Support of UCS P81E in third-party servers

Hi there,
is it possible to use UCS P81E (N2XX-ACPCI01=) with other servers than UCS C-series? If so, is there any compatibilty list of supported vendors or server types?

The datasheet referenced her descibes Adapter-FEX the reference is specific to that technology. It states:
"...An ecosystem of adapter vendors is now about to support this technology using the IEEE 802.1Qbh standard, the first vendor being Cisco itself, with the Cisco UCS P81E VIC (Figure 2), designed for use with Cisco UCS C-Series Rack-Mount Servers. Other adapter vendors will soon follow, providing adapters that support this capability. Both Cisco Nexus 5500 platform and the Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders support the Adapter FEX technology across a variety of adapter platforms. Therefore, the offering can now be expanded outside a Cisco UCS environment to third-party server vendors that support IEEE 802.1Qbh-capable adapters."
This means that you could use a third-party adapter such as the Broadcom 57712 which is IEEE 802.1Qbh (prestandard IEEE 802.1Qbr) capable to configure Adapter-FEX in a Cisco or Non-Cisco server.
As Manish mentions, the P81E is only supported in the C-Series servers and there are currently no immediate plans to qualify it with other third party servers.

PLEASE HELP!! I've used iWeb to create multiple sites, all published to third party servers. The very last site I made changes to is showing up in any domain file I open - despite their different names and locations on my iMac. I just switched to Lion.

Please HELP!! I just switched to Lion. I have created multiple websites using iWeb 3.0.4 and despite my having saved their 'domain' files in various locations and using different filenames, upon opening the domain files I keep getting the very last site I published. All the sites were published to third party servers. The domain files (still have a preview that look correct and have different file sizes) but keep going back to the last site published. HELP ME PLEASE!! Are the old files still available?!!

In Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.

You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder. So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

Support for Shared Variables in Third Party XP embedded based TPC's?

I have deployed an application in an XP embedded based Touch Panel (Third party). The application is working fine, but the shared variables hosted on an RT (sbRIO Board) are not getting updated in the application on TPC
1. The TPC is part of the project as Windows XP Embedded Touch Panel
2. NI TPC Service has been installed on the TPC and the application can be deployed remotely from the development PC through ethernet. (Hence network connections and communications are OK)
3. By using Distributed Systems Manager in the development computer, I can see that the shared variables are getting updated on the network
I believe that the problem can be solved if the following programs are installed on the TPC
A. Support for shared variables for XPembedded
B. Shared Variable engine
I have tried installing support for shared variables from Program Files > National Instruments > Labview 8.6 > PDA > Utilities > Variables > x86 - but am getting an installation error "Unable to find application manager for Pocket PC applications".
Shared variable engine has been installed from ve220 folder. The program is getting installed. But the Variable Engine is not started Control Panel > Administrative tools > Services in Xpe, the service is stopped and cannot be started. When I try to start the service, I am getting the following error on TPC
"Could not start the National Instruments Variable Engine Service on the local computer.
Error 1053. The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."
Please suggest solutions for the above or alternate locations for the following:
1. Support for shared variables for XP embedded TPC's
2. Shared Variable engine installer program.

Update for interested folks working on XP Embedded TPC's
Just to make sure that Shared Variables were indeed accessible to the TPC, I wanted to install Distributed Systems Manager 8.6 on the TPC. However since the TPC was having only 1 GB of DOM (Disk on Memory) and with all the software I had tried, there were only a few Megabytes left on the system. I had to add another DOM of 2 GB.
All the products of the Installation went fine, with the exception of NI Logos (Version 5.0). NI Logos installation failed repeatedly. I tried installing NI Logos separately, with the same results. Then I had this gut feeling that NI Logos had something to do with the issue.
I then downloaded the new version of NI DSM 2009 SP1. Although this was supposed to get installed on any fresh system without Labview, the installation would not proceed beyond the setup stage. I tried installing NI Logos from the products folder on the new download separately and it worked like magic!
Once the new Logos (Ver 5.5) got installed, the Shared Variable Engine started automatically and the Shared Variables were finally unleashed - free to rise and shine! Thank God Almighty!!
On the lighter side, come to think of it - for running an application of around 400KB, we need XP embedded, NI Run Time, Logos, DSM .......... (all around 900MB). Can we make it any simpler?!! Inviting your comments .......

Trim support in mountain lion for third party ssd

Hi,
I have an Intel 320 series SSD in my intel core duo 2008 2.6ghz macbook pro.
I had trim support enabled in Lion and tried to re-enable it with the usual terminal commands after upgrading to ML.
The first two commands to back up and patch the new file appear to work, but when I try to clear the 1st cache using:
sudo kextcache -system-prelinked-kernel
I get the following error:
Kernel file /mach_kernel does not contain requested arch: i386
Then in system information after reboot it says that trim has not enabled.
Does anyone know how I can re-enable trim support.

I tried this and it wouldn't work for me. It backed up the file, but when I tried to open the .kext file with the same editor he used, it wouldn't allow me to open it. I also tried logging in as the root user and didn't work either. Any ideas?

Third party apps no longer work with bus transportation! HELP!

I understand Apple no longer supports bus transportation (lame) but third party apps, such as SEAtac, OneBusAway, or anything else just gives me a 'no routes available' page. I can't find any routes on my desktop either. Is this happening to anyone else?!
Does anyone know a) how to fix this or b) how to downgrade back to the 7.1 operating system?

a) you would probably need to contact the app developer about their app, and I would know nothing about your desktop. b) Apple does not support downgrading of iOS. It cannot be done.

ATP check CRM R/3 for Third Party items

CRM .0 does not support an ATP check for Third Party items. This
is axplained in several notes and we also find it in practice in
our system. Actually an ATP check does also not happen in R/3,
if you create the order in R/3, but it takes the delivery lead
time, from the material or the info record, into account for the
confirmation date.
ATP check from CRM to R/3 is triggered by the requirements class
that is determined in R/3 from the item category. So in case
during an ATP chekc from CRM in R/3 no requirements class is
found for the item category, as this is the case for the third
party item category the system does no futher action and does
not take the delivery lead time into account.
This is standard system behaviour.
We are setting up a webshop where the above mentioned could
result in a partial confirmed order during order simulate. The
customer will not be able to view the confirmed date before
actually saving the order.
My question is if anybody ever tried to find a workaround or
solution for this missing functionality.

Hi Pascal,
Middleware setting is only to activate the ATP call from CRM to R/3. It has nothing to do with the pop-ups you are getting. I don't remember on top of my head how to eliminate this situation. I think when you call ATP, the system is validating the partner functions. Check partner determination profile assigned to the transaction type. I believe you need to make some changes to the partner profile. Are you getting these pop-ups only for a particular transaction type?

Third-party SSD with Yosemite

Hi all
I would like to upgrade my MBP Early 2011 with an SSD. I read different forum posts about TRIM support in 10.10 for third-party SSDs. Can somebody tell me, if there are any SSD I can install without having TRIM disabled. What happens if TRIM is disabled or what does that mean to the performance and the disk itself?

This link gives a good explanation of what TRIM does and why it's needed on an SSD. In reading it, you'll notice that HD's and SSD's do not function in the same way and TRIM helps to compensate for the difference. These days all SSD's have some form of Garbage Collection built into their controllers but without the assistance of TRIM, they can't tell the difference between valid and deleted data so unnecessary data movement has to take place which decreases performance and increases wear on the SSD.

Lync intergration with third party PBX

I want to implement the scenario below, I dont have clear picture whether it is techinicall possible in the state of the art solution or not.
First I have one third party PBX, which is interconnected with Lync server. I configure the binding relationship between one IP Phone registerred in the third party PBX and one Lync clinet under Lync server. Eg, number 1000 is registered in third party PBX
and number 2000 is registered in Lync server. When someboday call 1000, both 1000 and 2000 can ring simutanesouly since this can be configured on the third party PBX, similary whenever 2000 is called, both 1000 and 2000 can also ring at the same time since
this cabapility is provided also by Lync server.
But I want to implement that after the call is initiated from Lync client after some inquery into the contact list and a specific contact number is selected, the IP Phone binded to this Lync number also will ring and act as the caller to call the other
side. Eg, when 3000 is selected on Lync (number 2000), 1000, which is the IP Phone under the third party PBX will call 3000.
Please kindly suggest the techinical solution or any techinial analysis is welcome. Thanks!

So, when you set up RCC, Lync sends the command to the IP PBX, the IP Phone knows which number to call because it understands that language from Lync Typically the PBX supplier has this feature that is known to work with Lync. If the PBX
supplier doesn't have this, but they do have TAPI support, I've seen some third party products that can convert the Lync RCC language into TAPI and send it to the unsupported PBX. Estos used to have a good one, but I haven't played with it in a while:

So for Legacy PBXs, usually they don't supply anything that will connect with Lync, so that's where you'll need the RCC->TAPI gateway if TAPI is available from your PBX. If it's not, then you're stuck with the calling between them (1000, 2000),
but you couldn't control the PBX IP Phone with your Lync client.

Will a Muse contact form work with a third party host?

I have made websites in the past that are hosted on adobe catalyst but never a third party. If I use a form from Muse, will it work on a their party host without any extra coding? If coding is needed, what do I need to do?

I start using the new adobe muse cc forms for third party hosting servers and i have this website for one of my customers i create a CONTACT FORM on the website and when try to submit it says "server encontered an error" i chat with adobe support they send me a URL with the options to fix my problem and then when i run this URL "http://mistercoffeediaz.com/scripts/form_check.php" everything is working fine. Can we Monitor third party Windows servers through Cisco Prime

Hi Team,
We are using Cisco Prime assurance and are currently monitoring Cisco UCCE Components through it.
Meanwhile we have few third party windows servers , which we would like to monitor it through Cisco Prime , just to maintain a single monitoring tool.
If yes, please share the steps or link.Also highlight the limitations in that.

Seems Cisco Prime Assurance Manager is now obsolete and end of life already.
It is replaced by Cisco Prime Infrastructure. CPI supports third party/vendor devices to some minimum extent with limited management details collected via SNMP Templates.

A third-party directory servers/security provider (LDAP)

Here is a scenario. If a security provider is a third-party directory servers that supports LDAP, is there a way to define roles in my schema table but LDAP be my authentication security provider? Sounds like a double security provider! (Looks like I had asked something similar long time ago)
Or does the LDAP server needs to be a real provider (authentication and authorization and handle roles as well and not leave anything for me except permissions) while I set up permissions in system-jazn-data.xml and define roles in web.xml that matches the roles in ldap?
Since the third party security provider throws in a login dialog, I may not have to use custom login module. But, I want to set up permissions. Hope I am making sense. Default realm jazn will now be replaced by something that says it is ldap. Is that assumption correct?
If I make sense, please point to a doc about the above scenario.

You can use this scenario assuming you have a LoginModule that gets the authenticated user from LDAP and then queries the database for the security roles. This however doe not work with any of the LoginModules that are published on OTN or contained in OC4J
