Suppress Other Sounds While Listening to iTunes

Anyone know how to stop bleeps and other sundry noises from browsers or other apps interfering with listening to music form iTunes?
Any suggestions welcome...

go system preferences > sound (or some such preference pane). see what kind of settings you can change and if that helps.

While listening to iTunes both through Apple TV or an old Airport Express the music intermittently cuts out. It plays through my MacBookPro uninterrupted. I'm running the latest Yosemite 10.10.2. Also everything is connected via a time capsule. Thought my Airport Express was dying but the Apple TV is new and the same thing happens.

Hi, I would like my voice memos to be under music in my ipod so that I can do other things while listening e.g. writing notes. When im connected to itunes it shows that my voice memos are now under music in my ipod but in the ipod itself theyre not there.

You can try syncing them to your computer. Then copy/move to a reular play list and then go to the Get Info for the memo and then to Options and chang the Media kind for Voice Memo to Music or another option depending upon where you want the old memos to go.

It sounds like your hard drive might be busted. That "?" you get means it can't detect the boot files it needs. The clicking noise you're getting is this "arm" piece that moves back and forth the radius of the drive as it spins to process data. But you also have an intel-based mac and there are some parts that need to be reset. The SMC manages the power in the system and the PRAM stores settings. They're very easy to reset yourself and it requires no tools. If those don't work, hold in command and r at the same time as soon as you turn it on. You'll boot into recovery mode and from there, select disk utility. Select "Macintosh HD" and look at the bottom of the window. It should look something like this
It should show how much storage (capacity) your hard drive has and how much is open (available). It should also say "/" for Mount Point. If it doesn't indicate any of these, your hard drive most likely failed. I would take it to apple just to diagnose the issue. If it's the hard drive, you should be able to replace it yourself, just make sure it's compatible with your model. I would suggest getting an SSD from www.crucialmemory.com. They're faster and stronger, making them more reliable since SSD stand for Solid State Drive so it has no moving parts.

Can I stop a screen saver kicking in while listening to iTunes 11?

Since updating to iTunes 11 my screen saver kicks in after a period of time (default setting). This is so annoying because before I updated, I used to have iTunes 10 running in full screen cover flow mode and this temporarily disabled my screen saver from starting while it was running in this mode.
Is there any way I can run iTunes 11 in the same way without having to mess around with my screen saver settings?
Why Apple decided to remove the cover flow feature in iTunes 11 is beyond comprehension and hope they reinstate it again soon.

Skipping/interference while listening to itunes on PC

Hi everyone, I'd appreciate some advice on this if possible.
When listening to music on itunes there doesn't seem to be a problem until I go and do something else, even something as simple as looking through the itunes store.
If I start using the internet or access the itunes store the songs start to skip and I'm not sure why as I didn't think mp3s do this!
Is this normal or is there something I can do to stop the skipping?

What you say makes sense but my PC has recently been upgraded. I don't particularly remember having a problem before the upgrade tbh.
Not sure if these are the specs you mean, this is all I know:

Cutting out while listening to iTunes Radio using Airport

Using iTunes 7.0.1radio connected to a 24kbps station (WUMB) via an Airport Extreme wireless to my Macbook then to an Airport express connected to stereo...it cuts out for a second every minute. Doesn't happen when listening to other stations or to my music library. Didn't happen with my iBook. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Western Digital 1TB My Book Pro Freezes while listening to iTunes.

MP3 collection is on the MyBook.
iTunes plays MP3s when all of a sudden, during a song, it halts playback and Finder with it (beachball).
Can't access Finder nor the mounted MyBook drive. Any kind of query on the MyBook (through Terminal or Disk Utility) at this point hangs the app that is querying. MyBook lights are on constantly.
Upon shutdown the system hangs at the blue screen forever until I do a hard shutdown with the MBP's power button and disconnect from FW800 port at which point drive turns off.
Upon restart it's fine until I go into iTunes again and hangs again (not at the same song). I am able to replicate this problem everytime.
Any suggestions?

Hey Rimcrazy, no my MBP is not going to sleep. The power settings are to set to Custom which leaves the MBP always on 24/7 pretty much. The problem is indeed repeatable but not at the same time. I've emailed WD about it and I have yet to receive answer. The MyBook is going to sleep when not active (normal) and the data seems to be intact after numerous hard shutdowns.

Songs ending early while listening from itunes match

itunes match songs are ending early. I have shuffled the tracks of a single album and the song is getting around 80-85% complete and then moving on to the next track. Was wondering if anyone else is seeing this behavior. Iphone 4s using itunes match with a catalog song from a windows 7 computer last night. The tracks are from an album in the apple store.

I'm curious, if you delete the songs from the computer and re-download them from the cloud, do you have the same issues on the computer as yoru iPhone?

How to fix screeching sounds when listening to music, and turning off ipad.

My ipad4 wifi is making screeching sounds while listening to music. Typing makes
scratchy sounds too. Happens when ipad is turned off.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

When I looked in the trash, I saw two things labled "iTunes library extras", and "iTunes library genius". When I tried opening them, it said that I needed to open them with an application, and that I needed to chose one. I chose iTunes. When I tried double clicking on "iTunes library extras" after this, all it did was open up iTunes. Nothing else. Someone please help me because I had a lot of songs that I liked, and recently downloaded. And it will be a pain to get them all back if no one can help me.

Are the files still physically on your HD?
[User]/Music/iTunes/Media/Music is the default location. Unless you suddenly have a bunch of new "free space" on your hard drive, they're still where they were, you just need to create a new library file.

The sound was lost suddenly while listening to a pre-aired program on National Public Radio that I accessed from a link from an email from my sister. Everything sounded fine for the first 10 minutes then the sound from the 4S iphone speakers just stopped.

I pressed up on the charging dock using a pen and tapped on the speaker side to dislodge any debris. I even stuck my phone in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer as someone suggested. Any other ideas? I even deleted an app to free up some space. Any other suggestions please?

I want to buy a wireless headset for my iPad that will allow me to lissen to a video while blocking out any other sounds in the room yet is comfortable. I do not have any experience with headsets so I do not know what to expect.
