Surface pro type cover not working

I just installed arch on my surface pro and the touch screen works well, as does the stylus, but the type cover/touchpad doesn't type or function at all. On startup two error messages are shown:

So we need all 600 people who have commented in the App Store reviews to call Apple so they remove this complete Scam from their system. Yes, I agree they should be doing this themselves but get your money back and make this an issue. Apple should be VERY concerned when World TV is #5 paid app and Pages and GarageBand are the next two respectively.

Opening the dictation system preference panel makes the system preferences crash...
The mic of that camera is the only mic I have.

Unplug and plug in back the camera does not solve this problem. I tried that before.
But what worked was to start photo booth. Don't really know why.

Try this. Open one of your files. The window that contains your picture is named at the top. Command click on the name and you'll see the entire path starting with its name and then moving to the folder, the folder it is contained in, etc all the way to down to the hard drive volume name. This should tell you where to find the folder.

Elite Pro, CMSS-3D not working and other issues after driver update

DElite Pro, CMSS-3D not working and other issues after driver update <font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="4">Elite Pro CMSS-3D control (on I/O console)no longer controls CMSS-3D.
The only time it works is if the original drivers are installed from the installation CD.
ANY other drivers stop the control on the Elite Pro I/O console from having any effect on CMSS-3D.
Also at one time when I cotrolled volume, CMSS-3D(original drivers), EAX and Crystalizer from the Elite Pro I/O controls then I had on screen display of said control that was being moved(on I/O console).
Now regardless of what drivers are installed, there?are no longer any on screen indicators.
The indicators looked like the ones that show when using the remote controller.
Anyone have any ideas?

Surface Pro 3 is not able to connect to standalone aironet

we are having issues with several Surface Pro 3 device connecting to a standalone Aironet. Other Device connect to this AP no problem. SP3 connect to other APs (not cisco) no problem. So there seems to be an issue between the two devices. When I look in the logs of the AP I get the following message:

I rolled out a batch of these to our wireless network a couple of months back. A couple of tips:
- From a wireless perspective these devices are extremely buggy out of the box (I'm not exaggerating). They basically won't function using the built in wireless with anything other than the most very basic wireless setup of a home router until you apply ALL of the patches and updates for them in Windows Update. In my case I had to install all the updates via ethernet dongle and/or a Linksys USB Wireless dongle (the drivers were much better for the USB dongle and allowed connectivity to work). The built in Marvell adaptor looks to be good from a features perspective but poor from a driver perspective. Once the updates were applied it mostly worked.
- I experienced a similar problem with FT (Fast Transition) enabled - the SP3 will not connect with FT enabled. In my view there were two issues - (1) the devices won't even connect if FT is enabled and (2) they don't support the FT feature for seamless roaming.
I took it up with Microsoft and they acknowledged the problem but wouldn't commit to fixing the buggy behaviour (allowing the connection and ignoring the FT attribute like many older clients do) nor would they commit to when they will support the FT feature (fast roaming).
These tips might not be the cause of your problem but hopefully they will help you get it up and running.
Fortunately all of these problems can be fixed with driver updates, so maybe in the future they may end up being pretty good wireless clients afterall :-)

Yoga 2 Pro Touch screen not working

I've had no problems with my yoga 2 pro for over a month, but last night I decided to do windows updates. This is the model with the i7, and 8gb of ram. I let it update and then restarted it. After it started up, I tried to swipe the cover screen up, but nothing was happening. I then decided to use the mouse, and soon realized that the touch screen was unresponsive. I've tried to restore the computer to before the updates, but it hasn't fixed the problem. I can still switch to tablet and stand mode, etc. and the screen will rotate, but I can not get the touch screen to respond to anything. I tried to install some drivers, but none of them are for the touch screen as far as I know, and nothing else seems to work. Does anyone know a fix, or maybe know of a driver I need to install?

Sorry that you are having this issue. Do you know what might have caused this at least? Did you plug in any USB devices recently or does the touchscreen disable after you plug it in? Did you install any programs recently? Do you have the most updated drivers? Do you leave it on long enough for it to go into sleep mode?

Some people got it working by uninstalling recently installed software, updating video card drivers, and others have just had to get it replaced.
If none of the uninstalls, updates, drivers stuff works, I would do the following (like the others have said in this list), but please be careful (stuff might break):
- Do a system restore (to a point where it worked before)
- If that doesn't work, do a windows refresh
- If that doesn't work, I'd call Lenovo and see what tech support can do to help. They will try to update stuff for you and if that doesn't work, they will literally try to reset your computer basically to factory settings (Lenovo actually has their own program that tries to reset stuff)
- If that doesn't work, and you can't live without a touchscreen, I'd call up Lenovo or if you are still on the phone with them, get them to replace it. They handle all the shipping and while it sucks to not have it for a couple of weeks, you at least get the computer you paid for.
Ultimately, what happened to me was that none of the little tricks worked. System restore didn't work. Windows refresh didn't work. Then I called them and they basically told me to do the same things. This time though, during the refresh, some bug happened where it screwed up the refresh so I couldn't even start Windows anymore and it bricked my computer. Then they even had me go through the Lenovo refresh thingy which didn't work. At the end, I ended up shipping it back to them to fix and I think they basically just gave me a new Yoga 2 Pro. The whole process sucked, but at least now my touchscreen works and I never plug my fitbit into the USB port anymore.

Adobe Premier Pro GPU Acceleration Not working

Hello, I've been noticing that the gpu assisted rendering process in premier does not speed up even with the mercury playback engine GPU acceleration (CUDA).
I used as a benchmark a 1 minute clip of 30 fps avi gaming footage and rendered in H.264 at 10693 Kbps and i got these results:
CPU Only: 1 Minute And 43 Seconds
GPU Assisted: 1 Minute and 41 Seconds
not much difference with a gtx 970 and 4790k is it, what is the problem?

Excite PRO 3G connection not work after Android v4.3 update

I live in Italy and on last Sunday (january 26th) my Excite PRO tablet (model AT10LE-A-10H) got the Android version 4.3.201121220.35.
After restart my wifi works fine, all other app work fine, but my 3g connection doesn't work, mobile network bar is empty and it says "no service".
My sim card is ok. I used this sim card before the system update and I didn't get any problem with Android 4.2.2.
Please help me.

Go to the mobile network settings and search again for the 3G network.
I had similar problem with my Android Smartphone and my o2 provider
I started new search, then I chosen the O2 again and then I could solve the problem.
In case this does not work for you, recommend you to reset the tablet back to default (factory settings)

QuickTime 7 Pro Key Does Not Work

Apple Store sent me a QT Pro "key" and link to on-line instructions. Nothing works. My System Preferences QuickTime dialog/panel does not have an OK button (or a Register button). It's a dead-end dialog. Email reply to my plea for help from Apple Support said I cannot use the QT 7 Pro key on a Mac with OS X 10.3.9 and QuickTime 7.0.3. Said to reinstall 7.0.1 (downgrading from 7.0.3), which I have done, to no avail. Next, I'm supposed to reinstall QuickTime 6.... MEANWHILE, on an Apple QuickTime Web page, it says that QuickTime 7 Pro REQUIRES QuickTime 7. The Apple Support email also suggested that I cannot use QT 7 Pro unless I have OS X Tiger. The email seems fat fetched, but the on-line info doesn't help either. What do I have to do to get QuickTime 7 Pro running? I've paid in full for the privilege. Thanks.

Before I went to the Apple online store to buy QuickTime Pro, I already had QT 7.0.3 on my Mac OS X, 10.3.9, system. I paid for QT 7 Pro and got the "key"/registration email from Apple.
