Suppressing a Subreport Prompt On Load

Hi All, I have a summary report. I've added an on demand subreport to let the users export the detail. In the subreport, using a parameter, the users can select which columns to display. The problem is that when I run the main report, I get the prompt for both the main and subreports. Is there a way to suppress the prompt for the subreport until the user actually decides to run it?We're running XI release 2 sp3Also, does anyone know if CR 2008 will allow nested subreports?ThanksMike

Hi,
As per my understanding you want to suppress the header if it blank right ?
Go to -> section expert -> select report header you will get an option for conditionally suppressing it.
X-2 write a condition that will suppress header section.

Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Standard - PDF Printer suppress file name prompt

Hi,
We are currently developing a product for Autodesk Revit with regards to drawing generation/export. Revit does not have an inbuilt PDF writer. As such most users either use free PDF Printers or Adobe Acrobat Standard.
We have managed to automate the naming of files using some of the free PDF printers, and suppress the file save as name prompt for each sheet in a set of prints.
We'd also like to add support for Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Standard. Is this possible through the Acrobat API?
Any prompt help would be greatly appreciated as we are keen to get our product out to market very soon!

Downloaded ps12 onto windows 8 in May!! and cannot get it working, prompt on loading 'Bitmap file not found or out of date', it goes on to load but there is no Editor present??

How to suppress a section that a blank subreport appears in?

I have a series of subreports inside of a main report (each one in a different Group Header like GH2a, GH2b,etc. ) and there are certain times where there are no records in a particular group. The Subreport and the section it is housed in still appear though and I'd like to suppress the section that subreport appears in. I found the "Suppress if Subreport is Blank" option which works well but the main report section still displays and takes up space. How can I suppress a section in a report if the subreport it contains doesn't have any records and doesn't need to show?

Never Mind! I had forgotten about the "Suppress Blank Section" option in the Section Expert. Works like a charm!

Hi everbody,
i have a problem with Crystal Reports 9.
I have make a report with 5 subreports in his reports footer section.
The subreports groups data on years. Means they show information for 2008,2009 ... and so on, on a single page.
My problem is that this works perfect if i preview the subreports from itselfs.
If i start the preview from the mainreport the site with the first year 2008 will shown two times and after that all other years in correct order.
I have checked every Options and try different constalations on Keep Together an NEW PAGE Before or After. Nothing helps.
Now i'm sad and looking for inspiration and idea to solve this problem.
May someone has this problem in the past and can help me.

I have insert a Subreport with insert a report on file. The format options On-demand Supreport, Re-import when loading and suppress Blank-Subreports are disabled. The Main Report Footer are split in serparate sections.
Look at the screenshot here you see the main footer an the subreport footer how makes the problem. And you can see the subreport option of it.

Data Passing from a Subreport to the Main Report

Hello,I have been able to pass data from a subreport to a main report using shared variables. The Complete Reference: CR XI (p. 313) states that you should be able to now suppress the subreport to prevent it from showing on the main report, however this is not working. I want to get the data from the subreport and then further manipulate it in the main report, and I do not want the subreport shown on the main report. I tried suppressing/hiding the section where the subreport is placed as well as suppressing the subreport itself. The formula values on the main report become null when I do this though. Is it possible to keep the subreport off the main report?Thanks.

Using a subreport to obtain a single value

I have a report with multiple subreports displayed on it, for example:
Main Report
   Revenues SubReport
   Expenses SubReport
   Other SubReport
I need a number from the Expenses SubReport to display on the main report before the Expenses SubReport is printed. To handle this, I added a suppressed copy of the Expenses SubReport in the header of the main report and am using a shared variable to retrieve the value. (I can't simply execute the Expenses SubReport stored procedure to do this from within the main report stored procedure as its already executing a stored procedure itself and SQL Server won't allow and EXEC of a stored procedure with an EXEC in it already). I've added a filter to the subreport as as to retrieve only the single summary line that contains the number I need.
This approach generally works very well. However, there are some cases where the value returned is a zero. If I adjusted the layout of the hidden subreport a bit the value will appear. Why is this? How can I guarantee that the number will appear correctly every time?

hi Carl,
i'm assuming that these subs are in the report header. given this assumption, ensure that the hidden subreport is in it's own section. you can use the Format Subreport > Subreport tab option to Suppress Blank Subreport. you can also go to the section expert for where the subeport is and check Suppress Blank Section.
now ensure that the shared variable formula is in a section below where the hidden expenses subreport is. this will ensure that there are no evaluation time issues with bringing the variable back.

Is it possible to run a java program without using the command prompt?

Hi,
I was wondering whether it is possible to run a Java program (not an applet) without using a command line in the command prompt?
Basically I want to run a program that will be continually running in the background and hence I don't want to have a command prompt screen loaded up as well - I just want the program to be running in the task bar.
I know how to run the program in the task bar - but I still need to launch the program from the command prompt - is there anyway I can get a program running without having to start it from the command prompt?

How to suppress vendor bank account for vendor types

I'll bet this has been asked a few times before but I'm struggling to find anything relevant in theforums. This really isn't a security issue as there is the option to suppress the bank account field in SPRO but I just wondered if anybody had found a work around or proper SAP standard S&A to resolve please?
The perennial "We need to stop people seeing vendor bank account details for our employees but still can see the 'real' vendors' bank account details!" question has been raised, I've offered the suppress bank account details field (load blunderbus and fire option) but is there anything I can do to refine this?
This is a fairly old 4.6D system due to be upgraded late next year and there's been no XK03 custom transaction mod made so far as I can see.
Vendors have been define as EMPLOY,..., etc so the split is there if needed...
Thanks for your attention - just wanted to see if this was possible?

SAP GUI FOR HTML - SAP Netweaver loading screen

We have an SAP EP7 portal with an ECC 6.0 R/3 backend. In the portal I have an SAP Transaction iView using transaction code PA64. The display in the portal uses SAP GUI for HTML.
The iView loaded correctly (i.e. displayed the transaction screen correctly in the Portal Content Area) until our recent SP upgrades to the R/3 backend and portal. For the backend we moved from SP13 to SP15. For the portal we moved from SP14 to SP18.
The issue that I now have is that an SAP Netweaver (SAP GUI FOR HTML) loading screen now appears (for about 5 seconds) prior to the PA64 transaction screen being displayed in the Portal Content Area.
Whilst I accept that this is not a major issue, I would like to suppress the display of this loading screen. Does anyone know how this can be achieved?

Thanks Michael. We also updated our system and are having the same issue. As you advised and I see in the SAP note, I'm going to add the ~nosplash parameter. We do have SAPKB70017. Is there a particular value associated with that parameter when it is added in SICF?

Help with loading image in Air

Hello there, hope you can help me with this situation. Getting into FlexSDK/AirSDK development. I am very familiar with Flex development using Flash Builder 4, however, I would like to get into development using the the two(2) SDK development tools mentioned above especially from an AIR development perspective. Coming along pretty good, and ran into one problem that driving me nuts: I have an image in a folder called AirSamples/Air/HelloWorld/southwest.jpg. I tried to bind the image to the image tag by issuing the following:
<mx:Image source="@Embed('AirSamples/Air/HelloWorld/southwest.jpg')" /> in my mxml file (HelloWorld.mxml). Let assume this is the only component tag in the file.
When I go to the command prompt and issue the command: amxmlc Helloworld.mxml, it compiles without an error. When I issue adl HelloWorld-app.mxml from the command line prompt, it loaded in Flash Player, however, the graphic symbol came up indicating that a graphic was there, but no graphic. Can you offer any suggestions as to how I can make this work even if I have to use ActionScript.

I already know how to do that, but I specifically stated in my post that I can't use the Loader class. The reason for that is that my program is an image manipulation program, and I need to load the data into a BitmapData object. However, since I originally made my post, I have found some more information. I used trace() to find out the length of the ByteArray I was loading the data into, and then the position after trying to create the BitmapData object, like so:

As the comments show, though the ByteArray is 4631 bytes, it is only read up until byte number 4628. Then it throws an error. Any idea what's going on?

[Solved] Zsh prompt issues

Ive recently restored my arch system from a backup due to some problems. However I am now having an issue with my zsh prompt.
I have a .zshrc file in my home dir that was always obeyed by zsh before. Now when I log in the ~/.zshrc file is loaded because all my aliases still work but my prompt is not the one specified in ~/.zshrc file.
If I copy ~/.zshrc to /etc/zsh/zshrc then the prompt is loaded along with all the other aliases etc.
Can anyone suggest why this maybe as id like to keep the zsh settings on a per-user basis?

Not sure if this is directly relevant to your situation or not, but I encountered a very similar issue starting the other week; loading promptinit and selecting a theme would work, but setting a custom PS1= etc. through my ~/.zshrc no longer did, even though it was still being loaded. I similarly did not think to re-install the package, until I came across this thread. As part of doing so I had to remove several packages with a Zsh dependency. After re-installing Zsh, my normal PS1 etc. came back, but went away again after re-installing the other packages.
In my case, it appears extra/grml-zsh-config was the culprit; this package adds a lengthy /etc/zsh/zshrc, and the behaviour occurs when that file is present. I couldn't say if this is a bug or just intended behaviour (indeed, I only had GRML-Zsh-Config installed as a dependency for another package); either way, once identified, workarounds became possible.
Would be curious to know if this was also the case at your end (and if not, well... it seems there are a number of ways one can lose their Zsh prompt configuration!)

Firefox wont load/browse unless keyboard/mouse is active

Firefox last automatically updated for me the other day.
Since then when I open firefox, I can click on the desktop icon or the quick launch, in either case it seems like firefox never opens unless I click with my mouse or hit a key(s) on the keyboard, then it suddenly appears.
Firefox has a similar issue when browsing now, I can type in an address or click a link. But it sits their idle with the progress bar about half full like it has no connectivity, but the moment you move the mouse or push something on the keyboard, the web page starts loading properly.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix this? Will attempt to reinstall shortly and see if that resolves the issue.

This has gotten borderline ridiculous....no, wait.....it is absolutely bloody ridiculous.
A couple of days ago the Firefox "plugin-container.exe started eating a massive amount of CPU, somewhere in the range of 95%.
I was related to the Adobe Flash and Shockwave Flash Plug in....when disabled it would crash flash based videos while watching and then refuse to reload them until the plugin was enabled. They was a ton of feedback on the CPU difficulties as related to the plugin-container.exe and its conflict with flash.
Then last night I got back and once I opened up Firefox I was immediately prompted to load the Firefox Update 3.6.6 which I did. Now I have a new problem........
When I am watching or try to load up flash based videos the videos will not play unless either my mouse or keyboard is active, by that I mean I will press play for the video and it seems to load up but will not play or run sound unless I sit there making little circles with my mouse...
Now I don't need some door knob telling me I have an internal "conflict" and to uninstall and reinstall a dozen or so programs.....this is simply a continuation of the original "plugin container.exe" crash bug and now it is in the guise of 3.6.6
This needs to be looked at quickly...
C'mon guys...get it together!!!!!!!
