Support in LabVIEW 2009 for IMAQ legacy drivers on 64-bit windows

Hi,
I have been trying to use a VI that was created in LabVIEW 7.0 that makes use of IMAQ 1394 VI's in LabVIEW 2009.   When I first tried to run the VI an error told me that the VI's in question were missing, to overcome this problem I thought I should attempt to replace them with legacy VI'.  After downloading the legacy installer, I then realised that these VI's would not function on a 64-bit version of windows even though I have a 32-bit version of LabVIEW.
I was wondering if there is an alternative way of replacing these VI's or a way of implementing the lagacy VI's?  Would it be suitable to replace the IMAQ 1394 VI's with IMAQdx VI's?
Thanks for your time,
Alistair Martin

Hi Alistair,
The following KB states that it should be possible to do what you require: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/3358528DF8648DC2862571F500586140?OpenDocument
The KB also links to some development articles for upgrading and using IMAQdx to acquire from 1394 cameras.
I hope this helps,
Kind Regards,

  • LabVIEW 2009 SP1 Run-Time Engine (Minimum) (32-bit) for Windows - Supported Features

    Hi,
Can some one please point out what features are supported by the LV RTE (Minimum ) [LabVIEW 2009 SP1 Run-Time Engine (Minimum) (32-bit) for Windows]
    1) Is there a limit on the size of the exe which can be run on it?
    2) Will this support additional modules like DAQ etc.,? Or do we have to chose the regular installer ( 170 Mb ) for that purpose?
    3) If a list of what it does or does not support is available, it would be extremely helpful.
    Thanks In advance.
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Anand,
I did go through both the links that you had sent earlier before posting on the forum. For eaxample refer the following link where it says,
    http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/lang/en/id/1599
It does not contain the full run-time engine, but will allow some executables to run.
    1) What do they mean by 'some' executables. Is there a list of yay's and no's available?
    2) Can someone from NI reply to this and shed more knowledge?
    Regards,
    Vijay

  • I am looking for IMAQ DT3152 Drivers

I found them at Imagemill or Alliance vision...but I am a student at The University of Texas and $600 is all too expensive. Please help, I would like to use LV but if I can't find a cheap driver, I may have to switch.

I believe the DT3152 driver is for a Data Translation image acquisition board. If so, then ImageMill, Alliance Vision, and Graftek are your best sources for NI IMAQ-type LabVIEW drivers. Data Translation themselves may provide a driver for LabVIEW, but I haven't heard of one.
Often times customers will use the software that comes with their third party image acquisition boards to acquire an image and save it to disk, and then open the image up in LabVIEW using the IMAQ Vision toolkit. Unforunately, if you're trying to automate an inspection, this can be difficult. The easiest solution would be to use a National Instruments image acquisition board, which comes with the NI-IMAQ software that works very well with LabVIEW and our IMAQ Vision toolkit. It's g
oing to be a little more expensive than the third party drivers from Graftek or ImageMill, but it will be well supported by NI and work well with our other software and hardware tools.
If you can provide a few more details about exactly what hardware you have and what you'd like to accomplish, then I should be able to recommend software and hardware tools.
    Good Luck!

  • Can i build an application with Labview 2009 for Windows 7?

    Hello
i use Labview 2009 SP1 and the application builder 2009 SP1. If i install the application on win7 this message is display:
Labview Run Time Engine depends on pruduct with upgrade code (...) version 9.0.301, language {} which is not in distribution.

Is this an issue with Windows 7 having both installation folders for 32 bit (C:\Program Files (x86)) and 64 bit (C:\Program Files)?
I had an application built on an XP machine and installed on a Windows 7 machine which was looking for files in C:\Program Files when they were actually installed in C:\Program Files (x86) - because it was 32-bit application.  After installation I had to move the files from 1 location to the other to make it work.

  • LabView 2009 (64bit) IMAQ GetScreenSize???

    Hi,
Did anybody try to use the GetScreenSize vi in LabView 2009 64bit yet??
It is not runable any more?? Do we have any replacements??
    Thanks

    Hi,
IMAQ GetScreenSize is obsolete. Refer to KB: Compatibility Library when Upgrading from Older Versions of Vision Development Module.
Instead of this function you can use Display.Primary Workspace or Display. All Monitors property node.

    Hi,
First, please ensure you are using the following installer, with the sam filename and size:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=al-75052-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&...
From the start menu click %temp% into the search bar and open the listed temp folder.
Select all the files within this folder and delete them, then emprty the recycle bin (those are all temporary files, it is safe to delete them).
If some files cannot be deletes skip those files.. as soon as there are no remaining folders but there are several files remining you are fine.
Next try running the installation file again and check for any change.
If the same persists, open the same %temp% folder, then open the HP installation folder which starts with 7z.
Open the Util folder and then the CCC folder.
Run the Uninstall_L4.bat file. if nothin appear than a CMD dialog after few sewconds click on enter and follow the uninstallation by confirming any of those.. as the uninstallation completes reboot your PC as required and try installing the software again.
If the same still happens, try following this tool and check if that may help,

If the issue remain run Windows Update and ensure you are fully up tp date and there are no updates available, then check for any difference.

  • Where is the photo library for itunes 11 on a 64-bit windows 7 computer?

I am trying to find the photo library in itunes 11 but it doesnt show up - only TV shows, movies, music, etc.  I go to Edit --> Preferences --> General tab and under sources there is no photo option - where did it go?

There is no Photo Library in iTunes and there never has been.
When you connect your iPod to your iTunes Library, select the iPod icon on the top right of the window (don't eject it):
    and then ...
and next, choose the folder that you want to use to Sync with your iPod...
... which in my case is named "Touch Pictures".

  • Crash deploying library after uninstalling LabVIEW 2009

I have been running LabVIEW 8.6 with the DSC module. Recently I briefly installed LabVIEW 2009 for evaluation, then uninstalled it. Now version 8.6 crashes every time I deploy a library. I have tried repairing, uninstalling and re-installing 8.6 with no success. The crash message says the problem is in msvcr71.dll. There are many copies of various versions of msvcr*.dll all over my computer and I am not sure where the problem lies. Can anyone help?

    Hi Richard,
Can you please upload a screenshot of the exact error message? I would advise emailing or calling in at National Instruments through this link.

  • DLL causes error when quiting LabVIEW 2009 on WIN7

    Hello,
I have reduced the problem in my EXE application to the following attached code (see attachment). Somehow the DLL (To User32.dll) calls are creating a problem when quiting Labview 2009. The Application stays resident in the Windows taskbar and after a while an error appears about that there was a problem closing the application and that it can be reported to Microsoft if desired. Then a second error message appears before the application dissapears from the taskbar. If I remove the DLL:calls from the code then the problems dissapear.
Should I unload the DLL calls on a special manner before quiting LabVIEW?

Another potential problem not mentioned in that article is that you have included your user32.dll explicitedly in your built application. Doing that creates 200% for sure trouble as the kernel32.dll, user32.dll and others are always residently loaded into memory anyhow and mapped into the system memory section of any process. If you tell an application to load this DLL again by explicit name, you end up having two copies of it mapped in your process memory space and that will cause very weird problems.
To avoid this problem make sure the library name inside the Call Library Node only specifies the DLL name without any path information. Then close the dialog and save it. If you reopen the dialog it will show the full path but still save the name only until you make a modification in the path control at which time you can end up having a full path again.

  • Need a 32-bit windows home server driver for a cp2025 printer

I have a Windows Home Server 2011, and multiple Windows XP workstations. I need an XP driver for a CP2025DN printer that I can load onto the WHS 2011, as I want to configure the WHS as a Print Server. The WHS does not recognize (like) the HP Universal drivers, and I do not want to use the Express install download packages. All I need is a driver, like we used to be able to download.
    Anyone have any suggestions/hints?

  • Newport Conex-CC drivers for LabVIEW 2009

    Dear all;
I am using LabVIEW 2009 on Windows 7. I need the drivers for the Newport Conex-CC controller. They are available in the web site http://www.newport.com/CONEX-CC-DC-Servo-Controller-Actuators/934114/1033/info.aspx#tab_Literature , but the version is LabVIEW 2010, so I can`t open them.
Please, could anybody open the .vi's, save them as LabVIEW 2009 or older, and attach them to a reply message?
    Thank you.

Please post the VIs to the Version Conversion board. The link is at the top of the LabVIEW board.

  • Installing 64 bit version of toolkit and modules for Labview 2009 64 bit?

Hello  I recently contacted NIabout installing Mathscript and Signal processing toolkits for my Labview 200964 bit that I am running on Windows 7.  I was sent the following link as aresponse: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/10383.  From this link it is my understanding that I cannot run any programs thatcontain an astrestik, since they only work for 32 bit version of Labview? In particular I really need to use Mathscript.  Is there any workarounds? Do I have to also install the Labview 2009 32 bit version?  Doesanyone know when Labview will allow me to run everything in the 64 bit versionof Labview?  Thanks.
    Kevin

    Hello Kevin,
There is no workaround available, and there are no released dates as to if/when Windows 7 x64 support for the toolkits in question will be introduced.
The LabVIEW Mathscript RT Module is not supported in LabVIEW 64-bit as mentioned at the bottom of the following page: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361F-01/lvhowto/labview_mathscript/ .

  • Xantrex HPD driver for LabVIEW 2009

I've seen there are other NI products that have drivers for the Xantrex HPD power supplies.
Does anyone have one that works for LabVIEW 2009 (or earlier)?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    OK.  Got it.
    Hyperterminal worked.
It verified that port settings and command syntax was correct.
ALL the programs in the LabVIEW examples don't get the CR function to the power supply.  When I hard coded the CR function following the command (also hard coded) it worked.  Xantrex (now Sorensen) manuals include NO simple examples - one just has to know from experience (catch 22) how to do it.
Of note also is that one must send a both voltage and current setting commands as both are zero by default.  (If you send only one, nothing APPEARS to happen because the other is set to 0.)  That also could have been included in a beginning example.
    <end of rant>
    THANKS for your help!

  • Does LabVIEW 2009 support multiple monitors?

Does LabVIEW 2009 support the use of multiple monitors for development? Screen real estate use in LabVIEW is difficult. It would help if the developer could use more than one monitor.
In LabVIEW 2009 can you pin certain items to appear or pop up only on a specific monitor?
Can you have Front panels only show up on one monitor and Block Diagrams on another monitor?
    How is this done?

Not exactly like this, but LabVIEW VIs remember thier last location when saved and will come up at that positiont, unless that is entirely out of the current desktop in which case they will default back to the primary monitor.
Also VI server supports multiple monitors too by giving you back a list of monitor rectangles so you could do a little utility that runs in the background to do what you want. Most likely you will not like such a deamon that pulls your diagrams and panels around as you move them on your screen, but you can try it out.
