In OS (:C)  Have stupid amount of files that are not in proper places Run Win IE 10 IE browser and bing on touch screen for engine and google.com on the desktop of PC. Looks like files were torn apart, then new folders created. (Diff
Areas)  check properties of file different from previous place. says read and no file path. says 0 files--etc.  Empty. I open properties and there are lists of files  One file {{old windows, windows, $windows!,
program file 32, program files 86,}} windows not updating auto. I ran trouble shoot-   leak in one area but shows my PC no other real details.. says also missing MW 1 and Microsoft corporation 1.0 driver and that they can not locate.  A
x64 file appeared -- where was before ???  no crashes, rest trouble shoot ok. Critical and warnings  on task mgr.- Webroot Plus security disk - perform 99/100.  said today that location folders not found still
99/100 for performance.   Saw TRUSTED INSTALLER one time, then gone. saved that file log. . Found that on task manager.  I looked yesterday and it had ACCOUNT OWNER ADMINISTRATOR and was set as access to all.   Toshiba

Why not just reinstall it?

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

Disabling the computer's security software (firewall and antivirus) usually resolves that error.

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, including separate backups. I'd suggest giving each device a unique name, to make things easier.

You sync music the same way as on the Classic. What you sync to an iPod does not effect the iTunes library on your computer.

I have a 3rd generation iPod Touch and just did the update to IOS 5. Now I can't connect to my Netgear wifi router. My iPhone connects fine along with all of my other laptops etc. I have the router set with WPA-PSK [TKIP] security and an access list.

I've confirmed the mac address is included on that list and that the password is correct. Under choses netwrok I select the network and it just goes into a spin. I have tried removing the password and the access list settings and it still will not complete the connection to the router thus no internet access. The routers firmware is also up to date. This thing worked fine before this update and I've already tried to restore from backup. Any ideas or is the wifi nic bad in this thing with the new apple firmware update? Any fix?

Thanks Bob, I don't know why but it all of a sudden worked a few days later. It's a mystery but at least problem solved.

I have a brand new ipod touch and I cannot get it to synch with my itunes. I have two other Ipod Nano's that will synch up just fine. The computer has windows XP with the latest service pack on it. It does not recognize it as a device in windows, but sees my other two ipods. I have the latest itunes software on it. I even uninstalled it and reinstalled per the apple web site. I connected the ipod touch to another cpmputer and the usb port sees it as a device just fine. What do I need to do to this thing to get this computer to see it?

You don't need two separate libraries to manage two devices.
I suspect the reason that the apps are appearing in both libraries is that you have enabled automatic downloads in iTunes and automatic syncing of apps so that all your purchases end up in both libraries, defeating your original aim.
Why not use a single library and make playlists for the media content you want on each device? Disable Settings > Store > Automatic Downloads > Apps on each device, then connect each device in turn and turn off Automatically Sync Apps on the Apps page.
You can now manage your devices independently, while only having to manage the content of one iTunes library, instead of two.

there is a program called recboot. you can download it for free in two parts. one part takes your device out of recovery mode and the other puts it into recovery mode. ive used it before but it doesnt always work and you have to be patient. try it and tell me what happens

If you are running iOS 3.1.3, it is very likely you have a 1st generation iPod touch. That is the highest iOS version it can handle.
Regardless, you can find plenty of apps in the iTunes store which run on older devices. Here is my favorite solution for filtering compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
And here are some things other people have suggested:
Vintapps 3.1.3 - paid app.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
