Survey Monkey and SumTotal LMS

I'm attaching a survey on the last page of my wbt. I'm on Cp 5.0 and using a click box to hold the url to my survey. When I use this option, everything works fine with the exception of the reporting on the LMS (SumTotal). It reports "in progress."
When I use the New Window setting, I get my survey opened on a new tab AND in front of this new tab, I get a blank IE window. In order for learners to get to the survey, they have to close the blank window. The good news is, this reports accurately in my LMS.
Any suggestions on how to stop the extra window and get accurate reporting?

Could you please check the version of Captivate you are using to publish (Go to Help > About Adobe Captivate) ?
Also check the version of Scorm you are using , Try switching between Scorn 1.2 to Scorm 2004 or vice versa .
Also try renaming the published output try to keep it simple , means without spacing or any special character.

I published a similar topic a while ago regarding capitivate
2 and sumtotal lms publishing.
I am currently awaiting the latest version of Capitvate,
version 3, and i am in serious need to any and all documentation
regarding how to compile captivate simulations with quizes to track
for SCORM 1.2 successfully and how to publish directly from
Capitvate 3. Does Cap3 have improved publishing capabilities for
SumTotal LMS's?
When i upload the zip file compiled in Captivate the SumTotal
LMS does not regonize what the launch method should be and gives me
the following options:
AICC 2.x HACP - currently this is the only launch option that
works but it does not track at all
AICC 2.x JavaScript
Generic Document
Knowledge Document
Macromedia Authorware
Macromedia Coursebuilder
SumTotal Content API
SumTotal ToolBook
WebEx
The LMS also prompts for a launch file. I need to know what
the best launch type is , and how to configure the zip file.
I have already referenced a document from this site -

documents regarding Captivate 3??
Please tell me Cap3 is more interoperable!!

Hi,
I'm also looking for an easy way to post a Captivate 3 file
to SumTotal 7.2. As I understand the process:
First you have to set the options in the Quiz Preferences
dialog to SCORM 1.2. (Go to Quiz Preferences, select Enable
Reporting, click the Manifest button and select SCORM 1.2 from the
Version drop-down box.)
Then when you publish the file you select Zip files as the
output option.
The next part is tricky. SumTotal requires some extra text in
the manifest file and will not upload the file without it. You need
to open the manifest file, (copy the file and edit it out of the
zip file and then paste it back) and add the attached code. It has
to be written perfectly without any extra spaces. I am having
trouble with this, even using Dreamweaver to edit the XML in the
manifest file. My question is does anyone know how to do this
easily? And/or does anyone have a manifest file with this code in
it that they can share? I'm sure it would help a lot of people.
By the way, there is more information about SumTotal's SCORM
API on their CPC website. If you want to contact me, I can share
with you what I know.

Issue with Captivate 8 and SumTotal Learning Maestro LMS -

I get blank screen when launching course published as SCORM 2004 using Captivate 8. All publish settings are the same as used with Captivate 7 and all course properties and settings are the same in the LMS as courses published using Captivate 7. When course launches, instead of the opening screen from the course, a blank frame appears showing the course playbar and the LMS navigation bar. Opening screen does not appear until the play button on the playbar is clicked. Any idea why this is happening? Below is a screenshot of the blank frame.

Adding additional information about this problem. This appears to be related to issues between Chrome and the Captivate 8 course, but I am not certain exactly why. Today I redid the Captivate 8 file, using a working Captivate 7 file. I published the course using Captivate as a SCORM 2004 course. I tested the course in the SCORM Cloud and it opened correctly to the Opening screen of the course.
Next I uploaded the course to Maestro using IE11 as my browser. The course opened properly when I previewed it from course record. NO blank screen.
I then went into Maestro using Chrome 36 as my browser ( which is what I routinely use) and created another course -- uploaded the same file for this course. The blank screen with the playbar appeared when I previewed the course from the course record.
Still in the LMS with Chrome as the browser, I then went to the course that I had uploaded using IE11 as the browser -- got the blank screen again. Does this confirm that the issue is related to Chrome 36 breaking all Captivate HTML5 content?

Captivate 4 and SumTotal 7.2 - SCORM Template

Hello!
I'm hoping someone has what I'm looking for. Up until last week, we had been using Andrew C's SCORM template with Captivate 3 to publish courses to our SumTotal LMS (version 7.2). Everything worked beautifully!
Now, we've updated to Captivate 4 and are trying to use the same template with Andrew's override behavior, but when we do, it disables any right-click's that we use in the simulation. It also disables the use of variables.
I tried copying Andrew's override variables and functions to the new Captivate 4 template and I can get everything to work correctly except the right-click. Am I missing something? Or does anyone know if Andrew has released a revised SCORM publishing template compatiable with Captivate 4?
*The template we have override's SumTotal's rather annoying urge to prompt for completion before the end of the course.
I have attached the Captivate 3 template we were using, and the one I tried to create for Captivate 4. Any assistance in getting the Captivate 4 one to play nicely with right-click would be great!

Can't get CP7 to refresh SumTotal LMS on exit or update status

Does anyone have the same experience in CP7 not being able to refresh SumTotal LMS on exit or update the course status? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

We've experienced this many times in the past and on our current LMS Learn.com, which is now Taleo.
The problem came when we started using the SCORM 2004 player which launches courses in a frameset. THe Previous 1.2 player launched courses in a popup window. We had to parse the url to exit 1.2 courses run in a 2004 player to the course menu.
The following function (mod_close()) is called after the terminate, we parse all of the user and course info so we can return them to the menu:

Captivate and SumTotal

I read posts that someone (Andrew Chemey) made changes to the
SCORM.html template so CP work with SumTotal LMS, but i cant find
that files anywhere... someone knows where i can find those
files?... they are ralated to send the score at the and of the
Quiz.

I think what you are looking for is the Developers area.
However is a link to it somwhere on this board in one of the email
threads, because it was provided to me when I posted a question
about quizzes flagging early completion when they are put into a
Sum Total LMS. Are you new to using Captivate in the Sum Total LMS?
I'm looking for someone who may be able to assist me with some
challenges I'm having as a new user.

Captivate 3 error on SumTotal LMS

Need help with following error users are receiving from a
Captivate 3 published simulation assessment on SumTotal LMS 7.2:
"A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run
slowly.If it continues to run your computer may become
unresponsive.Do you want to abort the script?"
The simulation assessment was compiled for version 7 of Flash
and was tracked with SCORM 1.2.

No answers here and I am wondering why. I have read past discussions about "Failure captions not displaying" and have noted all
the suggestions but still have not been able to get them working.
Click box is the uppermost (top) item in the timeline...and they are positioned after the slide voiceover so I would have thought there was sufficient time for them to become active.
Getting a little desperate about how to fix this.

I am using Adobe Captivate 4 and would like to attach a link to a Survey Monkey survey to the end of the tutorial I ahve created. Is this possible? If so, how?

To create a hyperlink to survey monkey survey use the following steps:
1. Insert a Click Box on to the last slide or from where you want to open the survey monkey.
2. Now In the properties window "On success" choose "Open URL" and then provide the link that you want to open.
3. This will allow you to open the external URL from the tutorial.

Using Media Monkey and ITunes help

I have used Media Monkey for years to sync, burn, play... (I used to have a Sansa Mp3). I like the interface much better on Media Monkey and my children find it easier to just pull up and play music. We now have 2 ipod in our family and I am trying to get used to Itunes-not a fan yet. I want to make sure that I am not doubling up on my downloads. Can I save everything from my ripped cds to my music folder only. Sounds like Itunes automatically creates a back up folder?? Also, how do I move a song without it losing it's path in Itunes. I downloaded to my desktop so the songs were easy to find, after I added them to Itunes and Media Monkey I moved them to my music folder and Itunes could not locate the songs. So I guess overall I am trying to understand the most efficient avenue to download to Itunes and Media Monkey.

To my disappointment I have just Uninstalled Media Monkey. I was hoping to purchase the full license but the program is still in its development stage. It is full of bugs.
1) The Tech support didn't even try to solve the problems 2) The tagging of files is useless. 3) creating playlists is problematic (it won't let you put the tracks in the order you want)
The best program for ripping is Nero. I have to use itunes for syncing and updating.

Survey Suite and Marketing Attributes

Hi there,
I just have a problem concerning oure Survey suite in CRM5. I created some test surveys, because this is very new to me. When I create a normal survey with questions and answerd, then it is displayed correct in the PCUI Framework of oure SAP Portal. When I use the function "add questions from marketing attributes" then everything seems to be fine, the questionaire looks good, the questions and answers are there, but when I try to test it in the Activities (PCUI or GUI) then nothing is there, only the normal questions generated.
Is there a difference between normal questions and thoose generated from marketingattributes?

Not sure about the Activities folder, but I always create my Survey's in the Marketing folder of Survey Suite and our survey's display the questions and write the answers to the attributes.

ITunes u on site hosting and any LMS tie in for authentication

We were not lucky enough to get grandfathered into having Apple host content for our institution with regard to iTunes U. Just wanted to see how others have configured the onsite hosting of their content, authentication, and any LMS tie-ins.
We’re currently working on installing/configuring the Vanderbilt Bb Extension for iTunes U. Just wondering if there is an easier or better way to set this up.

To the best of my knowledge, Apple no longer will host content. You have to provide your own hosting.

Read CRM Survey question and answers

Hi,
I have a requirement, where-in I need to read the Survey question and answers.
I am able to read the order data using CRMD_ORDER_READ and able to retrieve the xml id from the table CRM_SVY_DB_SVS. But unable to go further and retrieve the Survey data in text format.
Any suggestion would be of great help and I promise to reward all the helpful answers.

Firefox freezes on sites into which I enter info, like survey sites and especially facebook. On a particular survey site, I filled in the dots for how much I like or disliked their product. After I was done, my firefox screen went grey and my computer became unresponive. I had to shut it down via task manager. The biggest problem is with face book. If I write long messages then I am okay... most of the time. It's inconsistent. But the result is usually a grey screen and I must follow the procedure above. I tried the same thing on myspace and oddly I didn't have this problem. Also, on facebook, while typing a message it will not scroll down when I get to the end of the page, such as this page just did now. Therefore I can't see what I'm writing at certain points. I recently reinstalled Vista Premium Home edition and then installed the newest version of firefox. Everything was fine til yesterday. So I reinstalled firefox and change my lag time to -1, but that didn't help either. Had a problem with adobe earlier too, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. That's all I can think to tell you. Thanks for the help!

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. How do I set the window size of a course in SumTotal (LMS)

I recently created an AICC course using Captivate 5.5 for a client using SumTotal as their LMS. When the client loads the course, the course launchs in a window that is smaller than the course itself; the user then has to adjust the window size to view the entire course. I have read on various posts that this cannot be controlled by myself through the .htm file settings, and that this has to be set within the LMS.
So my question is: Where and how does the client set the course window size within SumTotal? Does anyone know?!

No, edit the html files that come with Captivate. Either hand edit the
html file that is produced every time you publish, or locate the files
in the Captivate 5 directory and customise them to suite your needs.

Presenter 10 and Pathlore LMS

What settings are required for a published SWF file from Presenter 10 to play in Pathlore LMS? When the SWF file is dowloaded and played locally, it plays fine in IE8, but the same file when placed on Pathlore, does not load and leaves the user with a white, blank screen. Help!!!

I was hoping we would find someone in the Adobe Community that could help us resolve the issue, since I don't have much faith in the SumTotal Tech Support. They've been working on this issue for more than a week and I've heard there are multiple complaints regarding this issue. I have seen posts online that people have been successful playing a published Adobe Presenter SWF on Pathlore. Just need one of those folks to clue us in!
