Suppress Welcome Screen with GPO

I can suppress Welcome screen on all Office 2010 products, EXCEPT outlook 2010 client!
I enabled 'Suppress recommended settings dialog' and 'Disabled Opt-in Wizard on first run' under Microsoft Office 2010 section in User Configuration
However, when a new user launched Outlook client, the Welcome Screen pops up! What other settings I need to do in GPO?

I've always set this in the OCT/MSP, but there are plenty of threads and blogs about doing the same in GPO.
Are you using the latest version of the ADMX templates ?

  • Suppressing welcome screen at startup

I would like to suppress the welcome screen dialog from initially opening or preset the checkbox "Don't Show Again" checkbox. We have a customer with multiple users and they don't want the welcome screen to show up the first time a new user launches his copy of InDesign. I know you only need to click on the "Don't Show Again" checkbox and the dialog won't show up for subsequent launches. But this is too much for our customer and they want the default to be that it doesn't show up. I've found the kPMWSetScreenPrefsCmdBoss but there is no description of the interface for the IID_IPMWSCREENPREFSCMDDATA so I don't know if this might be an option. There are some other boss classes for the welcome screen plug-in (kPMWelcomeStartupShutdownBoss, kPMCloseWelcomeScreenCmdBoss, etc.) but it is unclear whether any of these offer a method of preventing or closing the dialog.
Any suggestions on how I can either preset something to prevent it from initially opening or force it to close should it open during launch?

    Hi
Easiest way to get rid of that dialog is to disable or remove plugin. Don't have access to machine with indesign at this moment, but in plugins folder, (PMPack, welcomescreen.pln ) - not sure about those names.

  • CP5: Welcome screen with repeating text animation until click

Would it be possible in a CP5 project to have a first welcome slide that shows an animated text like "Welcome to ..." for about 40 secondes with effect "Typing Text". The animation should restart every minute until a button is clicked? I tried several settings but until now I could not get a working solution.

    Hello again,
Hope I did understand your question this time. You cannot change the duration of the animation itself, if you do not loop the animation will play once and the text will then remain fixed, as you already know without a doubt. What do you mean by 'animation for 20 sec'? You could time an effect, but not a Text animation, and I understood you inserted this with Typing text as animation.
The rest I did work out this way:
inserted the Text animation without looping, and timed it to stay 40sec on the slide
the last 20 seconds only the objects on the master slide will be visible
to get back to the start of the slide after having finished it, I attached a simple Advanced action to the Exit of the slide; this action send the playhead back to the first frame of the project, in this case the first frame of the welcome slide. I think it is best not to use any transition.
put a button on the slide (or a click box if you want it not to be visible) to break the loop, that button sends the playhead to the next slide.

  • Snow Leopard Server - Stuck at Welcome Screen

    Hi Guys,
I have a Mac Mini on which I have just installed SL server 10.6. After reboot it sits on the Welcome Screen with buttons greyed out. I have seen this article : http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10236544 as a resolution but what don't understand is how to log into the machine remotely if I have not given it an IP address or configured any services in SA?

Check your system date. Make sure its set to after the build date of the OS build.
The security stuff in the OS gets cranky when the system date is earlier than the
    signatures on the signed binaries.
If you can get to the system log look for messages like:
servermgrd: createSelfSignedIdentity: Failed, SecAccessCreate returned -2147409653
Using the security tool to explain the error reveals:
    security error -2147409653
    Error: 0x8001210B -2147409653 CSSMERRTP_CERT_NOT_VALIDYET

  • Welcome screen is gone on startups

I always put the machine to sleep overnight but yesterday morning it was OFF. I hit the start button and the fans go wild but the Mac doesn't start. I force shut it down; I unplug it, and after plugging it in again and waiting a couple of minutes I Start the Mac again. I hear the chime; the grey screen comes on with a question mark very briefly and than recognizes the volume and the apple appears. It takes a long while but finally the blue screen comes up. The blue screen changes tone a couple of times and finally my desktop is visible but without first seeing the Welcome screen with the blue loading bar.
I did permissions; restarted several times and EVEN installed a clean copy of Leopard on an empty HD that I use as scratch. No more welcome screen and the startup process is taking longer...
    Any ideas are very welcome!

Nobody had this ever happen? Just a blue screen after the gray screen without the welcome square with the loading bar?

  • Windows 7 won't load past the welcome screen

I'm trying to boot up my laptop but it keeps hanging on the welcome screen. I go through the password page and then it just sticks on the welcome screen with the little spinning circle. It does the same in safe mode but the circle is completely frozen
on the welcome screen and then it gets no further. I don't have a windows recovery CD. Any suggestions?

    Hi,
I suggest boot into Recovery Console to perform System Restore to test the issue.
    1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer using the computer's power button.
    2. Do one of the following:
If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windowslogo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon
prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to repair, and then press and hold F8.
    3. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight Repair your computer, and then press Enter. (If Repair your computer isn't listed as an option, then your computer
doesn't include preinstalled recovery options, or your network administrator has turned them off.)
    4. Select a keyboard layout, and then click Next.
    5. On the System Recovery Options menu, click
    System Restore.

  • 10.6 server setup stuck on welcome screen

I have a Mac Pro Late 2009 that I'm installing 10.6 server on. After install I boot up to the Welcome screen with buttons greyed out and spinning icon in lower left of the screen. Tried connecting with SA tools from an iMac and I can select the server on the left under Ready for Setup, then select server from main window, then click Set Up... button but nothing happens. Any ideas?

  • Welcome screens do not load - ID, PS, AI.

We have disabled the initial 'What's New' welcome windows (those that have the tips and tutorials for new beginners) that load when my CC apps start up (Illustrator, photoshop, indesign) but in the past couple of weeks the regular welcome screens - with recent files, create new, learn etc do not load. The window is there, it just stays blank (except Dreamweaver - that works). This is happening on both macs used by our designers:
    Both running Yosemite 10.10
    App versions:
    App
    Release
    Build
    ID
    2014.1
    10.1.0.71
    PS
    2014.2.1
    20141014.r.257 x64
    AI
    2014.1.0
    18.1.0
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have this same problem; I can't disable the welcome screen because, well, the blank screen doesn't show the checkbox to stop the screen from popping up. I found a script on the Photoshop section of the Adobe forums which I downloaded and used to fix the problem in Photoshop, but I haven't found anything in the forums about fixing the problem in Illustrator or InDesign. This blank welcome screen pops up not only at application start-up, but whenever all documents are closed and the app is still running. So it's all day, every day. This is annoying. I need help fixing this.

  • Frozen at welcome screen

Our HP a1350n (yes, it has some age on it) is frozen at the blue HP welcome screen (with the boot-up key notes at the bottom). It doesn't go beyond that to boot up Windows XP. What could be the problem? Bad motherboard? Hard drive (which is newer than the computer, having replaced the original).
    Thanks.

Take out all of the memory but one stick and try to boot it up.  If you only have one stick, try to find some that will work with your system and see if it will boot up.

Are you saying that you want to see the menu screen when you launch the program?
If so, go to the Help menu and select Welcome Screen. When  the Welcome Screen launches, click on the gear in the upper right corner and set Always Start On to Welcome Screen.
Or are you asking how to start the program from the Welcome Screen?

  • Problems with iPhone Welcome Screen

Hi. We are trying to create a Welcome Screen to our iPhone / iPad app, but it's not working in iPhone. Is it necessary to do something specific to iPhone? Thanks

For the iPhone, the welcome screen only displays in portrait orientation. Otherwise uses CSS media queries to display different images/layouts for different iPad devices in landscape/portrait

  • Installed PSE 12 and PE on new laptop with W8.1.  Both offered a welcome screen but neither will start program.

    Ideas on what to do?

    Hi,
Do both the Organizer and the Editor fail to start when selected from the Welcome screen?
Use the File Explorer to locate the following file and double click on it the see if it will launch the organizer [ignore the (x86) part if on a 32bit system]
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 12 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Try the same with the following file for the editor.
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 12\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
Did you install from DVD or from a download?
