Surveys without comments

Is there any way to disable the users' ability to post comments on a Survey? For example, we would only want to let the users vote, but not comment.
The User guide doesn't appear to say so. I did a fresh survey, and the option did not appear.

Adobe Reader drawing without Comment Tools or Method to set "Make Properties Default" without popup

Hi everyone,
Spending a few days to find a solution for drawing lines, polylines, polygons, circles, rectangles, etc. It looks like a "dead end" since I want to develop a plugin for Adobe Reader that can draw custom Lines, Polylines, Polygons, ... (objects I can set my styles without using built-in style dialog). I want to use my custom dialog to set styles and do drawing without using Comment Tools. The problem is: when I use AVPageViewDrawingProc callback, I can draw only rectangle, polyline, polygon, no way to draw circle, text, etc.
Another solution is to use Comment Tools. But when changing between tools I want to apply my styles to the tool (line color, text color, text size, ...), like the way you right click on an annotation and select "Properties", then mark "Make Properties Default" as checked before selecting "OK". I don't want to show the dialog to confuse user when he changes tools. So, is there any API method to help me selecting an annotation and mark this selected annotation to be default styles?
I still can't find a way to change text size of FreeText realtime.
Anybody can help me?

If I were building something like this, I would have my plugin create custom annotations. You can draw whatever you want in the appearance of the annotation.

Can you identify respondents to a survey without asking for a name?

Does any one out there know how to create a survey on forms central, send out the survey link, perhaps appending an additional identifier to the link which i am tracking against my own internal database and then use that as an identifying field in the view responses sections.
I really like the way the survey works in forms central and am about to get a paid subscription but i need to figure out how i can track/indentify responses without hassling people for names etc.
Let me know if anyone has any ideas.

It was more effort than it was worth moving to another product, so i just made the call to ask people for their names.

Highlight Tool without comments?

Is there anyway to simply highlight text without adding a popup comment box with Adobe Reader 9? I tried looking online to no avail, and I tried other Comment and Markup Tools, but they all have the popup. If I have no choice, I guess I can live with it, but I don't really have a use for the comments box and I feel like the document would look cleaner without them. Any and all help is appreciated.

Try playing around with the settings under Edit - Preferences - Commenting
I think it's the one called "Create new pop-ups aligned to the edge of the document", but it might be something else on that page.

JDeveloper wont start without commenting out setjavahome in jdev.conf

Jdeveloper crashes on start. Running jdev.exe in console I get a "Duplicate handle failed" error from java. If I edit the jdev.conf and comment out the line SetJavaHome.... then Jdeveloper will start after being prompted to find java.exe. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling. Any suggestions appreciated:

Please don't post grepped log output - grepping can be useful if you know what you are looking for - but if you knew what to look for you wouldn't be posting here. Please post the full log (or put it on a file-sharing site and post the link to it).
The output you have posted indicates that X exited successfully. The most common cause of this is an empty (or faulty) ~/.xinitrc. Do you use startx/xinit or how do you start X? What is in your xinitrc?
Also, could you elaborate on which ATI drivers you are using? Do you have the open source xf86-video-ati or one of the closed-source options? If this is xf86-video-ati, why do you have an xorg.conf at all, it shouldn't be needed? If, instead, this is a closed-source driver, where did you get the content for the xorg.conf?

Use Tabs to position your text and type where the tab starts.

I would like to implement this.
How exactly does the recipient send the survey to SAP CRM system? I know that PAI can create a document with survey in CRM. In this case the survey is linked to an email. I have never seen loose surveys (without document) in CRM.
Am I supposed to have an integracion with an contact of type email where the survey answers will be saved in case the marketing contact anwers the survey?

First of all, I am not sure in which scenario you are using. In my earlier reply, my answer was broad too since i am not aware of which scenario you are using.
Your survey attribute might be having PAI module attached which creates/changes a lead on checking the process mode. Process calls CRM_SVY_LEAD_PAI_CREATE to create a lead.If this is not successful, it will raise the message to stop.
Therefore, You should also check if you create a lead through crmd_order Is it created error free?
one more point is: You can not use Lead survey and Lead PAI/PBO for URL.Sending an url to a business partner is a Marketing scenario hence only marketing survey and PBO/PAI should be used.
Lead survey and it's PAI/PBO should be used only when you create lead in crmd_order transaction and want to determine the relevant survey during creation.
Do you want to create lead through campaign execution or want to use Campaign automation application for the same ?
If your scenario is to send an e-mail to a business partner and as soon as he replies to the response , for each reponse you want to generate a lead.
For above scenario, you have to model the scenario in campaign Automation application.

Commenting tools available with SDK in v. 9?

I have an application which opens a PDF file in Acrobat, using the SDK, and allows the user to add comments/annotations and then save the document. I have been unable to use Acrobat 7 or 8 in my application because the commenting toolbar is unavailable unless a comment repository has been configured - this is unsuitable to my application, I need the changes to be saved directly to the PDF on the users's computer.
I wonder if anyone can confirm or deny that this behavior will be the same in Acrobat 9. My users are having problems because they are stuck using Acrobat 5 or 6, both of which have stability and compatibility issues.

I was assuming there would likely be some folks reading this forum who have seen the product in beta. Sorry if I didn't make that assumption clear.
With regard to your other questions, I am using the methods documented in the Acrobat Interapplication Communication Reference, specifically the OpenInWindowEx method of the AcroExch.AVDoc class. And no we are not using Adobe Reader, we are using the full Acrobat product.
I'm not sure how to answer your request for more information about my application details. As I said, the application displays a PDF file in a window, using the API calls mentioned above, the user adds comments to the PDF and the application causes the changes to be saved by invoking the appropriate API call. I can't think of any other information that would be relevant, regarding how our application works.
The OpenInWindowEx method, when used with Acrobat 7 or 8, will cause an Acrobat window to appear, but without commenting tools, unless a "comment repository" has been configured in the Acrobat preferences. I don't have the relevant version of Acrobat installed, so I can't be more specific than that at the moment. The use of a comment repository is totally unsuitable to the nature of my application, as I stated before, so I am stuck using older versions of Acrobat.

Submit unique surveys to a website?

I have about 1600 unique surveys (each one had different options). Currently I am sending using Acrobat mail merge with an email javascript. But even with the enabled form, some people are having a hard time sending it back to me (unable to use the submit button AND unable to save their filled out answers). I would be able to get a better response rate if I could have people submit their forms to a website. Can I do this with unique surveys? How? The Adobe Forms Central looks more like I could send ONE regular survey, but not many unique surveys without having to send them all individually..

You get that problem if you select the Firefox program to handle a file if you get an "open with" dialog.

Is it possible by AppleScript to save or export in Pages.app a document without comments?

Summarize Comments or Print With Comments -- Wasting Paper

In 6.x pro, when I would summarize (or print with) comments and connector lines on a single page, the output file (or printed output) would include only those pages with comments. In 7.0, you get a page that says "no comments on this page."
It would be nice to have the option of not printing pages without comments. If you have a book, finding the one or two pages with comments can be a pain.

I've developed a tool that allows a much more efficient comments summary to be created.

IWeb issues with comments

I have read through many posts about this issue but have not been able to resolve my problem. I have been running my iweb site with a domain since the beginning of the year. I have had issues with the comments form not loading properly before but it has always fixed itself. The problem I am having currently has been going on for almost 10 days now.
I have reloaded my site many times. I have uploaded it without comments, and then with comments again. I have checked my DNS hosting and it is being routed to web.me, I have checked mobileme and my domain is web.me, I have checked iWeb and it has @me.com. Yet, when the comments form loads it goes to mac.com. I have tried this on my hubby computer and it seemed to load fine, yet on my computer and those of some of my friends, have said they are unable to load.
I am very frustrated and don't know where to head next. I am computer savvy but not enough to get into code and all that. Is anyone able to help me?

Same problem here. The form to add comments on an iWeb blog published on MobileMe is broken. It doesn't load all the objects correctly, and site visitors cannot comment. I wonder if it's some kind of server-side error. When using Safari's JavaScript debug console, I get this:

Commenting functionality for blog pages

Does anybody have any information as to when/how Apple might be planning to address a horrible oversight in an otherwise solid 1.0 release... NO COMMENTS!
Is a blog really a blog without commenting functionality? I realize I could publish to a folder and then tweak the code to add a third party service like Haloscan, but that kind of defeats the "one-click" appeal of iWeb. I am still surprised to see that this software made it out the door without some implementation of a commenting solution.
I would be happy with either an Apple proprietary system via a future update OR the ability to insert snippets of code right in the iWeb workspace from third party commenting services. Either way, currently my blog is just a series of static articles without the communal discussion aspect that commenting provides. It's very frustrating when you look at all the other blogging options out there, and nearly every single one allows for comments.
Apple, please don't make us wait until 2007 and another $99 Family Pack to address this crucial oversight! Otherwise, I really love this software. I'm rebuilding my own blog and site with it

SUS survey send working funny and BP transfer so two questions

Hi all
When a vendor registers via the weblink a BP is create is SUS client. This is fine. However, my system for some reason is sending the survey without me having to click on Send Survey Pre-select vendors. I only want the survey to send once I select the accept the prospect and send the survey. I don't want them to get the survey in case I reject them.
Additionally when I attempt to transfer the vendor to the backend from Manage business partner > transfer the vendor leaves the prospect list but there is nothing in the supplier monitor and the vendor does not transfer to the back end. I've maintained the SBM_PRESCREENING in the buyer attributes against the Cat ID.
Any thoughts on these two issues?

HI Tracey,
As soon as suppliers fill in the initial registration form and select certain product categories, they will be sent questionnaires pertaining to those categories and you as a buyer can accept/reject them based on their response. This is standard system behaviour.
By vendor transfer to backend, do you mean transfer to ECC?

CRM Survey BW Answers

Hello,
In SAP CRM 2007 I have the following problem - I have created a survey without the "Evalution in Business Information Warehouse" flag set. Now, I have around 100-150 filled surveys and I need to extract them to BW for reporting but I'm not able to do it.
I have flagged the "Evaluation in Business Information Warehouse" and the extraction is working only for the new created surveys.
Do I have any option/solution to extract in BW the older surveys filled before the flag was set ?
