Support of Forms 4.5

Hi folks,
we have some questions concerning Forms 4.5:
- Is Forms 4.5 still supported by Oracle? If not, what is the oldest release still supported by Oracle?
- Is it possible to run Forms 4.5 against Oracle 8.1.7 or even Oracle 9i Database?
Thanks for your help
claudine

4.5 is desupported (desupported Dec 2000!) and won't be supported against the 9 database (I think ita wasn't certified against 8i either).
Developer 2000 2.1 was desupported Sep 2000.
Latest release is 6i.....

  • Adobe Reader for Blackberry Does Not Support Fillable Forms

I've discovered that the version released for Android does support fillable forms, but the version for Blackberry does not.  I assume Blackberry did not develop the app so what gives?

    Mehwish,
Thank you so much for responding, and so quickly. I appreciate it.
It does not appear as though the PDF I am trying to read would have an element in it that would block it from reflow, but that is always possible. It’s a textbook, and I understand that toward the end of the book there are some charts and diagrams, but I haven’t gotten to those chapters yet. So far, I’ve just been trying to use the Adobe Reader to read the introduction and first chapter and nothing I have done has made it reflow.
I’m enclosing a copy of the entire book. Perhaps you can uncover something in it that I didn’t see.
    Thanks again for you help.

  • Oracle Support Requesting Forms Webcast Topic Suggestions

<p>Every other month, Oracle Support has been broadcasting, via Web Conference, presentations which provide a variety of Oracle Forms related topics.</p>
<p>We would like to solicit your ideas for new presentation topics for future Advisor Webcasts. The topic should broad enough so as to be of value to most attendees. The presentations are limited to approximately one hour, so the topic should not be overly complex. Please also avoid overly simply topics, as well because these will likely not be of interest to a large enough audience.</p>
<p>Please refer to Metalink Note 423317.1 for a list of previously presented Webcasts. Replays for these Webcasts are also available from this note. This note will also provide details which allow you to register for upcoming events.</p>
<p>Although we cannot guarantee that your topic will be presented, all will be considered. The above mentioned note will be updated as new topics are added.</p>
<p>Please feel free to post your suggestions in this thread.

    Matt,
Thank you very much for your feedback. Great idea!
The Forms webcasts are presented by the Oracle Forms Support team from around the world. These engineers primarily Support the Forms product line and therefore have limited exposure to the EBusiness line. Although we will definitely discuss your suggestion within my team (Forms Support), I would also recommend that you refer to the WebCast main note which has more information about other lines of business and their presentations. Schedules for Ebusiness and other products are also listed in that note. See note 398877.1 and its references.
    https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=398877.1
That said, most of the content presented in the Forms webcasts has been somewhat generic. Meaning that it applies to most versions of Forms - past to present. Some exceptions might be in situations where we may have been discussing core Application Server features like SSO or EM. In the case of WebUtil, although it was designed and tested to work with Forms 9.x and newer, the basic idea of having a Java Bean or PJC (which is what WebUtil is) in Forms is generic regardless of whether or not you are using EBusiness. If you are using the latest versions of EBusiness (Version 12), it is based on Forms 10, so many of our Forms webcasts may apply, including WebUtil.

Again, thank you for the feedback! I will be sure to pass you idea on to the EBiz team.

  • Where is the continue support request form situate...

Hi there i have just paid 5.74 for a premium account shows that it has been debited and said that i had premium account, it wont let me make a group video call and i cant find the contact support request form anywhere PLEASE can anyone help me.....thankyou in advance

Whilst trying to buy a premium subscription package from Skype, I erroneously ticked the US + Canada box, when I wanted unlimited Europe....result....after two days of faffing about, Ive had to pay for an additional 'unlimited Europe' package...without being able to transfer the credit from the wrongly bought US + Canada package!!!
Why does Skype make their site so user 'unfriendly?!'
I've had to scroll laboriously through many pages to try and get a refund for the first premium package...skype will take your money quickly enough...why cant they just have a 'request cancellation/refund button on the accounts page?  it doesn't make any sense....and it causes loads of hassle....if anyone out there has an easy/any way to get my money back...please get in touch

  • Does Captivate v6 support any form of TTS markup?

The issue of Captivate v6 not supporting any form of text-to-speech markup seems to not be addressed by Adobe support.  What are our options??  Please advise.

After a new product version has been released, it's highly unlikely that Adobe will return to a previous version to fix anything other than show-stopper bugs.  My guess is that if Cp7 now supports the markup feature you need, then Adobe's recommendation would be to upgrade.

  • To Lenovo Support - Ask for required information on your support request form

This message is directed to Lenovo EMC Support. Whenever opening a support request, time is wasted in the first communication volley because the online support form does not ask for the required information.
The first reply I get is always requesting the information listed below. Please, out of respect for your customers' time and your support personnel, update your support request form to ask for this information right on the support page at https://lenovo-na-en.custhelp.com/app/ask/
Also, please update your Serial Number field so that it can accept the full serial number for the devices.
The first reply I receive from your support staff always asks for this information:
    * Required information
    *First Name:
    *Last Name:
Company Name and/or Point of Contact (if applicable):
    *Shipping Address:
    *City:
    *State:
    *Postal Code:
    *Country:
    *Daytime Telephone Number:
    *Product Serial Number:
    *Product Country of Origin:

Thanks for the suggestion, I forwarded that to the appropriate people.
As for the serial number section, the serial numbers are either 10 digits or 8 for some new devices. You may be refering to the whole model number and seriasl number. The SN is the last 10 or 8 digits.
Where is my product's serial number?

  • Collection type support in Forms version 6.0.8.11.3

    Hi
I am trying to call this from forms.
I am getting error no data found whenever this calls IF condition but from backend if run it from a script it works fine.
So I was thinking whether Forms PL/SQL version supports collection types.
I am using Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.11.3 (Production).
    IF (p_emp_ids.COUNT > 0) THEN
    FOR r IN v_emp_ids.FIRST..v_pkg_ids.LAST LOOP
    Thanks in Advance

Is it just a a typo that the IF is on P_emp_ids and the loop is on V_em_ids?
However: the NO_DATA_FOUND exception suggests that you may be falling down a crack in your collection. If you have a missing element between FIRST and LAST you will get a no_data_found. Suppose these elements are there:
    (1), (2). (3), (5), (6)
You will start at FIRST (1) and finish at LAST (6). But your loop on R will try to find the element at (4). Which isn't there. Oops...
To prove that's what's happening, you can wrap the inside of the loop with an exception handler
       BEGIN
          do the access to v_emp_ids(r)
       EXCEPTION
WHEN NO_DATA_FOUND then (log a message with the value if R in it)
END;If you want to walk a collection with gaps (a "sparse" collection), this is the way:
      DECLARE
         r pls_integer;
      BEGIN
         r := v_empids.FIRST
         LOOP
             EXIT when r IS NULL;
             do the business on v_empids(r);
             r := v_empids(r).NEXT;
END LOOP;Now, why didn't this work in Forms, but did on the server? Possible reasons:
    - your back end script was set up differently - so you had a dense collection (no gaps)
    - Client side PL/SQL is different from server side (is it still version 1.x?)

  • Multi Language support PDF Forms?

I am trying to understand if I create form fields in Acrobat Pro (which we do often) will international users with differnet character set keyboards.(ie: asia, pac rim) be able to fill in the forms. When I create form fields now (English, Pro 9.2) I can choose the default font and size and other type attributes but no indication of what would be available if the chosen font or only dblbyte fonts are present on the clients computer.
I have been searching web and beyond(aplication manuals!) and have found nothing to help me understand mulitlinqual support for Acrobat Form Fields.
    Any new knowledge appreciated
    -regards

you have two solutions either to:
    1. make the forms again with new labels with the required language (but this way i don't prefer)
    2. make 2 tables in your database one contains the languages and the other contains all the labels with unique id
and these two tables have relationship
make dialog canvas at the start of your application to let the user choose the language required.
according to his chosen call or load the labels infront of every item in the canvas.

  • Safari is not Supporting Oracle Forms

    Hi,
I'm using Oracle forms 11g. Previously I was able to open the Oracle Forms from Safari(5.1.3) but now I'm unable to open it from Safari(5.1.7). It is showing blank page and it is also not asking for any plug-in.
Please help me out from this problem.

This is mostly an Apple issue and you should discuss it with them. Oracle Support has authored some documents on the subject, but because it is really an Apple issue, you probably will be best served contacting them. Basically, Apple has put Java on lockdown. If you want it to work make some setting changes. There are numerous web site that are talking about the new restrictions. A simple Google search will get you started.

Where can I get the Forms EAR for OC4J?
We planned to certify Forms6i patch 9 with OC4J. Performance
testing unveilled problems when running the Forms Servlet in
OC4J via the Apache listener. I see. I wanted to run forms on OC4J without apache at all. I was hoping this would become a supported configuration.
Is Reports CGI + OC4J a certified combination?Does OC4J have a CGI environemnt? Anyway, the answer is no.Yes, there are instructions on metalink about how to run the forms and reports CGI applications through OC4J's CGI servlet. However, I don't know how "supported/certified" that is.
For somebody that needs just forms and reports, the full
iAS 9i EE installation is way overkill. I'd rather just
    have iAS9i Core + Forms + Reports.
Forms and Reports are part of 9iAS Enterprise Edition and are
installed in this bundle. There is no other option.Yes, it is true that Oracle forced us to pay for all of Oracle 9iAS Enterprise Edition to use forms and reports on the web. But, that doesn't mean that Forms and Reports won't work without all the other components installed. In fact, I couldn't even get it installed with the default EE install. I had to install iAS Core, then install Forms and Reports 6i, and then patch them all the way up manually because the iAS 1.0.2.2.1 EE install kept dying while trying to install Discoverer (something I didn't even want).
Even using OC4J would have required you to use Apache upfront. We need to have good performance with a small number of users on an intranet. We want webforms mostly for the convenience of avoiding client installations. We don't need any load-balancing at this time (and anyway, we could come up with some poor-mans load balancing if needed it). So, I think we would have been okay with OC4J and no Apache.
    Thanks for the answers,
    Brian

  • ****** URGENT ****** ---  Unicode support in Forms 6i

    Hi,
I am using Forms 6i on Windows 2000. I have set the input locale of my OS to Hindi (Indian language) and the Keyboard layout also to the same. When I am using Forms Runtime to enter data, whatever I type is getting shown as ? (question marks). But if I type in Arabic (by setting the keyboard layout and the input locale), it is displaying the characters properly. I am using Arial MS Unicode font. I tried copying the character from character map and pasted it in the input box in Forms Runtime. Then it is allowing correctly. My NLS_LANG on the client side is American_America.UTF8 and the database character set is also UTF8.
Can somebody say how to implement this?
    Thanks
    Ganesh
