SUS Configs...

Hi all,
Iam totally new to SUS. The XI settings is done.
I wanted to know what all we have to set from SUS side to send a PO from MM. I read the buss.config guide, but certain things i was not clear.
In the SXMB_moni iam able to see that the tranfer is happening. I just need to know the settings for SUS.
We have kept the SUS in a seperate client.
1. Do we need to maintain an org. structure in the SUS client?
2. What kind of org. structre...
3. where should i associate when i replicate the vendors.
4. how do we create the BP for the buyers..

I know this is a dated thread, but since I'm seeing the same behavior currently, I didn't see any reason to start up a new one w/ the exact same symptoms. I rebuilt a MacBook w/ a 10.6.6 installer and was surprised to find that most updates from my 10.6.8 Server SUS were not "visible" to the client, including the 10.6.8 v1.1 combo updater.
This may be a larger issue w/ Apple's catalogs (which I believe are causing 10.5.8 Leopard SUS to bail out w/ an error when checking for new updates), as pointing to another 10.6.8 server on another network entirely results in the same problem. I'm not missing ALL of the updates on the MacBook, just MOST of them, your Safari 5.1.7 above included. Another is GarageBand 6.0.5. So, for comparison, on a 10.8 test Server SUS, I downloaded and enabled both of those updates and pointed the MacBook to it. They show up immediately on the MacBook.
Are any of you experiencing this currently? And if so, do you have any points of comparison on other SUS machines by chance? Again, I'm thinking this has something to do w/ the upstream catalogs that Apple is putting out.

SUS BADI and the XI CONFIG

We are on Extended Classic Scenario in EBP and we are using SUS to create PO . But we still need to pass invoices to SAP R/3.
I guess we can achieve this by custom development in the areas of SUS BADIs and the XI layer configuration. Can somebody share which badi's to use and what kind of XI config changes will be required ?
Can you pleaes give me a path for the complete SUS Config with XI settings .

PO changes to be sent as XML format

Hello SRM gurus,
I need to send newly created or changed PO's to a legacy system. I am using SRM 7.0 and there is no IDOC type for a PO. I have done some research and the way to go as recommended is using XML. I am using PI. I am not familiar with using XML but after doing all the research I have found that I need to create a RFC enabled function module and do the set up using SM59.
Please advise how I would position the function module so that it would be triggered when the PO is created or changed (I guess a suitable BADI in the PO process) and also would the function module need to output a structure to be sent as a XML file.
I am new to XML procedures so please correct me if some of my assumptions are incorrect.

To generate an XML message in PO you would first need to set up XI connectivity in your SRM system. Contact an XI expert for this. Some of the common steps for this are:
SM59-HTTP connection to XI, TCP/IP connection for XI servers
SXMB_ADM
SLDAPICUST
Define backend systems
You can refer to EBP-SUS config guides (Service procurement with Supplier integration ) for doing XI connectivity. Once it is done, you will need to maintain vendor output medium as XML. After this any PO created will generate an XML message automatically. Based on your XI mapping, it will be routed to legacy system.

Where is the auditd configuration file?

Acorrding to a documentation here, there is a file called /etc/sysconfig/auditd. It's the configuration file of auditd. But :
jack ~ $ locate audit | grep etc
/etc/audit
/etc/libaudit.conf
/etc/audit/audit.rules
/etc/audit/auditd.conf
not such file obviously.

And why do you think some random SUSE tutorial is more right than the package's documentation?
Have a look, it's really short:
$ man auditd
By the way, this is a great example why Arch forums are so strict about providing support only for Arch: either this SUSE config file is in custom location (moved there by SUSE developers), or this tutorial is outdated.
Edit:
It seems /etc/sysconfig/auditd is not auditd's configuration file, but its service's config. This is done through systemd now.

SOFTWARE related superdrive issues!!!

The problems with the superdrive on my iMac G4 started with the upgrade to 10.4.9 an still persist with 10.4.10.
The problem is quite simple, the DVD drive does not recognize any previously burned DVD-R (1X or 2X) disks. It reads CDR's without problems, it even reads DVD+R.
The G4 takes some time to recognize a previously burned CDR at slower speed, but it works. It fails to write a CDR at slower speed but CAN write and later read a CD burned at fastest speed.
It simply cannot read any music CD's (it sits inside the drive and later spits it out).
It CAN read commercial DVD movies.
It CANNOT read DVD -RW previously recorded media.
The drive is a SONY DVD RW DW U10A revison A13b
The problem is not the media as I can easily read all the aforementioned disks in my Powerbook G4.
What is happening? help anybody?

run this command on your client machines to confirm their SUS config:
defaults read /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL
run one of these commands on say two client machines to confirm the SUS config issue is DNS related:
defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL http://1.2.3.4:8088/index.sucatalog
defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL http://5.6.7.8:8088/index.sucatalog
server1 ip: 1.2.3.4 subt for configured server ip address

Vmware-config-tools.pl doesn't work after installing vmi-enabled kernel in SUSE 10 SP 2

I have recently updated my SUSE 10 SP2 to VMI enabled kernel download from Novell. Now I can't run vmware-config-tools.pl it is not finding C header files that match my running kernel. I get following error message "What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your running kernel? /usr/src/linux/include"
Following is my kernel version
Linux 2.6.16.60-0.33-vmi #1 SMP
Please let me know what i need to do to successfully run vmware configuration.

Config Suse 9 and Oracle Database 10g

Hi,
I'm trying to install Suse 9 with Oracle 10g on a HP DL380 server and I need some information (This will be an environment for Portal applications):
1) Can SuSE SLES run ok with Processor Hyper Threading (PHT)?
2) What kind of RAID is better for this kind of installation: 1 or 5?
3) System comes with blocksize 512. Is this ok for oracle or we must change to 8.192?
4) Is there any major issue I must know before starting?

Hyper Threading is supported in linux since version 2.4.??. Suse's SLES 9 comes with a far more actual kernel and therefore - yes, it will work on a PHT-system.
RAID-Level 5 is good for the normal stuff: binaries, user files like documents, sheets, a.s.o. but lacks of performance for database operations. Better use RAID1 or RAID 10 and a lot of disks - minimum 5 separate disksets to avoid concurrent disk operations which slow down your database rapidly!
Well, having the operating system and oracle core on a RAID5 (min. 3 disks) is a good start. On the HP (Compaq) DL380 you will run out of mounting options for your disks - you have only six bays for harddrives. This is IMHO not the best choice for a database maschine, as long as you don't use external storage arrays.
The blocksize topic is far more complex to describe. For this and your fourth point, I advise you to read the oracle documentation as a first start. Needless to say that the ORACLE PRESS have some very good written books covering the whole area of database administration (DBA).

Compiling Apache 1.3.9 & PHP 3.0.12 to use Oracle 8.1.5 on SuSe 6.2

I am trying to compile the above packets but am running into massive problems.
PHP3 compiles well, if i try to use the "normal" static module for Apache, but the Apache configure script says that it needs an ANSI C compiler and stops.
I am using GCC 2.7.2.3 with the bugfixes from SuSe.
Since that did not work I tried the configuration as a Dynamic Module. The Apache "Readme.config" explains two ways to do so, but the first has the same problem with GCC and the second (via APXS) compiles Apache without problems, but PHP3 wont compile since it does not find a library. The exact error is: "/usr/i486-linux/bin/ld: cannot open -lclntsh: No such file or directory"
I found a libclntsh.so.8.0 in the oracle/lib directory, but since i fumbled around with this library (i tried ln -s libclntsh.so.8.0 libclntsh.so) sqlplus says libclntsh.so.8.0: cannot find file data: no such file or directory (even now that the link is deleted again).
And PHP still wont compile. Any ideas would be welcome.
P.S.: Is it normal that Oracle has to be told NOT to create a database during install, TO create a database???
We worked for 3 days on the Oracle installation and that was the only way to install Oracle without errors.

How can I set Firefox (in about:config?) to NEVER bother me with update notifications?

Welp, the question says it all. Or almost all of it. I DETEST the latest, MENU-LESS version of Firefox (and it DOESN'T help that, by standing on my head and spitting wooden nails in a particular direction, I CAN actually find everything contained in the old menus), and therefore I force-installed the previous version (28.0), but my problem is that I am still pestered with prompts that urge me to upgrade to version 29.0. I resent THE HELL OUT OF THAT! I resent ANYTHING NANNY-LIKE that is IN MY FACE!
So, I thought that by setting certain app.update parameters, I could be rid of that UPDATE SCOURGE - and in fact, it seems to have worked on my Linux-only desktop - but, alas, no, it is still there, still very much IN MY FACE on my dual-boot (openSUSE & Win7) desktop PC!
What, then, can I do to be rid of those update prompts? (Note that I am hoping that at some point in a not too distant future, Mozilla will offer, for each new version, a WUS and an I'M THE MAN variant, where the latter allows the user to steer the vehicle, as it were... if this never materializes, then at some point (when I deem Firefox 28.0 to be too unstable to use any longer), I will ditch Firefox in favor of an alternative that retains a semblance of the male's hobby-garage look (as oppose to HER slick, everything-hidden, kitchen-cabinet look!).

I am running openSUSE 13.1 in dual-boot iwith Window 7, and it is only on the SUSE interface that I am having the problem (on Win7, earlier versions allow me to tick a 'don't install anything, ever' box via preferences, rather than having to seek a solution in about:config). Right now I am using Firefox 28.0, having force-downgraded from the latest version.

INstalling 10G on Suse 9.1

I'm trying to install oracle 10G on Suse 9.1.
The Oracle installation guide mentioned the sysctl.config file that must to receive a several Kernel parameters to prepare the environmental. But this file just exist on Red Hat, not in Suse distro..
Could someone tell me on the sister file on Suse I need to do the entries?

ROS (without SUS) and EBP in same client-Transferred BP status?

Friends,
We are working on SRM 7.
The ROS (without SUS) and EBP are implemented on the same SRM client.
In supplier registration process, when the accepted business partner is transferred from ROS to EBP, a supplier is correctly created in EBP client with the same business partner number, but the status of the transferred business partner is not updated from 'ACCEPTED' to 'RELEASED', hence there is risk that user can transfer the business partner again.
As per OSS note 857386, the status released is set automatically by the system when an accepted supplier has been distributed. Also the status is valid only for DISTRIBUTED suppliers, that is, ONLY for suppliers TRANSFERED through OPI.
I understand, if ROS (without SUS) and EBP are deployed on separate clients in same server then when the accepted business partner is transferred from ROS to EBP, system triggers an XI message to update the ROS business partner status to 'RELEASED'. Is my understanding right?
How do we update the transferred business partner status to RELEASED when ROS and EBP are on same client?
