Re: Z10 Bluetooth problem with handsfree since update to 10.1.0.273[ New ] Options

I'm using my TomTom GO930 for handsfree. I had a similar issue - Z10 wouldn't pair with it after the update. It was compounded by TomTom also releasing an update which I installed around the same time. So I didn't know which update to blame.
What fixed it for me was to reboot both devices (restart for Z10, reset for TomTom), clear the pairing on both Z10 (to TomTom) and TomTom (to Z10). Another reboot for both devices after clearing their pairings. Then proceeded to pair them again. It worked.
That was 2 days ago. I haven't had issues so far.

  • How to transfer contacts to car bluetooth kit

I did search and could not find.  If there is thread already I apologize.  I am trying to transfer contacts from N900 to Pioneer AVIC-X910BT car unit.  Paired Ok but could not transfer phonebook.  I tried to select from phone to send data via bluetooth to see if Pioneer unit popped up but no dice.  The Head unit stated send as vCard from phone to the head unit but could not figure out how to do this.  I guess this would be sending contact information one at a time but really do not know.  Has anyone been successful or is this not support at present?
Thanks for reading my sad story.

    Solved!

Just wanted to report issue resolved.  Kind person on maemo.org suggested using Petrovich to transfer files after exporting them to folder.  Sent via bluetooth without a problem.

  • Connecting music through car bluetooth kit

I can successfully conect my iPhone to my car using a blueooth car kit (Volvo). This is fine for telephone calls and is marvelous. My problem is how do I connect the ipod function and hear my music through the car audio system. Is it something I need to do to the iPhone or to the bluetooth car kit. There is no obvious connection and the car kit gives no advice in the hand book so I am worried that it may not be possible. Any successful experiences and if so, what do I need to do?

    Hi,
In our Volvo V50 Edition II (Netherlands, 2008) we have the iPod connector option installed and it works great with my iPhone and iPod Nano (3rd gen). It's well worth the price and you can control your iPhone through the steering wheel and/or the audio system. You can browse through songs, folders, artists and playlists.
The bluetooth carkit is a Motorola IHF1000 (at least I think it is) which mutes the audio when calls are made.
With the Volvo iPod connector you will get an iPod connector and also an USB connector, the last one for connecting USB memory sticks with your favorite MP3's.

  • How can I get Siri to respond on a car bluetooth

    Version:1.0StartHTML:0000000149EndHTML:0000001649StartFragment:0000000199EndFrag ment:0000001615StartSelection:0000000199EndSelection:0000001615
I have an iPhone 4s where the BlueTooth is paired to two cars. They act somewhat differently and I was wondering if anyone knows why or how to correct.
First car has an aftermarket Parrot v5.10c device. It has a main button, and red and green side buttons. After the phone pairs, if I press the main button, Siri immediately responds from the iPhone and I can talk to her.
Second car is a 2011 Toyota with factory “Car MultiMedia” BT. If I press the main or off hook buttons, I get the car’s BT lady and I have to physically press the button on the iPhone to get to talk to Siri. In this case, I don’t have access to the phone’s directory or other features unless I manually engage Siri.
Ideally I’d like the Toyota BT to work like the Parrot and also go straight to Siri without having to touch the phone. Any ideas?

I don't think Siri support for auto Bluetooth is official yet. It sort works in mine, a Fiat 500, but I have to use the home button on my iPhone to enable Siri, the voice command button on my steering wheel doesn't do it. I would say keep checking the Siri/iPhone page on apple.com for info on when auto kits will be supported.

  • Playing music via car bluetooth

I have a Mecedes Benz GLK250, my iphone 5s connects to the bluetooth and i'm able to make calls. However, it cannot play music via the bluetooth. Is there anything I can do?

    Hey MacSociety,
    This will not work.
The iPhone supports bluetooth headsets and hands free car kits which allow you to make calls over bluetooth. It does not support stereo over bluetooth(A2DP.)
This article will show you how to pair your iPhone with most cars.

  • Argos bluetooth Kit N96

I live in the UK and I have what is known as an Argos Bluetooth kit (no connection with the Argos store) fitted to my Mercedes as an aftermarket kit.
I can dial numbers from my navigation screen and it connects to my old Nokia 6600 phone but won't download the phonebook. It downloads the phone book from my Sony Ericsson T630.
Both phones are old and I wish to upgrade to a Nokia N96 or Sony Ericsson C905. The kit does or won't store the phon numbers so I guess it downloads it afresh with each connection
Has anyone any experience with the Argos kit. I wish to upgrade to a modern phone that will download the phone book for ease of use. It is a nuisance to keep dialing individual numbers when its all stored on the card and phone.
    Thanks.
    Vibesg

    Hi vibesg
Unfortunately there wasn't much demand for Argos Bluetooth kit in UK as American spec. cars had all the phone preparation present which wasn't the case in UK and there is hardly any mention on mbclub.co.uk of such installations.
I don't think that N96 has Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) in it's Bluetooth stack so my gut feeling here is that you might have more success with a Sony Ericcson device.
Sorry that I can't be more help with your issue.

  • TS1398 Update iPhone 4s to 6.1.3 (10B329) now I can't connect to any wifi networks at home or at work and all car Bluetooth systems will not connect either. Help! Extremely annoyed at apple for putting out software that causes such mayhem.

My iPhone 4s has been update as I said in subject bar.. Now can't connect to any of my cars Bluetooth systems. Also even more frustratingly can't connect to any wifi networks at home or work!!
How can apple put out such an update that causes so much grief and inconvenience to hundreds of people. Not to mention risking lives with Bluetooth kits not working...outraged!!!!!!

First, grow up.  Just because YOUR phone isn't working, doesn't mean Apple put out bad software.  I've not had any difficulty, nor has anyone else I know.  And just how is Apple risking lives with Bluetooth kits not working?  It's YOUR decision to talk on the phone or text and drive.  Not Apple's.
We're users here, volunteering our time to help others.  Posts like yours, which are whiny and ranting, simply means we're likely to ignore you and not provide you with any help.  Not to mention, it makes you look absolutely foolish.
Further making you look foolish is the fact that you haven't even asked a technical support question, nor have you provided anyone here with any troubleshooting steps you might have taken, including those recommended in the user guide.
    Good luck getting help.

  • IPhone 4s No Longer connects to Car Bluetooth after iOS 7.1 Update

My iPhone 4s has been paired to our 2006 Acura TL hands free link (Bluetooth) and working flawlessly for more than a year.  After the iOS 7.1 update installed on my iPhone the connection has been lost and the car's Bluetooth does not recognize, and will not pair with my iPhone anymore!  I noticed there were two back-to-back updates for iOS7.  The first one caused intermittent interruptions and lost connections with the iPhone.  The second update completely destroyed the connection between the car bluetooth and the iPhone.  Any ideas on how to correct this problem would certainly be appreciated.  Thanks!

    Hello algee1,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with pairing your iPhone with your Acura.
In my experience, when updates are released for iOS devices, compatible devices release an update to maintain compatibility.  Step 2 from the article below recommends checking with the manufacturer of your car stereo to see if there is a firmware update available for your car stereo:
    2. Update software and firmware if necessary
Verify that both your car stereo and your device have the latest software versions. Contact the manufacturer to see if any updates are available. If your device does not have the latest version of the iOS, update to the latest software version.
I recommend reviewing the full article here for additional troubleshooting steps:
    iOS: Troubleshooting car stereo connections
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3581
I also recommend these steps if the issue persists after following all the steps in the previous article:
Unable to find nearby Bluetooth accessories
If a pairing record already exists, the device does not appear as discoverable. Try to connect the device using that pairing record.
If you are unable to connect using the existing pairing record, delete the record and pair again.
Ensure that the firmware or software on the Bluetooth accessory is up to date.
Ensure that the Bluetooth accessory is charged or connected to power.
Verify that the Bluetooth accessory is using a profile that works with the iOS device.
Turn off both the iOS device and the Bluetooth accessory, then turn both devices on again.
If the issue persists, test Bluetooth with another device or consult the manufacturer's documentation.

I recently updated my iPhone to the new iOS and it no longer works with my inbuilt car bluetooth. Is it possible to restore to my previous iOS system?

Delete the pairing and then re-pair the devices.
There are no supported methods to downgrade the iOS.

  • IOS 8.1.2 car bluetooth connection

I have lost the Bluetooth connectivity in my 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe since I updated my phone to iOS 8.1.2.  I have tried to reset car Bluetooth features as well as on my phone.  Nothing seems to work.  Is anyone else having issues and are there any solutions?
    tx

Similar to VroomVroom:  I have iphone 5s, was on iOS7, went to iOS 8.1.2, and I didn't notice that I had lost a specific bluetooth connection: Garmin Smartlink - Live Traffic App.  The Garmin Smartlink uses bluetooth to connect to the aftermarket Kenwood DNX891HD I have in my car, this comes with a Navigation GPS included.  The Garmin Smartlink app (Live Traffic) provides immediate traffic updates if your city is covered, and my city Cincinati OH is covered.  This was all working fine before I upgraded the iOS on the iphone 5S.  I read another article related to "carkit" connections between iphones and car stereos (for both NAV and also hands-free) - here is the key point and my theory: Only ONE bluetooth connection can be supported at a time.  In my case - the hands-free telephone (thru car microphone and car stereo speakers) works fine, and I believe this is also "shared" by Pandora App (from iphone to Kenwood).  So, my theory is the iphone will not connect to the Kenwood for the Nav, since it is already connected to the Kenwood for the audio (Pandora and hands-free, I think these two "share" the same bluetooth connection, and I think the Smartlink connection is separate).  I messed around this morning in the parking lot at work, and my attempts to "forget" and "pair" the iphone and Kenwood would continously start playing Pandora, but the Smartlink still will not connect (when it dis work, I would see a green circle with two cars on my Nav map screen, indicating the smartlink connection and also status of the traffic).  My next test this afternoon will be to delete Pandora app on the phone, try forget / pair again and see if I can get Smartlink to work.  If this works, I'll reinstall Pandora App and try to get it back as well.  My past 24 hours of skimming articles (don't ya love the internet !) seems to indicate that I am not the only person with bluetooth problems due to the iOS 8.1.2 update....hey Apple...where's 8.1.3 to fix this ?

  • Reliable car Bluetooth with FM transmitter ..

    Hello,
I am using voice dialing on my Droid X and it works just fine.
I wanted to buy a good car Bluetooth with FM transmitter and found that Satechi car kit is one of the best. Actually it provides decent quality of sound but it has extremely poor voice recognition feature i.e.. very often it fails to recognize commands and etc and I'm going to return it back.
Could  someone recommend me one reliable car Bluetooth with FM transmission for my Droid X which has could voice recognition feature?
    Thanks.

I do not suggect you use a FM reciever for this because I have noticed to much interferance, If you have a inout jack on your unit (RCA or Headphone) I sugest using a Jabra Clipper Bluetooth Stereo Headset (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=accessoryDetails&archetypeId=12253&accessoryId=46299) because the sound qualith is actually stero not anolag mono signal like the FM transmitter... My device automatically connects when I get in car and the device has a built in mic for hands free use.
But if you perfer a FM Transmitter you can use a Jabra Cruiser In-Car Bluetooth Speakerphone (http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=accessoryDetails&archetypeId=11962&accessoryId=44787) and just allow it to use the speaker on device because sound quality is clearer and lest distortion...  It has a FM Transmitter built in but I really was not impressed with Transmitter quailty, I went through every radio channel hoping to get a better outcome but I had no luck and bought the Jabra Clipper Bluetooth Stereo Unit and been happy since.

  • HT2693 Having issues with siri thru my nolan ncom bluetooth kit 2.1

I am having issues with siri thru my nolan ncom bluetooth kit 2.1. It allow me to connect to siri, but siri never responds.  I hear the 2 beeps, i say what I need siri to do , but the light around the microphone continues to spin and siri usually times out. Help!

I don't think there is anything exotic about the 3G's bluetooth system so that the BMW shouldn't see the contact list. It saw the contact list in my first generation phone, so I'm still puzzled why it doesn't see the contacts in the 3G. I have a query in with BMW to find out why it wouldn't see the list when the first generation phone worked fine. Perhaps there is some setting in the iDrive I'm missing. It's my wife's car so I don't see it often enough to spend the time to dig deeper.

  • Where do I find help contecting my IPhone 4 to my cars bluetooth hands free system?

Where do I find help contecting my IPhone 4 to my cars bluetooth hands free system?

Try the owner's manual or your dealer. Some in car systems have updates available to support iOS 4.
It might be hlepful if you gave us a little more information, like what kind of car, what, exactly, you've done to try to get it working and what the problem you're having is.
Some cars have systems that will do things like read you text messages and e-mail. Those features are NOT compatible with the iPhone.
