Manager for these connectors. Can anyone validate this approach? Is it possible to use a different JDK version with your remote manager? Is there another workaround that anyone is aware of?
    Thanks

    Hi,
The remote manager should work with different JDKs. We are going to be doing the same thing for one of our adapters.
As for SAP, I cannot think of another workaround -- we actually abandoned the SAP JCo approach and are doing web services with XI.
    Thanks,

  • SAP  office mail on EP7?

Hi everyone. Is there an iView on EP7 that can display SAP office mails? Or is this already integrated into UWL? Generous points will be awarded! Thanks!

You need to develop an UWL connector for integrating SAP Office Mail.
    Check this How-to document http://help.sap.com/javadocs/NW04S/SPS09/uw/UWL_API_SAPOfficeMailExample.pdf

What are the Non SAP data sources supported for Analysis workbooks?
    Thanks.

HANA is a data source (which could contain non-SAP data)
For other Excel front-ends that may connect to "non-SAP" data look at Live Office or Power BI by Microsoft - see Excel and Power BI connectivity to SAP BusinessObjects Universes | Power BI

  • SAP CRM Groupware Connector for Exchange on 64 Bit platform

    Hi All,
We have successfully installed SAP CRM 5.0 on Windows 2003 x64 Server R2 SP2.
OS, Database and SAP Kernel are all 64 Bit enabled.
Now we are trying to install SAP CRM Groupware Connector on the same server.
But we encounter problems with SAP Groupware Connector 2.1 for MS Exchange installer (setup.exe), which stops with the following error:
    Required Software missing:
    - MS SOAP Toolkit
    Installation cannot be continued !
But SOAP Toolkit 3.0 definitely is installed.
Obviously the Groupware Connector is still 32 Bit.
It is the only available download in SAP Marketplace i could find.
The CD is located in the same area where the CRM installation CDs can be downloaded.
SAP does not differ between 32 Bit and 64 Bit versions.
I'm wondering if it is possible, to run a 32 Bit Groupware Connector in a 64 Bit environment.
Does anybody have experience with such a configuration ?
Or is there a 64 Bit enabled version available for download ? Where can i find this version ?
    Thank you in advance.

I got an answer from SAP Support:
SAP still recommends to use 32-bit system OS in order to avoid any future confusions.
So we have to install another 32 Bit Server only for the Groupware Connector.
    Thx for your interest.

  • Live Office support for Microsoft 2010

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum- not sure where i would ask this.
My customers are starting to use office 2010 and are having problems with office 2010.
Does anyone have an idea of when office 2010 will be supported?
    Thank you,
    Dave

    Please check note 1446026 http://service.sap.com/notes.
XI 3.1 will probably provide support for MS Office 2010 starting from SP4 (This is NOT XI 4.0)
