    Hi
    JDeveloper online help system has examples of configuring JavaWeb
    server.
    Goto Help system.
    In the "tutorials" book you will find a subtopic "Servlet
    Tutorial" which has help on configuring java web server.
    The other place is in the "Sample Applications" book you will
    find a sub topic "web application for Oracle 8i" which has help
    on deploying the servlet to java web server.
    You will find these examples useful in configuing your env.
    regards

  • Application Exception using @Application not working

    I'm trying to create 2 business application exception using the @Application annotation on my 2 java exception class. The first exception is a StarException class that extends java.lang.Exception (per ejb 3.0 spec). Below is snippet of the class.
    @ApplicationException(rollback=true)
    public class StarException extends Exception {...}.
    As you can tell that this is a check exception and will rollback transaction when it occurred. I have another exception class called StarRuntimeException that extends java.lang.RuntimeException. This is also mention on ejb 3.0 spec and is useful if you don't want to catch the exception on the server side and just throw it and the client will receive such application exception class. Below is a snippet of the class ...
    @ApplicationException(rollback=false)
    public class StarRuntimeException extends RuntimeException {...}.
    By the way I'm using this exception in my wls 10.3 webservices stateless beans (jax-rpc 1.1). Some of the methods throws these 2 exceptions.
    There are 2 problems with this application exception during runtime on the client side.
    1. Regarding StarException, the client can catch this exception when the webservice method throws this exception. The problem is that the error messages is null. Tried both getMesssage() and getLocalizedMessage() are all null.
    2. Regarding StarRuntimeException, the generated client stubs and artifacts does not even throw this exception, therefore it will not the caught. This exception is wrapped inside RemoteException instead.
    Your help are needed. Thanks

    Ok. I figured it out. The url rewrite was missing in the config. Put it there and its working now.

  • Flash Application Exception

    Every time I try to start Flash MX 2004 on a Windows XP Pro
    SP 2 machine, I get the "Flash MX 2004 has encountered a problem
    and needs to close" error window. From the technical information in
    that window, I get:
    Error Signature:
    AppName: flash.exe AppVer: 7.2.0.581 ModName: urlmon.dll
    ModVer: 6.0.2900.3020 Offset: 000037b4
    From the Event Log, I get:
    Faulting application flash.exe, version 7.2.0.581, faulting
    module flash.exe, version 7.2.0.581, fault address 0x0005ebd3.
    I also get this from the event log:
    Faulting application flash.exe, version 7.2.0.581, faulting
    module urlmon.dll, version 6.0.2900.3020, fault address 0x000037b4.
    From the Dr. Watson log I get:
    Application exception occurred:

    When: 3/16/2007 @ 15:30:13.177
    Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)
    What should I do next to troubleshoot this error? I have
    tried reinstalling Flash (but not the entire studio).
    Thank you.

    Thank you for your quick reply. I DLed the 11.1 version and, at this moment, this seems to work fine.

  • Application Exceptions for User Feedback

    Hi all!
    I guess this is a best practice question.
    I have a struts-based web app that contains various forms and fields that the user can interact with. When a user is filling out a form, I want to validate that the information s/he is inputting is correct. Now, for basic validation (valid date, string, number, etc) I plan on using javascript. However, there are some instances where I need to allow the user to submit the form, perform some action in my Action servlet and check to see if the data being submitted is correct (for instance, if a user is submitting a item, I would check against my session object, DB, EJB, etc, to see if it already exists). Now if somewhere down the stack of my methods, a piece of the submitted data is found to be invalid, I want to somehow feed back to the user that this is so by displaying it in a status section on my JSP.
    From what I've read, it looks like I'm dealing with an application exception. So here's what I've come up with:
    //Here's an application exception I created
    public class MyAppException extends Exception {
         String errorCode;
         String errorDescription;
         public MyAppException () {
              super();
         public MyAppException (
              String pErrorDescription) {
              errorCode = null;
              errorDescription = pErrorDescription.toUpperCase();
         public MyAppException (
              String pErrorCode,
              String pErrorDescription) {
              errorCode = pErrorCode.toUpperCase();
              errorDescription = pErrorDescription.toUpperCase();
         //Gets...
         public String getErrorCode() {
              return this.errorCode;
         public String getErrorDescription() {
              return this.errorDescription;
    //And here's the code that uses it
    public class ThisAction extends AdmAction {
    public ActionForward perform(
         ActionMapping          pMapping,
         ActionForm               pForm,
         HttpServletRequest pRequest,
         HttpServletResponse pResponse) throws ServletException {
    try{
    this.doSomething();
    catch (MyAppException e){
    pRequest.setAttribute("aToUsrMsg", e.getErrorDescription());
    catch (Exception e){
    e.printStackTrace();
    public void doSomething() throws MyAppException, Exception{
    try{
    SomeClass.someMethod();
    catch(MyAppException e){
    throw new MyAppException(e.getErrorDescription());
    catch(Exception e){
    e.printStackTrace();
    throw new Exception(e.getMessage());
    public static class SomeClass throws MyAppException, Exception{
    public static someMethod(
    try{
    if (SomeConditionExists){
    throw new MyAppException("You did something wrong");
    catch(Exception e){
    throw new Exception("Unexpected:" + e.fillInStackTrace());
    The problem instead of the application continuing as it should, reporting the app exception to the user, it halts and prints out the stack trace. Am I approaching this incorrectly?
    Thanks for your help!
    Leo

    try{
    if (SomeConditionExists){
    throw new MyAppException("You did something wrong"); // (1)
    catch(Exception e){ // (2)
    throw new Exception("Unexpected:" + e.fillInStackTrace());
    }Since MyAppException extends Exception, if MyAppException is thrown in (1), it will be caught in (2) and will later get "converted" to an ordinary Exception.

    i am not able to hear any sounds of games on the speaker. Though the sounds function on the head fones. The speaker works perfect in other applications except games.Have checked all the settings but not able to fix it.

    Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound. Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and its the icon; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
    If that doesn't solve it then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

    Since you want to use a class that is not part of your EJB environment you cant access it.
    Like you said your ELUWS14 class is part of your web project, most likely to be inside a war. And the session bean inside an ear.
    If you need that class on both environments (session beans and web components) the best approach is to create a JAR file and include it there. If it is going to change a lot then the best approach is to have it on your ear (EJB side), and your web components should call the session beans method to invoke operations.
    Your business rules should not access your presentation layer:
    EJB -> Web components Not a good idea
    EJB <-> Web components Not a good idea
    EJB <- Web components This is the way to go
    So, web components should access classes from the ear, and not viceversa. This is why containers make ear classes accesible to web component, and not in the other way

  • Return an application exception from RFC

    Hi,
    my scenario is File -> XI -> RFC.
    I want to send by email any application exception returning from the RFC call.
    Since this is a Asynch call how do i implement it?

    Hi Mushon,
    ok. If i understood your scenario right, your message flow should be like:
    File->BP (asynchronous)
    BP<->RFC1 of R/3 (synchronous)
    RFC1 <-> RFC2 (synchronous) inside of R/3

  • All Office 2010 applications (except Access) Fail to Open - Operation has been cancelled error

    Hi,
    I have a strange issue on a Win 7 PC with Office 2010 Pro Plus 32bit installed. All applications except Access fail to open with the following error 'The operation has been cancelled due to restrictions on your computer'.
    This is whilst logged on as the domain administrator. I have seen forums mentioning this effects hyperlinks within Outlook and the fix is to make IE the default and reinstall Chrome. I have tried this to no avail.
    I have tried running a repair and completely re installing Office.
    Any advise would be greatly received.
    Thanks
    Ed

    You have a completely different symptoms, even though the error message is the same.
    Could you please try to right click and run Office application as administrator?
    If it works in this mode, this issue is caused by permission setting. Double-check whether your account gets the enough permission to read/write the C drive. If no, add your account to Administrators group or directly add the security permission for your
    account on Drive C.

  • Why customize application exception this way?

    hi
    i found too different ways to customize a same application exception
    they actually work the same way but with a little difference that i can not figure out why
    the first one is
    public class BaseAppException extends Exception {
        static final long serialVersionUID = -5829545098534135052L;
         * the message of the BaseAppException.
        private String exceptionMessage;
         * A public constructor for BaseAppException containing no arguments.
        public BaseAppException() {
         * A public constructor for BaseAppException specifying exception message.
         * <p>
         * @param msg
         *            exception message.
        public BaseAppException(String msg) {
            this.exceptionMessage = msg;
        }it uses a private member "exceptionMessage" to store the exception message
    and here is the second piece of code
    public class BaseAppException extends Exception {
        static final long serialVersionUID = -5829545098534135052L;
         * A public constructor for BaseAppException containing no arguments.
        public BaseAppException() {
         * A public constructor for BaseAppException specifying exception message.
         * <p>
         * @param msg
         *            exception message.
        public BaseAppException(String msg) {
             super(msg);
    //        this.exceptionMessage = msg;
        }this one passes the message to the base throwable
    both works but i am wondering why define a private string memeber for message storing and not pass it to the base throwable??

    I'm not sure what you're trying to do here, but at
    first glance "TestK t = new TestK();" inside the for
    loop seemed unusual.
    If you place it before the loop it works fine.I guess what he is trying to ask is that why is that if you use the new operator in the code, you donot get the exception while if you dont use it you do get one. While in any case either you use it or not you are supposed to get a new String as per the String API.
    Well thats an interesting observation and I have no explanation as to why is this happening. I do remember that thread where somebody pointed this out as a use of the String(String original) construtor. Furtehr adding on to that the API states about this constructor the following
    Initializes a newly created String object so that it represents the same sequence of characters as the argument; in other words, the newly created string is a copy of the argument string.
    so I donot get why not using it would cause the exception to be thrown. I have tested the code though and it seems to behave as pointed in the original post.
    Interesting question though, food for thought.

  • Application exceptions in ejbStore()

    I'm throwing application exceptions in ejbStore() to reflect failure of the store operation due to violation of a unique constraint in the database. Apparently these get wrapped and returned in a weblogic.transaction.RolledBackException. I tried to import the latter, but it is not found, even though my compiler classpath includes weblogic.jar. Also, I'd prefer to do this without using a vendor-specific exception. For example, it's no problem when doing the same thing in ejbCreate to extract the nested application exception out of the RemoteException. Any ideas for ejbStore appreciated!

    An application exception should extend java.lang.Exception.An application exception does not extend java.lang.RuntimeException or java.rmi.RemoteException.

  • Propagate application exceptions that are in other jar.

    Hello:
    I am trying to deploy an application (call APP-ONE)which has an "applicacion exception" (call App-exp), this extends from another "cross application exception" (call cross-app-exp), and it is on CROSS-APP-EXP.jar.
    The example is:
    APP-ONE.jar
    delegate.java
    class delegate throws App-exp {
    ejb.clase();
    ejb.java
    interface ejb extends remote {
    public void clase() throws App-exp, RemoteException
    CROSS-APP-EXP.jar
    Cross-app-exp.java
    class cross-app-exp extends RemoteException
    Then, my APP-ONE has APP-INF/lib/CROSS-APP-EXP.jar
    When I execute ANT it generates APP-ONE.ear with APP-INF/lib/CROSS-APP-EXP.jar (and other things). When I deployed this, the server launch me the following exception:
    <04-03-2005 01:17:33 PM VET> <Error> <Deployer> <BEA-149201> <Failed to complete the deployment task with ID 0 for the application newMakeAnt.
    weblogic.management.ApplicationException:
    Exception:weblogic.management.ApplicationException: prepare failed for APP-ONE.jar
    Module: APP-ONE.jar Error: Exception

    Unable to deploy EJB: APP-ONE.jar from APP-ONE.jar:
    Compiler failed executable.exec at weblogic.ejb20.ejbc.EJBCompiler.doCompile(EJBCompiler.java:274)
    ¿Where must I put the CROSS-APP-EXP.jar for weblogic server reads that in deploy time?
    Please I need some help.
    Thanks a lot.
