Supported Memory on MS - 9652 Speedster

Hi Guys
I'm looking at some new memory for my system however on MSI's "revised" OVL
None of the 5300, 2 Gb module part #'s come up good on the corresponding
manufacturers websites soooo I'm havin a tough time trying to determine
what will work and what won't?
What I (we) do know -
1 Registered is necessary
2 ECC is recommended
3 PC2 - 4200(533), 5300(667), and 6400(800) works but 6400 should be underclocked
when used with lower clocked CPU's
4 The QVL lists modules up to 4Gb @ 5300 speeds
What I don't know -
1 How does Ranking affect things (EG:1 rank x 8, 2 rank x 4, 2 rank x 8)?
2 Are any Rank configurations not compatible?
Thanks in advance

OK, I found some interesting info:   http://www.moynetworks.com/knowledgebase/SinglevsDualRAM.pdf
It dives pretty deep - I'm gonna start reading right now!
Edit: Looks like a "Rank" is a 64 bit wide DRAM set so:
A 1 Gb single Rank stick would have all 1 Gb accessible "full time" to the memory controller
A 2 Gb dual Rank stick would have 1 Gb accessible to the memory controller at any given time -
each Rank would carry 1 Gb and the chip select (in the memory controller?) has to "shuttle" between them
Hmmmmmmm
I wonder on a 2Gb stick how much performance loss there would be with 2 Rank over single Rank?
Also are there possibly any compatibility issues?
Thanks to any with advice!

i have a mac mini mid 2011, this device have; 2,3GHz and 2 Gb Memmory.I want to upgrade the memory and i need the list of supported memory modules. i am from turkey.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
The Mid 2011 Mac mini supports 8 GB of memory officially, but you can install up to 16 GB of RAM, so you can use 2, 4 and 8 GB modules. You can buy more RAM from OWC or Crucial.
If you are looking for memory at a local shop, make sure you buy 1333 MHz DDR3 memory. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4432?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

  • T430 - maximum supported memory size?

Hello Everyone! I got the the thinkpad t430 with lenovo 23511A8 motherboard, also i have 4GB ram...what is the maximum supported memory ram size ? thx..

You should be able to use 2 sticks of 8GB RAM for a total of 16GB.

  • Did MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) support memory: 8GB 1333MHz DDR3

    Did MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) support memory: 8GB 1333MHz DDR3??

The correct RAM specifications for your 2010 MBP are:  204-pin PC3-8500 (1066 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM.
What you quote may or may not work, and if it does seem to work, it may not work correctly.  For one to deviate from the correct specifications often leads to unnecessary complications.  One only has to explore many posts on this subject on this forum.
Best places to get RAM for your MBP are from OWC or Crucial.
Note, I have a 2010 MBP and I have made said upgrade.
    Ciao.

  • Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory

Hi! I have a HP mini 210-1000 and it has a 1gb of RAM.
Ofcourse having this much limited of RAM you'll certainly lose your patience.
Thats why I wanted to upgrade it. According to some answers here that I can upgrade it till 2gb, then I've read about using this site -- www.crucial.com to know all the requirements of the memory to be installed, which I tried then and Im not sure what's the statement is talking about-- "Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory" does this means that I can't upgrade my RAM?
Your replies would be highly appreciated. thanks

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your model.
Memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1 on page 1.

You remove the 1 GB memory module and replace it with a 2 GB PC2-5300 memory module.

  • MSI B75IA-E33 supported memory

I'm looking for some memory kits to be used with my MSI B75IA-E33. I have my eyes on:
    G.Skill 1.35v F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO
    Corsair 1.35v CML8GX3M2A1600C9W
    Kingston 1.35v KHX1600C9D3LK2/8GX
    Kingston 1.35v KHX1866C9D3LK2/4GX
All of those are low voltage variants. Can they be used flawlessly with the B75IA-E33?
I have checked the supported memory list, and they are not listed (msi.com/file/test_report/TR10_2673.pdf).
However, a low voltage G.Skill Sniper 1.25v F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR2 is listed and supported.

    Quote
    1. Is the default voltage normal? Because it's constantly changing between 1.472 V and 1.488 V (just those 2 numbers, nothing in between).
    This isn't a problem.
    Quote
    2. How can I set it to the advertised 1.35 V? I have checked the BIOS and found out that I can change the Voltage to 1.35 V, but I'm not sure that's all that has to be done. Do I have to adjust the frequency as well?
Enable XMP in bios to get it to run at the advertised 1600.
You can set the voltage in the OC section of bios. DRAMV: 1.35

  • Does apple make an adapter to support memory stick

Does apple make an adapter that will support memory stick

The camera connection kit will allow you to plug in a memory stick, but you can't do anything with it. The only protocols the iPad supports is the reading of photos or videos off a card/memory stick (and I've literally had a 50/50 success rate getting memory sticks that work, most trigger the 'needs too much power' warning and won't function)
There are some gadgets like the iDrive or iFlash or Seagate's GoFlex, but they have limited function and expandability. Generally, the memory you have is the memory you have and it's not expandable.

  • Hyperion MDM OS support memory limitation

    Hi ,
I want to know that is Hyperion MDM is contrained by Operating System to support no more than 2 GB of memory?
Does it true for DRM 9.3.2 and Version 11 also?
If yes...Can it still support more than 80,000 member data into a single verion of DRM hierarchies?
Please help me to get answers of this problems.
    Thanks

There is a new 64 bit version of DRM coming mid year that should do away with many of the memory issues. You should contact your ORACLE rep for a proper roadmap.
Can you elaborate a bit on what you will be doing that you anticipate that volume. I have been involved in many implementations and I know that right now there are at least 3 Oracle customers that have over 1M and are running DRM successfully.

  • ProBook 4540s - Maximum Supported Memory ?

I will buy a ProBook 4540s (Intel i5) very soon.
At a lot of places on the Internet, it had been mentioned that it supports upto 8GB DDR3 RAM. But, on a details page at HP site, it had been mentioned as "16GB". So, I'm a bit confused here, though I guess that it might be 8GB. I want to know about this for sure.
    Thanks

  • Supported memory stick for W510

Would the latest memory stick ie Lenovo 8GB PC3-12800 DDR3 SODIMM Memory (1600MHz)  would be supported by my laptop which is W510. I already have 2GB two dims and 4GB two dims installed. I want to have 16gb full. I am ok to go for 8GB two dims.
    Pls. advise.
    thanks

    Hi Bas,
Thank you for your answer   Don't worry, I won't touch the Bios , I wouldn't like to ruin a mobo which is not mine
I'll get then 2x512 MB DDR 333mhz, I also think that if the max FSB is 333mhz the memory should not exceed it. At least I think that my buddy will notice a significant peformance improvement with 1GB compared to 256MB DDR
    Kind regards,
    Koiishi

  • Support for Memory Sticks

Does anyone know if there are plans to have iTunes support Memory Sticks as devices? It is a pain to drag files to the memory stick for use in my car. It would be great if iTunes would recognize the stick as a device so that I can build playlists in iTunes and put them on the stick.

Apple has announced no such plans. iTunes is designed to sync Apple devices only.
However, it is relatively easy to drag files from an iTunes playlist to an open folder representing the memory stick, which creates copies on the memory stick.

  • Can i upgrade my memory for my hp dv7-6c60us laptop to 16G?

i was just wondering if i can upgrade my ramm to 8g-16g ... if its even possible..

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03099448.pdf
Chapter one page 5 gives the supported memory allowances.
Because you have an Intel based chipset and processor you can install 2 x 8 GB of memory for a total of 16 GB.
Had you had an AMD based chipset and processor, the maximum would have been limited to 8 GB.

  • MSI 785GM-E51 and memory modules problems

Could anyone help me with one problem. I have motherboard MSI 785GM-E51 and 4 memory modules GOODRAM GR 1333D364L9/2G. But when I'm inserting ALL modules my system not starting (even POST procedure). So working variants - when I'm inserting:
    - one module in first (boot) slot
    or
    - they inserted in first and third memory slots
    Any ideas?

It is not motherboard problem, but processor itself - I have AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3,4 Ghz Core Revision C2 and this revision (according to the article: http://www.fcenter.ru/online.shtml?articles/hardware/processors/27650#02) has problems with support memory modules DDR3-1333 Mhz more than 2 modules. Conclusion - either adjust BIOS settings concerning memory timings and memory controller voltage or replace this kind of processor with the same type but with core revision C3

  • Hp officejet pro l7590 with blinking memory card error message

My all-in-one printer constantly blinks the yellow exclamation point and has the message Memory Card Error for no apparent reason.  I have not used a memory card.  It just decided to show the message and blink.  I turned it off and on again, with no change.  How do I make it stop?

Experiencing the same problem, so did some troubleshooting of my own.  I am using Windows 7; however, the OS should not make a difference since this is the built-in card reader which can be used without a computer being connected.  Specifically, I was trying to read an SD card to make a proof sheet.
I knew I had been able to read an older Compact Flash card, so tried that and was successful.  Then I tried an older SD card that is only 128MB -- no problem.  A closer look at the card causing the "Memory Card Error" message revealed that it is a 4 GB SD HC card.  The printer documentation includes Secure Digital in the list of supported memory cards, but not the newer variants.
Clearly, the error message is caused by attempting to read a non-supported memory card.

  • What is the maximum amount of memory my laptop can have?

I have a HP Pavillion DV6-7028tx with WIndows Home Premium installed, and I was wondering how much memory i can upgrade to?
The hp website says that 8gb is the maximum that it can handle, but the Corsair system scanner says that it should be able to hold a total of 16gb.
I've read that the maximum memory home premium can have is 8gb, so does that mean that if I upgrade to proffesional, I will be able to have 16gb?
Also, if I upgrade the memory myself, will it void my warranty?
    This question was solved.

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your PC.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03216834.pdf
Supported memory can be found in chapter one, page four.
The specs page shows 8 GB but that is contradicted by the manual. Plus you got confirmation from the corsair scanner that can run 16 GB in your machine.
What does it say about the FSB speed?  The manual states you can run PC3-1600 (PC3-12800).

W7 Home Premium will recognize up to 16 GB of memory so you do not have to upgrade the OS. Only beyond 16 GB would you need to go to W7 Pro.
You will not void the warranty if you read the service manual and follow the procedures for installing the memory, unless of course you fat finger something and physically damage the hardware.
The memory you install will not be covered under HP's warranty of course, but most quality memory carries its own lifetime warranty.
