Suppress a field using FileContentConversion
Hi,
I am using File Content Conversion in the Receiver Adapter to format a file to Fixed Length. I wanted to suppress a particular field in the output file. Is there any parameter where I can suppress a field.

You can use
fixedLengthTooShortHandling Cut
fieldFixedLengths 0

Suppress embedded field blank lines in Crystal Reports XI is not working
Hi,
We have a text box in a Crytal Reports XI report which has address information in it as follows:
These are individual fields from the database. We check the "suppress embedded field blank lines" option for the text box and preview it in the designer and the suppression works as expected in that when the unit field is blank the whole address line isn't suppressed. However when we run this report using the Report Viewer control in a VB.NET 2005 application the whole address line is suppressed when the unit field is blank.
This appears to be a bug in the suppression logic when the Report Viewer is used to view a report. While yes we can embed a formula into the address line this adds extra maintenance and confusion which is not necessary as it works as expected in the report designer.
I have seen others which are having a similiar issue and the only suggestions are to create your own suppression using formulas, etc. which is only a bandaid and is not the best solution as the suppression works as stated in the designer but not in the viewer embedded in an application. Please indicate if this is a known bug and if this issue has been addressed and fixed in a new merge module.
We are running Crystal XI 11.5.0.313 for the report designer and have deployed the needed dlls to run the reports with our application using the CrystalReports11_5_NET_2005.msm merge module.

I am using Crystal Reports 2008 v1
Using VB code, I am attempting to modify a Crystal Report before exporting it into a PDF format and then displaying it on the Web.
My problem is that I am unable to access the formula used to dynamically suppress a field.
The following code is working:

I can not find any reference to the actual suppression formula in the SDK help file.
Note, the EnableSuppress can be set to True for False, but if there is a formula for dynamic suppression, the True or False value is overwritten. The results of the formula determine the suppression.
Is there a way to reference this formula. I know that I can put on in using the Crystal Report Designer software, I need to modify this formula using VB code and the SDK.Hello, Mark;
If you are using the ReportDocument object you do not have access to the Conditional Suppression formula. You can get around it by using a formula field in the report for the supression and then using the FormulaField code to change it at runtime.
If you want to change the supression condition directly at runtime you need to use RAS and the ReportClientDocument.

To suppress certain fields based on radiobutton selection
hi experts,
I am having the requirement that on selection of presentation server(radio button) i need to suppress some fields like file path and name in application server(radio button) which are mandatory when application server is selected.
Now my problem is if I leave the fields in application server blank and select presentation server then it is asking to fill in all required fields.

Remove the obligatory extension in the selection-screen. Then the mandatory check will not be done when you select the radio-button.
To handle the mandatory check of the path and file, do the checking in the event 'AT SELECTION-SCREEN'

Suppress NetPrice field for POS created with info records

What is the BADI used for Suppressing NetPrice Field for POS created with Inforecords(ME21n and ME22N).
I dont find any user exit for this, so please can anyone say me what is the Badi used to meet the requirement.

Suppressing in the sense, no changes should be made to net price field.
The netprice should be suppressed only when po is a Production Po(Identified by account assignemnet Cateogery 'P') and material has an inforecord.
for other orders(overhead/nonbillable) using a material has an existing inforecord , the netprice field should not be suppressed.

Please tell me how passing changed extended fields using ALE-IDOC to receiving system can be achieved. Is it possible by Chnage pointer concept.Do i need to do some coading after data enters into receiving system as it is required while creating the entries in database table.
For ex. in matmas05 extended for classification and inspection view and then created using 'CREATION'
related bapi.Do i also need to incorporate the changes by change related bapi or ir can be handled by change pointer concept.

=> Looks like you have extended standard IDOC here. so you need to find User Exit or BADI for the Push program to populate the additional fields. Yes, it is possible thru change pointers as well.

I could not find any function for retrieving the value for precision and scale for the decimal field.
Though I am able to retrieve the field value as a decimal number and get the required information from the structure, I think it is not the right way. Because, what will happen if the data for field is not available in the table?
