Suspend mode ?? different modes ?? how to ??

Hi,
I would like to better understand how suspend modes are defined. The goal would be able to do stand by, from windows2k and leave the room quite, but being able to start up at a key stroke.
I have a key that would do a standby.... but all fans ( 9 BTW ) remain working.
Another option would be hibernate, which I am ok also, however it is slower. Can I return from hibernate from a key stroke ??.
The BIOS in the MSI K7D Master seem to have at least two or three different modes for stand by....
Any hints appreciated.

K7D Master L, 1GB ram, firewire, usb, fx 5200 VTD128 etc etc.. keyboard is a logitech with an special sleep mode key, like a laptop....

Hi rachel,
Mode transport is saved to the R/3 table TVTR and I don't see any standard middleware object that bring this table into CRM. You might need to create a custom object to map the tables across the systems. Moreover in CRM side this value is maintained as part of a structure and not to a direct transparent table.

How to change backup location in suspend mode?

I am trying to change the backup location in an image that is in suspend mode to different location into different deployment share.
I have tried modifying varialbles.dat in Minint so it will reflect the new location in new deployment share, but it did not work.

How to bring MSSQL database from suspended mode to online mode?

Hi,
I restarted services through SAP MMC & couldnt restart the service. ABAP work processes Ended & disp+work.exe stopped.
I checked all SAP related & SQL related services; they were up, but when i tried logging in to the database it was in Suspended mode. I could not login to the database.
Can anyone tell me the reason for my database going to suspended mode & help me getting my MSSQL 2005 database from suspended mode to online mode??

How to solve NX7009 vPC member port in suspend mode?

I'm deploying a pair of new NX7009 (Sup2, F2 series 48-port 10G modules) and bunch of NX5548 (with expansion module). Connectivity between pair of NX7009 and pair of NX5548 is straight forward: 4 meshed 10G connections in between in vPC. vPC domains and all vPC port-channels are fine except one vPC port-channel between NX7009 pair and one NX5548 pair. One of the NX7009 port in the bundle is put in suspend mode every time it's enabled. The port is configured the same as any other bundled NX7009 ports and the NX5548 port on the other side of the port-channel is also configured the same as any other vPC ports.
Ports can be suspended if incompatibility exists in a port-channel. But in this case, I couldn't find any incompability about this particular NX7009 port.
Any advices? Thanks a lot

Thanks for the reply. vPC is double sided. The ports that were suspended was not physically cabled on one side. After physical connectivity came up, the ports were fine from that point on.
So it was not caused by any LACP misconfiguration. That's good to learn.

This issue has been answered numerous times for Office 2010 and Office 2007, but I have yet to any solutions or Hotfixes that work for Office 2013 (x64) on Win7.
How to replicate the issue:
Open a file from a network share.
Edit file.
Leave computer on with file open. Computer goes to sleep or into stand-by mode.
Wait a bit
Wake up computer
CPU opens file in Read-Only mode and gives you the following error "Word cannot establish a network connection with this document after the system resumed from suspend mode. Save the document into a different file to keep any changes."
What I've tried:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2434898 - Office 2007 registry fixes. Does not apply.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2413659 - Office 2010 problem. This exact issue. Says 'No microsoft products that match this hotfix are installed'
Work Around:
I can saving new versions of these files overrides this issue, but this is sometimes not possible for end-users who only have specific access to ONE SPECIFIC FILE in a particular network share.
Please let me know how I can alleviate this issue!

Please also try to run a repair of your Office 2013 installtion and check if it helps. See:

Trouble with S3 Suspend Mode

Decided to try using S3 suspend mode. Left everything else at default except I enabled USB(my mouse) as a wake-up device. I left "wake-up VGA card" to disabled thinking newer cards should do this automatically(not sure).
Computer fell into Suspend no problem with all fans and drives off. Shouldn't the power LED blink? Mine doesn't.
When I used my USB mouse to wake-up, the computer started a loop of 1-2 seconds of spinning/powering up followed by 3 seconds of deathly quiet . This continued while I tried mouse and keyboard input, holding in power button, pressing reset--No Effect. Cursed a little too but that didn't help either .
Finally, realizing that this continuous power up/power down loop wasn't doing my new equipment any good, I switched off the power supply. Waited a minute. turned power back on. LOOP STARTED AGAIN!
Finally pulled plug and cleared CMOS. Plugged back in and poked the power button....NOTHING! ..... oh yeah, the PSU switch! I've done that about 10 times now!
Anyway it works again but was wondering if anyone else had similar trouble and got the S3 suspend working. I thought I might try enabling the "wake-up VGA" signal but I need a little more time to recover from the last "heart attack".
Comments anyone?

STR-3?? I assume you're talking about normal OS/computer shutdown and boot-up? If so, yeah I know; I just like to tinker with all the different features and see how they work...or don't in my case.

Database in Suspended Mode

I faced this problem suddenly when i was trying some indexes on a local dummy table(using 'sa' user id) on DB COSMOS. After working around indexes i saved the file and closed Query Analyzer. On relogging again with 'sa' user Id i faced the following problem "A connection was successfully established but then an error occured during the login process.(provider : Shared Memory Provider, error:0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.) "
Then i logged in with Windows Authentication account. however i couldnt access DB COSMOS as it was put in Suspended Mode. On checking the event viewer i found below error
"SQL Server detected a logical consistency-based I/O error: incorrect checksum (expected: 0xb42e9a1f; actual: 0xb45a9f73). It occurred during a read of page (2:0) in database ID 7 at offset 0000000000000000 in file 'E:\COSMIC\COSMOS_log.ldf'. Additional messages in the SQL Server error log or system event log may provide more detail. This is a severe error condition that threatens database integrity and must be corrected immediately. Complete a full database consistency check (DBCC CHECKDB). This error can be caused by many factors; for more information, see SQL Server Books Online."
Well how the above error can be repaired. There are no backups of this db. I cannot run DBCC CHECKDB command for COSMOS as the same has been suspended.
Please give me the solution to above problem.

by putting my DB in emergency mode i could get the tables.Luckily there were only ten tables. however how do i take backup of the entire database in this case. As mentioned above, on executing DBCC CheckDB ('DBname', REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS) after setting dB to single User mode, the system still displayed that the dB was in suspect mode and cannot be opened. Also the other system dbs including master is damaged and in Online mode. how do i get damaged free dBs. What should be done in real live situation where data is very important.

Gnome freezes after suspend mode

Hi,
I am not quite sure how to proceed here, but I tried to collect as much information as possible. So when I am inactive for some minutes, my laptop goes into suspend mode. When I try to login again, the first attemp will not work (something like legitimation failed) and I have to hit ESC twice to get the login mask again. Then I am able to login, but everything except the upper gnome bar is frozen. I can hit the Super-Key and get an overview of my windows, but selecting them they appear in the foreground, but being "unclickable". Since I have driver issues with the broadcom chip, I installed the 3.11 kernel from testing, but except the direct dependancies I've not updated anything else and switched back to stable.
I can change to separate ttys (even though sometimes the login manager appears on tty2 after freeze), but I am not able to restart gnome with
pkill -HUP gnome-shell
though I can completely kill X with
pkill X

So I just installed the [stable] kernel and the problem still appears.

It's the same for me regarding screenlocking. My dmesg log seems to me normal. I looked into Xorg.logs and I found nothing special. Has anyone an idea which log to look at? pastie.org is somehow behaving strange so what's the official way to attach a log file?

Wls_forms stuck in suspending mode

It seems to be a very not good idea to ever go into the weblogic console and tell it to
shutdown wls_forms. It is now stuck in "suspending" mode. If anyone has any ideas
on how to recover from this I'd love to hear it.
forms 11.1.1.4, weblogic 10.3.4 on windows 2008 r2 64.

Ok 10 hours later it has shutdown! Yeah! I don't know how long it took but definitely longer
than 45 minutes. All I can say is if wls_forms seems to be stuck in suspending don't totally give up hope. I guess I can try the force option next time.

I updated the phone before backing it up on iTunes, now the update wanted me to connect the phone with iTunes and it says the phones in recovery mode and it must be restored before its used with iTunes. I go to click restore and it says it will reset it to factory default and I'll lose all my current data. I have all my sons pictures and videos along with this notes. I can't lose all of this data! You have to restore the iPod, no ifs, ands, or buts...
After iOS is installed you will be asked if you what to set it up as a new iPod or if you want to restore from a backup.
If you have a good backup you can restore that and you're good to go.
If you don't have a good backup, then you end up with a "clean" iPod....
