Suppression of table helptext in Headstart help.htm

I am using a Headstart tool (I think version HSUSTART rev 6.5.3.3) to create an
application-help.html file on the basis of help-items in the repository. The
customer has provided me with new texts which they only want to see on the
forms level. When running the appropriate Headstart tool I choose the option to
suppress the item hel information.
The tables that are used in the Forms all have a help text in the repository. This
text is also included in the application-help.html. When I press the help-key from
within an application form, the help page opens at the database table help section
and not at the form help. I wish to suppress also the help-text from the tables in
the repository. Is there a way to do this?

I think the problem is more that AIR is not Javacript friendly, there have been a number of reports of javascript that does not work in AIR help.
Sorry but I don't have the javascript skills to see if this method can be adapted.

Stuck in IDCS4 Table H*ll--Please Help

I'm working on updating a parts catalog for my company (800+ pages) and it's my first big project using IDCS4. We've separated each section into an individual document (most between 50-80 pages, but a couple of the sections are 100+ pages).
Due to the nature of the project, I've attempted to make my documents as flexible as possible. Over the next few years we will be inserting new information at different places in the catalog, as we begin to carry new items. Because of this possibilty, the current information for each section is placed in an single table that overflows from the first page through the last page of that document.
The problem I keep running into, is that the table rows for different parts of the same document have to be formatted differently to achieve a consistent appearance. There are a few parts that have additional information that requires splitting and/or merging table cells.
Here are a few issues I've come across:
* When I try to Shift + drag a cell border, ID will not allow me to drag it past the threshhold of another cell in a higher or lower row. For example, I have a 3 inch cell in Row 2 of my document that begins at 0" and ends at 3". Further down at row 7, I have divided the 3" row vertically. The right half of the divided cell has been merged to the adjacent cell (to the right). When I try to drag the left wall of this cell toward the left, ID won't let me drag it past the 3" mark on the ruler (in fact, it stops about 1/16" short). Is there a way to override this and freely drag the cell wall to whatever size I want it to be?
* My other issue is attempting to paste rows from one ID document to another. Occasionally, ID allows me to do it, but it plays heck with my formatting when it does. Most times, even when the rows seem to be right at or very close to the same dimensions, the Paste function is not available after I Cut or Copy the rows from the older document.
Can anyone provide advice/solutions or even explain to me that I'm going about this all wrong, or have I come across an inherent weakness of InDesign's capabilities. I understand that an application that does every single thing you'll ever want or need isn't out there, but it seems like it's those things I want or need most that ID refuses to do.

Thanks for all of your help. I checked out catalog plugins and downloaded a couple of the trial versions. They seem to be a great tool and something I'll probably pursue in the future. Unfortunately, their parameters weren't compatible with the amount of work I've already put into this project and in the interest of time-saving, I'm going to pursue another path for this version of the catalog so I can take my time working on the prep it would take make the most of the catalog plugins.
I did some homework on the linked text frames solution and have proceeded down that path. Due to some of the formatting (some of the pages were a lot more difficult than the sample I uploaded), I'm still using tables to preserve a consistent look, but I've broken down each product section into a separate table (of no more than 20-30 product listings per table). I don't know why that didn't occur to me earlier, I guess I was in the dark about the reflow feature that keeps objects flowing consecutively.
One other problem I'm having that I haven't found a suitable answer to: When pasting rows from one table to another, most help databases I've seen praise the flexibility of InDesign to copy from one table and *as long as there are enough rows to add the new info*, pasting from one table to another is a snap. However, I've found limited success with this feature. I'm not sure if it has to do with my tables, some of which became very complex (through splitting and merging cells to preserve a consistent appearance throughout a section), but InDesign will allow me to cut rows from one table and insert them as a new table into a text frame; however, when I try to copy more rows from the first table (formatted the same as the first rows that I cut), the Paste feature is inactive. Other than the first series of rows being cut from one table and pasted as a new table, their is no difference between them and the next section of rows I'm attempting to add to the end of the table.
Any thoughts on the seeming inconsistency?

You get this message for a good reason - it means you've made some chnages to base table fields whioch have undoubtedly resulted in one or more locks being taken out of the database.
The way to get rid of the message is to commit before you do the operation that causes the message to occur, but you probably want to work out why the records are marked as changed if you're not expecting it.

Expandable list - Table of Contents - Please Help

The problem as you will notice if you go to this page and click on the categories, is that only the first topic will expand and all the others will not.
I have reviewed the code several times and do not see any differences between the first topic heading and the others; nor between the code that works on the first page and the page I am creating using Dreamweaver.
I have thought about using the Spry Collapsible Panel or Accordian but it is not exactly what we want. Besides everyone is already comfortable with this layout.

External table - bad row - Please help

Hi,
I have one external table which is associated with a LOAN.DAT file.
If some rows are bad means external table is dumping a bad file with
the 'bad row' in .bad file. Is there any way to identify what is the reason for
this or which column caused the row to be bad?

Table heights inconsistent - Please help!

I'm not at all savvy with web programming. I have lots of
experience creating HTML e-mails in DreamWeaver but this is the
first complete site I've designed and built using DW8.

pages, "contact" and "creative brief", are taller than the other
pages.

Everything checks out in DW layout mode; every container
table adds up to 561 pixels high. However, when I look at these two
pages live (or in browser preview) they are not only taller than
the portfolio pages, they're off by different amounts.
I thought perhaps I had added top/bottom margins in CSS that
weren't showing in DW layout mode but my brief moment of
inspiration was proven to be incorrect.
I'd appreciate your input as to what I can do to fix this.

Yeah - it's not really good news.
Layout Mode makes such a godawful mess on your pages it's
very hard to just
offer a concise solution that doesn't involve the words
"start over". For
example, read this page -

Then look at the code on your page, and count how many
instances of
'colspan' and 'rowspan' you see. My quick look came in at
more than 10.
Let me just say that your DESIGN for the pages is very
pleasant. It's clear
that you do this well.
And looking at your code, there is ANOTHER huge problem with
this page - you
have not used DW's templates properly. I can see that what
you have done is
to open a template page, insert unique content for this page,
and then
resave the page with an *.html extension. That's just not
going to work.
How do I know this? Look here -

Hello experts,
I was developed one custom component which is displayd in table format.here in one column i was put F4 functionality.whenever the user click on that f4 one pop up window will come with few columns and few records then user selects one row from that pop up window.Now my requirement is whatever the row is selected by user that row will come and set in my table .its very needful..

If the field for which you are trying to get F4 help is a context node attribute, its very simple.
First, make sure that the field is an input field.
In the corresponding context node class, implement the get_v method of the attribute. A utility class has been created to simplify the definition of F4 Help -
CL_BSP_WD_VALUEHELP_F4DESCR.
Check out the implementation of this class in any of the standard code, that will guide you. Also, make sure that you have defined the input and output mapping properly.
The input mapping defines the search criteria that is used and output mapping defines in which fields the selected values have to be transferred.

I have copied F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE and made changes. I want this search help exit to populate and display contents related to 'FIELD1' when the user enters a specific value for it in the search help screen, meaning when the user restricts the search by that value. For field2, field3, field4, field5, field6, field7, and field8 I am using a custom view.

How to get Value Table values in F4 help

Hi.
I am creating one custom field in ORDERADM_H.
I created it based on my own data element name.
In that data element domain contains Value Table.
This value table is having one field with four records.
Now i am adding the field in the Web Ui Screen.
But it is not at all getting F4 help.
How i will get F4 help.
I want my value table records in that F4 help.
I am selecting any one then that should be placed in the Input Field.
When i save the record the data should be stored in the Data base tables also.

Help view to get two table entries in search help

Hi,
I have created the help view for join two tables and that help view was called in the selection method for creating search help of the custom table field. since it has show inthe selection screen , it is fetching only one table entries. and the shown entries are displaying but not passing.
Please provide the steps to get the two table entries and the displayed entries should pass.

1. Try your view with SE16/SE16N to see if it really finds what you expect
2. Use the same data elements in help view as on selection screen
3. read documentation and F1 help on all fields you see in the search help definition - especially only field marked as EXPORT parameter will be put back on screen.
But, sincerely, I don't know what your selection-screen looks like.

Discrepancy in the table payr, need urgent help

Dear All,
i have one table payr in logical database.
2 fields of it i,e kunnr and vblnr
When i goto se16 and select the data for say kunnr = '2901350' and vblnr = '20002000'
Now what happens for this combination i get no data found.
but say i enter only vblnr = '20002000' i get teh outpur with kunnr '2901350'.
BUt at the time of selection i enter data i dont get it.
I also tried entering '0002901350' than to data is not coming.
when i entered in selection kunnr = '2901350*' then i get the output
PLease help me output it this is the problem with the conversion exit or not
how to resolve the problem

is the table being updated by any Z PROGRAM ,,
if so then in that program check whether the entries on kunnr and vblnr have used conversion alpha routine ..
if i dont use a routine on value 21220020 then if it is storing in the table as 21220020 then its a discrepancy cause it has to be stored as 0021220020 .
see if any database entry is like this which u have referred in the post .
if any one is missing(either on kunnr or vblnr) then its a data discrepancy problem for which u cannot handle with a select.

InDesign CS3 crashing adding table style...HELP!!

This issue started on Friday. I just starting working on a large document that will have many tables throughout, so I must use the table styles. Here is the order in which I do things to get the crash.
Place document from Word in to InDesign document
Highlight table to be changed
Convert text using paragraph styles
Alter column widths to fit page
Highlight entire table to select table style
Click desired table style
CRASH!!!!
I have tried the following things with NO LUCK:
Deleted adobefntX file multiple times (actually worked for a couple of hours first time I did it)
Deleted InDesign preferences (did nothing)
Re-created all "Styles" in InDesign (Character, Paragraph, Cell, & Table) (Did nothing)
Changed the order in which I altered the tables text and formatting (thinking it was just a silly order problem)
Unistalled and Re-installed CS3 (worked for 5 tables and then CRASH)
Updated ALL software (Adobe and Mac)
Started up in Safe mode and CRASH!!!
I realize from seraching for this problem on the web that I am probably the ONLY person having this issue, but I thought it was a font problem until I started in Safe Mode and still crashed. I am totally confused as to what I should do next. I am running on a

That's why I suggested it. But you didn't answer my question: Is this happening with only one file? The reason I ask is because if one file is corrupted, saving to INX and back to INDD often clears out minor corruptions. If you're seeing this in many files it's unlikely they're all corrupt.

Now I'm really confused. Your steps are:
Place document from Word in to InDesign document
Highlight table to be changed
Modify placed text using character styles
Are you really highlighting an entire table and applying a character style? While this will work to modify certain formatting aspects, it's not really the best approach. Character styles are for characters *within* a paragraph. Paragraph styles are for *entire* paragraphs. Each table cell contains at least one full paragraph, even if it's just a single number, a space, even if there's nothing there at all. If you want to format the contents of an entire cell or range of cells with the same formatting, use a paragraph style, not a character style. If you want to italicize one or two words in some text in a cell (the way I just did), then use a character style.
I really feel that the issue either stems from fonts or from placing the document from Word.
Could be. Cheap fonts are the cause of many problems in Indesign. Indesign is really picky about fonts. But let's try the easy fix first (INX). If you don't trust it, save the .inx to a new .indd filename (keep your old .indd file as a backup).

Summarizing entries of the Internal table--Urgent..plz help

I have an internal table containing fields f1, f2 ,f3 ..f8.
I want to summarize the entries based on three fields of table f1,f2 and f3.These fields are numeric fields.The other fields have numeric and non numeric fields.One of the field f4 is quantity field which needs to summed.
For example the contents:
1 2 3 4 A 5 6 7
1 2 3 4 A 5 6 7
1 2 3 4 B 5 6 7
3 4 5 5 D 5 6 7
3 4 5 6 D 5 6 7
will be summarized as
1 2 3 8 A 5 6 7
1 2 3 4 B 5 6 7
3 4 5 11 D 5 6 7
4th field is quantity field.It is assumed that if the first 3 fields are same all others numeric field will be same.Non numeric may be different.

Hi Prabhas,
Decalre your internal table of type HASHED. < See F1 to declare such a table>. with key fields as all the character fields.
Then when you are making the entry in your table Use Collect statement.
like Collect itab.
This should give you the required results.
Use table declaration as Hashed Table only.
Use F1 to get details, In case you need code I can give the same as well.
