Surplusmeter - what type of connection do I have?

I have a high-speed internet "stick", it plugs into my USB port. My service provider (telus) has a 5GB monthly cap for data transfer. I've downloaded a free program called SurplusMeter, that monitors internet usage.
I don't have a router or anything else, just one computer.
I'm not sure what setting I should use in SurplusMeter where it asks what type of connection I have. The options are "PPP modem, ethernet port, airport, network card, adaptor"
what should I have it set to? any help would be much appreciated!

When in doubt, try them and see. Maybe start with adapter? Download a small file and see if it records the usage.

  • What type of connection should i use?

Not sure if i should i post this here or web tier api's, but here goes...
I have a servlet in a tomcat webserver and i want it pass information between it and a standard j2se application running on the same machine.
I'm not sure what type of connection i should use?
    DataStream?
    Socket?
    HttpConnection?
    Any other recommended method?
Or if i need a network connection like that at all?
    Thanks for the help

The most straightforward method would be to use rmi since both are running java. that is the least amount of work on your part in terms of managing connections and data marshalling. any of the other solutions add more burdens in one or both of these areas.

Reports: Reports consist of data, which is expected to be reveiwed or checked the transaction taken in said period. Reports are useful for analysis of decision taking for future activities.

  • Need a query to  determine what type of access an account have in ERP

Need a code to check what type of access an account (username) and its responsibilities have in ERP - Is it Inquiry only or it have update access and/or ability to run concurrent jobs.
    It means
A column (Has Update Capabilities?) should be placed in a report where there are different columns containing Form Name etc.
    It should display like below
Update Capabilities --> Put Yes in this field
No Update Capabilities --> Put No in this field
Job Scheduling Capabilities --> Put 'Yes - Job Scheduling'
    Thanks in Advance.

    What I mean is,
Where can I know the update capabilities for a Form or a function
I was asked by my manager to make a report to input the UserName so that the output displays the UserNmae and its associated Responsibilities and the Menu prompts registered with the responsibility(Tree Structure) and the User Form Name and User Function Name and the Update Capabilities.
For the Update Capabilities I have to display 'Yes' if the form/function has update capabilities or not.
And have to check whether it has Job Scheduling Capabilities or not.
For this (Update Capabilities), which tables I have to refer?
    Thanks.

  • What type of bag do you have?

Hello everyone, I am trying to decide which type of bag to get (sleeve, backpack, or side bag). So I was just wondering what type all of you have gotten and what your reason for getting it is. Thank you so much for any input as I it will greatly help me in my decision.

I don't own the ViperM2 by Booq yet, but I've seen it in action and will soon:
    http://www.booqbags.com/Detail.bok?no=542
It's designed for the MBP. So, it fits snug, is rigid and durable, and is formed with ridges for better impact protection. You can also unzip this sleeve quickly and can flip the cover back and leave the MBP inside to keep it protected while in use (or protect your legs if your MBP gets hot).
I recommend a sleeve of any sort because then you're covered for whatever situation your laptop may be transported in: a shoulder bag, backpack, seat of your car, etc.

  • What type of connection

would Clearwire, a wireless connection, be considered?
Trying to fine tune my WRT54GX4 router.
    Thanks for your help.

In the basic setup window, in the internet connection  type, choices are given for cable and dsl. As my connection is a wireless, I am looking for the best choice to use.
My connection speed varies from a low 250kbps to 1.5mbps. Clearwire suggusts the router my be causing the problems. They are seperated by about 4 1/2'. I also have a 1.9ghz cordless phone extension in the room. I am looking for the best configuration setup for the arrangment that I have.

  • What type of fans do you have on your iMac 20"

    I looked up the http://scienceman.com/pgs/00_imacG5.html
and found out my fans are original models like the pictures shown on the left.
I got my iMac this late September and was wondering if it's something to do with the fan noise issue.
So does anyone like to see what fans do you have?

    Jurgan and Richard,
The internals of the 20-inch iMac G5 are different than the internals of the 17-inch model. While the major parts are in the same general area, different components are used.
The first photo at apple-history.com is that of a 17-inch model. The second photo is that of a 20-inch model. The photos at the blog website are also those of a 17-inch model.
For good comparison views, look at the iMac G5 DIY instructions found here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300205
Specifically, look at the 17-inch upper fan instructions and the 20-inch upper fan instructions.
I hope this clears things up.

  • What type of plan should I have? My bill is way too high.

I have 2 smartphones on my plan. Currently we have unlimited talk and text and 6gb of data. We have never gone over 600 minutes or 5000 texts. (we text alot) but we do use all of our data every month. (I have to connect my laptop to our mobile hotspot to do my homework for college) Is there a plan I can change to so I can save some money. Even if its only $30-$40 it would help alot. Our bill is almost $200 a month! I could lower the data to 4 but that is the lowest I could do it. Someone Please Help Me Figure This Out !!!

Change to Share Everything Plan - unlimited talk and text, 6 GB of data: $160 + usual taxes and fees
4 GB of data: $150 + usual taxes and fees

  • How do I find out what type of hard drive I have?

I recieved a message from Apple that I had to have my 1TB Seagate hard drive replaced.  However, when I look in "About this Mac," it says my memory is a "4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3".  I don't know whether this "memory" is the same as my hard drive.  Does this means that the message reached me incorrectly?  I am not sure whether this is an Intel so sorry if I asked the question on the wrong board.

And if you want to verify that your hard drive is indeed under the current recall you can enter your machine serial number on this apple site:
    http://www.apple.com/support/imac-harddrive/
It's a good idea to take a look at the Apple recall page every now and then, not all recalls have notifications sent out.

  • What type of iPhone do i have to buy, if i travel a lot?

i want to buy iPhone 5s (in U.S), but i'm afraid that i buy the wrong one, and couldn't use it in other countries.
is it the unlocked phone that i should buy? (sim free)? so that i could use it(change the sim card when i arrive in other countries)??

You want the officially unlocked GSM model, only sold by Apple in the US. Bear in mind, you'll only get LTE in North America, & your warranty/support will only be valid in the US.
