Suppress header on Page 1?

Hello-
How do I suppress the header on the first page of a document? I tried simply deleting the text from the header on page 1, but then it deleted the page header on all the subsequent pages. In the old days, you could just select "Different First Page", but I don't see an option for doing that. Thanks.

Disregard. I found the solution
Click View>Show Layout
Then click the Inspector>Layout>Section tab>Configuration>First Page is different

I have a report that has the following sections.
GH1
GH2a
GH2b - has a sub report
GH2c - has another sub report
GH3
GH4
GH5
details - suppressed
GF5 - suppressed
GF4 - suppressed
GF3 - suppressed
GF2 - suppressed
GF1 - suppressed
The report works fine wehn I run it using Crystal Designer.I am using CR version 9.2.2.693.
When I try to load the report in my application, I get the following error.

Page Header plus Page Footer is too large for the page.Error in File rptName.rpt:
Page header or footer longer than a page.
OK
There are no 'suppress blank sections' option set in the sections where the sub-Reports are.
I also tried setting the No Default Printer option.
The report gets loaded from the application only when I set 'New Page after' in the sections where there are sub-Reports.
I do not want to do this; Is there a workaround?

We have several reports that were written in Crystal 7 (I think) and worked in Crystal 9 and X1R2 but now give the above error. We have tried jigging the report in line with the various suggestions but at best can get them to run through successfully with one lot of data and then fail on the second or subsequent pages when you vary the data or report format even slightly. We can report on every bit of data separately or in various combinations but not in others. Changing the bottom page margin by 0.01 cm can cause it to fail on page 7 instead of page 530 (for example). We certainly do not have large page headers (just over 2cm) or page footers (about 0.3cm). We do have some subreports in the details section but have used 'fit to section', added 'keep together', removed u2018keep togetheru2019 from just about everything we can (in desperation) but to no avail. We cannot see a pattern to what is happening. It would be encouraging to know that someone is actually working on this fault.

when we selecting pieview and print after entering paramter it's showing error: page header plus page footer too large for the page. error in File.rpt page header or page footer loanger than page. and it's not showing print layout format if i connect another printer it's showing layout designe. and some times it's showing letter formate and if i give print it's taking default lamdscape but we setup defual setup for printer 10*12 inches in particular printer.please guide me how we can solve this issues.

This is a really hard post to read. See if you can take a bit of time to reword it, but one thing I do understand is that you are getting this error:
page header plus page footer too large for the page.
Typically, you can trust that if the error is thrown, it is true. E.g.; this is not one of those errors that says one thing, and means another. I suspect that you have some field(s) in the header(s) that grow, depending on the data. If there is too much data or the data is too long ( a text for example), the error will be thrown. To resolve this, see if placing the field(s) into a group footer / header will help.

Problem: add a picture to a header in Pages 5.2

Hello!
Does anyone know how to add a picrure to header in Pages 5.2?
It was easy do do it in previous Pages 4.2 - just Paste and Edit:
Now it pastes only picture's name:
Apple Support says that Pages 4.2 doesn't work on Maverics so I can't work in previous version (it worked before I reinstall OS because of my iMac starts to work very slowly).
And I see I can't edit pictures in Tables in Pages 5.2 as I could in 4.2(((

All the previous versions of Pages work fine in Mavericks.

if you have not yet solved this on your own, here is my solution: use a format type that has 60000 lines per page for your spool output device.
It all depends on the format type that was used for creating the spool output.
By default (in our system), we have 65 lines per page. And after each page the column headings of the ALV will appear.
What i did:
create a new format type via transaction SPAD->full administration->device types->format types (copy an existing one)
change"Number of Rows" to 60000 or something applicable
edit the device type of your output device (e.g. LOCL) to contain the newly created format type (via SPAD; Button "Formats" in device type maintenance).
That's it! Be sure to use this format type for your output device in the "Background Print Parameters" window (-> Button "Properties").

All other parameters you discussed before didn't do it. All ALV-Settings will be overwritten by the output device settings and its print properties.

Why Do Pages Headers Go Away on a Two Page Document When I select No Header for Page One

MacBook Pro 15 Retina, Mid 2014 Chassis, Yosemite 10.10
In the PAGES application. I am writing a simple business letter I copied from a prior letter. The letter is two pages long. I add a header in the second page and it appears on the first page as well. I correct the problem, and unselect the box that indicates I want the same header on all pages. The header goes away on page one and on page two.
I cannot access a header for page two. It is as gone as gone can be.
I assume there is at least some amount of QA on this stuff, or do the customers do all of that?

I want to make sure I understand.
So I want to write a simple business letter, say to you. All standard settings, profile for a business letter.
I write the first page, and I happen to go one paragraph into the second page. At the upper right hand corner of the second page I "mouse over" the header, select the right side box, and enter To Peter, Page Two. Then I navigate to Document Inspector, under headers and footers, I select "Hide on First Page of Section." But that is not right? Because it doesn't solve my problem?
Just to make sure I understand, even though I am in the second page of the section, selecting the option will make the page headers go away for page one and page two? Forgive me I appreciate your help and am not blaming you. Apple expects me to not only go through the search to find this setting as it does not default, but Apple also wants me to create a second section for the second page, and then enter the header, then navigate to Documents Inspector and then select "Hide on First Page of Section?"
By the time I go through all of that, then save and print the two business pages, I then create an envelope in a new Pages document. Give it a name, enter your address, and then print, and save the envelope.

There is no HTML Header on Page Zero. The equivalent would be to use the page template.
It's also possible to place JavaScript in HTML regions on Page Zero, but I wouldn't consider this a good practice. JavaScript is better kept in external files and referenced using the SRC attribute.

Suppress Top-of-page

Hello,
I want to suppress top-of-page for the first page.
I only want top-of-page from the second page.
The fisrt page contains just some info about the list,.
The second page is where the actual list starts.
How do I trigger the top-of-page only from the second page.
My second page contains the column names. I want these to be non scrollable. Thats why want to give these column names in top-pf-page.

How to print Group Header on page break in a subreport - CR XI

I have a subreport that has 3 groups with only one group that has a heading. When the report prints and a subreport group is split between two pages (on a page break) I would like the group heading to also print again at the top of the page- even with the word "continued..." also. Right now only the main report page header prints. How can I do this since there is no page header in a subreport?

Is there any way to test during detail processing time to see if a page break is occuring? If so I could print out a fake header on the detail line, suppressing it only if the page breaks. That is the only thing I can come up with to solve the issue.
I am surprised the is not an option to reprint the group header on a page break. That seems like a needed option and that is the standard in Foxpro reporting - there is a checkbox option to cover this scenario.
A coworker did find a workaround to add a psudo page header to a subreport so if I can add that and put my group info in there it will also work. I have not looked at the code yet though.
I have another issue I am working on so this one might take a while to get back to.

How to Suppress Header and footer.

I have master-Detail report. Report prints One master and all detail records on a page. If detail records are more than to fit on one page, report prints master gaian on next page followed by detail records. For a master record If there are no detail records, I supress the master record also using format trigger.
My problem is how to suppress the Header & Footer information that has to be printed on each page otherwise. When I suppress printing of master, All I get is Page header and footer. This happens only to the master records that fall in between. The pages related to last master records are not printed.
How can I suppress printing of header and footer on blank pages.

As santa has suggested, I am already suppressing the printing of master record and its column headings based on the count of number of deatil records. If count of detail records = 0, I am suppressing master record.
The problem is with Report header (TITLE etc.) and footer. I have to print TITLE and FOOTER on each an very page. So I have put these into Margins. The Count of master records at the report level, can be used to suppress the master records column headings and also TITLE and FOOTER. So if there is no master records, report does not print anything and that is fine.
Problem comes when there are some master records with "No" detail records. Something like:

M8
My report now produces pages for M1, M2 and blank data area (with Title and Footer) for M3, M4 and the M5. It suppresses pages for M6, M7, M8 etc. So if a master record has no detail records, but happens to be the last records that suppresses the TITLE and footer also.
Any Ideas how to suppress TITLE/FOOTER for M3 & M4.

Fax template: I want no header on page 2

I've created a fax template with my name and contact info as the header and footer on page 1, but want the header and footer to not appear on any subsequent pages. How do I do this?

I don't think you need the section break. With the cursor in the body of the first page, check First page is different in the section tab of the layout inspector, then enter your header & footer info in the header & footer on the first page. Unlike other word processors I've used, Pages doesn't automatically suppress the headers & footers on the first page of a section. If you entered data in the header or footer on the first page, that will be displayed & suppressed on the remainder. To suppress it on the first page, the information must be entered on the second or later page.

Repeat Suppressed Value after Page Throw

I'm new to BI Publisher and have what I think is a simple problem that I can't solve and can't see a solution to in the forum so any help would be welcome.
I have a report which is essentially a simple, long table with three columns. The report is grouped by the first column, so that the value is suppressed after the first display. When the table breaks across a page the heading repeats fine, but I need to show the grouped value again on the first line. Is this possible?

Guys.
Remember that the columns header won't be printed only if the lines per account continues. I mean, the column header printing depends on the number of lines that are being printed.
If at the end of a previous page the list (for example the positions that belong to this account) still continues for an account, then in the next page the column header musn't be printed, just only continue printing the rest of the positions. As you notice this case would be found in any number of pages during the rest of the report.
I'm agree with all your solutions but this only functionin some cases for the first page.

How to suppress printing of pages with no data

Dear all,
My report consists of 3 distinct sub reports. The first two sub reports should be printed as portrait on A-4 sheet while the third one should be printed as landscape A-4 . I have put the first two sub reports layout in the main section with orientation as portrait while the third one is placed in trailer section with orientation as landscape. The printing of subreports 2 and 3 is conditional. There may be case when first two sub reports get printed while we do not have third report as there is no data in the database for the same. In this case , I am still getting a blank page corresponding to the third sub report in the final report. How do I suppress this?
