Surface Pro 3 unable to run preview

I tried twice to install Windows 10 9926 on my Surface Pro 3. First, I did an upgrade of my working Windows 8.1. This seemed to work until it got to the desktop, at which point it started cycling something which made it impossible to type and caused a reboot
cycle. I assume a system failure.
After failing to find a way to fix this I ended up cleaning out the entire hard drive and doing a clean Win 10 install. This had the exact same symptom.
So, I finally gave up and went back to Windows 8.1 but wow was this painful. I must have entered my Bitlocker password (all many characters) at least 8 times manually. Then, I had to disable bitlocker (with no indication of how) and then reinstall and then
reenable bitlocker (again with no instructions).
The entire process was about a 2 on a 1...10 rating. At least I now have a working tablet again (but no applications and no data). The 'new' recovery process really needs some user-friendly work. At least one easy way to get into safe mode - please
bring back F8.

I am using MDT 2013 on a WDS 2008 R2 and everytime i tried to image the tablet via PXE boot through the Surface Pro 3 ethernet adapter, i get this error:
Wizard Error:
A connection to the deployment (my deployment share) could not be made.
The following network device did not have a driver installed.
PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_2B38&SUBSYS_045E0001&REV_00
Retry: Try again to connect to the deployment share.
Cancel: Give up, cancelling any in-progress task sequence.
PLEASE HELP!
YOu most likely need to add the microsoft networking adapter to the MDT console, and explicitly add it to the WinPE group. Don't forget to rebuild the deployment share so it regenerates the WinPE iamge.

is not able to install on preview version as I use pro to manage servers using server manager.

Hi,
We can try to use Factory recovery image to reset your PC to get back your Windows 8.1:
Note: This action will wipe out your Surface Pro 3 and all of the data on its hard drive. Please backup your important data first.
First,
download      the Surface Pro 3 recovery media, you will need to provide your serial      number of your Surface.
Next, extract the      contents of the downloaded ZIP file onto a USB drive that has been      formatted with the FAT32 file system. You will need at least 16GB of on      the drive.
With your Surface      powered off, insert the USB drive.
Press and hold the      Volume Down button, and then press and release the Power button. When the      Surface logo appears, release the Volume Down button.
Choose your language and      country, and then go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Command      Prompt.
Type "diskpart"      then press Enter
Type "select disk      system" then press Enter. This action will select the drive that the      operating system is loaded on.
There's no turning back after this next      step…
Type "clean"      then press Enter. Your hard drive is now erased.
Type "exit"      then press Enter
Turn off your Surface      and power it on using the method in Step 4
Choose your language and      country, and then go to Troubleshoot > Reset your PC
Click Next
Click "Yes,      repartition the drives."
Follow the prompts to      begin the recovery process
After that, if you encounter the activation issue, please contact Surface support for further help.

Why does my surface pro say that photoshop CC is incompatible

I installed the CC version of Photoshop and every time I click on it. It just shuts down immediately. It use to says that the display driver doesn't work but now it says that this version of photoshop only works with windows 7 or later but I have windows 8.1. I spent my whole sunday trying to figure this out. Im completely done with all this. All the other adobe products work but not photoshop. Any advice you guys?

Unable to run pse 13 dvd on surface pro while connecting through external dvd drive

Hello, I purchased pse13 DVD and a portable DVD drive to install this software on surface pro having windows 8.1 but this DVD is not detected on surface. Is there a way I can install this software on my surface?

You'll have to figure out why the surface isn't showing the DVD drive. For that you'll have to contact Microsoft or the DVD manufacturer to see if the drive is compatible with your Surface.

SFC and System Restore errors on Surface Pro 3 running Win 8.1

Yesterday evening, my boss sent me an email complaining about problems mapping network drives (Server 2008r2) and connecting to the office LAN after setting up offline files. He tried troubleshooting to no avail. I suggested SFC.exe and/or a systems
restore. However neither one worked.
System restore failed to extract file C:\Users\...\local\Packages\microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8v from the restore point.
Unspecified error (0x8007045b)
SFC.exe /scannow does report that it found errors, but could not fix them. I have a CBS.log file that I could post somewhere...
All this on a Surface Pro 3 running Windows 8.1

SFC 3x squeaky clean
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth reported success. Still same issue - unable to do any system restore from any restore point.
(trying to restore because suddenly Miracast went off to a parallel universe on my SP3..)
--I've run SFC and DISM multiple times. Neither find any errors. I'm stumped--
and Volume Shadow Copy Service is running...

Does it run regular Windows 8 (allowing you to install the same apps as older versions of Windows in the desktop) or does it run Windows 8 RT, where only apps from the Windows Store are allowed? It looks like regular Windows 8, in which case you can try out the free trial of Acrobat Pro.
If it works, the Acrobat SDK (separate download) has all developer information on Acrobat, and you need it (give up any idea you will find code ready for use on Google...)

Unable to run JavaScript via Console in Acro Pro 8.2.2 - security issue?

I'm unable to run a JavaScript either from the Console or via AppleScript's do script.
At first I thought it was a keyboard issue as I'm using a MacBook Pro, but fn-Return for Enter works in Acrobat 7.1.0 Console.
Trying to run a JavaScript from AppleScript with do script returns 'Adobe Acrobat Professional got an error: can't continue do script'
The various preferences are:
JavaScript
Enable Acrobat JavaScript yes
Enable menu items JavaScript execution privileges yes
Enable global object security policy no
Enable JavaScript Debugger after Acrobat is started yes
Enable interactive console yes
Show console on errors and messages yes
Security (Enhanced)
Enable Enhanced security no
I think these settings should enable JavaScript to be run from the Console, but I'm getting the impression that the latest security fix is locking down JavaScript despite these settings.
I'm on a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.5.8
Has anyone else seen anything like this? Looks like I'll be going back to 7.1.0 for a while.

The Laserjet 3300 Windows 8.1 x64 drivers are supplied through Windows Update as for Windows 7.

I've been able to download iTunes Version 12.1.1. I'm just wondering if i should get a new mp3 player since I've read that it's difficult to sync iPods with Surface Pros.

Since the Surface Pro 3 is effectively a standard Windows 8.1 system with a "tablet" form factor it should be fine (I don't have one - yet - but I know people who are using the Pro 3 with iTunes/iPods without problems).
You may be encountering an issue that occurs with the last two releases of iTunes - 12.1.0.71 and 12.1.1.4 are (unlike previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes) full 64-bit applications - prior to 12.1 most "64-bit" versions were actually 32-bit applications with a 64-bit installer. Many users have encountered issues with the 64-bit version of 12.1 - less so with 12.1.1.4, but it appears that there are some remaining incompatibilities/inconsistencies with some 64-bit Windows systems. Even though I've not seen this reported specifically for the Surface Pro 3, it may be worth trying this alternative installer: iTunes 12.1.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards). The "for older video cards" label is a little misleading, since although this does resolve a video compatibility issue that iTunes detects when first run it is actually the same architecture as pre-12.1 releases (32-bit applications with a 64-bit installer).
You don't say that you've actually had sync problems or are just concerned that you might ... if the former, posting back more details of symptoms may be useful. For example, if you connect your iPod does it show up in iTunes? If not, there may be specific resolutions that could work rather than using the "for older video cards" version - see iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

I bought a new Surface pro 3 and am unable to download Photoshop CS6 or the trial of CC, I turned off the firewall and stopped the pop up blockers. Other ideas? This is windows 8

You cannot have a extended desktop using a splitter. All that does is mirror the pair attached to the splitter.
You can do this however using a Matrox DualHead2Go.
Other solution would be to attach one monitor to your video out as you do the splitter and attach the other via USB (assuming the adapter supports the monitor's resolution).

Download all drivers and firmware

Adobe CC on Microsoft Surface Pro

I've installed Creative Cloud on my Surface Pro, and the apps I use tend to work fine - however, there's an issue with the Creative Cloud launcher itself.
The CC context menu (right-click in system tray) only displays text for the first option in the list; the other options are present and can be selected, but have no text.
Additionally, when the launcher needs an update, a small popup appears over the launcher app window. The content for this popup is not correctly displayed; only the CC logo is visible, there are no text or buttons, and the popup's 'close' button (top-right of popup) cannot be clicked. I'm *guessing* that this is an update dialogue, as it went away after I manually updated the launcher app (by re-running the installer).
Both of these issues could be related to a known font sizing bug, but I've set my dektop to 100% zoom (native pixel sizing) so I wouldn't have thought that would be the problem.
I've updated my Surface to Windows 8.1 - could that be the issue?

I'm afraid I didn't install Creative Cloud before upgrading the Surface to Windows 8.1, so I don't know if the issue occurs with the standard OS that the Surface Pro ships with (and it's not easy or practical for me to roll back at this stage).
It *could* just be a strange configuration issue with my machine, but it's probably worth the developers exploring further as 8.1 will be leaving preview and shipping fairly soon; if it's a reproducible error you may see it cropping up a fair amount.
