Surface Pro 3 Student Discount

Hello,
I am interested in purchasing a Surface Pro 3 and receiving the advertised $150 discount.
I will be attending the University of Nevada, Reno this fall.  Unfortunately they have quit issuing student email addresses (http://www.unr.edu/it/communications/email/new/student-email). Since I do not have an email ending in .EDU, I am unable to receive a discount code via your website.
Is there a way to prove student status and receive the discount other than an email ending in .EDU?

Not having immediate access to an .EDU e-mail address would certainly make things difficult, but rest assured that I'd be glad to help you out!     I bought a new macbook pro yesterday, and I received a student discount, but I found out that my warranty is for just one year.
    Yes I can see at the "Online" Education store, that it should be 3 years, but the thing is I bought this at the "retail" store in London.
    I think it should be 3 years as same as at online store,

    I purchased my laptop (mac book pro) in march 2014 & I'm thinking of buying the care plan which will be valid for 3 years. Could I know if there's a student discount for the care plan & if it's valid from the date of purchase of the laptop or the date of purchase of the care plan?
    I bought my laptop from a UK apple store for student price & my university is registered as an educational institution on the apple website.

    The care plan extends your coverage from date-of-purchase to the three-year mark, and provides free telephone support for that entire period.
    In general, there are no additional student discounts on the care plan.
    The care plan covers defects in materials and workmanship up to the three year mark. On a MacBook, it does not cover accidental damage or liquid spills. But owners of the care plan have been known to get the 'benefit of the doubt' in close judgement calls about warranty coverage.
    You must choose to purchase it within the first year of coverage, or it becomes unavailable. This is to preclude users waiting until a problem occurs and then buying care. Like any sort of insurance, it remains affordable because some purchases will be covered, but will not need to collect on it.

    not sure you can get "student discount" for this app.  you will have to ask more detail from your Apple representative. 
    when you click/ order some merchandise from the Apple store (https://store.apple.com), there's link at bottom of page (like "Apple Store US," "Education Store," "Business," or "Government Store").  you click on the [Education Store] & in the prompt you enter the name of your university/school.  but Logic Pro is not purchased here.
    you have to purchase Logic Pro from the App Store... and APP store doesn't have [Education Store] link.  so your Apple representative in Prague may have a different way to complete this.  or Apple World Wide.

    Hi,
    I am planning on purchasing the 13 inch mac book pro. I want to take advanatge of the student discount to save $100. Since this Macbook is on sale for $60 off, is the savings combined, or just the $100?
    Also, if I use my school email (for the code) and ID but my parents buy it (card in their name) does this affect anything?

    Its the sale price plus $100 off.
    An issue might come up with you paying with a parents cc. Technically your name has to be on the card, but if the cc is signed on the back the cashier isnt supposed to check id (or isnt required to) so you should be fine if it is.
    I used to work for Best Buy as an Apple Specialist, but all my comments, posts and opinions are my own and do not in anyway reflect Best Buy. Mostly because I think the exact opposite as Best Buy anyway

  • Bought Macbook Pro for $1199. Realized I quailed for student discount.

    I bought a new macbook pro 9 days ago after my macbook pro of 2 years crashed due to logic board failure. I went on to buy the same computer as before, and currently now, old version of the macbook pro for $1199. I just discovered I was legible for a student discount of $200. Am I able to receive a refund of that money or upgrade my computer to the newer macbook pro, which would come out to be the same price as what I paid for the older one given the discount? Very dissapointing that the gentlman assiting me in my purchase did not informe me about the student discount, as every other saleperson there has always been kind enough to do so.

    As we are all other users here, it would be best if you asked at the store where you bought it - ask to speak to the manager and take along your machine and your receipt. You have 14 days to return it if you bought it at an Apple store, so you could also just return it and then buy another.

    I just read somewhere that if you buy a MacBook Pro (or any other Mac) from the online Apple Store with a student discount that it is a refurbished one you get. This because it's with student discount.
