Supported database platform for siebel analytics

Hi All ,
I was going through the Siebel Analytics release notes and noticed that thay have listed supported database twice.Once for SRMW and another given as just the supported database.
I am not able to figure out the difference. Are SRMW databases are the one for which delivered warehouse is supposed to be used and if you dont have SRMW then any of the listed database can be used .
Please advice.
Thanks!!

I'm not sure what you mean with that difference, but have you also read this document? http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12127_01/doc/bia.795/e12086.pdf
In this document find you can find the supported databases for the SRMW (which is named OBAW nowadays).

  • IE8 Support for Siebel Analytics 7.8.5

    Hi Experts,
Currently my company has given me the task to check the issues of IE8 support for Siebel Analytics as they are trying to upgrade IE6 to IE8.
So I have the following queries:
    1. Will Siebel Analytics 7.8.5 supports IE8?
    2. If not, then is there any patch available for 7.8.5 version to support IE8?
    3. What are the other options there might be?
Please let me know your inputs.

  • Is there a Java SDK for Siebel Analytics/Oracle BI

Hi, I want to integrate with Siebel Analytics (now known as Oracle Business Intelligence, right?) to our product. Is there a JAVA SDK for Siebel Analytics/Oracle BI? If so, can anyone point me to the right place to get them. Much appreciated.

There is currently no JDK or any other API to work with OBI EE (formerly Siebel Analytics).
The presentation component exposes some functionality via web services.
You can interact with the BI Server via NQCMD so you could build your own application that executes NQCMDs but this is not well documented other than typing NQCMD ? at the command line.
The OBI Metadata is captured in a .rpd file which can be manipulated via UDML but this is not supported - do a search on Google for UDML (which is a proprietary format) for some examples on using this. OWB recently rolled out with some integration with OBI - it accomplishes this by manipulating the .rpd file using UDML.
The Oracle folks monitor this forum. If you can reply with some specifics as to what you want to accomplish, I'm sure they will consider your needs if they decide to publish an API.

  • Database Platform for J2EE DataSource

Does specifying a Database Platform have any effect if I am connecting to the DB via a J2EE Datasource? Functionally it seems to work if I don't configure a Platform, but I'm wondering if there might be invisible side effects such as a drop in performance.
    Thanks,
    Patrick

If you do not configure a database platform a generic platform will be used. For the most part this should be sufficient, and database platforms is mainly required for things beyond the JDBC specification. If you are not encountering any errors, then the generic platform is sufficient.
A database platform may be required for:
    - DDL and table creation
    - Usage of native SQL (normally not required)
    - Usage of native sequencing
    - Usage of non-standard outer joins syntax
    - JDBC driver integration (Oracle JDBC lobs, nchars, timestamps)
    - Database functions

  • Extended Support For Siebel 7.8 post June 2013

    Hello All,
Considering siebel 7.8 is retiring this year, what are the support options available post retirement. One of our client wants to replace siebel with another tool and have used very limited support in past from oracle. What do you think is the best solution during this transition phase of switching from Siebel to another tool.
Basically, I am looking for cost efficient and limited support options.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Siebel Analytics using HTTPS

    Hi,
Does anyone know if this is possible if your using 10g DB / Application Server for Siebel Analytics 7.8.5? I have tried looking for documentation but unable to find any.
    Any help would be appreciated

If the page is read from the cache and you select a permission for that page, when you click I understand the risks it can remember that option or not. There is a work around for this. If you add the https://domain.com to the exceptions list
    check out about:permissions
If you add the webpage to the list and manage cookies, this may be a good place to avoid this. Once you set the permissions for the https site, can you load the page by bypassing the cache and let us know if this still happens?
Reload the webpage while bypassing the cache using '''one''' of the following steps:
*Hold down the ''Shift'' key and click the ''Reload'' button with a left click.
    OR
*Press ''Ctrl'' + ''F5'' or ''Ctrl'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Windows and Linux)
    *Press ''Command'' + ''Shift'' + ''R'' (Mac)
Let us know if this solves the issues you are having.

  • Know more detail about the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One ?

SAP Business One 9.1 is about to release this year and we can see in the feature enhancements that a significant update is planned in the Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One, more commonly known as RSP. Let’s have a quick look what update is planned for RSP in version 9.1:
Enhancements planned in Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One 9.1
RSP is planned to support both SAP Business One on Microsoft SQL Server as well as SAP Business One on HANA Database
RSP Processes and Reports adapted to SAP HANA Database
With this plan RSP will help in the areas of Download, Installation, Go-Live Check, Monitoring, Upgrade and Support for SAP Business One both   on SQL Server and HANA.
But like me (non-SAP B1 Consultant) many of you have the question what is RSP and how it helps in support? Here I have tried to gather all information.
What is Remote Support Platform for SAP Business One?
The remote support platform for SAP Business One is designed to protect a SAP Business One installation by providing automated and remote support in a high-volume business.
The platform monitors the entire SAP Business One environment. By significantly reducing the time between the appearance, identification, and resolution of issues, the remote support platform for SAP Business One minimizes the impact on customer databases and processes.
Some Key Features of Remote Support Platform:
Showing alerts to SAP B1 Admin about the events which require their attention, such as low disk space, database backups, etc.
Incident Reports against the issues identified which require attention of SAP Support
Company Database Backup and Restore options
Regular fixes of Company Database inconsistencies
Check, Download and Install regular updates in SAP Business One
Upload Logs and required files to SAP Support or to Partner Support on regular basis
Some details about RSP Backup Management
Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly backups
Perform differential and full database backups
    Back up transaction logs
Back up files to shared folders on a network
    System Status Report through RSP
From June 1st 2013, it will be mandatory to install, configure and upload the System Status Report (SSR) from Remote Support Platform (RSP) for SAP Business One in order to receive support for messages of a technical nature (upgrades, performance & crashes, etc).
    Database uploads only via RSP
From June 1st 2013 SAP Business One Support will only accept database uploads to SAP via remote support platform for SAP Business One. In certain exceptional circumstances STFP may be used but this will constitute a minority of cases.
    Microsoft Windows PowerShell Scripting
In the remote support platform studio, you can create tasks using Microsoft Windows PowerShell scripting. PowerShell enables you to perform remote administrative tasks on customers’ Microsoft Windows operating systems, by providing full access to Component Object Model (COM) and Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).Some Network Prerequisite for RSP
To achieve the internet connection test, you must allow port 80 for the RSP external communication
Disabling antivirus firewall or add the RSP to the trusted zone of the antivirus
    Set the correct proxy
Disabling Windows firewall in the TP_link Wireless Configuration Utility

  • Support for Siebel

    Hi All,
I came to know from my friend that Support for Siebel will be stopped by 2013. Is it true?
    Regards,
    Mani

    Your "friends" are wrong...
Official Lifetime support is detailled here (p.15 for SIEBEL products)
    http://www.oracle.com/support/library/brochure/lifetime-support-applications.pdf
Globally, Oracle support has 4 phases:
-Product is made Globally Available (GA)
-GA+ 5 years later, end of normal support (if you are paying your maintenance fees)
-GA+ 8 years later, end of extended support (means a bit more expensive)
-GA+ N years later, end of life (means no customer can afford the high maintenance fees required for obsolete products)
==> That is why you have to handle a migration policy.
If there is no specific technical gap (like v6 to v7 was or v8 to vFusion may be):
-stay on your current release with at least 1 patch per year
-plan migration before GA+5 or GA+8 years depending on your business needs on SIEBEL
    Best regards

  • EDQ Address Verification level mode supported for Siebel CRM

    Hi,
We are in process of implementing Oracle Enterprise Data quality for SIebel CRM Public sector 8.2.2.4 version for our client and are awaiting license. We have few questions on how Address verification process works with Loqate postal files and how the validated address will be updated back in Siebel. I observed in few documentations that the Address verification level can be set to Verify or Match where Verify mode will return only one validated address in response and Match will return multiple close matched address along with the match score as a response.
Can you please let me know if Siebel with EDQ AV supports both Verify and Match mode? Any information around this question or the document which talks more about this feature is highly appreciated. Thanks for the assistance
    Regards
    Siva Sonti

    Hi,
I cannot comment on the UCM roadmap since it is not under my remit.
    Re. your questions:
    1. EDQ returns a fair amount of information back in the response and any of the attributes can be returned to Siebel and displayed by customizing the mappings to the service. This includes a textual description of the verification code and an indication based on the verification level and the configured thresholds that shows whether or not the address was corrected/enhanced (verified = Y/N). See example below.
    2. Yes, if you require a V (Verified) result with a minimum level of 4, you will be correcting addresses if they are verified to premise or subpremise level. If a subpremise was input but could not be verified you would get a P4 (partially verified to premise level) result, or if there were several possible subpremises that it fuzzy matched, you would get an A4 (ambiguously verified to level 4) result, which you could choose to accept or suppress based on the 'allowedverificationresultcodes' threshold.
