Support needed for my Satellite U840W-107

Hi guys!
Since it is impossible to contact Toshiba Bulgaria in any possible way I am forced to use this forum. Can someone tell me how to solve an issue with the Intel Management Engine Interface 9.5.24.1790? Upon starting the computer I am prompted by the TEMPRO to download a new driver, I unzip the package, I execute the file but I get a "Can not find support device" message all the time.
Any ideas how to contact Toshiba or how to solve this issue would be appreciated!

According notebook specification your machine was delivered with preinstalled Win7. With other words your machine is preinstalled with recovery image. This recovery image is software package that contains all necessary drivers, tools and utilities. All hardware components are properly installed and configured so, generally speaking, there is no need for some updates.
Tempro is tool that informs you about updates but you must NOT install them, especially if system runs well and stabile.
I have 5 years old machine and still use original drivers and BIOS version as well.
I don't have this notebook model and cannot check this but believe me here is no reason for panic.
This is definitely not some important issue. Just ignore this message and continue to use your machine.
Important thing for you is to create recovery media (USB or DVD). More about that you can read in users manuals document.

  • Windows XP LAN driver needed for my Satellite A100-784

    I bought Satellite A100-784 with Windows Vista. I've removed Vista and installed Windows XP (taken from other non-Toshiba notebook)) and then SP2. Now I can't use the internet because there's no LAN driver. The drivers downloaded from this Toshiba site don't work.
    Any solution for me? I expect other problems to appear soon, with the sound and so on. Isn't there any pack of drivers for this model with WinXP?
    (I'd be very happy to get a quick restore disk with Windows XP in English but customer support won't provide any.)

    Your A100 unit belongs to the PSAANE series.
    Toshiba European website provides two different XP Intel Lan driver versions:
    1. Intel LAN driver 8.0.43.0
    2. Intel LAN driver 9.2.24
    The first one 8.0.43.0 was designed for LAN Pro100 and the other 9.2.24 for LAN Pro1000
    Additionally I would recommend following the guidelines described in the installation instruction! The drivers must be installed in the right order.

    There is no listed my notebook. My notebook's model is A100-912.

    All I know is that Toshiba will support all vista capable notebooks but as you know it will not happen in one or two days. You must imagine that Toshiba bring sometimes more than 20 different notebooks models every quarter and Vista support is pretty big deal at the moment.
    I am pretty sure Toshiba will support newest and latest model at first and offer more end more stuff for other vista capable units.
    As I can see you have A100. Friend of mine has bought A100 last week and immediately made participation on Vista upgrade program and very soon he will get Vista upgrade and separate Toshiba CD with all necessary Toshiba stuff.
    In your case there is small difference because you have Vista from other sources and unfortunately must wait for download from Toshiba page. I know that everybody of us want to have this soon but the whole support action is not so simply like all of us think. I believe that drivers are not the problem but Toshiba tools and utilities must be prepared and tested properly.
    Sorry Murat but you must have patience and wait. Other way you can try to find some drivers on hardware manufacturers download pages. Later you can install all stuff additionally.

    i am hearing impaired and was frustrated to download a movie and found no support for subtitles. Please apple fix this problem.

    We're new owners of Apple TV, and we agree whole heartedly that Apple TV should enable Subtitles to movies for the Hearing Impaired. Yes, we have the TV Ears, but when you are unable to hear particular sounds, it doesn't matter how high the volume. You can not hear the dialogue clearly, and do not understand, as a result. One tires of making inferences on a constant basis in an attempt to enjoy a movie.
    Apple tends to be a "leader," and we hope that they will take this suggestion under advisement -- Movie Subtitles will be an option. We hope that it happens SOON.

  • What ethernet cable do I need for my Satellite A300?

    Hi there,
    I just bought a Toshiba Satellite A300 today, and I have just plugged in my ethernet cable that is plugged into my normal PC, however it seems to be stuck.
    IS there a special ethernet cable you use with a Notebook or is a problem with my jack?
    If someone could let me know that would be great.

    no one side of the ethernet cable is plugged in the modem and always and then the other side is usually plugged into my PC now i have take in out of my pc and put it in my notebook jack and it will not come out, the connections fine, It's just if I want to take it out to plug back in my comp it wont come out and obviously I'm a bit nervous to pull it hard in fear I'll damage the jack.
    any thoughts?

    Dont know what *Satellite L645-xxx* you have exactly but such series was released for USA market too: for example +Satellite L645-S4102+
    Therefore the manual could be downloaded also from Toshiba US support page; of course it depends on model you have.

    Your notebook seems to be a Satellite L300-03C PSLB8C-03C01X.
    As already suggested in your first thread visit the Toshiba Canada page and choose this notebook model on the driver page.

    Then download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (SATA) - Floppy drive image. Its for Vista but the files in this package should work with Win XP too.
    Include these files using nLite in order to create new Win XP disk containing the SATA drivers.
    Finally use this disk for booting.

    You have to install Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. Both tools can be downloaded on official Toshiba website:

    As Dr.Lamp wrote the Hotkey utility is only available for Windows XP. For Vista and Windows 7 you have to install the above mentioned tools. Install VAP first and then Flash Cards Support Utility. These tools control the FN keys for example so after installation the buttons F1-F12 should work properly again. :)

    You should visit the Toshiba page posted by Terentino.
    There you would find the drivers for U940 series.
    It provides two sound drivers: one from Realtek and one from SRS. Install both. The sound driver SRS provides additional sound improvement effects.
    Additional be sure the graphic card driver is installed too.

  • Need swappable CD rom drive for the Satellite 230CX

    After hours trawling the net, I still haven't found the part number for the swappable cdrom drive for the Satellite 230CX.
    Sadly a couple of sites say it's the PA2659U / XM-1402B, so I bought one from eBay, and it doesn't fit!
    Any help would be appreciated with either the straight answer or a pointer to a parts list.

    I dont found any information about this notebook.
    But usually it should be possible to order the supported and compatible CD rom part from the Toshiba service partner in your country.
