Supported Image formats in af:image?

Could anyone pls. list which Image formats - the af:image component supports?
I can't find it listed anywhere,

Unfortunately - using jpg - is not an option - due to external requirements.
Are there another ADF component/construction I can use - to getting ti tiff shown?

Dear all,
I have installed apple Aperture 3.03 and the complete Nick software plug-in selection:
• Dfine 2.0 for Aperture
• Color Efex Pro 3.0 Complete for Aperture
• Silver Efex Pro for Aperture
• Sharpener Pro 3.0 for Aperture
• Viveza 2 for Aperture
History
Until a few days ago the system was running ok / no notable issues on performance. / all pug in seem to run good / no issues. Also
• I Run OSX10.4/ Aperture 3.03 ( 32Bit mode)
• My library contains just over 10000 images / approximately 140GB
• I have recently updated the OSX software update including the security update 2010-005
• as well as the Snow leopard graphic update 1.0
• As far as I am aware all updates where automatically recommended by OSX Software update ( no manual intervention).
• As far as I remember after update the system still was running ok but honestly I can not tell you how many times the Nick Plug in started out of Aperture.
After all, Several times I continued using the system / still no noticeable problem until the following was happening:
Problem:
After creating with "PT gui" a panoramic image File type: "TIF" Pixel size: 5112 × 2556 (13,1 MP) I imputed this file in to Aperture (drag and drop). During the attempt to eddied this file with "Nick Define 2.0" the system was hamming up No response for several minutes from Dfine 2.0 / Aperture" At the end I had to "force quit" the applications.
After the consequential reopening of Aperture I tried again to eddied images with any Nick software Plug-In but each time Aperture prepares any image previously stored in my Library ti open the Pug in the following Error message appears:
*"This image cannot be rendered for editing because Aperture does not support the image format"*
Currently non of my previously in the library safed images can be opened in a Nick software Plug-In this applies to all file types I have tied " Raw, tif, jpg"
• I am still able to eddied normally with Aperture ( so far I do not find any other issue)
• A newly imported Raw image after being taken with my EOS 5D can be edited in the completed Nick software Plug-In selection ( so far I do not find any other issue)
The following actions have been taken to overcome the issue (all not successful):
• I restored my Library out of my back Up ( to previous time of event ( no Time machine back up)
• Uninstallation of all Nick software Plug-In selection
• Uninstallation Aperture Reinstallation Aperture / Nick software Plug-In selection
• Repairing the library ( all three possibilities)
• installation of latest EOS utilitys
Questions
• Can you support me to overcome this issue?
• Have you heard similar issues of Nick user Running the Aperture plug-ins?
For me it is really strange that even after replacing the the library in my normally not connect back up the problem still exists (this should be not affected by the event as the back up was not done any more) / new imported images are editable with the Plug-In.
I would be happy if you could support me in this issue.

PS: I have reported this issue to Apple (via Aperture feedback) as well as contacted the Nick software support and currently waiting for feedback.

I have just had the same problem
I use
• Aperture 3.03 with a iMac 2.8 Intel Core 2 Duo with all files on external hard disks (mac extended fomat as apple suggests) with referenced masters.
• Camera Nikon D300, with probably 75,000+ images on 2 hard drives
• Photoshop CS2 with PhotoTools 2.5 plugin
This has been working perfectly until yesterday when the system froze when I was using PhotoTools 2.5 with Photoshop CS2 - as a result of which I resorted to a force quit.
Since then on most of my files it has not been possible to use an external editor.
A message appears saying: *Editing Error - This image cannot be rendered for editing because Aperture does not support image format*.
The problem seems to apply to the attempted use of any external editor (including Noise Ninja)
The following have each been tried, all unsuccessfully:
- Using each of Aperture's library 3 first aid options
- Rebuilding directory using Diskwarrior
- Checking for virus using Virus Barrier X4
- Defragmenting library hard disk using TechTool pro
- Changing permissions settings
- Using Disk Utility first aid to repair permissions and checking main disk
- Removing some plist elements when open 'show package contents' of library
- Setting up a(n almost clean) new system, with newly loaded version of Aperture, with a new library from a vault saved prior to the crash when the problem first occured
Several things seem to me to be totally bizarre:
1 - The problem is the same on the other library hard disk which was not in use at the time
2 - The problem still occurs when a back up vault saved prior to this problem is loaded - using a new hard disk with a new system and a newly reloaded and upgraded Aperture software
3- The problem seems inconsistent. It appears to affect some photos but not all. Even from the same shoot, some photos can be edited using an external editor, whilst others cannot (but as far as i can tell most of the photos in a particular album seem to be consistently affected)
4- The only way around it seems to be if I import a new (copy image) from the original master. Then everything works ok, and I can successfully edit that copy image in photoshop / phototools plug-in.
I am beginning to wonder whether what has been corrupted is Aperture's ability to make copies from the master file which it then uses with the external editor (I have no real idea whether this is correct)
Does anyone have any ideas or solutions - or has anyone else been suffering a similar problem?

Does Aperture support Images and videos from the new 3D cameras?

If the camera is listed here OS X Lion: Supported digital camera RAW formats or here Mac OS X v10.6: Supported digital camera RAW formats then the raw image file is supported by Aperture.
If the camera is not listed then as Keith wrote if it produces JPG's they can be imported into Aperture.
If you told us what camera you were interested in it might help.

Output to PDF not supported image files

In generating a pdf from Output to PDF in Bridge CS5, I get this dialog: "Contact Sheet Processed. Some of the selected files are not supported image files." Some of the files are included in the PDF and some are not. I'm making a PDF of INDD files, and can not find a difference between the files that generate and those that don't. I've never had this problem before. Any thoughts, anyone?

That should not happen, double check if the filenames all contain the
correct extension and there is only one dot in the filename, the one in
front of the extension (.indd)
Also use the purge cache for folder option (menu tools/cache/purge cache for
folder) when having Bridge poited to the folder with the problem files.

Sony NEX 7 - when will Aperture support RAW formats?

Just got my Sony NEX 7, but the RAW files are unsupported. The camera has been around for a while, so when will Aperture provide an update?

Does firefox support WebP format?

google chrome and opera natively support WebP image format.
i want to make sure , Does firefox support this format or not ?
If the answer is no , please add this feature in the wishlist ..!

I hope in the near future the plan to add support for webp . it has very strong compression and really helps site's speed

Supported RAW Format .arw (Sony a6000 not displayed correctly)

although listed as a supported RAW format and camera here: OS X Yosemite: Unterstützte RAW-Formate von Digitalkameras - Apple Support (SONY ILCE-6000) for Yosemite the new Photo App does not display the .arw RAW files correctly. They import just fine but into the photos app but then show up as weird lines and artifacts. Any idea if Photos app is requiring a separate RAW support or does it work on the basis of the OS wide RAW support.
Any other idea for troubleshooting this one?

I just tried importing a RAW image from my A6000 and it imported and displays just fine. How did you import the files? I always import using Image Capture and save to disk. Then, I import from disk to Photo. If you import to disk first, you should be able to use Preview to check the raw images - they should show correctly. If you import to disk and they show correctly in Preview, then OS X is reading and converting the files correctly.

Satellite U300 connected to TV - Non supported video format

I am using Toshiba Satellite U300-15q and it has a vga output so i bought a cable and a box that transfers te analogue signal of vga to digital of hdmi so that i can connect it to my 32' TV Sony make.
But if i connect it it says on the tv in yellow letters non supported video format.
Why is that and how can i fix it ?

In the whole story problem is that you use third part hardware or software so this described issue has nothing to do with your Toshiba notebook or Toshiba in general.
On notebooks side is important that video signal is sent on proper way. What happen later and why this signal is not transformed correctly is matter of this box.
Which box do you use?
In my opinion you should contact manufacturer of this box and their support. They should know how it works and how to fix this.
Generally speaking, Toshiba has nothing to do with this problem.

List view error "Filter Value is not in a supported date format"

I've column "Name = Order Status","Type = Calculated" & Data Type = "Date and Time". I've given this Condition in the formula:- =IF(NOT([PO Date]=0),"ORDERED","NOT ORDERED"). I'm trying to create view
for this column but its getting error while create the view "Filter Value is not in a supported date format".
Same error I'm getting for column "Name = Status","Type = Calculated" & Data Type = "Number". I've given this Condition in the formula:- =IF([PO Date]="","",IF(NOT([Balance Qty]=0),"OPEN","CLOSED"))

Can you check data type returned for your calculated column 'Balance Qty'?
Try to set it as Number. It may help you.

Supported file format for MS translation via API call

I am evaluating MS Translator APIs and I have a couple of questions.
(1) What kind of file formats does MS Translator supports?
(2) Is there any code sample to translate the file(instead of just the string text) by calling the API?

(1) The supported text formats are plain text and HTML.
(2) Such a sample is not part of our provided documentation. The leading TM tools which offer integration with the Microsoft Translator service offer a variety of file format conversions.

Apple TV supported movie format

I just got a Apple TV, and I would like to convert my personal DV movie to APple TV. How I can do that, which format I suppose to use. I got iTurn but it seems that MPG is not support for Apple TV

Apple TV is quite strict about the supported video formats.
From the Apple technical specifications:
Video formats supported
* H.264 and protected H.264 (from iTunes Store): Up to 5 Mbps, Progressive Main Profile (CAVLC) with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps (maximum resolution: 1280 by 720 pixels at 24 fps, 960 by 540 pixels at 30 fps) in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
* iTunes Store purchased video: 320 by 240 pixels or 640 by 480 pixels
* MPEG-4: Up to 3 Mbps, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps (maximum resolution: 720 by 432 pixels at 30 fps) in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
(Supposed 4GB file size limit too)
Audio formats supported
* AAC (16 to 320 Kbps); protected AAC (from iTunes Store); MP3 (16 to 320 Kbps); MP3 VBR; Apple Lossless; AIFF; WAV
Photos formats supported
* JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF, PNG
There may well be other Windows apps you could use, but a good place to start might be using the free video converter MPEG Streamclip which has Windows and Mac versions.

Open your DV file (assuming you've stored it somewhere on your hard drive), then using either the Export to Quicktime or Export to MP4, choose the appropriate codec/bit rate, and let it do the conversion, which may take a while...
If converting MPEG2 files this program needs a special Quicktime plugin (or a freeware alternative) - see the Streamclip web page for details.
BTW an imported video might show up and play in iTunes, but that in itself does not guarantee you can play it on the aTV unless it adheres to the format specs above - YMMV a bit, but it's often best to convert short clips to test out different bit rates when encoding to see what quality level you're personally happy with - h264rates of 1500 Mbps or above seem to work pretty well, but are slower to encode (on my Mac anyway) than MP4 files. Personally I'm not sure that 2-pass encoding is essential, and worth the extra encoding time for me - again YMMV and will probably depend on how much stuff you want to convert and how quickly you want to do it.
AppleTV is certainly capable of playing other formats (some people have dismantled it and modified the software), but this would not be for the average user and would certainly invalidate the warranty - no reason why apple could not offer additional codec support in a future software update, but currently it's doubtful that they will.

I'm moving from the States to France, and I'm wondering of the dvd drive supports PAL formatted dvds. If not, is there an easy, user-friendly way to convert from PAL to NTSC?

The entertainment industry mafia does not allow commercial DVDs to be "region free". However, a so called "Region 0" DVD can play anywhere, as is the case for most music DVDs. Note also that [the VLC player|http://www.videolan.org> can let you play most, if not all, DVD's directly on your Mac regardless of the region and without causing region changes. It also lets you play video/audio files in a great variety of formats.

Supported date formats for sorting

Can someone point me to a document describing the supported
date formats for sorting? I mean, how should I format a date column
in an XML dataset in order to have this column correctly sorted
using the Spry framework?

Thanks, what I have done for the moment as a temporary
solution is to use the two date formats and have them both inside
the one cell in the table (the column for the sortable date
yyyy-mm-dd). In my CSS I have created a style for the first date
that has it's visibility as hidden. That way it's sorting the Date1
but only Date2 is being shown to the users as the other cells have
more than one line of text it doesn't look too off centre.

Supported file formats in Photoshop CS6

I am getting all sorts of confusing formats, when I want to save in jpeg, it attaches de suffix .iff, if I want to place the jpeg suffix to a file, I have to save it as JPEG STEREO... If I choose from menu window IFF format, it affixes the .CIN name, so all in all it's screwed up as far as I can tell... and there is no way I have found to fix these. Please let me know what to do.
