Support site says number is invalid

O.K. I got through the first part I did get the correct serial number but as I feared when I went back to log it in to the support site it told me the number was invalid. I have only had this computer 3 months and this is the third or fouth problem I have had I am beggining to think that I am going to ask for a replacement because I am not happy with the direction things are going. Anyone know what to do when it will not take the serial number? I am having a lot of operating problems so this really concerns me.

A couple of things to check. Typos, upper/lower case (shouldn't be an issue), and things like 1 instead of l or 0 vs O, even 5 and S can be a problem.

    I also had issues opening AVCHD files on case-sensitive filesystems.
    You can try these steps to solve the issue:
    Right click on the AVCHD file and select 'Show Package Contents'
    Right click on the BDMV file and select 'Show Package Contents'
    Rename index.bdm to INDEX.BDM (it seems that all files in the BDMV folder should be in UPPERCASE for Quicktime to open the AVCHD file).
    Go back twice and try again to double-click on the AVCHD file (Quicktime should open a window showing the multiple clips, as expected).

    A valid Apple product serial number is eleven characters long, does not contain the letters I or O—though the numerals 1 and 0 are valid characters—contains the numeral 0 though 9 in the third position and the numeric string 01 through 52 in the fourth and fifth positions.
    On your model, it's found screened beneath a barcode on the underside of your foot, or can be found as you were instructed using About This Mac or using the System Profiler application. If your logic board has been replaced and is not the original unit installed at the time of manufacture, your logic board may not have the serial number embedded in firmware. In that case, it is not available to display using the About This Mac dialog or the System Profile application.
    The most reliable source of such information is typically the number screened on, inscribed or affixed by label to your Apple product.

    This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Divice Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

    (Windows phone connector reports 07.10.08107.3)
    On the update availability page it says that the latest update IS available, but both my phone and Windows Phone Connector tell me that they can't find any update.
    The phone is unlocked, and I'm using a rather obscure carrier called springmobil.
    How can I get that update?

    Bought CS3 Extended a few years ago from a reseller on ebay packaged up and sealed in box with printed info. Has serial number sticker on back of the CD case. November 13' had a new PC built with Windows 7 64 bit. Reinstalled CS3 Extended. Worked fine up until about a month ago. Then PC would not open or aknowledge it was on my system. Tried to uninstall, wouldn't let me so had to find software to remove it and all of the components.Did this. Then try to reinstall again but won't let me reinstall.This is what happens. When I put the disc into the CD driver dialogue box says do I want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer? I click on Install and overall progress starts then shows dialogue box  "Summary Errors 2 components"  Adobe Photoshop CS3 , component install failed. Shared components, component install failed.  What do I need to do to install this again? Please help.

    Just user to user....based on past and current history, Adobe Tech Support is not going to help you with a technical issue which is preventing you from using your purchased serial number for Photoshop Elements. Version 12 is not the current version. And, the Adobe Tech Support is limited even for the current version which is 13. If this matter involves a purchased activated serial number trapped on a crashed computer while you are trying to install on a 3rd computer, then probably Adobe Chat Activation can be of assistance. If that is the case and you want to explore that possibility, then click on the following link

    Photoshop Elements 12 in your list to reveal the serial number.
    c. Do the install with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.

  • Old school with CS2.  Haven't used in a while and am unable to use the program as it says my serial number is invalid. Customer service tells me the server for CS2 has been shut down.  Then they sent me here for help.  Does anyone have any advice?

    CS2 is very old and reached its "end of life" a while back.  So probably won't run on modern operating systems.  If you can still run it, you'll need to uninstall what you have and re-install with the download link below to activate it.

    You are allowed to have two activated installations.  If you happened to have one on this Windows 8 machine before, it is possible that the activation used for it was never deactivated (did you deactivate it before you upgraded Windows?).  Talk to Adobe support thru chat.  They might be able to resolve this with you:
