Surround sound receiver is causing Apple TV to cut in and out.

My Apple TV is cutting in and out and I think my Marantz surround sound receiver is causing it because when I hook Apple TV directly to the TV it works fine.  I looked at my receivers owner's manual but did not find anything helpful.  Any idea how to resolve it?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Check that the wifi channel is set to the same channel as on your previous router, also check the multicast rate is identical.
If the problem persists, you might also want to see if netgear have a forum or a help number and ask there.

  • 55G310U won't turn on surround sound receiver; 46G300U worked fine

I had a 46G300U connected to a Yamaha RX-V467 surround sound receiver via HDMI. It worked great: when I turned the TV on or off the receiver turned off as well, and the TV remote correctly controlled the receiver's volume.
I replaced the TV with a new 55G310U TV. And while the RX-V467 is correctly recognized as a REGZA LINK device, the TV does not turn it on when it powers up. Worse than that, the sound keeps reverting to the TV speakers, so each time I turn on the TV I must go to REGZA LINK setup and re-select the audio receiver for sound output.
    Has anyone seen this?

I have that same problem, did you ever get an answer?

  • Xfinity X1 - TV Sound Cuts In And Out When Connected to Surround Sound Receiver

I'm a fairly new Comcast Xfinint X1 TV and Internet subscriber.  I am experiencing issues with TV sound cutting in and out.  The sound cuts out for 2-3 seconds, all the time.  The Onkyo surround sound receiver has been used without issue on a different cable TV platform so I know there is nothing wrong with the receiver. System set-up. Voice/data modem - Arris Interactive, LLC - tg862gCable Box - Make/Model - PA px001ancSurround Sound Receiver - Onkyo TX-NR609 HDMI cable run from cable box to Onkyo receiver.  HDMI cable run from Onkyo receiver to TV.  I have reset all equipment multiple times with no resolution. Any help would be greatly appreciated as it is very difficult when trying to watch TV.

I highly doubt your modem has anything to do with this because it doesn't have MoCA.However it sounds like you an original green power light Pace DVRs and they are well known to have audio dropout issues. I would replace that DVR with a different version.
Is this problem happening on a specific channel? CBS seems to be having issues lately. I am watching the CMA awards right now and I have heard the volume change a couple times but this is the only channel it is happening on which would suggest it is not Comcast's fault.

My iMac turns on the start up chime sounds, you see the apple icon on the screen and then it just shuts off.  Any ideas?

    Do these two resets:
    SMC RESET
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
The 5 second timing is important to a successful reset.
    PRAM RESET
    Zap the PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • MacBook sound cuts in and out & getting a beach ball a lot.

When I try to play a video the sound either cuts in and out or just stays off. You can barely hear a small popping noise through the speakers. The chisel also lags very band making it impossible to watch, it does not matter if the video is online or on the computer itself.  I also get the beach all allot even sometimes just using Word. Is there any way to fix this without wiping the hard drive?
Here is a video if this will help

Hi I have experienced this problem also, especially when listening to mp3's. At first I thought the quality of mp3 was the cause (as in different encoding quality) but it seemed to happen when playing DVD as well. I don't think a reboot will solve the problem for good, as it happens quite randomly. I have a sneaking suspicion that the internal speakers may be at fault. doesn't hurt to get apple to check it out while under warranty.

  • Sound cutting in and out on Macbook Pro 15 (original) when waking display

When I wake the display from sleep, any audio that was playing when the system went to sleep - or rather, the display went to sleep (ie: pandora, QT movie, etc), immediately starts to cut in and out and gets glitchy. This happens as soon as I move my mouse and get the dialogue box to enter my un/pw to wake from sleep. The only way to resolve it is to quit the application putting out the audio, and then open it up again. Once I do that, the problem goes away.
Currently running 10.6.2, but have had this problem since upgrading to Snow Leopard. I've searched the forums and can't seem to find any answers. There are a lot of vague sound issues with MBP and this is a hard one to "sum up" in the subject line. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've searched the forums and can't seem to find any answers.
Not even quitting out the audio application prior to letting your computer sleep?
Not sure what you have already tried from searching the forums. If you have Applecare, give them a call or take your computer to an Apple store. Let the Geniuses there check it out.

  • Sound cuts in and out

I am running Mainstage 3.0.3 on my MacBook Pro - 13" (early 2011), OS X 10.9.1, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and running on a Samsung 500GB SSD drive. I am plugging in a bass through an M-Audio USB Fast Track.
Using this right now simply to play along with tracks on iTunes (for practice). Used to use Garageband for this, but then I got Mainstage. Mainstage 3 was running fine when I first bought and downloaded it. Not sure what the problem is now, but when I open it and create a new concert (bass-rig) then turn the master volume up, the slider movement is choppy and the sound/signal cuts in and out (more out than in). The only time I can get sound to consistantly come out is if I click on a menu option, like File or Edit or Action, etc... if I click off the menu, the sound cuts back out and I get nothing.
Sound works perfectly fine through Garageband with the same setup.

That's the model of your processor in your HP P6350z. Do you have a discrete (separate) audio card in your PC?  When you purchased your PC did you add a separate audio card?  If not, then go to www.realtek.com and download and install the latest audio drive for the Realtek ALC888S.

I hooked up my Mac to my tv using a mini display port and changed to sound output so that I could get sound from my tv. The sound is coming from my tv, but it is cutting in and out. Is there a way to fix this? Is it the cables I'm using?

  • Surround sound in films causes iTunes to crash

    Hey there.
I recently bought the films Pulp Fiction and Inception. But for me there is a big problem.
Everytime I select the surround option iTunes kind of crashes. The film stops and after a few seconds, if i don't switch back to stereo, iTunes freezes for about
a minute and closes the film then.
I really don't know what to do. Music and films in stereo work fine. And yes I've reinstalled iTunes a couple of times.

For me the surround audio is grey and I cant select it. A few days ago I could still select it but the movie were then silent. Tried both with the amd 7750 hdmi output and with the mainboard (ASRock Fatality Z77 Pro-M) sound card, in both cases I could not see any signal going to the audio device from the windows audio panel.
my pc is connected to a DENON AVR-1911 perfectly capable of interpreting any kind of discrete or encoded 5.1 and it works perfectly with other applications in surround, junt not in itunes...
Tried switching formats bitrates settings, at some point the surround audio track turn grey... Now I am really stuck! Open a call with apple support and I am going to call tomorrow, gonna see what they say about it.

  • LG Blu-Ray Surround Sound Receiver

Hi there, almost 2 years ago I bought an LG Blu-Ray player with the 5 speaker surround sound.  At the time, I lived in an apartment and could position the speakers properly.  However, recently I purchased a house (Yah!), but there isn't a way to run cables from where the TV sits to the rear corners for the rear speakers. I was wondering if there is an adapter to make at least the 2 speakers wireless that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg?
    If not, any other suggestions?
    Thanks everyone!

    Hello Geekgyrl!
Thanks for posting and congratulations on unlocking the Home Owner achievement! I've ran into the situation that you are describing numerous times when working as a Home Theater Installer for Geek Squad.
The first thing I'd need to know is what type of surround system you have. Are you set up with a dedicated receiver and multiple speakers? Or is the blu-ray player the center of the speaker setup?
We do carry a Rocketfish Wireless Kit that should work for you if you have a standalone receiver, and I can personally recommend it after installing quite a few of them myself. It is pretty affordable and a lot easier than going into the attic or crawl space with the random mystery insects.
If the blu-ray player is the center, or you have a home theater in a box, you might want to consider calling our Mission Control dispatch (1-800-GEEKSQUAD) center or visiting your local Best Buy to schedule a Home Entertainment Advisor to visit your home and recommend additional solutions.
I hope this gets you started on your path to an awesome movie night, and let me know if there is anything else I can answer for you!

  • 5.1 mp3 to external surround sound receiver with do

I have a not so new aiwa receiver with dolby surround 5.. A few years ago I had it hooked up to my soundblaster 5. mp3 and it worked well.
On the back under 5. input it has RCA connections for center, subwoofer, front and surround. I am using Bose accoustimass 7 speakers. Which consist of a left right and center speaker with a passi've sub woofer. I have 3 wires with RCA (2 red and white)plugs on one end of each wire and PC audio plugs in the other. When I plug the PC plug into the digital on the card and RCA into center and subwoofer and go to test. I hear a voice say center speaker. (the sound is coming out of the left front speaker) and I hear a voice saying front right (coming out of the center speaker.) and no voice saying front left. I have tried every configuration possible ( I think) and no left front. Even if I change the speaker configuration to video one with 2 speakers or video 2 with 4 speakers and on and on and on.(of course I change the RCA plugs to what channel I am trying) No left front. I have gone to CD and aux for the tv or video or DVD and the left speaker works fine. Just not when hooked up to my sound card. What's the deal? Can the left on the card be blown? MY receiver does not have a digital plug on the back

yup. Yours is just a 4 channel sound card, for Front Left, Front Right, Rear Left and Rear Right speakers. It is seperated with two jacks.
A 6 channel (5.) sound card has a third jack for the center speaker and subwoofer. So if you continue to use your Value card, you will only hear sounds from the Front and Rear, nothing from center and subwoofer.
Its time for an upgrade I say, and since you are getting such a powerful set of speakers, seriously consider an Audigy 2 ZS. A THX-Certified Speakers should go with THX-Certified Sound Card
